She is a awesome teacher. She is not hard at all. She really don't require homework at all but she still reviews it if you have any questions. She teaches a new section everyday so i will advise you to come to class but other than that she cool. She does give 4 test and that is 25% of your grade but you will pass if you come to class.
She is an AWESOME teacher! She takes time to go over the homeworks. you get graded on 4 tests, they're very easy barely 12 questions. She's funny, i'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND her
BEST TEACHER EVERRR..SHE IS VERY HELPFUL...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER.AND..SHE'S SUPER HOT!!! FUNNY AT THE SAME TIME
Great professor!!! She is super helpful and NEVER gets impatient if you don't understand the subject. She also has a sparkly personality and is extremely enthusiastic about meeting other people (AND.. she looks like a Victoria's Secret model)
She is a great teacher and has a great personality. She is very patient and understands the material very well. She is also very beautiful so you should not have a problem paying attention in class.
She was VERY helpful. She responds to all of your emails asap. I'm terrible with math and she took her time before almost every class to help me with the material. Im doing everything in my power to get her for MAC1105!
This is the best math professor at Lake Worth campus. She is so extremely helpful and she focuses on making sure her students grasp concepts rather than trying to keep the pace of the class. She provides a clear review before tests and gives credit for showing work. Good sense of humor. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.
An amazing professor!! I am an older student returning for my BA. I loved taking her class She gives the students all of the homework, quizzes, and tests on mymathlab that you complete at home. I recommend her to anyone. I worked hard and got an A.
This class at first was hard for me since i am not good in math however i tried my best by at least getting a c on the tests and for the final with the use of the in class review i ended up earning a "B" on the final.
This professor is amazing! She is super organized! You use a program called MyLab. The downfall of this is you have to pay extra... However it's worth it! Math is a weak area for me, but if you take it with the professor you'll do great! This course consists of 4 tests 80% in total of your grade and homework that is 20% of your grade.
She's very patience and will actually take the time out to help students who need help and is very clear and easy to understand when demonstrating problems on the board. She gives reviews before every test which helps out a lot. If you pay attention and go to every class it will be very hard to fail .
Taking for calculus; not an easy class, due to the class mainly being based on tests. Also, no extra credit and no grades dropped. She is a nice teacher and is willing to explain, but the tests tend to be somewhat different (and more difficult) than the homework. Also, homework is not graded and no review sheets are given, but problems are reviewed
This class is ridiculously hard not to mention I already don't understand math. She moves relatively quickly assuming that everyone understands the material. She does go over the homework but it is not mandatory & tests are generally only 10?'s long which sucks because it carries so much weight.
Kathryn Thomasson is the best math teacher ever. From now on i will only take math classes. Next class will be abacus 1001.
Make sure to read all instructions for modules 1-4. Only 4 exams, no final, 2 in test center, 2 at home. Easy course. Exams are exactly like practice exams. No way to fail. You get basically 1 month for every module. Easy A!!
SHE IS SO CUTE! Anyways, Thomasson is very thorough and clear, she is straight up so don't try and sweet talk her. Great math teacher for anybody to take!! online component is needed. Palm beach state started a mathlab for homework online. It is dumb if you not good with computers
Easiest class ever. But she doesn't teach at all. Didn't talk to her one time throughout the entire course. Everything is online and you teach yourself through the book. But tests and assignments are easy. It's an easy A.
This is worst teacher i have ever taken in my fricken life. i thought taking a forgin language class was hard, math used to be very easy until i saw this teacher. she knows her stuff, but she only gives two test one mid term and one final which is 25% of your grade each, fail one and your screwed. i will never take her again, wost teacher ever. just because she has good reviews doesnt mean anything.
long story short, take her and your chances of passing are slim unless your a pro in math, worst math professor that I have ever taken. never will I take this teacher again. I have no clue how she got those reviews, but she is extremely horrible.
She knows her math. But she works so fast. Doesnt really help. If you dont understand math dont take her.
Awesome professor!!!! I would definitely take her again. She is very clear when she explains how to do problems and she makes math easy to understand. She is very helpful and never makes you feel dumb when you ask a question. Very patient. You have to keep up with homework to pass. Tests are just like homework problems.
worst teacher anyone could ever possibly ask for. she moves way to fast and she doesn't take time to teach properly, she just races of, tries to explain stuff and before you know it you have a mid term and a final which is half your grade. fail one and your done,
This class is difficult, confusing and stressful sometimes but I think that's just all math classes lol. She is a great professor who tries her best to cover the course in 16 weeks, hoping you'll understand the material. She's fair and willing to help if you ask and advises you to use your book, go to the mathlab, etc. Take good notes and study!!!
