She is a very nice person. I did not pass her class the first time, but she is so willing to work with me that i am retaking the class with her again in the fall.

A good teacher. Expects you to study, learn, and follow along in class. Do that, and you'll be okay.

Great teacher. Very smart and helpful. The only complaint would be too much homework and not enough time to digest homework befor moving onto next weeks new homework.

Great teacher, I wish I had her for all my classes. This class is hard, but if you follow her recommendations, you will get an A. Really goes out of her way to help her students. (She has also received a teaching award through the college.)

Great teacher.. Very helpful.. Informative!! She is not easy, but if you listen to her and go to her for help she is there for you. I feel she is there to help you pass if you put the effort to do so.

THis class is a hard class..but she's a great teacher...very helpful and explains things well. The tests are hard but im sorry..if you're going into the medical field...its not easy and you need to know this stuff...study and work hard and you'll be fine...she'll push you but when you're going to deal with other peoples lives..you need to be pushed

She is a good teacher, yet sometimes you can get lost in her lectures if you don't pay attention. I like her a lot!! and she is rreally sweet. But Anatomy in itself is difficult if you aren't interested in it.

I have her for both lecture and lab. Overall she is a great teacher and will help you when you ask. Has ppt's already made up for you. The tests are difficult, but if you study each slide of her ppt's and read you will do fine. She is a great lab teacher!

Awesome teacher. very fair to everyone and clear as water. she helped me so much with the way she explains things. definately made my bio. horror much more soothed.

HARD CLASS BUT SHE TEACHES IT VERY WELL. I LIKE HER A LOT. WOULD TAKE HER AGAIN

Mrs. Ames has great teaching skill and she truely want the her students to understand the subject. She answers any questions by e-mails promptly. You will have to invest alot of time studying, but Mrs Ames will help you as she will work with students durign office hours.

Study guides were amazing! Follow them completely, u barely have to take notes becuz she has done them for u! Study for this class and u will automatically get an A! She explains everything thoroughly + really makes everything clear with good examples, a nice attitude, + at a reasonable pace. Labs were relatively easy too. She makes learning easy!

This was one of the best classes I have ever taken. It was very easy to understand and she is there to help you in anyway you need. If you don't understand something, just ask her and she'll explain it. I actually got my first A in her class.

Great teacher.

Took her for a minimester and she was really great. I am not very good at science, but I did extremely well in her class because she makes it easy to understand and somewhat *gasp* fun. Definitely recommend her to anyone needing to take Biology 111

I thought "the biology of man" would be more interesting than it was. she is a nice person but the class is very difficult and unless your are passionate about science you wont do well. there isnt much homework, but then every test is over 3 chapters!

This is the greatest teacher I've ever had. She explains everything so clearly. You can ask her questions. She is extremely friendly. I took all my anatomy classes with her, and then decided that she was so wonderful, I would take genetics with her. She is awesome. TAKE HER CLASSES!

Shes great and will help you pass...shes so good...she drops the lowest test and quiz at the end of the semester...she makes it interesting to learn...the labs are long but fun...i recommend her to anyone!

Shes a pretty good teacher. She always gives study guides, but the tests can sometimes be tough.

I took this class as a minimester, and it went really well. She's so helpful when you need it. Her quizzes were group quizzes, and all of her assignments she encouraged you to do with others so that you would get different ideas for the answers. Wouldnt say this was the easiest class ever, but if you study, and really pay attention,you'll do great!

The only complaint I have is I felt like everything was just thrown at me. I don't blame this on the teacher but the subject itself. It is supposed to be hard. I feel she makes the best of getting you through without your head exploding! Liked her enough to take her again for 146.

Great teacher. She is extremely clear in her expectations and helpful. I thought that BIO111 would be hard but I got an A. She is truly a teacher that WANTS HER STUDENTS TO SUCCEED.

I had her for Genetics, and she was one of the best teachers I've ever had at ICC. She uses slide presentations for class and gives you a copy to fill out as she goes along. Most of the test questions are straight from the study guide, so expectations are very clear. Highly recommended!

Great professor!She is extremely knowlegable and helpful.People who don't like her are probably just not smart enough for the class. A&P 145 is one of the hardest classes at ICC.Don't shoot the messenger.Tests are straightforward and cover a relatively modest amount of material.No papers, very few assignments.Studying is the only real requirement.

Tough class, for sure. She is very clear in her notes and expects you to do your half of the work. She is extremely helpful and a very nice person. She knows it's a tough subject and helps out anyway possible. Tests cover everything (notes and book) but she gives a lot of online quizzes that help buffer the grade. Overall, good teacher.

She was an incredibly easy teacher, and her tests were NOT bad at all. Her notes are all fill-in, and her questions come straight from the slides. She curves every test, and drops your worst one to out of 50 points. Although she can be stuck in her ways, she lets you go over old tests to get answers for the final, which is really helpful.

Ames is a very nice teacher! Although A&P is a tough course, she tries to make it easier by providing study sessions around test times, online quizzes, and study guides. You really have to study to get a good grade, but it is possible!

