very good intro class to family sciences. lectures for the most part are clear and easy to understand. Study guides for exams are very relvant-she is very fair on her exams on letting you know what will be tested.

She's alright, but the lectures are boring, and she repeats everything over and over and over and over again; this is likly because everyone in the class is stupid, I mean it's HDFS 201, easiest major on campus and it's the intro. class!

She has a lot of interesting (and relevant!) stories to tell. Varies her cadence, engages the audience--hands down the best public speaking I've seen in a teacher. Easiest classes on the planet, and they were FUN.

Class is very interesting and easy, but she tends to blab on and on, doesn't stop sometimes. She has very funny stories and examples and the music for the class is way worse than 201 with her.

As long as you take notes in class...you don't even have to do the reading til she puts out the outline for the exam. Everything on the outline is on the test. I got a 100 on the final. She talks too much though.

Not a bad teacher. For the most part, she is okay and explains the material pretty good. But the class itself is tedious and somewhat common sense. The reading is just downright stupid. The book sucks and it's pro-choice/pro-feminist BS crap like that. But anyways, it's is an okay class.

This class is impossible to get a good grade. You THINK YOU'RE GOING to do good on the test, but somehow she grades it weirdly. Everything you study for is exact, but when she grades it, you'll do like 300% worse than you expected. Do not take this class because it's actually quite hard!

Very easy & clear class. Impossible to fail if you show up and read what's listed on the study guides - the tests are very easy in that case, too, then. Unfortunately, there were times when I felt like she could have elaborated more or even whe I felt like I could have brought more to the topic than she did... still a fun class / professor, though.

Easy class with no minuses in the grading, only pluses. She knows her stuff and seems nice but doesnt really like students questioning any of her statements. Keypad activities are used every class for attendence points.

Oh my gosh, this teacher thinks everyone in her class is stupid, she puts intructions up on the day of exams and then proceeds to go over it with the enitre class, it takes like 20 minutes before tests are even passed out. She is a total blabber and definately an adovcate for Gays and Lesbians.

The greatest class of my college career. The subject matter was interesting and Dr. Greaves presented it in a wonderful way. Go to all the classes as attendence is taken (by taking sometimes funny surveys) and a good majority of her test questions comes from her lectures. She is very open minded and is open to discuss anything. Take this class!

This class was amazing and as long as you got the lecture notes you will do fine. You do have to go to class to get the keypad points but after 10 of those. This was the best class I've taken and you really learn because it is presented in such a good way. She is a great professor and really passionate about the subject!

Very easy tests if you read the key points that she highlights from the book. extra credit is easy. keypad points are an easy buffer for your grade if you make it to class. Overall, kathy is a good lecturer and tries to skip the stuff youve heard in high school, and teaches interesting material.

Kath has been my favorite teacher at OSU! She is super fun, and real, but doesn't take any b.s. so you still respect her. She isn't at all biased, or pushy with her opinions on things, but she speaks the truth, so if your ultra-conservative or aka really sheltered and uptight, you probably won't like her class.EXCELLENT professor! :)

I've taken 201, 240 and 341 with Dr. Greaves. She is very reasonable if issues come up. Lectures are interesting and straight forward. Lots of interesting activities for class participation. Tells personal stories that enhance concepts. Can be crude at times but is overall a good teacher. I recommend her.

Easiest class I have ever taken. I took it with alot of engineering courses, it was a nice break. There is only two assignments for the whole term that you can do in 10 minutes. The reviews she gives you literally tell you what will be on the test. You will need to read the book when it's time for a test.

I took this class because I heard it was easy, which it was, but I don't recommend slacking! It is very easy to get an A, and Kathy is a good professor. I didn't do as well as I should have because I didn't take advantage of the study guides she provides and the extra credit opportunity. If you do both of those things, your golden!

