Great teacher.
Great professor! Helps you understand the topic! Class is not boring, she keeps it very interesting and at times funny. Probably one of the most helpful professors. Class is great, she will help you get the grade you want and leave with a good amount of education :)
Worst professor to take during the summer. Tells you to read the chapter before class JUST TO READ THEM TO YOU IN CLASS AGAIN! Class was pointless because she got her exams from the internet and Masteringbiology. She didn't let you get her power points or your tests back even though it wasn't her own material. Avoid her
Kathy is an excellent professor but don't go into this class thinking that you won't have to work for the grade. You will get out of this class what you put into it!! Kathy expects her students to work hard and she lays that out during the first class. She tells you exactly what to do in order to succeed in this class and if you do it you will !!!
She is a wonderful instructor!! I just don't recommend taking this class as a full time student while working. The homeworkreading is time consuming. You need to pay attention. It is NOT an easy class.
One of the best teachers at Del Mar. The class is hard, but she will bend over backwards to help students understand the information. As long as you do the work and show that you are trying, she will work extra hard to make sure that you succeed. Take her!
One of my favorite teachers! This class is tough, age does not sugar coat this course. If you put in the time with the tools she gives you you will pass and get the grade you want. She wants you to pass and does care about her students.
1)great teacher 2) extra points from Map & few from Lab assignments ) 3 funny but very strict *don't take it in the summer or your head WILL EXPLODE!!!!!
Best teacher I have had thus far in college. She has a great spirit and encourages all of her students through out the semester. She is always there for you if you need help inside or outside of the classroom. If you make it to all lectures and pay attention you will succeed in her class. Not hard, just slightly time consuming.
She really cares for her students. Always responds to emails and is all for helping a student out in any way.
Best professor ever!! Helps you understand the hard things. Class is very interesting & fun. She believes in her students & makes you want to try hard & get a great grade. I wish I could take her class again!!! :)
A fantastic instructor. She is by far the best instructor I have ever had. She instills confidence in you. You definitely have to study to pass but her lectures & lab are very clear & the note set is amazing! Take her, you will be glad you did!!!
After a few classes it was clear that she strives for your success, but you have to EARN it! She will not put up with excuses. I would take her again hands down! if you lack self discipline you will not do well. She does her best to motivate you and guide you!
SHE. REALLY. CARES! Not an easy class but does her best to explain material in a way students can understand. Is very clear about expectations. Will re-explain material if it's not clear. Will always provide feedback when asked. Would DEFINITELY take her class again if I needed to. Absolutely recommend her!
She is amazing! she cares for your students and wants you to pass unlike other professors. You do have to study, come it's A&P but she makes it clear what you need to look at and what homework you need to do to pass. She is there to help you and will do all she can to get you where you are going. Would take her again!
I always knew that A&P I AND A&P II were tough courses, but I never knew that there were so many techniques that could help pass this class and enjoy while doing it. Like every college course, reading the chapters (ahead of time and actually absorbing the material) really does help. Participate, show up and stay for lab & lecture, tests aren't bad.
You may be intimidated by her at the beginning of the semester, but by the end, you'll wish you could take A&P 2 with her! She really prepares you for A&P 2 and even other classes you're preparing to take with her study techniques, relaxation techniques, etc. She most certainly makes you work, but hey, that's how good grades are made!
She has a passion for anatomy and it shows in her lectures. Very clear on everything you need to know. She gives plenty of extra credit all semester long. She enforces great study habits. If you are passionate about your education, she will see to it that you succeed.
Follow her noteset, READ THE TEXTBOOK, study like she tells you to, and you'll do fine. She's very easy to understand. Though she does get upset if you don't make an effort in her class. I wish she would teach 2402
If she taught AP2 at Del Mar I would have been enrolled! She makes you work for your grade and might be a little strict but she definitely TEACHES you and shows you ways to be a better student. She is very helpful when it comes to clarifying subject matter and any other questions you have. Absolutely loved her!
I took her class this last semester and wish she tought A&P2. I was honestly nervous at first going into this class because of how difficult I heard A&P is, but she made this class enjoyable to learn. She is very clear on grading. Tests were tough but if you study they are a breeze. Study groups help a lot as well.