She is what the schools need more of. I am taking her again in the Spring for College Algebra. Awesome...........................
SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER TAKEN, AND HAD IN MY LIFE!! the first midterm could be a tough one, but the final is sooooo easy, anyone can pass if you want it bad enough. she is soooo easy, she explains very good and shes very cute ^_^
She's not just an intelligent person ,she's a sweet kind heart. I've gone though some tough health issues, including major cardiothoracic surgery and intravenous therapies, and she was there for me every step of the way, not just being a professor, but being a guider and giving me strength to not give up.
There's only 4 tests, and homework so it's not a big deal. Pretty standard online math class, willing to help if you make the effort.
i took a hybrid and there was lots of HW online. she explains whats on the test you just have to study it.
I have the read the comments underneath for this professor and if you feel negative about her, then that means you obviously didn't what you were suppose to do. She is an easy professor and she asks you do you need help, and if so bring the questions in from the online math lab so that she can go over then with you. I , for one , loved her.
Gives homework but it is not graded. Had five tests equally weighted that were all fairly easy.
She is the best teacher her class is very easy if you come to her class do all your homework. I will take her class again for college algebra in the spring. I will recommend anyone to take her class , you need to just focus that's all easy A.
Best math professor I've ever had! Would deff take her again.
She is the best professor I have ever had in my entire college career!!! She makes things so simple to understand. She is willing to help you anytime she can. She is truly a remarkable professor . I use to be terrible at math and she helped change that! Do yourself a favor and take her! You won't be disappointed!
I took Mrs Thomasson for Honors Precalc. I've realized after taking Honors Calc that I miss her teaching style. It was so concise, easy to understand, face paced. I've realized that Mrs Thomasson was the perfect professor but was, and is, the best professor I've ever had. I regret not taking her again. Perfect professor, no doubt 100/10
Excellent professor! Her teaching style is awesome. Not too fast, or too slow. She explains everything in detail, but she doesn't dumb the class down. She's by far my favorite math teacher I've had.
Best teacher I've ever had !! She makes everything make sense and I love her teaching style! Amazing teacher.
One of the most amazing Professors I've ever had. Her lectures are very clear and she does problems from the book that are similar to the HW and are on the test. She'll answer any question you have. everyone should take her. She's very nice and HW is optional but if you do it you get extra credit and preparation for the test.
Professor Thomasson made someone who doesn't understand math at all pass Stats! She explains everything so clearly, for the tests you are able to bring in a note card with whatever notes you need to help you on the tests. There are only 5 test, no final! You don't need to do the homework but if you do it really helps you on the test.
She uses mymathlab. Only 4 test and they are taken in secure location. homework in mymathlab is very easy and you should get anything less than 100. you have to do the practice test. practice test are very very identical to the test. do practice test multiple times then run to secure location so its all fresh in your head.
Professor Thomasson is very clear with teaching and if you don't understand something, she will gladly explain it. Her notes are structured very well, as long as you take notes during class you will pass with no problem. Homework isn't for a grade, but she will randomly give extra credit for it. 10/10 recommend taking her.
Amazing professors! lectures were very clear and straight to the point, she did lots of practice problems to help students. Hw is not required but will give extra credit from time to time for it. Her tests were exactly like the reviews. she really tries to help you to get a good grade. She even helped me with my other math hw. Would take her again
Professor Kathryn Thomasson is an excellent one. She gives the only examples that matters for the lesson and she writes it on the board with you. Also, we do have a lot of homework but you do get extra credit sometimes if you do it. Plus, it helps you study for tests, which are the only things graded for the class
Great professor, extremely nice and teaches the material that you need to know to pass the test.
Ms. Thomasson takes questions directly from the book and works them with you on the board. Then she gives you several to work on your own while she walks around the room and helps you when you get stuck. I loved having her as an instructor and wish I could again. She is absoultely gorgeous, too.
The requirements for the online courses are clear. You are graded on homework and four exams. You can easily finish early if you are on top of all your homework. Math is not my best subject so I wish she would have offered more opportunities for extra credit.
Took the class online, 4 tests and online homework. Very clear with whats expected of you and no surprises on the test. Wish I could have her for calc classes
Was never a good math student so having Professor Thomasson as my teacher was amazing. All of the questions she goes over on board are all from the book. She does a review a week before the test and the review is the same thing as the test just different questions. Drops the lowest test grade if your final exam is better.
