You must go to class. Tests are hard and notes are not very clear. Must read the book to pass!
Read the book and review all the notes you take. Go to class everyday because extra credit is offered every now and then.
Wonderful teacher, expects students to act like adults. Answers your cell phone in class, so turn them off. Best off if you can get in a small class.
She doesn't try to help you get a good grade in this class she is just there to get a check and watch people fail.
She is hard, rude, and discriminates according to organizations, gender, and race. Kiss her butt and she will love you. Otherwise good luck. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!!
She is a different person to say the least. If you stay on her good side you will have not problems in her class. It is easy to get an A in her classes as long as you go to class. She can be rather strange though. You need to be patient.

I think she is possibly the worst professor ever. She is very opinionated and imposes her opinion as fact. Her tests are absurd and poorly organized. Avoid Cook. Stick to someone great like Slaughter.
DON"T TAKE HER.
She plays favorites and is rude to the other students, insulting and belittling them in class. She won't actually teach you anything. The test questions usually weren't covered and her pop quizzes are prior to her preparing you adequately. RUN!
her tests are difficult but she will make time in her schedule to help you with any problems you are having in the class. i actually ended up liking her.
First of all, I am really suprised that people think Dr. Cook's class is hard. Its definately not a no brainer class. However, if you read the chapters and study the notes you should make A's and B's. I think she is a good teacher.
Unpleasant personality, probably thinks she is the greatest an everyone else is an idiot. Buttom line teacher, should'nt be allowed to teach.
Has favorites...be one or be sorry.
You must be her favorite or forget it. I did all the work and studying but it didn't go anywhere. Not an easy person to deal with. Be aware.

She covers lots of material but she is always willing to help and explain. Wants students to take things seriously and to learn and work hard. If you go to class and study you will be fine. Don't be afraid of her she is nice and very helpful.
Be prepared to read, read and read. She's hard but if you read you will be her favorite and therefore get a "B". No A's in this class my friends.
Dr. Cook is one of the only legal studies teachers that actually makes you learn the law. She's not easy but you will walk away feeling like you actually accomplishmed something
Most PLA classes you have a guranteed A if you show up to class and sign in on the attendance. Prof. Cook actually made us study alot of material and I actually had to buy a couple of the books. This class sucked because I couldnt go out and party all the time like usual
Has favorites...be one or be sorry. To much infomation and half is not in the test. She looks crazy and stupid.
If you take notes, study them, you can easily earn an A in her classes. Introduce yourself and get to know her, don't pay attention to the bad ratings, she's a fun professor. One of the best at UCF. You will learn.
She is a wonderful teacher. Very interesting and makes you want to learn. Although the class can be a challange she will encourage you to do your best in every aspect. Be prepared to read and take notes and you will leave satisfied.
She is rather simple. She does require you attend class. Opened minded when it comes to exams. If her co workers are having test she will postpone her own. She curves in the end so you do even better then you think.
She is not a very good teacher she is boring I did not like her class at all I would stick with Milon.
Good teacher, but her material is hard as hell. Be social and talk to her but realize she's a real estate nazi-everything she says about real estate is true, agree with her and you'll be fine. Don't goto her for advising, research on your own and make your own plan, cause she'll keep u at UCF forever
Do not take her. She makes the material harder than it needs to be. The true/false questions on her tests are tricky. Don't argue with her, she's always right. She also likes to give pop quizzes, and expects you to be a real estate expert. Save yourself a headache and avoid her class.

I found that taking good notes and studing them can earn a high B and the extra credit will push you to an A. Yes, her test were difficult, but study and you do o.k. I don't think anyone could earn a 100 on her test, but she curves. Law school will be much harder so accept this minor challenge!
Surprised by all the bad ratings...The material is diffucult, but that's not her fault. She makes it as interesting and easy as she can. She curves tests and postpones them if another professor is giving one; Will learn a lot in this class
Ok,so she's always right, get over it and suck up, its worth it. Go to her office hours or stay after class so she know's your face. I had her for Property,Torts, and Im in Capstone now. I got a B in Torts only because I didnt do the extra credit and I got an A in Property. It's not that bad,if you take good notes you dont even have to read the book
Prof. Cook will only expect the best out of students. The reason she might seem hard is because she expects the most out of you, she does her best to relate the material in class to real life situations. She is not easy but she will be willing to work with those students who need help in class.
