All we do is copy notes of the transperancy. She lectures for 40min straight then lets you leave 10min early. Very boring, doesn't make history intersting AT ALL. Watch out!
she easy notes on blackboard
Very BORING!!! Easy teacher, not hard to pass her class. She confusses her self alot and does not know what she is talking about half the time. She is nice and has a good personality though.

Very good teacher will help you if you ask. people who didnt like her is because those are the same people who did not study.
I hate this class she is very boring I dred going everyday
I hate this teacher she is very boring and the stuff she teaches does not be on the test please
Her lectures are confusing but she lets you know exactly what you need to know. No essay questions!!!If you can't figure how to pass her class...Drop out of school and go work at McDonalds. I recommend her to all.
This teacher is not easy even though she is a nice person. Her class is very hard u might get bored easily though. If u study u should do well.
She does not know what she is talking about half of the time and she is boring. most of the time she just talks she doesn't have anything that catches your attention.

Whoever said mrs.dugas will help you lie she will not help you even if you are a few points from a passing grade DON'T take her if you don't want to be bored to death.
anyone who fails her class does not study, but she doesn't just give grades you have to earn it. that's how all classes should be. what are you doing in school if you expect teachers just to give good grades. she is a great teacher. if you need help she will help you. i studied the night before her test and made "A's". if i can do it anyone can
I agree with the comment is you have trouble with this class "drop out of college and go work at Mc Donalds." What more coould one ask of an instructor...I learned a lot and I only studied the night before every exam and made A's on every test...I am no genius...Ms. Dugas=Great Teacher
Whoever said go dropout and work and MCdonalds need some serious help this teacher does not help anyone if anyone does not believe me take her class she is boring and not even helpful. Maybe history comes to some naturally but she is no help AT ALl
She is very nice. Will give extra credit if you go to class EVERYDAY! She is very, very helpful- you just have to talk to her and she will go out of her way to help you. Go to class and take notes then you should be fine. If you can't handle this, then McDonald's is too good for you.
I think she is a very good teacher. If you study and take good notes you will pass her class.
History requires a lot of studying. Ms Dugas gives you the info-will help if you ask-and gives extra points for attendance. I made an A in her class but studied a lot.
get a life this is not a good teacher do not take her. She is Sooooooooooo boring you will fall asleep. She is not helpful at all and i do not know where everyone gets that she gives extra points thats a big time LIE!!!!!!

Awesome
I thought she was very easy
I hated history before I took her class. Her class is very easy. If you go to class and take good notes you will do very well (I did!!!). Even if you miss a few classes, the book will help you.
man man man, talk about easy. i HATE history. this woman is soooo easyyy.. with ten y's. let me give you my stategy. go to class, take notes and read the notes for an hour everyday you take her class. when test time comes bamm straight 100 A's. do any less and you probably will still make an A. that is how easy she is.
This class is really easy, but not to the point where if you don't study you will still pass. Studing is still a recommendation for this class. But she is easy and her outlines are a huge help! She goes at a good pace and doesn't try to overload you. My advice...Take this class!!
She is good but dificult. Tough but fair. Study the outlines and study the study guide!
This class was boring as hell, but all you need to do is follow the outlines and copy the transparencies. Study only what's on the study guide starting a couple of days before the test. It's an easy A, but it will require some effort on your part.
Was an easy class as long as you go to class, take notes, and read over them. Everyone should pass with an A......if you get an A it's your own fault!!!!! Really knows her stuff and is ALWAYS willing to answer any questions you have. Highly recommend taking her.
Very nice instructor...would take again.
Very sweet puts outlines on Blackboard and always has bonus points on her tests!!!
awesome teacher, would definitley recommend this teacher to everyone.
If you have insomnia play a tape of the lectures and that should do the trick. But its arguably the easiest class you'll ever take. Super easy A.
Very easy. Recommend to everyone. She gives bonus on every test and if you still having trouble go talk to her and she will assign an extra bonus assignment.