This class so far was a disappointment. Comes late to class and leaves early. She goes on tangents. She doesn't use anatomical terminology. Skips important chapters. Teaches the same thing multiple times. She has tests questions that she' v never lectured about. Her lectures a full of mockery. She doesn't reply to email. Do not recommend her
So did not like her A&P 2. Has been 15 mins late to every class EVEN test days, does not teach material, simply reads what we read in the book, goes over old information more than new information. Tests are easy enough if you memorize the quizzes. Don't go to class and I still perform as well as people who attend every day.
She is almost always late to class. Sometimes gives incorrect info (my SI had to correct her at least twice). RARELY responds to emails. Her tests are really scattered- I never knew exactly what to study. There was nothing professional about her class. Would get distracted talking about irrelevant topics. I did not learn as much at all.
Will make you work for the grade you want. Read before class to know what lecture will be about. Very passionate about her teaching and is willing to help for anything even if it not A&P. Prepares you for upper level classes w/ nursing. You get what you pay for and you will walk out knowing what you need to know.
Long lectures, long tough tests, read your textbook and your lecture note set. Advice would be to attend SI and do all extra credit opportunities.
Most unprofessional professor I've ever taken. Always late to class and required students to stay after class to finish copying down test information. Gave incorrect info. on what would be on the test. Never responded to emails. Office hours were a joke. I only survived this class because of an awesome SI that basically served as our instructor.
Super easy class! Before we took one test she went over the whole thing all you had to do was listen and you would get a good grade. Her labs were so easy she would make sure to tell you what was going to be on each lab practical. As for her lecture, that was another story, it's all basically powerpoint and it's a little confusing and dry.
She is very upbeat and excited to teach biology. I feel the only problem was she would give an over load of too much information in lecture instead of focusing on what will be on the test. The test reviews did not help. Although i found that some questions are used from mastering a&p website, so take as much advantage of that as you can
Not a very good lecturer or lab teacher - rude and condescending when asked questions. Frequently late. Goes off on meaningless tangents. On the flip side, she dumbs the material down and has very easy lecture tests. The opportunity for extra credit is enormous and she really does care about her students. Amazing SI made up for the lectures
She is easy to understand and has no problem trying to explain things in a way each student can understand. Be prepared to study and earn your grade, but you will have a good time doing it!
At first I was so overwhelmed because we had so much information to learn within a short period of time. she was able to break things down. Awesome professor ,I learned alot, make sure you attend the SI session though. Getting an A+ was so easy, all you have to do is stay focused and listen to instructions.
A&P is one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken. I had fair notice of the amount of work involved. If you work hard, an A is very possible. The class is great in preparation for further nursing classes. She is very caring and fun. She loves what she does. I highly recommend her course! She offers so many opportunities for extra credit!
She has good intentions, but I think she gets carried away on insignificant details. SI WAS A GRADE SAVER! Just focus on the lecture noteset to do well on lecture tests, and the lab practicals are cake if you just study.
Loved her lectures, She was fair with grading and her expectations of the students are well explained. Would take her again. LOVED LOVED this class!!!
Great professor, very passionate and really, really cares about her students. Highly recommend! I wish she taught 2402 because she would definitely be my first choice. Attend all labs, she gives small extra credit here and there. She also gives helpful review sheets online that narrow down what we need to focus on and study.
Anatomy and Physiology 1. Love her! she is funny and odd but in a good way. makes class interesting. this subject is very hard to begin with. but if you put time into studying and making flash cards, ect, you will get an A. the homework assignments help you learn/study along with boosting your grade.
She was a lovely teacher and I learned so much from her classes. I took this class during a summer session and it was fast. Keeping up with the course work was a challenge but so worth it! Loved lab and the challenges that came with praticals. Would not change my experience in her class for anything. I really feel as though it prepared me for A&P 2
As long you do your part at home, you will definitely pass this class. This is my second time taking the course in a few years and definitely seeing a difference.
Kathy is awesome, she truly cares about the success of her students and will teach you how to succeed. If you you read and take notes, her class isn't hard at all. I highly recommend taking any of her classes!
