Dr. Fox is probably the best chm1311 prof there is in the University of Ottawa. However, I don't like how she LOVES to include a lot of ' conversion factors ' in almost 80% of her questions. She DOES NOT use ANY chemistry formulas in class, which is hard if your usually used to using all those equations back in highschool. But overall, easy course.

She is clearly enthusiastic about what she teaches and if you're really interested in chem then you'll like her class but she is very quick and doesn't go over things very clearly. Dr. Fox is very passionate about chemistry, and it shows in her teaching. She is very clear and easy to listen to. There is a textbook, but it is optional. Keep in mind I took this during covid... Only downside -- she has a lot of students, so it sometimes takes a while to get a response from her by email. Great prof!!

Ok she's really not as bad as everyone before is making her seem. Yes, her lectures 2+ hours, yes the problems in class don't match the mid terms (just go to DGDs & pay attention to assignments), but she really takes her time (she calculated everyone's mark SEVEN ways so we get the best). If that's not caring, idk what is. Don't be underestimate!

I probably destroyed my eternal soul doing this class, but I would do it again. There's a lot (30 min pre-lec, CHEM 101, textbook), and if this is your only chem class, you may want to take another prof. Otherwise, it'll break you down and build you up. If you don't have time for the textbook, do the other TAs DGD questions.

I am shocked with the last few ratings. She did NOT change any of the marks and she did NOT recalculate the marks diffèrent ways to ensure students got the highest marks. In fact, she promised to add a few marks to the lowest test which she did NOT do. Other profs dropped the lowest test mark. Tests were brutal. Take in French: they had no labs.

Dr Fox is very dynamic and cheerful to the point where I would look forward to her 8am lectures. She summarizes heavy concepts in a way that makes them easier to digest and even makes summary sheets and hosts her own DGD's. Her exams are similar to previous papers. The final was not difficult but midterm 2 was tough, but doable if you study hard.

Dr. Fox is a great prof. Her exams are very fair but you must put in the work to do well. Her grading scheme is awesome and allows you to boost your grade in many ways through assignments and participation. I don't know my grade yet but regardless I loved fox. Definitely the best orgo prof this school year.

She's a nice person and everything but her exams for gen chem are so tough compared to other classes. First years, she's not worth it.

Dr. Fox is an amazing lecturer and she's very committed and passionate about teaching chemistry. I recommend her to anyone that is willing to put in work. Her exams are more difficult than other orgo profs. She's very accessible outside of class and always friendly, willing to answer questions! + provides so many opportunities for mark boosters!

Dr. Fox is an excellent professor who truly cares about her students. Though the exams are tough (it's orgo chem!), she provides great support—recorded lectures, past exams, review materials, and bonus questions. It's a challenging course, but she gives you all the tools to succeed.

Dr. Fox is such a great prof, she's super engaging and always available to answer any questions. Very organized, and she provides lots of practice questions. You do need to put in the work though, as exams are pretty difficult (but reasonable). Lots of opportunities to earn bonus marks - overall, would love to take a course with her again!

Out of everyone teaching Orgo, she is by far the best option. She records her lectures so attendance is not mandatory however you do get a bonus 5% if you do show up. However there is a way to complete it from home... Her grading is extremely generous. Orgo in general is tough so do not go into this expecting an easy A. Study past exams trust me

I heard such amazing things about Dr. Fox so I was initially excited to have her class but honestly, it was quite miserable. Her midterms and final exams are extremely long and difficult with many questions we've never ever seen before where she tests for "application".

She's great at teaching and stays after class as long as possible to answer questions, HOWEVER her exams are long and difficult, especially the first midterm. It's actually easy to get 100 in her exams if you do A LOT of practice because she actually reuses practice questions. She also boosted our class by 2% so her class is good if you work HARDDD

She is pretty nice, and her lectures are engaging. She always posted her lessons on Yuja which were extremely helpful to go back and rewatch. Her midterms and exam are pretty difficult. Definitely manage your time properly. Always look back at the old midterms and exams to practice, some of the questions were reused. Emphasis on difficult midterms

Dr. Fox is a great professor who cares about the success of her students. Her lectures are very engaging and takes her time explaining. The first midterm was rough, but if you study hard you'll be fine. She reuses lots of homework questions and past test questions. Final is long but not hard. Put in the time to study and her class will be fine.

Recently getting bad into science with a bit of spare time. Didn't have a great experience at university but can definitely say Dr. Fox was one of my favourite professors by far. Very smart and great at explaining concepts even during COVID when it was online. Also made class fun to learn and something I wish I got to focus on properly.
