I took Bus 1, Phil 1 and Finance 1 with Miss Daruty she is an excellent teacher you must learn the material but she is a great teacher who makes the class interesting and a learning experience

Daruty is the best! She is smart, affable and really cares to impart the info. You won't be able to slide by in her class, but if you want an A, you'll get one!

Prof. Daruty is a great teacher. She really gives you every side of an issue and when it comes to tests, makes sure you have everything you need and gives you always, at least 2 weeks in advance to prepare outlines for your tests. Great experience here..

Wow, Just wow, best of the best and no one can come close. If you are looking for a good teacher this is it. Took her for 3 classes, I only took them because she taught them. She is an ethical individual and is extremely knowledgeable about her subjects.

Gives clear lectures, though it gets really boring. Shes an oldfashion teacher who knows the subject real well. She might get annoying but I recommend her because its pretty easy.

She is a very good teacher. She outlines everything for you at the board. The essays from the test are directly from those outlines. She also drops your lowest test grade. The projects for the class are pretty fun. 90% of the questions on the test come directly from the study guide, which she wrote.

This woman is awesome! She is definitely the best professor at Pierce! Very devoted to teaching to the students and loves what she does! Very rare. Tests are in class essays, but you get the questions ahead of time and can take outlines to her to make sure you are on the right track. Very very helpful during office hours. Daruty is an amazing teacher. Her class is always upbeat (even at 8 in the morning). She is very clear and outlines everything. She is one of those teachers that loves to teach which makes the class such a positive experience.

Extremely personally biased in her presentation of fundamental concepts. Later she's more "unbiased," but only within the initial framework she's established. Her responses to questions / challenges are riddled with textbook logical fallacies - ad populum, argument from consequence, and more. Dismissive of other philosophical traditions.

she is one of my favourite theachers she is very helful her outlines is very clear and the essays you can write it from her notes the final was long though four essays and 70 objective questions take her ull be glad two thumbs up.

Tough class if you have no background in Philosophy. She seems biased in her teaching but I don't really mind since for the most part I agreed with her to a certain extent. Lots of reading on confusing, cryptic Philosophy and her tests can be tough. She does let you bring in outlines for essays in advance which I never took advantage of.

She is very helpful if you listen. Be sure to attend class, copy the outlines off of the board & take extra notes that u will b sure to understand (her writting is pretty bad). She gives study guides ahead of time but she grades the essays pretty intensely. Be careful w/ the comments you make in class because she might just make you look a fool...

She is a very sharp teacher. She gives you notes and the notes will give you an A if you take them. She is fair and passionate. She gives you a very realistic picture of business. Take her for sure.

If you come to class everyday, and are nice to her, she will give you an A even if you are at a Low B. Her test come from study guide directly. If you memerize 80 questions and answers the day before the test, you are a 100% sure A!!!! SHE GIVES YOU THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO HER TEST PEOPLE!! Take her, go to class, get a study guide, and an A!!

Great Prof. but very hard if you do not read. Pay close attention and if you do not understand something just ask, If you dissagre with her you will regret it. 3 exams 2 essays on the first two exams and the final is 4 essays. Very hard teacher but a very good teacher. TAKE NOTES.

she messed up on my grade so nasty!!! she said that participation is a boost in grade i was there almost everyday and got a c, not only that she always late. i got a c,b+,b+ on my test and at least a c+ on my final and got a c in the class

Wonderful teacher! The best I have ever had! She is smart & interesting. Every test has two essays & the final has four. Read, read, read & work the Study Guide. Don't be late!

If you don't keep up with reading, don't take this class. She moves at a fast pace & reading is a MUST. You need to stay on top of your study guide, or you'll fall way behind. Tests are difficult, but she is a great lecturer & outlines everyhing. No homework. There's just a LOT of information to absorb. Don't take if you don't plan on working hard.

I loved this class! Although, she was pissed at the class because no one participated as she hoped. She's a good teacher. On her tests, she gives 5-8 questions (in advance), and you get to pick two and she gets to pick one. There's a lot of reading assignments, but she outlines each issue. I got an A in this class.

Great teacher!she explains everything and just ask a question if you don't understand something. She is really into what she teaches and that makes the class a whole lot more interesting.

she is extremely intelligent. her class was the only one i didnt drop last semester because i enjoyed the discussions so much. if you are one who comes to class every day, semi prepared and ready to participate, you will absolutely love and ace her class.