Ms Kathy is truly a great teacher to have. She is caring, funny, and tries her best to make lecture enjoyable. She shows tough-love but it's because she wants the best from her students. She is a great teacher to have for a first biology class. Open note tests. Pop quizzes, but she hints that they are coming up. Highly recommend.
The Professor made me feel more confident of a student after her class. Not only was her class completely fair with a study guide for each exam given, but she also would give study tips for each exam that I will be sure to use in the future. Plus she's incredibly sweet, if you study every day-other A, if not the class will be tough.
She gives good feedback, she cares about all her students! Shes strict, but she helped me succeed in the class.
She made my time in Anatomy & Physiology a very enjoyable . She helps you actually understand the material and relates a lot of it to real world scenarios. She really cares about her students success. You do need to put the effort in to get a good grade but it is totally possible and worth it. Would definitely recommend her.
Took this class in the spring and loved going to class. She sincerely cares about every person in her class. Her passion for Biology reflects in the way she teaches and she has great taste in music. She gives random pop quizzes. If you read and do your notes, you cannot fail.
Great teacher! Plenty of chances for extra credit, great study and relaxation tips, gives feedback and tips on how to remember and learn the material. Definitely recommend!
Professor Kathy was by far the best instructor I've had the privilege to meet! I took this class trying to get into Med School in the past and struggled, since it is a difficult subject, but Professor Kathy did a great job simplifying it all. She doesn't make attendance mandatory, but she does have pop quizzes that could cripple your gradeif noshow
Professor D develops a real connection with her students. She is patient, caring, and kind. Her dedication to students shows in how she engages the students in class. This is not an easy A. You will have to work for it, but you will gain so much knowledge in the end.
I honestly had a difficult time in the beginning, but this professor helps and truly cares for her students ! I passed ! And the extra credit really does make a difference !
One of my favorite teachers! As a dual credit student, I was terrified, but she made me feel at home and really created an atmosphere for us to all bond together. She offers TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT and had an amazing SI leader to help us every step of the way! She made us laugh, feel appreciated, and worked with those who were struggling. Loved her.
A&P is a tough subject. Professor D is so passionate in her labs and lectures. Shes been thru the same stresses so she understands and will help you understand too! I rearranged my work schedule to take her and now registered for AP2 with her! Take Professor D. Shes tough on you because she knows you will succeed if you just do the work!
Need to make sure you have the homework done. Absolutely do not have your phone out.
Overall, Professor D was a wonderful professor. She always tried to help us figure out ways to remember the information and I love that she gave extra credit options! As long as you do the homework and study, you will definitely pass the class! Just absolutely do not be on your cell phone.
If you need help she'll do everything to help you understand the material. She gives you a lot of resources (MAPS, homework, reading, one on one) to make sure you will pass her class. She wants you to pass just put in the work and you will. By far the most caring professor I've had.
Ms. D loves her work, loves her class, and LOVES Anatomy & Physiology. She's very caring, but stern. She will help out in any way she can to get her students to understand and make the material stick. Pay attention, do the work, read the material, study, print out any and everything she provides and you will pass. NO CELL PHONES. Take her!!
I loved taking Her class shes an amazing teacher. She truly cares for her students and goes out of her way to make sure you understand and will help you every step of the way if you have to take A&P 1 or 2 please take her class you will not be disappointed!!
I would absolutely take this class again! She is the most caring professor Ive ever had and without a doubt loved what she does. She truly wants you to learn and understand the material. Shes great about answering emails and always open to answering questions.
She was an amazing professor. She helped me so much and her teaching technique is spot on. I highly recommend her to anyone to who needing a little more explanation when being taught this course
Mrs D is hands down the best professor I have had in a long time! I was faced with health obstacles this semester and she was very understanding and worked with me as long as I put in the work. She loves her students and A&P. Print out everything she posts, read the chapter reviews & text BEFORE each class. Would highly recommend her to anyone.
Best professor ever. Follow her instructions about studying and homework. Really easy to follow and lab was soo much easier to remember all those body parts. Just listen to her and visit the SI leader Lisa. I had doubts at the beginning about being good in lab, but trust me the professor knows how to keep you remembering. Just do your part.
