Great teacher. Definitely opened my eyes to new ideas of reading and analyzing. SOmetimes her assignments seemed real hard but once you sat down one-on-one with her she explained it in a way you would understand. Was very willing to help outside of class which helped alot.

She was hysterical, adorable, and hot. She also made me think. Brilliant. Take her, but not if you are close-minded.

she is so cute and helpful she really has a passion for english and teaches at the college level. her class is very rountine and she takes from the textbook a little too much, the work load is agreeable and she has the perfect recipe for essays!she is not out to burn you and wants u to do well and gives opputunity to do so and grades wonderfully

The readings and lectures are very interesting.SHe is very helpful, taking the time to answer questions and meet during lab hours to give advice. She is a wonderful person who has a personality, very easy to get along with.

I took Stevenson for eng 50 and eng 1a. She is an awesome teacher. She practically gives you everything you need to write your essays! She grades fair and you can tell she loves what she does. I would take her for all my English classes if I could!

Dr. Stevenson is the best english professor. Her essay assignments are fun; she encourages creativeness. However, she assigns a research paper on the financial crisis; which may seem boring at first, but it's quite interesting because the way she presents the material.If RCC knew any better they would let her teach English 1B.

I love her, she's such a great teacher!!! You do quite a number of essays but only because the class is more about research essay. She's great though, she goes into detail how the essay should be and she's willing to help you in any way that she can. Her class is awesome, i wish she taught 1B i'd take her class in a heart beat.

It is an easy class but do all of the work. If you slack off, you will not do well. She is great professor and she taught me new things.

She is a good teacher. She is very laid back. Her class isn't hard at all. If you show up, do the work and turn it in you will pass the class. She made Eng-80 easy. I recommend her to first time college students she will make your experience a good one. Plus you'll save money, no textbook is required.

Dr. Kathryn is awesome. She gives us the material we need for class, which saves us financially. Our readings are off of articles that are very entertaining to read. If you do your work and turn it in when its due, you're guaranteed to pass the class. I also love that she is there for her students and gives you feedback whenever its needed.

Yes, she does take in late work (that's what is also awesome about her). Sometimes, the reading packets are quite long, try your best to keep up with it. Awesome teacher. Took her for Eng 1A and she truly opened my eyes to topics I was naive to before. Learned a lot in that class. Open to hear what everyone has to say w/o being judgemental. Tests were open book for the most part. 4 essays total. Gives great feedback and will work with you to get a better grade. Highly recommend!

Kat is AWESOME! She tailored the class to what she felt was fun. We wrote short stories, screenplays, and poetry. You will have homework everyday, but it's so easy that you can get by doing it the night before or the day of class. If I weren't transferring, I would definitely take her again. She's inspirational w/o trying.

lots of reading and writing but it's an English class soo. really enjoyed her teaching method. she tried to teach in a way that wouldn't bore us students yet interesting enough to pay attention and genuinely be interested. would highly highly recommend her! she doesn't care if you're late and she accepts late work for full credit! what!

This professor was amazing. She is very clear o what assignments to turn an and gives plenty of time on when to do them. She has told us "I love giving A's" so do your work and you'l most likely get a good grade in this class. She is very clear on certain subjects that she goes over and gives great insight on the subject at hand. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great professor! If you do the readings and attend class it is pretty easy to pass. The papers can be intimidating, but theres usually class time dedicated, with a collaborative brainstorm on example thesis. There are free writing periods at the end of class lecture/discussion, these are a great way to help write future essays, too.

She is an amazing professor! She cares about every student. The homework is mild, she is not a tough grader. As long as you do the homework, you will get credit for it. She lets you turn in late homework, but don't slack off because the work does add up. It is an easy A if you put the effort in. I highly recommend this class!

The sweetest, kindest woman. She's funny and passionate about what she teaches. She accepts late work & gives great feedback on your essays. Class is super easy, would be surprised if anyone were to fail. All the "required texts" are less than 15 and if you ask her she'll let you take pics of her book. Show up to turn in work sometimes and ur good.

You have to do a page every day for homework based on the reading. You have to read a lot which tends to tire you out but its not bad. Class isnt difficult and Stevenson knows what shes doing, take this class do the work and youll get an A.

Professor Stevenson is flexible, knows how to use technology, and has truly interesting discussions with the class. You will be exposed to all kinds of cultural experiences during class and it will make you smarter and open-minded. The readings she chooses are great and you don't have to spend a dime. Best English Professor. She offer interesting topic for students to learn. Reading material is provided by her. You will do reading but theyre manageable. We do discussions, reading response and essay which are not difficult. She is really caring, offer great feedback and encourage student to share their opinion. I would definitely take her class.

Professor Stevenson is a real gem of Moreno Valley College. She is so kind and friendly with her students, and she is always available if there are any questions. If you are not able to attend just submit the work we did in class and you will get points. Lots of reading and writing (I page each class+3 Essays)

Professor Stevensons lectures are so interesting and educational. Reading topics consists of social injustice and racial issues. Topics that should be taught in high schools in my opinion. She is an excellent English professor, but above all a wonderful human being. I highly recommend taking her class. Put in the effort and she will give you an A.

She is a very nice English Professor and it very easy to pass the class as along you finished the assignment which it shouldn't take that long and also She talks about the social issue in America like Immigrant, Racial Injustice and Vision of the Future. Also took this class in the Winter 2021 and I did very well than the ENG 1A grade.

There's a lot of reading from different books based on the unit but the material we read and discuss in class is used at the end of each unit for the project. Allows students to work in groups or alone. Doesn't force people to present since its extra credit. She LOVES giving detailed feedback and its always positive.

I love how she teaches the class about what is happening in our world. For example what I am learning today from her class is about climate change and how could we save the earth. I am thinking to have this class again because for me this class is really fun to have because on the first day my classmates got to know each other better. Best teacher!

I loved taking this class during the fall semester, and I recommend her because the class is easy, she labor base grades, and you learn a lot. The labs take 15 minutes max. Being in class is necessary as she does go over a lot with you. She communicates and is very understanding. You do read a lot so sometimes it's hard not to zone out.

This professor made ENG-1A so manageable! She's very zen and uses labor-based grading, so as long as you complete assignments to their entirety, you're good. She's also very understanding and tries to see the brilliance in all her students. This is one of the first classes I took at MVC, and I'm so glad I took this course with her.