Dr. Cook is great! If you go to class, and read you will do fine. Her tests are not easy, that's the way college is supposed to be, if it was easy everyone would do it! You will learn a lot in any class you take with her. Also, she is a very caring advisor!
Dr. Cook is a great professor, her tests are hard but you will do fine if you go to her classes and do the end of chapter reviews and learn her vocab make sure you memorize her in class notes!! The best part is she curves her tests.
The tests are hard but if you go to class, read, and take notes you'll do. Everyone that ****es and complains are those who don't do anything and expect an easy A. She's great in-class and makes the material engaging. Also an excellent advisor
She's a fair teacher. Basically read the book and the notes and you'll do fine on her tests. She goes over notes pretty quickly but they are a lot easier to understand than the book. She gives a little curve that really helps in the end.
Best teacher ever!! Totally recommend her!!!
Do Not Take This Professor. You Will Fail Class!!!!!!!!
If you fail this class you're an idiot. Her tests are hard but she teaches very well. If you just go to class you will pass her tests with an A or B.
Honestly guys, she is one of the best professors in our department! She teaches very well, its not her fault that you do not memorize her notes and read the book! Make sure you go to every class i do not recommend to even miss one because you miss out on a lot! Pay attention to when she emphasizes on a certain topic. I'll definetly recommend her fo
Cook, is a great professor, you will learn a lot from her which is valuable information if you are going to law school. I got a B in torts last fall and I'm probably going to end up with an A in Property. If you study, and listen to her in class you will pass with an A. She gives extra credit, and curves tests.
Dr. Cook is a very good prof., a little unorganized at times but you will def. learn alot from her. Her tests are not easy but its not bc she makes it difficult its bc Torts is not easy. Go 2 every class listen to what she says, take good notes + study the book and you will do good in this class. She curves tests alittle. I got an A, so can you.
I've had Dr. Cook for four classes and have gotten A's easily in all of them. The people who say you are going to fail are looking to do no work and get an A. Honestly, she is very organized, is extremly intelligent and helpful, and gives plenty of notice on assingments and tests. She'll review tests before they happen too and tell you everything.
She is hard but a good professor, think about it you are in college now! A little crazy at times but it helps you understand!!!

She's an amazing teacher, but requires your full attention. I've learned more from her class than anyother. If you go to class Copy down every word she REPEATS, and make flashcards you will pass. If you have low dedication... i reccommend taking another teacher.
Although I got a C in her class, I deserved it. I didn't work or study as hard as i shoudl have. She will stay after class to help answer your questions and while its silly she relates funny stories to the material to make it easier to remember. Be prepared, this is not a class you just sit there and get an A.
she's a really good teacher, but you must attend class, review before class and write down everything she says twice and you'll get an A
Great teacher, those who said she is hard is just lazy. I took her for Capstone and she is really helpful in and out of class. She really does want to help you, just a tough teacher at times. I'd really recommend her, she's tough because she wants to get the most out of you.
Going to class and taking notes will help a lot, but in my case, I understood the material better by reading on my own. Overall a good teacher who remains available to her students and care about their success.
If at all possible avoid this teacher, she pretends to be helpful; however, only helps her self. Does not assist the student with any additional advice. Makes excuses for lack of help and is very unprofessional. Run as fast as you can.
Dr. Cook is very helpful but you MUST go to class and not goof off. Write down everything she says and Study or you'll be lost. Its best to get into a study group before exams. She gives some extra credit and curves almost every exam. Not a class for slackers.. if you want to do well, you will.
Had her for property and she wasn't as bad as everyone says. She repeats the things that appear on the test most of the time. Have to go to class, for random quizzes which i think are just for attendance. You dont always have to read the book, but it helps. Take good notes and you probably dont have to read the book. Taking her for torts now.