I got a B could of got an A. She is the sweetest teacher ever! and so helpful. I took her for precalculus and trig a combo of both and wow was trig hard :/. Well math in general is a pretty difficult subject but she gets out of her way to help the best way she can. BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!!! I also took her for Intermediate algebra and got an A.
Responds to emails, very patient.
She is super nice and the tests are just like the homework. Do the homework and you'll pass.
Fair workload, 4 tests with homework in-between. Professor is there if we need her, responds to emails quickly. Blackboard tools helped the most during this class. Study and TAKE PRACTICE TEST MULTIPLE TIMES! They're just like the real exam. Thats your ticket to passing! Overall, great for a math class.
Professor Thomasson is AMAZING !! I definitely recommend taking her. She explains everything step by step and don't be afraid to ask questions. She's honestly the sweetest!!
Shes great!! Courseload is a lot and is taught very fast but she makes things so understandable and will go back if you ask. Tests are just like what is reviewed in class and are not surprising. Very straight forward and available during office hours, emails, etc. Homework is a grade
She's so pretty. Be prepared to work in this class. The best thing I like about her is she writes things step by step, so when you go home to study you should remember the steps. As soon as you walk in the door she's already writtng on the board. I suck at math but she explained very good. So take her and be ready to apply yourself. Tests are short
She changed my life. I never really understood math or cared for it until I took her class. She writes/explains everything step by step clearly. She made me enjoy math. I wish every math teacher was like her. I suggest this professor to anyone. Shes simply amazing. If I could rate her 9484748382727237x I would.
Amazing teacher. She makes math seem simple and easy to learn and understand. She is able to help students outside of the classroom and is always willing to help and take extra time with you if you don't understand. I would taker her again if I needed another math class. Take her!
The class itself is somewhat difficult since it's a combo math class and moves at a quick speed. However, the professor is a great teacher. When it came to the trigonometry part of the class, she slowed the class down, gave handouts, explained how to understand the unit circle. She is accessible after class and during her office hours.
I dont know why I took her online class. I shouldn't do that. I saw some good recommend thats why I took her online class but actually i was wrong, she is so irresponsible professor I ever have. She never take care her students. She never makes me use my textbook but her testing style is so unpredictable, not matched with practice test.
This teacher was amazing, she explains everything very clearly and if you need help she is right there to answer any questions. Homework was easy, you need to attend to get the lecture notes for the tests, if you do you will pass with flying colors.
I really can't overstate how excellent this professor is. Lectures were a little fast-paced, but nothing I didn't expect. She knows the material inside and out and teaches it very efficiently. No hand-holding but if you take the class seriously she will work hard to help you. I only wish my education plan allowed me to take more of her classes.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I got 100's on practice test and then when I went to take the real tests which count for most of your grade, I would do awful. The tests are not multiple choice and there are only a few questions so if you get one wrong you do really poorly. Everyone I know who took with other teachers got an A.
Uses MyMathLab, which is great. If you read, take notes, do the HW and examples until you understand it, you should get an easy A. I didn't really need much help and barely emailed her, but when I did she was very helpful. Graded by 4 tests (80%)and HW (20). Had to take tests at the testing center, which was annoying, but that has changed due to CV
Great professor all around, nice, clear at teaching but when we switched to remote instruction due to covid-19, she left the class stranded and did not teach. She would email you when tests are due but never taught the rest of the class so you are basically on your own. She basically had 2 months vacation.
Do the work, get the grade, all can be done like right away. no midterm, no writing.
Prof. Thomasson is a wonderful person all around. She breaks down the material so that you understand everything. She is extremely accessible and very flexible when it comes to due dates. The thought of getting an A in Calc never crossed my mind before taking her class. Take her for any math course you can (especially calc); you'll be glad you did.
Excellent person and professor. Funny and makes lectures enjoyable to attend. Willing to spend extra time to go over questions and any doubts about homework/quizzes/exams/etc. Breaks down Calculus concepts into easy-to-follow steps. All work was done on MyMathLab this COVID season. Honors project is a small presentation about Calculus at the end.
I don't think i ever spoke to the instructor. I read the syllabus and a start here pdf and did everything myself. If you have trouble in math and need guides or assistance this is not the course to take. I had to be self sufficient and study on my own with the 90's VHS looking instructional videos.
she uses MML which was perfect for me, it was a super easy class. exams aren't proctored either. would definitely recommend!