The class is hard regardless who teaches it. It's a lot of info but Ames is awesome at explaining things. Also if you go to her during her office hours she is very helpful and approachable. I will definitely being taking her for BIO146!

This class is hard no matter who the teacher is. You have to study all the time and make it your top priority. She wants you to succeed and is willing to help you. If you study her slides and study her iClicker questions and read the chapter then you should do fine out her exams. I would recommend her to anyone!

Very hard class no two ways about it !!!! But i do feel she knows her stuff but still likes teaching it. Tests are not easy. Multiple choice but the killer are the fill ins usually two pages. Hard class but i liked her.

Hard class, hard information and she does her best to clarify. Tests are difficult with multiple choice and fill in pages. All I can say is you must study study study for this class. I liked her.She gave us chances for extra credit because most people bombed the first test. Recommended but be ready !

This is a very difficult class no matter what teacher you have, but Mrs. Ames tries everything in her power(within reason/without just telling you the answer)to help you understand. I have had Mrs. Ames for two classes now and I love her. She takes the time to help you and I really think she loves teaching. She is fair on grading. You Must do work!

She is a wonderful teacher. The class is tough and it doesn't make a difference who the teacher is. She tries everything she can do to help you understand. She will take the time to explain it better if you have questions and is always just an e-mail away. Uses I-Clickers and quizzes you on stuff before she has taught it.

Best professor anyone could have for A&P. One of the hardest classes yet she breaks it down into chunks and uses examples that are so easy to understand- plus she has a powerpoint packet so that you can take notes on the slides she will use in class. Very organized for a tough class with a ton of material.

Great teacher. She uses several examples to help you learn a difficult subject. She is very organized and nice. Her classes go very fast so make sure you keep up. I like that she prints off the powerpoints and helpful diagrams for you.

SHE IS A WONDERFUL TEACHER I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!! I had her for 145 and wish I could've got her for 146. She makes an extremely difficult subject so much easier. She goes into great detail to help you understant the subject. I would recommend her over any of the other professors that teach BIO 145 and 146

She is a great teacher. The class is only hard if you don't study. She tells you exactly what will be on it, but it is up to you to study. If you follow her suggestions, you should do fine. DO NOT FALL BEHIND. It is rather hard to make up lost time.

She is a really good teacher! She knows her stuff and can break it down very well. Keep up and stay in contact with her if you are not in class. RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE. Subject may be tough but with a good teacher like her it is easier.

Took 145 with her as well. She is the greatest professor I have had. Made it easy to understand such hard concepts. Recommend her to anyone. She is so helpful. The key is to constantly study. If you work hard and study a lot, it will pay off.

I'm currently in BIO 206 and I'm sad she isn't teaching it this semester, I would have taken her again. If you have the opportunity, take her! She's the best in my opinion. Yes, of course this class is hard, and it covers A LOT, expect that. If you can't handle it don't take it, that being said, she taught it very well and I'm so happy with my B!

This class is tough and there is a lot of material that has to be covered. I think that she did a great job presenting materials and giving examples and ways to help you remember things. She also held extra study group times for people that were having a hard time with the material. Be prepared and do the work and you will do great in this class.

I had her for Bio 205 this passed spring. She is a hard teacher, but that is because she wants you to know the material since most people taking this class are going into the health care field. If I had to retake the class, I would definitely take her again. If you skip class, you won't pass.

I had her for BIO205 and I loved the class. Her lectures are very interesting with a lot of analogies and what not. If you don't take extra notes or miss class you probably won't pass. She makes you work for your grade, but it's healthcare and it isn't easy. If I had to retake the class I definitely would pick her!

Prof. Ames is a hard teacher, however she is very helpful if you go to her. Make sure to read the book and take really good notes, and draw her drawings! She has great analogies that help you understand the material better. If I had to retake it I would retake it with her.

Loved Mrs. Ames! I made sure to get into her lecture for both 205 and 206. Very organized, always stayed on schedule, got graded work back to students quickly, and was very helpful and approachable. There are a lot of opportunities to earn points besides exams. She knows what she is talking about and is great at explaining difficult concepts.

Made sure to get into her lecture for 206 because of how great she was in 205! Although the class covers a lot of material, Mrs. Ames explains the information well and give many opportunities for points other than exams. Gives lots of helpful handouts and worksheets. Great at making sure students thoroughly understand.

She was a very good teacher for our class. She gave everyone the same chance and was very respectful and kind to students. Although, as good of a teacher as she was, I would prefer not to take her again only because her teaching style did not click with me. That being said, a ton of people like her teaching style and I liked as a person very much.

This class is lecture heavy, lots of material. Print off & study the powerpoint notes off of Blackboard. She explains concepts so you can understand them. Write down what she's writes on the board. Self study is major if you want to pass. you will have one make up test & your lowest quiz score will be dropped.

Had Prof. Ames for Bio 205 in a minimester. For how much was crammed into each lecture, I think she did a fantastic job and I was able to absorb what she taught.

I had professor Ames last semester for AP1 lecture and I sure do miss her this semester. Her lecture was clear, concise and understandable. She expected you to do your work and earn your grade. She went out of her way to help her students. I had signed up for her again but she was unable to teach this semester. I highly recommend her
