My trip to Mammoth with her nad our class is one of my best memories from GCC. Her class was awesome and we always got out early. :)

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had! Her explanations are very clear and she has a delightful personality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

She is the best! She is a super fair grader and explains things very clearly. Most of the testing (like 99% of it) comes from her notes so make sure to take good notes. Very wonderful lady!

Mrs. Duret is the BEST! Very clear on what she wants on the tests. Almost all of the test questions are covered in class notes. Very nice lady with grade attitude. If you hate science this class is for you. Nice and easy & also you want to learn in this class. A+++

Excellent teacher! She's very leniant on everything. Eventhough the labs are supposed to be 3 1/2, we never go past 2 1/2. She's also very nice, never gets mad. Take her class!

Very kick back teacher, Easiest A you'll ever get, take good notes because the tests are right off the notes. She assigns HW from the textbook. It helps to know how to read a map.

Miss Duret is probably one of the besttttttttt geography teachers out there. She's cool and lets you out early when you take once a week classes. She has a great sense of humor. Also, her tests are superrrrrrr easy so study and you'll get an A in her class ;) I love you duret!

Mrs. Duret was awesome! This was my 3rd time taking Geography and I stayed because she was crystal clear on what the tests were gonna be ect. Take her! You won't regret it.

She's probably THE coolest teacher ever. She's very nice, and always happy. In spite of what others have written here, I actually learned a lot in her class. She's funny and very cute. Class is easy because she makes everything crystal clear. Even the "pop" quizzes are announced!

You will learn a lot, make sure to take the regular geog course with the lab, it makes the learning experience easier.

Professor Duret is awesome! I had her last semester for Geography 101. If you take good notes you should be fine for the tests. The homework is super easy from the book, and she gives out super easy copy/paste extra credit. I learned a lot, and am now taking the Geography Lab with her.

well this class wasn't a joke like others say but she's pretty easy if I tried I'd have gotten an A but I didn't study much that's why I ended up getting a B.

Class is easy if you put in effort to study a little. All questions on the test are straight off the notes. Dont need to buy the book use the library's copy & every point in that class counts!! She gives a few extra credits too.

This class was actually not as easy as I thought it would be. You must study and take out time to work out 2 big projects

Duret is the best. Very passionate about what she teaches and very comfortable with students and cares alot about everyone in the class. She gives a couple big projects, but if you go on the trip to Mammoth, lots of extra credit. Easiest teacher! The work for this class consists of 2 projects and 3 tests. The projects are easy but are time consuming especially the field project. Three days of work for a one unit class. Her tests are easy and she grades you easily.

Everything you take notes on will be on the test. She doesn't try to trick you or give useless information so pay attention. If you study your notes you'll be fine. There are two papers she assigns that are long, but doable. I wouldn't say easy as pie but maybe sweet as pie haha. I don't know about geog101, but get her for 111! You won't regret it.

Professor Duret is an amazing professor. She gives heavy lectures & taking notes should be number 1 priority in her class. She gives a total of 3 map quizzes, 2 midterms, 1 final, & 5 short quizzes. She has a clear grading criteria. If you study all her notes from the lecture then youll be fine.

A very down-to-earth professor who does what she loves and loves what she does. Her sense of humor is on point and I don't think there's anybody who truly leaves the class unhappy with her even when she gives out honest scores.

Best Teacher ever

For 111(lab), the Easiest classes at GCC if you can watch navigation and any map, for sure. And for 101(lec), take notes down and take class, you'll be 100% fine. FYI -- she does pursue the simplest way, so don't make your work too complicated.

Prof D is the best no cap! She's such a fun person to talk to. She gives 2-6 assignments per week which take no more than an hr to max 2 hrs to finish if you want to procrastinate, 2 midterms and a final which are very easy if you simply read through the lecture notes and review past assignments. Great professor. Take her you won't regret it!

Professor Duret is amazing. She makes the class lectures enjoyable to go to and the material is not hard at all to understand. I took her 101 and 111 lab class and I can honestly say I had fun learning about the different topics than just homework assigned such as worksheets or projects for 101 and 111 which may take more work/time and effort.

(fall 2021) I looked forward to her classes. I really enjoyed our conversations as a class, she had fun outdoors videos (short) of her explaining what we were learning in class, some assignments she wanted us to go outside and experience/relate to what we learned in class. Sure you gotta read notes & from the textbook but she makes it fun to learn!

Great professor! Took this class as a requirement, at first I thought it was going to be boring, but it was quite the opposite ! She provides her students with valuable notes/videos that will not only help you for the quizzes and exams but also in life. Inspires you to want to go out into nature and explore.

greatest geology professor at gcc hands down. had her in person. funny, caring, gives extra credit and her tests are very easy. her lectures are fun to listen to and she makes learning very fun. if you're thinking about taking her, DO IT!!!!