Great teacher for pre-Calc/Trig
I took this class fully online. Everything was on My Pearson Mathlab which made it easy to see when assignments were due, what assignments I needed to work on, and what my grade was throughout the semester. I liked that all the homework/tests were open so that you could work ahead if need be. About 5-7 homework assignments a month and then a test.
Professor Thomasson is amazing. The lessons can be a bit challenging at times but she provides great notes making everything easier to understand. If I ever had any questions, she responded quickly and was able to help. There were about 4 modules: 6-7 homework assignments for each module along with one exam per module.
She sucks wouldnt recommend taking her
Professor Thomasson is an alright math teacher for this class. You will need to get math lab for this is course and beware, mathlab can get quite annoying sometimes. Make sure to set ur test date appointment on time and have a notecard to use on the test. Also, you can't make up a test unless u haven't taken it yet. Overall, it's an easy course.
Took this class online thinking she'd be the one teaching it. You learn through MML , its good for independent workers and prefer working on their own time. The videos are old and their teaching style is horrible. I suggest you to learn from other sources to break down problems. I dont regret taking this class, but I really worked for that A.
The material is all in my math lab, which is fine, but a lot of the teaching styles are outdated and the things you learn throughout the lessons and on the homework are definitely not similar to the exams. Exams are proctored IN PERSON and times weren't convenient for someone who works full time
When I planned on taking this course I thought that the professor would be teaching but instead, she taught the through a typed-out transcript. It wasn't helpful. The way she "taught" and the MML videos were extremely different. My class was failing so badly that a 60% was considered a C+.
Kathryn Thomasson was a great professor, she gave homework which was part of your grade, also gave a non-graded and practice test that was very similar to the test. Her lecture where simple understand. She has a passion in teaching mathematics and made tri/precal very simple to get. I definitely recommend her but remember to always study.
I took this class online and we used mymathlab for everything. I personally liked using it because of the examples it provided on the homework and practice tests. The exams are very similar to the practice tests and she lets you use a notecard on the exams. She also gives links to youtube videos and power points that are helpful.
For her online College Algebra class, you are given homework through MyMathLab. Your final grade for this course is determined based on your MyMathLab final grade. Tests are 80% (I had 4 tests) and homework was 20% (about 5/6 lesson per unit). You have to take in person exams and make sure you are prepared since its weighted heavily. Super nice!!!
Prof. Thomasson is an amazing professor. EVERYTHING is on My Math Lab. Tests are in person at a testing center, but she gives extra credit at the end of the semester. If you're ending with a high B, she'll bump it to an A. I took her express A course, and it was very simple.
Exams are taken in person but you are allowed one notecard which is plenty. Most of the questions were almost the same questions as the practice tests. There was a bunch of homework due at the same time but that was due to the fact it was an accelerated course. Highly recommend she wants what is best for her students.
This teacher will 100% work with you after and outside of class if you have any difficulty. Very nice and easy to talk to. I like her teaching style. If you fail this class it's definitely your fault.
Best math teacher there is. I wish I could take her for all the math classes I need. There is quite the homework but she's the best. She explains everything so nicely and takes her time to help others when you are stuck.
I loved the way she explained everything. For every section covered, she would give the necessary notes like formulas and such, and then the rest of the class time was spent doing exercises to get familiar with the subject. There are only 4 tests, no mid-term and no final.
Probably the best professor I've had at PBSC so far. Her lectures are perfectly structured- notes at the beginning of class, followed by practice problems- and the tests were not trying to trick you. If you do the homework, you'll do well on every test (and her Canvas is very organized). If you need this class, she's the perfect professor.
I took Professor Thomasson for trigonometry and hands down the best professor I've had at PBSC. She values her connections with her students and works with them until they understand. She does many practice problems for you to understand. She does more practice problems in the classes before exams as well. BEST. PROFESSOR. EVER.
Honestly never felt like I needed to write a review before but this professor was great, I had her for a hybrid class and she teaches really well. Hw was through Pearson but the due dates are really reasonable, I did have issues with Pearson but she was really caring about the ordeal until it was resolved. Definitely recommend, she's super cool.
Gives you the pearson portal to do homework and tests and THAT'S IT. NO LECTURES. NO LEARNING ANYTHING. I spent the whole semester using the SLC tutors to teach me and be my professor because there was NO OTHER WAY TO LEARN. I got an A because of the great tutors at the SLC they were my real professors. She is a JOKE.
Very easygoing and understanding.