First time having her as a professor for A&P2 only regret not taking her for A&P 1 as well she is awesome makes learning fun and interesting encourages participation and does assign homework and reading all very helpful !
Very nice professor, very caring and offers credit!
Very passionate teacher who genuinely wants the best for her students. She doesn't stand for cell phone usage during class, incomplete homework, or non participation. She will call you out so be prepared! Lots of extra credit is offered. She is very open and welcomes questions. I studied roughly 8-12 hours for each exam.
Kathy LOVES A&P and loves her students. She is passionate about what she teaches and is always willing to go above and beyond as long as you put forward the effort. If you care enough, there is no reason you should drop or fail her class.
You really have to pay attention and work hard to understand the content to pass this class. Make friends and form study groups to help keep on track. Talking about it with a study group helps so much. Take advantage if you have an SI. The instructor is strict but greatly cares for her class. I recommend!
Mrs. D is an amazing professor. She is kinda stern and strict but it comes from the heart. You have to read the textbook and take advantage of the study group sessions. Make sure you show up to every lecture and lab or she will call you out on it the next day. And absolutely NO PHONES IN LECTURE AND LAB. She will call you out if she sees you phone.
She has no understanding for any hardships you may experience. After the Coronavirus hit my wifi got shut off as my husband got laid off on his job and we were unable to pay our bill. I was a day late on a lab assignment and we live an hour an a half away from any family and the school, told me I shouldve been responsible enough to figure it out.
I was nervous to get back into the swing of things since I graduated back in 2011. She was very straight forward and pretty intense at times. I did enjoy her class and would take her again only if Long is full. If you do the work you'll get a good grade.
Horrible online professor! I am essential stuck having to teach myself. There is zero lecture and good luck getting feed back or getting her to respond to any questions. Assignments are posted at 3 am on the day they are due and labs do not correspond with lecture material. Classes going to online with COVID she has no business being a teacher!
Very kind and helpful; compassionate and caring to her students; motivates her class to be on top of it.
I really wanted a good experience with this professor- but she was a week late starting the course. We had 6 weeks squeezed into 5. Two lecture exams in the same week. While she gave amazing extra credit, it was still hard to achieve in a summer course online. I recommend not having responsibilities outside this class especially in the summer.
I took her Summer 2 and I liked her a lot. She is a night owl and post assignments in the middle of the night. Her class was fairly easy. She also provides quizlets to most (if not all) of the words that you need to know for lab. She gives up to 50 extra credit points, which help a lot! My best advice is to do a lot of lecture review on MAP.
Amazing professor in all categories. 100% recommend. Zero issues with communication and what was needed to succeed in class.
Requires that you buy 4 different books, online access to where she posts assignments, and a webcam for tests if you do not already own one. Very no nonsense and seems to care little for anything else you might have happening outside of her class. Doesn't post things ahead of time, leaving you in the dark for the most part.
Has you buy her own study guides plus the textbooks, complains about any detail that isn't perfect and tends to be rude in her messages. Actually teaches very little and expects you to get everything from the textbooks and her bought study guides. Only grades tests but expects you to do everything.
I took her summer 2, and she was very behind on schedule. 2 lecture exams were posted in the same week, which barely gave any time to study properly. I do NOT recommend taking anatomy online during the summer, you barely have time to do other things. There's a lot of material to cover, a fall or spring semester is best.
For anybody thinking of taking this BIO2401 online, I don't recommend it. Don't get me wrong she is so sweet but I don't think she should be teaching an online class. She uploads things around 2 am and expects you to finish it by the next day. Also, all exams will be proctored & no notes are allowed. And did not give us a final study guide to use..
I absolutely love Mrs. D. She is by far the best professor I have ever had period.. She cares if you care. You show her you want it and she will do whatever it takes to get you there. She would give me pep talks and really helped build my confidence that I could do anything. I wouldn't be where I'm currently at without her.
10/10, exceptional class + prof- You have to work hard and put the time and effort in, but that's to be expected, especially in an college level Anatomy and Physiology class. One thing that really helped me was re-watching the lectures time and time again! She gives you all the materials, all you have to do is utilize the materials given to you!