Not a great teacher, but not bad either. Tests aren't exactly a breeze, just study the chapter outlines and the study guides as well as the power points she always uses for notes. Come to class everyday, and you should be fine. If you total 4 or less unexcused absences through the semester, you will be allowed to answer bonus questions on the final
Very good teacher. She put outlines for each chapter on blackboard. Still have to take notes, but if you missed something you can ask her after class and she will help you. Study from the outline that she lectures on. You do fine on the tests. She gives 4 extra bonus points on the tests.
Very sweet woman, test are easy, straight-forward, if you go to class and read over notes you take in class and go by study guides there is no reason you can't make an A. I found it to be an interesting class mostly b/c you can tell she loves to teach it and it makes you want to learn it. If i could I would register all my class with her.
I made a C in her class; however, if you study you will make a good grade on her tests. I always studied the night before the tests and I always made no lower than a C. I would study for about 2 hours. I was never interested in history, but she was very interesting. She is understandable, interesting, and very knowledable.
Great teacher .All you have to do is study and go to class. If you do that you will pass.
Def. recomend taking her. shes very easy and tells you exactly what she wants. pick interesting topics, or really off the wall ones, she likes those. i made an A. and wasnt too prepared on some of my speeches.
She is a very nice person, i liked to class and tried very hard, always studied, but i made bad grades. everyone learns differently and i was just not cut off for the class, so if u learn photographically, take her
Mrs. Dugas is the easiest History teacher there is....I would recommend her for History.
easy and very interesting teacher, tests are like high school.
Ms. Dugas is an awesome teacher. She makes her lesson very interesting and informative. Before I attended this class I was not to interested in History, but now I am excited that I've attended History 101. Ms. Kathy Dugas lectures are straight forward. Review the study guide and do the jeopardy puzzles you will make a good grade in her class.
BORING - - - She has ZERO enthusiasm
I find she's very informative and knowledgeable about her subject. She also doesn't mind if you walk in late, which is a plus. Even if you miss the roll sheet, you can sign it after class. Just pay attention in class and take notes, and you'll do fine.
Very easy class. I never made a B on any test. Always A's. I had her for 101 and 102. Her class is also very interesting, I love history though. Only bad thing is you have to attend class or after a certain amount your grade will drop a letter grade!
fabulous instructor. she's very, very much interested in the material she teaches, and her lectures are more like stories instead of lectures. very sweet, friendly lady. print the outline, write down everything from the powerpoints except for picture captions, and play the jeopardy review game. you'll no doubt get at least an 80 on every test.
Wonderful teacher. Class is very easy .. just do all the jeopardy study slides. and take notes easy A if you good at history. test are all mulitple choice.
She is super easy. Tests are multiple choice. She takes role so you have to go to class which is kinda boring but I found I missed a lot if I didn't go. But she's really nice and goes slow. I really liked her!
This teacher is super easy and the only thing u have to do is copy the lecture off the projector and study it's an easy A
She gives outlines and jeopardy which is a helpful review. You have to go to class which is kinda boring but she gives all the notes in class and goes slow enough for you to copy off the slideshows. Would definitely take again for 102.
Easiest teacher there is! I studied the night before for every test and got A's. Definitely take this class!
I LOVE THIS TEACHER. very easy. i highly recommend using her jeopordy game as a study source. extremely helpful! go to class she gives ALL the notes. great teacher.. youll love her!
Boring class but if you study you will do well. Copy notes and pay attention. I missed a couple of classes and still passed it. If you don't study, you will fail.
Very nice, very helpful. She'll answer all your questions. She really cares for her students. If you print out the outlines and take notes and study the specifics listed in the study guide she puts on moodle you'll pass with an A. Promise. She's a great teacher and planning on taking her for HIST 102
She is a very clear in her lectures and very easy to undersatnd. she puts things in simply terms. Her test are all easy multiple choice as long as you study your notes. She is very helpful and so nice.
Easy teacher. Just have to study your notes. Very sweet. Makes the class very interesting.
Terrible. This teacher is so boring. She stands in the front of the class and reads off of a power point for an hour and a half. I would not advise taking her for 101 or 102.
Super easy teacher! Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is mandatory if you want to pass. As long as you take notes from the outline she provides, you will do fine! Her voice is monotonous, and this class can be very boring at times but it is a super easy elective!
I don't understand why everyone said she's easy. I read this and was hoping for an easy class. I never missed class, always took notes, and always studied. I kept failing the tests and it didn't make sense. I had to drop the class and so did majority of my class.