Really wasn't all that bad of a class, you do have to read though or you will not get an A...I haven't tried in the class really at all and I will prolly get a B
The class was easy, you do keep busy though. She is a very nice lady. The only thing I didn't like about the class was the big-government/communist ideals being pushed down our throats. If your a liberal or a big government person you will love this class. Me, personally I believe in following the U.S. Constitution, not the U.N.
I really didn't like this class. I feel I learned quite a bit though. I got a B and I did not try that hard. I never read when you should. I also missed nearly every pop-quiz and failed the one or two I did take that are at the start of class in the morning. Tests are kinda hard but you can cram and she does curve a lil.Take her only if you must.
DO NOT TAKE HER!! I had her for property and real estate law and it was miserable. I earned an A but only because I studied for no less than 15 hours a week. She does not explain concepts well, the class moves at a rediculously fast pace and she is not helpful. She expects you to know everything in the book before you start the course. STAY AWAY
This class is interesting for real world problems for which you will eventually need to know. The first test is pretty hard and then you have quizzes/test throughout the semester that vary in hardness, but the number of tests does give you a chance to improve your grade. I took the night class, but would really recommend the shorter classes.
Probably one of the worst teachers I've had my entire life. Her tests were not hard but the her grading is rediculous. I showed her directly from the text book that the answer I put on one of the tests was right and she came up w/ some crazy excuse that didnt make sense. People say shes nice, but that doesnt mean shes a good teacher. AVOID!
If you plan on continuing your legal education, take her. She's not only my professor for Torts, but I'm taking her for Property as well, and she's my advisor. I listen to what she says, read what she says to read, and take what she says to take? Why? 1)She practiced law2)She knows her stuff 3) She tests you on what she wants you to know. Go figure
great educator/ advisor
She is a decent professor. Test only cover 2 chapters at time, there are 6. She gives extra credit, curves the test grades, and repeats important concepts about 3 times. There's not much more you can ask for. Reading the book helps but you can pass without it.
I took her for property and got a B. if you're going to law school you absolutely have to take her. one piece of advise, do not under any circumstances get on her bad side. she holds a grudge and she will make your life very difficult if you piss her off
This is one of the best professor ever. Took her for Property. The subject is hard so you need to study a lot. She is really fair when she grades the tests. If you are not interested in learning and want an easy class then this class is not for you because there is no time to fool around.
I took Dr. Cook's property class in summer and it was a DRAG but she is really funny! I took her again the following fall for torts and it was a bit more tolerable. She has a good personality and is really helpful. Take her if you're good at starting off on your own and can tune out boring lectures but still learn from the book.
I took Dr. Cook for both Torts and Property at the same time. The material can be difficult at times so it is VERY important to go to class. I enjoyed both of her classes and received A's in both. You HAVE to read the book and notes to understand the material. Contrary to belief, you can get A's in her class if you work hard for them like I did.
Dr. Cook was not too bad. She lectures from the first minute of class until the last and tends to give a TON of notes so you better come ready for that. Tests have true and false questions that can be very misleading. You will probably still learn quite a bit but the class is not easy and the material can be really boring at times.
I took Dr Cook for property and got a B Never have I worked harder for a B in my life She is a great teacher If you miss class find the notes asap there are a lot of them and if you fall behind you are in big trouble DON'T get on her bad side because she will make an example out of you her tests are not hard but she will not listen to corrections
I took Dr. Cook 3 years ago for Torts and Property. I can honestly say that no other teacher prepared me for law school more than Dr. Cook.
I personally did not enjoy this class because Mrs. Cook's style of teaching is boring to me. Everything is taught off of powerpoints and you may or may not have time to copy the slides. However, it was very easy. If you memorize definitions and examples when studying for tests, and attend class you should have no problem.
Took her for property and the class was not that bad. You need to go to class and also read the book but if you do that you'll get at least a B. Her lectures move pretty fast so be prepared to pay attention. Also, she does a review before each exam emphasizing what will be on the test.