She is a great & caring teacher! Its a hard class over all but just study, she provides study guides to help you with each exam and for the lab practical she provides pictures/worksheets to help you! If you dont try of course you wont do well , this is truly an easy class if you try your best! If you need help just ask:) her!
Pt.2 She inspired me to keep going, even things were getting tough. You wont find many teachers who really care about the student. She is an amazing teacher and anyone would be glad to be enrolled in this class. In lecture during exams she would remind us to breathe& she would give us inspiring quotes b4 each exam. I loved her class!!!!
She is one of the best teachers that I have had during my college experience. I cannot express how much I love this class and the way she teaches. She makes sure to treat each student with respect. She has a quality of teaching that you can't find anywhere else. I highly recommend taking her class.
She was amazing she puts in the time to make sure you learn everything needed. She communicates with her students and appreciates hard work! She gives you many opportunities to raise your grade and makes this hard course sustainable. If you are willing to put in the time and effort you will succeed in her classes.
Professor Kathy is one of the best professors Ive had. The syllabus is clear and was on schedule. She gives you the opportunity to receive bonus points with MyLab quizzes. She also puts up detailed lecture and lab videos as well as quizlets. She replied to all my emails on a timely manner ! Best decision for a teacher ! 10/10
I loved this professor. She was absolutely amazing and very caring. I will definitely be taking more classes with her. Its always great to know a teacher cares about her students.
DO NOT expect this class to be an easy A. She has high expectations when it comes to memorizing and spelling, but that is to be expected in this course. You WILL put in MANY hours a week learning material in addition to her lectures. She will go above & beyond to help you if you have questions about the material, but you HAVE to put in the effort.
This class is very heavy on memorization, but the tips she gave in the beginning of class were very helpful. The professor will be there to assist you always. There is also a lot of reading which will take up most of your time. Lectures will help you understand the information in the textbook. I highly advice to read ahead.
I honestly dont recommend her shes all over the place & nothing was organized. She would just one day tell you 10 pages of h/w from the lab manual was due 1 to 1.5 day in advance b/c no syllabus w/ due dates, exam dates etc was given. Requires MAP when I see no point to it, it didnt help for the way she has her exams. Choose another professor!
Professor D honestly has been my best teacher yet in college. She taught effective studying methods that improved my grades dramatically. Obviously, she does expect time and effort out of her students, which is a priority for this class, but she's been the most genuinely caring and considerate teacher. I highly recommend her class!
This course is nowhere near easy but Kathy made it very easy to learn and want to know more. This was a very hard semester for me as I lost several immediate family members one after another during the semester. She was very caring to help me continue to push through when I was ready to give up. She really is one of a kind for sure.
I would rather have waited a semester if I would've known how this teacher can be. everything is due at 1930, which isn't the easiest when it comes to students that work. 6 lecture exams & 4 lab exams, 50 questions for each test. You are pretty much 100% teaching yourself. If youre ok teaching yourself practically everything, this teacher will work
Kathy is a very caring inspirational professor. This class was my first real class in college. I was very nervous taking this class because as many students say it is a tough class, but it is possible to make an A because I did that. Kathy respects her students and cares for them I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Such a great professor! She truly cares for her students and wants them to succeed. The lectures clearly conveyed information and she provided us with all the materials needed for exams and practicals (study guides, PowerPoints, Quizlets), we just had to do our part and study. Definitely recommend!
I took her this fall semester fully online. She is by far one of the better teachers I have had. Be prepared to do your work, study and hold yourself accountable. This class does take effort. She is very responsive and encouraging. I wish I had taken her for AP1. If you're looking to learn and with a great prof, this class is for you.
Professor Dickinson was great, she gives her expectations for the class first day. So if you follow the success guide and actually do the work you will pass. If I had put in extra effort I could have gotten an A but I slacked off at the end.
Great instructor, her lecture videos helped to understand the textbook. A couple of chapters with several pages to read can be really daunting, but watching her lecture videos and other video resources she provides makes the topic understandable. Time management and a smart study strategy is all it takes to pass and succeed in this course.