Great teacher! She's very smart and funny. I had her for honors western civilization, and her classes were always interesting. I just used her outlines and wrote basically everything she said, but didn't use the textbook at all. Her tests were very easy if you knew all the terms from the study guides. Highly recommend!
I loved Ms. Dugas! She sincerely cares for her students. If you miss an assignment she will check on you to make sure you are okay. Wants students to be able to do well in the class. I will be lucky if I am able to take another of her classes.
I found this class was very easy if you went to class and took notes. Test are all multiple choice and straight from the study guide. Teacher is always available to help you.
This course was easy yet informative, she knows her history very well. Tests are exactly like what was taught in class. I would take her again for sure.
Do not take this class, you will hate it. She talks and talks and never lets you out early. Pick another class, this class is literally the most boring class ever
Dugas is a very sweet lady. You do have to take notes and study, but her tests are easy. She does usually lecture the whole class. It can be a bit boring, but she is always there if you need her. Gives bonus point opportunities. Definitely would take her again!
Awesome professor! As long as you go to class and take the notes you should be fine! She is very detailed and clear on her notes so you never have to worry if you'll find extra material on the test! She gives ALL the study guides and outlines before the semester even starts. She speaks softly but animatedly. She is also very helpful and encouraging
Easiest class ever. She talks the entire class but there is not much note-taking. Her tests are easy and take about 10 minutes to complete. Highly recommend taking her for an easy A.
If you pay attention in class and take notes you'll only have to study the notes once or twice to do well on the test. She is very nice and understanding, and if you are willing to put forth effort this you will get a good grade in this class though you must attend unless you can get notes from a friend.
She was an okay teacher. I wish she would lecture in order of the timeframe. It gets a little confusing sometimes. As long as you take notes and study her test aren't that hard.
Dugas is a really great professor. Her tests can be challenging but if you pay attention and copy down the slideshows as well as anything else she says is important and focus on studying those, you'll do fine. Her tests can be a bit scary and I admittedly didn't do well on the first one but studying all my notes finished me with A's Very good class
Took her for HIST101 and will be taking her again for HIST102. DON'T BUY THE BOOK!!!! Tests are always multiple choice and very straightforward.
Took her for HIST 101 & 102. Do not buy the book. Tests are completely multiple choice and super easy. Just review the notes from class (she gives outlines to fill in) and you will be fine.
Extremely easy class. Just show up, listen to her lectures, fill in the outline and you will pass.
Only if you take it online the test are horrible. The book is confusing. The outline helps only 70% of the time.
I was nervous about History of Women(201) but it was really interesting. She provides a blank outline for you to use to take notes and also gives short writing assignments that really help your grade. I took this course and Hist 150 at the same time and received an A in both. Stay on top of assignments and put in a little effort and you'll do great
This is a lecture class. Make sure you either print or download her chapter outlines and TAKE NOTES as she lectures/flip slides. The tests have been consisting of 50 multiply choice questions. She will provide an online "study guide" to use, which is only key terms from each chapter. Make sure you come to every class to get the test info you need.
very interesting lectures and easy tests
Kathy Dugas is the sweetest professor! She genuinely cares about you and gives a lot of extra credit. It is a very easy class. However, she does not put the PowerPoints on moodle so go to class and take notes. Easy tests-multiple choice, matching, and true or false.
Lots of note taking, 5 multiple choice exams, No extra credit and A real straight forward class.
This class was a breeze. You have to attend class, but she makes it to where you really don't mind. Super easy outline for notes too, which makes it a million times easier. Everything on her tests are right from the notes
The only grades were tests but everything is from the lecture. I've never liked history until I had her class. shes wonderful and explains things so clearly. Super nice teacher, gotta show up to get the notes and she notices if you try and will help.
She's super nice and you can tell she enjoys her job. The class consists of lectures and tests. The PowerPoint slides are the most important info and try to jot down the things she says after. Really know the notes to get good grades on tests. The info you know sometimes has to be applied to the test questions.
Professor Dugas was a gem. Print out her study guides and copy off the powerpoint and from her you will pass. She is so interesting.