Dr. Cook is great. Yes her classes are tough, but you come out learning a lot, and she is always able to answer any questions. If you get anything lower than a B, then you are doing something wrong. Go to Dr. Cook, and she will help you with anything you need. Make sure you read the chapters. You cannot get by without reading!
This class is NOT as hard as i heard it was going to be. Just simply go to class and take good notes and study. The tests are straightforward and there are opportunities for extra credit. If i could get an A, anyone can.
She reminds me of my sixth grade teacher...talking to you like you are an idiot with her stupid stories. Take this class online or with anyone else. She is very disrespectful towards students.
TRICK QUESTIONS on every test. She is not very helpful and in a way not welcoming to questions. Take at your own risk.
Kathy Cook is very textbook and prepares you for her property law exams by way of NOTES, notes and more, NOTES! Don't buy the book, just read florida RE law statutes and then her notes. She didnt like me on a personal level bc I didnt goto class much but..Still got an A, & understood everything easily. You can easily pass the florida agent exam NP
Brace yourself. You might just die of boredom in Dr. Cook's class. She talks about anything and everything, yet none of it is relevant. Does not have a class schedule, so you never know when anything is due until she tells you. Got an A in the class. But it was tough staying awake.
Dr. Cook is "talked" about as being a hard teacher but she's really not. Attend class, pay attention and you will do fine! She wants students who care and if you dont' then neither will she. She's awesome for capstone. Its been really interesting. You have assignments but she gives you ample time to do them. Pretty easy!
DON'T MISS CLASS. she will not send out notes. There is a lot of textbook to notes combination. She will tell you whats on the test REALLY QUICKLY, the class before the test at the very end. So you NEED to be in class day before test. Plus you need to buy an app for $40 membership because she has quizzes and takes attendance every class.
Straight forward and nice lady. Goes over tons of material so take very good notes and study a little each day. It's a tough subject but she tries to make it easy. Not an easy A but doable with a lot of studying. This subject would be hard with anyone. She is a great professor. I am taking two more classes with her.
This is my second class with Dr. Cook and I do not regret it. I learned a lot in Capstone and she gives great feedback with an opportunity to correct you work. There is a midterm and final (which are both take home) and a simple research project and presentation. If you go to class and do the work, you are guaranteed an A.
Have questions? ALWAYS ASK!!!! Professor Cook does not have a problem answering questions! I loved taking her for property (not like I had a choice), but I enjoyed the class. Notes from the powerpoint and the book will be your guiding light! you can also visit her during office hours to clear up any confusion. BE ON TIME TO CLASS!!!
Professor Cook is an awesome lecturer, knows her stuff very well and is interesting. Tests are based on her lectures in class, top hat, and the book, and are usually 40-50 questions. You have to study, this isn't an easy A. She really loves hard working students, she definitely lets you know. Taking again for Property.
She knows her stuff but is very rude & condescending if you ask her any questions, even about a hard topic. She'll look at you like your stupid & make a show out of you in front of the class. Even if I study for days & pay attention in class her tests are extremely hard, be ready for trick questions and ones that contradict what she said in class.
I LOVE her! Her classes aren't easy but we're here to learn and you'll learn more than most classes you've ever taken. If you put in the work you will get an A no doubt. Just read the book, go to class, and take good notes. She is EXTREMELY helpful when applying to law school and with internships so get on her good side! Taking her for the 3rd time
Very difficult if you have other things in your life like a full time job. Dr. Cook does not respect your time and assumes that her class is your main focus. I spent more time on her class than all my others combined. I do not recommend her class to anyone who has a job. She is also very condescending and talks down to some students.
I love Dr. Cook! Be prepared for a challenge but absolutely worth it! She provides extra credit and is always available to speak with. She genuinely cares about all of her student!
The class isn't as hard as everyone says, I never studied and got an A. Also the fact that professor cook is so annoying makes me never want to take her for a class again. She says things all mixed up sometimes and if you try to correct her youre the one that's wrong. you have to pay $20 for an account just so she can take attendance. never again