Anatomy is already a difficult subject but Professor Dickinson made it fun to learn. There are homework assignments before exams that are easy credit. read, study a bit every day and you'll do well. I definitely recommend taking this class with her. however, I will say, don't take this class with other difficult classes.. that was my mistake.
Professor Dickinson was very disorganized from the first day. She took days to finally release the syllabus. This was a very stressful way to start my semester. Her way of grading seems very odd and to be honest really lazy.
Prof. Dickinson is great about posting full lectures and videos on canvas in case you need to read/listen to lecture at your own pace. She gives extra credit for attendance and with MAP quizzes. Most importantly, you get a reference sheet (write down any/everything) for every exam and two sheets for the final! You can email her any time for help!
Not very organized, and rambles a bit during lectures. Be prepared to read the whole textbook. I would take her class again because I am used to how she does things now. She also cares about her students who actually show up to the classes. Overall, not the best and not the worst professor I have had.
Professor Dickinson truly gives her students every tool to succeed in her class. I know I could have made an A if I truly applied myself. She gives amazing lectures and meets the main points of the material. I would definitely take her again because of her caring and fun nature as well as the resources she provides such as SI instructors,
Does not allow you into lab if the printouts are not completed. Does not cultivate a learning atmosphere.
Took 3 weeks to input a test grade that she promised would be in within 3 days.....a paper that she made US GRADE?? Such a lazy professor and the SI instructor named Yoseph educated us way more than she even attempted to do. I have mentally illness and this class honestly ruined so much progress I had in self-worth. She has 0 care or empathy.
Professor Dickinson truly cares for her students and gives them every tool to Succeed. She guides you to learn, and meditate throughout the semester, which seems odd but truly works. However make sure to study, write notes, and take as many practice tests because this subject does require effort.
Dr. Dickinson is a teacher that stresses the importance of learning the material. Worksheets must be completed before entering lab or you will be dismissed, this is stressed in the syllabus. A handwritten reference sheet is allowed for each exam. Effort must be made on the students part to succeed in this course, and that is doable!
Mrs. Dickinson is a good teacher, she gives good study tips all semester long. She does go on many rants during her lectures about things that do NOT relate to the topic we are on. I cannot stress how strict she is on grading, she follows an all or nothing approach on grading. Miss one thing on an assignment, the whole assignment is a zero.
Best professor I have ever had!!! She really cares and want her students to succeed!!! I took an other professor for the course and couldn't get it, taking it with her made it easier to comprehend! She keep me motivated and am so happy I was able to complete this course with a passing grade! :)
This an instructor that wants you to learn. Plus she gives you so much more to take with you into your career field. If you can manage your time and listen to her advice you will make a A.
This is my all time favorite professor!!! She really changed the way I look at life and taught me the right way to truly learn. Obviously, for this course you have to put in work but to pass all you have to do is pay attention to the professors instructions!! TAKE THIS COURSE!! She is truly amazing!
Great class! The material can be over whelming but if you use the tools she gives you and read what she assigns for everything it is easy to pass. She does not play with deadlines, so make sure you do not miss any assignments. Dickinson is very caring and a wonderful professor, I would definitely recommend this class to anyone and everyone!
Mrs. Dickinson was a funny, inspiring, and helpful teacher that just wanted her students to succeed and get people prepared for the medical field. She taught me ways of studying and overall managing my time in college and provided as much as she could for her tests. The only downside is that she's very specific on grading of homework
She has a great attitude and is caring. The class is reading heavy but you can find most of what you need from the highlights at the end of the chapter. She allowed us to use journals on tests which helped so much. Her tests are extremely hard but if you write good notes from her PP and textbook, you'll do good.
Taking 2401 & 2402 with Prof. Dickinson was a privilege. Without devoting sufficient time & effort, this course will prove to be quite challenging. Follow her explicit directions& you'll be fine! I recommend her highly! She allows lecture reference sheets during exams, which are quite helpful. I promise that she only wants the best for her students
This class is a TOUGH class, but it's so worth it. I couldn't have asked for a better professor, she's strict with her rules but she genuinely cares about your success. I can't recommend her enough, she's not only guided me in learning the class's content but has also helped me develop overall better study habits. She's one of my favorite teachers.