Print out the chapter notes(be ready to refill your ink every 2months), GO TO CLASS, and memorize the notes. She even gives study guides that point out which notes she will have on the test. Her lectures can get a little boring but youll do fine if you write down whats on the powerpoints.
She cares about you succeeding- gives you a study guide to fill out. Lectures are not boring and tests are not hard. Would definetly recommend.
Pretty simple. Just need to show up, write down everything on the slides, don't fall asleep, show up for the tests. She will give you outlines and study guides. You have everything you need to pass. No comprehensive final or memorizing dates!
Great history teacher took her for 101 and 102. She is phenomenal and really works with you, come to class take the notes fill in her outline an easy A.
Dugas is a very sweet woman who clearly cares about her students. She does put a lot of information on one tests. You only have 4 tests, no homework or quizzes. Dont buy the book, attendance is necessary.
I loved her. The only thing that makes this different from the regular classes is there are fewer tests but the same amount of info and the paper you'll have to write. She gives outlines and study guides. Study them and you'll do great. Pay attention in class and skim the text book focusing on the study guide's topics. You'll really learn.
If you have more than 4 unexcused absentees she WILL drop your grade. She is not an understanding person at all, even if someone in your life passes away. Aside from that, attend all the classes, take good notes, study, and you'll BE FINE. There is only 1 extra credit assignment at the beginning, there is no other.
Mrs. Dugas is an incredible history teacher. She has the ability to make history fun and interesting. She talks from start to finish but you only have to write the stuff that is on power point. She doesn't put it online so you have to show up to get info, but she already has mandatory attendance. Her class gives you ability to sit back and enjoy
Taking online, not final grade. I love this class. She posts links to short lectures or documentaries w reading assignments for weekly exams. The online tests are HARD. Read questions/answers thoroughly, only complaint is gotcha q and a w barely any time to read them. I know the material, but the pressure + my slow reading is affecting my grade.
NO lectures, completely self-taught class, very few supplemental materials, just read text & take weekly test on 2 dense chapters. Test questions are ridiculous. Trick questions, vague, complex & very limited time, cant return to questions. Im usually an A student & have gotten Cs on all exams but 1. No matter how hard I study.
Basically you teach yourself -read the chapters, fill out the (extremely long) outlines, and do quizzes. The quizzes are 30 questions 30 minutes. I made good grades on all the quizzes, but because I do not the book review, I ended up with a D in her class. Read, study hard, and most importantly DO THE BOOK REVIEW, and you will pass the class.
The entire class is composed of 6 tests and one book review essay. She gives an outline for each chapter which I would highly recommend filling out before you take them, the tests aren't too hard but you have to at least read through the chapters and take notes. The essay isn't too bad but it is just something you have to get done.
She gives outlines, you just have to go to class and write what she says - very easy to follow along with.
This class was amazing due to it being stress free. Only had quizzes every other week!! Highly suggest taking this class.
Honestly I don't know how people would fail Kathy Dugas for History of Women. This has been the easiest class I have ever taken at Nicholls. If you show up, pay attention and take notes you'll pass. The test are easy as hell, I made an A on all of them. There are a few papers, but nothing that you won't be able to knock out in an hour or two.
Awful and unfair grader. Goes on tangents during lectures so much that material gets pushed back another day or even to the next week. This class had the potential to be an easy A, but it seemed like she just did everything in her power to make the simplest things difficult. There were things on test that weren't covered in class or in the readings
I took this class online. We have 4 test and 2 papers. Each test was 30 questions with 30 mins to take it. We couldnt go back to questions. This is absolutely crazy! I like to read over each question very well. This very tight time limit gave no room to read over or check my work. Get ready for her smart, rude comments on your essays too.
Look, I think she's a great person and all... I just don't know if her style of teaching vibes with my way of learning. I didn't hate her but I definitely didn't love her. I didn't take notes but aced all the papers and the tests I did mediocre on. From what I can tell had I put more effort maybe this would be an easier course. Not terrible though
Do not recommend taking with course. There are 5 exams, 50 questions with 50 mins, and you were not allowed to go back on questions. Once you clicked next you couldnt go back and change an answer or skip ahead to come back to it later. 2 papers that were graded very hard and was very rude with her Comments and emails if you asked for help.