Here's the deal...great teacher who teaches as if it were a UC level class, but doesn't treat students as such. She takes roll EVERY TIME and gets really mad if you are even 5 minutes late or leave to go to the bathroom. Very helpful and understanding if you are willing to work. Take notes. Only 3 tests and final. Tests are mainly from her notes.

She's a little scary, very strict. Her grading was strict (harder than average) yet I got +93 on every exam. Honestly, don't need to read every single assignment. Just go to class! Not only does she like you more, but you learn way more than you can ever read. She has favorites, just be polite and listen. Study hard for exams. I got a 97 on final.

Here's what to expect: 3 midterms with MC, true/false, two essays. She gives you study guide to study and hint the essay questions in class. Trust me, do the study guide because the answers are there. She drop the lowest score. Accumulative Final so be prepare to learn everything again. Go fast pace but crystal clear. Easy to understand.

Hardest class I ever had but Daruty is the best prof. Read about 100p a week. Follow her outlines and don't forget to mention philosophers and put your argument in your essays and you'll do great. I go an 88+ on all mt tests and consider that quite an accomplishment. Fantastic discussions, great class. She really rocks!

Best teacher i know of so far at pierce. apparantly the only one i know that teaches extremely well. not an easy clas though, if you pay attention and take notes you should be fine plus you learn a lot from her. take any class that she teaches if you are majoring in business.

I checked this prof out here before I took the class and she is very good at what she does. She brings a great deal of energy to what could be a dry subject.Sit in front, read ahead, show up, and take notes. She teaches in outline format and all tests come from outlines. You also get the test topics in advance and she will help you make an A.Try it

One of the best and most interesting professors I know. She explains all her lectures well and makes it into life experiences. Not an easy class though, just pay attention and ask questions and you will be fine.

Professor Daruty is an AMAZING PROFESSOR! I just finished with our final this semester and as much as I wanted for this semester to end, I sure am going to miss this class! She is a very devoted teacher, who goes out of her way to teach students. If you read the assigned reading and come to class and copy the notes off the board the exams will be easy because EVERYTHING, includng the essay responses, are DIRECTLY off the notes.

I took Phil 1 and Ethics from her at Pierce. Great teacher. Use her help, sit in the front, pay attenion, show up for every class and take notes and the exams will write themselves.

You MUST go to every class because she gives you the outlines to the essays through the notes. Bottom line: study notes, go to class and bring your outlines to her and you'll get an A

Daruty is a great teacher. Although the subject matter of the class can be a bit complex and challenging at times, she does her absolute best to help you understand it better. I didnt have to read the textbook too much, because she gives VERY USEFUL notes. take good notes, they are VERY helpful in preparing for the tests.2 tests and a final.

Not too hard to get an A if u rad the study guide, the only bad thing was she was trying to cult students to support her political party, GOP

She is very passionate about money and how to save it. And this class was all about that, and her methods of money madness. It's a little irritating hearing her talk about her wealth, but it's neat to learn how she got there. Easy if you pay attention, I didn't look at the book once.

Her class is interesting class tough. However, you need to keep studying the study guide questions many times for better grades on upcoming exams. Well, I got "C" in this class, but it was my fault, not her fault. Anyways, She is very organized and helpful. She always tries her students to do well on final exam.

First off, i got an A. But she will make you work for it. She teaches very well and gives you all the notes you will need for the Multiple choice / Essays on the tests. The final However is all Essays, ten of them. She gives the outlines for the Tests/Final two weeks beforehand. Make sure to have her check your essays. She was a wonderful Teacher.

She takes points away for lack of attendence, she is great at answering your questions, though some students she picks on if she thinks they are rude. She had study guides in her finance 8 course - she says she always has study guides in her classes. I would reccommend her, fairly easy + fun

She is a great professor. It is easy to get an A or B in her class. The semester include: 2 exams, your financial plan worksheets, and a final exam. The exams are easy. Just make sure to take advantage of her study guides. Her exams also include 2 essay questions(final has 4). Don't worry they're easy. You'll learn a lot from her. Good luck!!

She will keep you awake! I love this teacher. She gave me a B on another class, but an A on this one. She ridicules those students who are show offs, I thought that was great. In a way she teaches humbleness :). I would recommend her anytime. Don't expect a free lunch!!