BEST professor. Attend every lecture extra credit is given on a random lecture day. Efforts will be recognized. The MOST structured out of all of the A&P professors. Lecture exams have a bonus BIG HELPFUL thing that she will allow you to do, you'll see what I mean. Hmwk isn't a big deal just follow her instructions easy 100
Kathy Dickinson is a very good teacher. Skill of discipline is required for this class. You will have homework & must turn in on time. Follow instructions & time management is a must. Random bonus points for showing up to class. There is bonus points for lecture exam & lab practical test. She is funny. She is caring. She is my favorite teacher.
She was late everyday to lab/lecture. Held us late after class on test days/doesn't care if you have other classes. Rude/shames ppl but says its tough love(not). Self study is PURELY why I passed. Gave pgs of HW/ will give you a 0 for something trivial. And ANOTHER 10 pgs to label to be ALLOWED in class, even though we label them together during.
She will treat the class as if you are in elementary school, sometimes. Her class is heavily reading based, she will give you a chapter to read and pop a quiz on you a day later over it. You can use notes on her quizzes + exams, with some restrictions. She is often late to her classes (never more than 20 mins), which was stressful on exam days.
Mrs. Dickinson! is the best I had the privilege to take her class BIOL 2401&BIOL 2402 First get ready to learn your mind off lol. Don't be on your cell. Read directions on the homework "All or nothing" Use your reference sheet. Always ask for extra credit on practical's ^_~ EX:Digits/phalanges Very caring teacher wants you to learn. The best!!.
Great professor! Very knowledgeable and cares about the students. Lol make sure you don't drop the Anatomical models!! don't be on your phone, study time management is a must. Go to the venture's building and have extra study time in the anatomy room. Enjoyed the breathing techniques before taking a big test. Lovely professor!
She's great and really cares if you pass or not. She is strict about phones and instructions but makes the class super fun and if you just follow her instructions then she's super easy. She also gives you tips on how to study which really help and she lets you have a cheat sheet for exams if you and your whole class pay attention in lectures.
doesn't teach DONT take her
I struggled a lot, and very time-consuming. If you are bad at studying then this class will shape you up. Lab practicals you must spell everything correctly or else it will be wrong. The lecture exams are difficult but she allows you to have a review sheet for them. If she says to print papers please print. She won't allow you in class if you don't
When taking Prof Dickinson, she made me think about what I want to pursue in the future. She gives it to you straight, the amount of work you put into your work and in the class shows how much you want to work in the medical field. She opened my eyes to a different side of studying and work ethic.
Best professor I've had at Del Mar, allows reference sheets on exams, lab practicals are straight forward and were very easy to get a 100 on, very easy to pass the class as long as you study
Great Professor! Teaches you responsibility & gets you ready for your future if you are interested in getting into a program that requires work. Super informative and inspiring. Ready to motivate you to try your hardest. Gives you work but it is worth it so you learn the material that is much needed.
Professor Dickinson makes A&P enjoyable and comprehensible with her unique approach. She's straightforward about her expectations so exams and assignments are easy if you do the work and follow her advice. Time management really matters in this course. She truly cares about your success and is the kindest soul, you wont regret taking her class.
Great professor and really cares about her students. She is pretty "by the book" but that can be a good thing, as long as you complete your work on time. She is also pretty lenient with extra credit on your practical's if you give her an answer that's more than needed. The best part is that she lets you use a reference sheet on your lecture exams!
Kathy Dickinson is amazing and very involved with her students. She is very animated and her passion is clearly shown in her lectures. She cares about her students and wants everyone to earn a great grade. She not only sees her students as such, but as colleagues as well. She wants everyone to learn and succeed. Amazing woman she is 100% recommend.
Professor Dickinson runs a tough but rewarding class. Her specific methods may seem strict, but they push you to learn. Using Unstuck AI alongside the textbook really helped me grasp the content. Definitely take this course if you're up for the challenge.
She's late EVERYDAY 5-15 minutes. Uses the first 30-45 min of class to ramble on stuff that is irrelevant to class. She's “all or nothing” grader. Anything blank or misspelled is a zero. She bullies students repeatedly over trivial things but claims “ we're all friends here” idk how so many people like her. She's the worst prof out of my 3 yrs here
Idk how a lot of people like this professor. Don't get me wrong, I have a good grade in the class. However, a lot of this came from teaching myself. She rambles during lecture on random things and does not go into much great detail. Then, on the test, it is quite in depth as she expects you to basically read the entire textbook on your own.
Professor Dickinson is very knowledgeable, and you can tell she loves to teach BUT she is very strict on her grading. If you leave something blank on assignments or forget to add a period, a page or add the number of sentences she requires she WILL mark it as a 0. She rambles on during lectures with things that don't pertain to topic. good luck!
I have absolutely enjoyed having Professor Dickinson as my professor. She may run a tight ship with her strict grading and what not, but that's all in hopes of preparing her students for the programs they're going into. She wants to see her students succeed and if you put in the time and work, it isn't all that bad. Overall, I would take her again!
Started this semester out incredibly worried, ended up being a breeze thanks to the clear cut and dry feedback. Utilize S.I sessions, Mastering pearson quizzes and study area. Consequently, if you arent measuring up to the standards of excellence you will be made aware. Great teacher, would definitely reccomend you to take this teacher for 2402.
First of all, never expect anything to be handed to you this course requires students with hard work ethic and dedication. Professor Dickinson is one smart lady with a beautiful passion for teaching. She literally gives you step by step instructions on how to be successful. Take her advice and work hard, easily get a A. Challenging but worth it!
So she has a lot of homework but she is smart when u do them it's bonus points AND you learn you get a head start in her lectures! She has SI which helps go atleast once a week! Follow her instructions and you WILL pass! Amazing teacher!
A&P is a content heavy class no matter which professor you take. Prof Dickinson tells you exactly what to do to make an A in the class. It's a lot of work but it's not hard if you follow her guide. I also like that she has the tests set up to know your grade right away. She cares for her students a lot and also teaches valuable life skills.
I took her class years ago. Definitely left an impact on me, and to this day I think she's the best professor I ever had. Super positive and intelligent and passionate about her work.
She is an awesome teacher who you can tell actually enjoys her job, and is respectful. The class isn't easy so be ready to work, especially if you want an A. You will have to put a lot of time into studying for this class and the homework but it is worth it, as you actually learn the material. Go to the SI study sessions daily, they are key to an A
She's not the worst but, can definitely be better. Strict with her grading rubric, but takes forever to actually grade the assignment. Can be unnecessarily rude sometimes. Always late to class and talks a lot instead of lecturing. The only good things is that she allows a "cheat-sheet" on tests and gives participation grades on lab assignments.
Takes a lot of your time.
Taking A&P1 for the 2nd time. Mrs. Dickinson explains great study techniques, that is proven to pass! Although I did score a B. The A was definitely achievable! I had a lot of personal things that came in the way. I wanted to quit many times but I stuck it out and passed! Mrs. Dickinson is the best professor and I can't wait to Ace A&P2.
Lots of enthusiasm and passion for class content and more importantly student success. Demands a lot by way of hand written homework assignments and class participation but it served to truly learn the material instead of simply memorizing. A bonus to this class is gaining study and test taking skills that will help you succeed in future programs.
She is very strict and structured, but if you do the work and show up you will do well. If you show up to every class, you will be recognized and rewarded. Follow instructions and go to every class, and every assignment and you will make a high grade.
If you're looking for a mentor who will prepare you for not only your program's demands and future course work, but also your career you've found her. I've yet to find another professor as passionate about the success of her students than her, she'll give everyone a fair chance, it's ultimately up to you to take it. Aways follow directions!
Amazing professor. I took her for A&P I and II and she is truly worth it. She cares deeply about her students and their success. If you stay devoted she notices and rewards effort. Show up, work hard, and her teaching will carry you beyond the classroom into your future profession. She inspires confidence and pushes you to grow. Every step matters
She was the best A&P professor I have ever taken at Del Mar. I took her class for both 1&2 , she is very easy going and straight forward as long as you follow her instructions and trust her studying methods you will succeed. Overall You will enjoy the class and see why everyone admires her by the end of the semester.