I have two classes with Kathy this term; HDFS 240 and HDFS 201. She's an awesome professor. Her requirements and deadlines are crystal clear, she has a lot of knowledge about what she's teaching and she's passionate about what she does, which makes class more interesting. Come to class, use the quizdom, take notes, study, and you'll do fine. Easy!

Love her! You could tell she knows what she's teaching, and is very easy to understand and follow along with. The only thing is that she would sometimes spend a majority of the class answering questions and off on other tangents, leaving the lecture material behind completely, or rushing through it to catch up. Other than that great teacher!

I took 201 and 240 from prof. Greaves. She is one of my favorite instructors at OSU and makes the class very fun and interesting! She is passionate about the subjects and it shows. Attendance is mandatory because she does use quizdoms every day and some of the statistics are on the midterms and final. Easy A :)

I also took HDFS 240. Both structured the same. 2 homework assignments, 3 tests, and one extra credit opportunity per term. Very easy A if you do the reading and go to class.

Extremely easy class. Her material is questionable, however. She provides little to no opposing arguments to supplement the topics. She also believes that there is no such thing as abusing the system, so in her eyes everyone on welfare deserves it. She also told the class that "Nucular" is a word...

Easy A if you come to class and read the material. She's really fun to listen to and makes the class enjoyable. You'll learn a lot too.

Family Studies is Kathy's forte. She let us out early many days and cancelled class on sunny days when we were caught up on material. Her lectures are interesting and you barely have to crack open the book if you attend class. She gives great study guides so I didn't have to read until the day before the exam- she tells you exactly what to know.

You must take a class from Kathy! She is awesome and tells it like it is. Her classes are full of useful info and are pretty much essential for understanding how college works.

Professor Greaves is the best teacher I have had thus far. She makes the classroom feel much smaller than 600 hundred students. It's the first class I have had that really feels like college. As long as you do the reading and go to class you should do great! The class is really straight forward and simple! I recommend it 100%!

Make sure you come to lecture every day and actually study from the textbook. Both the lecture and the book are important for you to pass the tests. Shes really nice in person and funny. She's really picky on how you do your assignments. She will dock points if they aren't formatted they way she likes.

Kathy Greaves is a fantastic professor. She makes you smile at least once every lecture. She is naturally funny. I am dissapointed that my grade didn't turn out as good as it should be.

A great professor whose class Human Sexuality is extremely easy as well as interesting. She is very helpful and clear, and she keeps the course very entertaining.

The parenting class was interesting overall. She mostly used her powerpoint slides (instead of a textbook), but there was one book we used. The book was not too expensive and it was mostly used for in class assignments.

Really good teacher. Study the clicker questions tho. She's better in 240 but still good in 201. Really good person too. It's an easy A and you learn a lot. 10/10 would recommend.

Kathy led very interesting lectures when she used media examples and incorporated discussions otherwise though class was mostly what you heard in the online lectures or read in the book. Only reason to be there was really the clicker questions and class activities. Final was easy though and there's alot of work but it's doable.

The midterm/finals are based lecture and reading. Attendance is required to obtain the notes for the tests, and occasionally her clicker questions will be on the tests as well. The only reading necessary is what she tells you on the study guide, otherwise theres ton of useless reading. Easy A if you try, pretty sure she reuses test every year.

Took hybrid class. Good teacher, very clear on expectations and is very consistent. She is a very rude, kind of mean lady when talking in lectures. Don't like her as a person, but she is a good teacher and her class is pretty easy if you do all of your work. Would definitely recommend as long as your fine with being yelled at to shut up in lecture.

I took her hybrid class and LOVED IT. She is the most real, funny, inspirational professor I have ever had. She doesn't put up with any disrespect in her class, and is very honest, which I loved! The class material is great as well. There is no midterm, just a final. Weekly assignments as well though. Textbook is necessary for weekly quizzes.

She gave up long ago. Tests have poor grammar, lecture slides have not (at all!) changed since 2007. 2007.... Insulting to take a class directed at people who must be insanely stupid, at a respectable university. She might be intelligent and wonderful with people, but it is amazing she was hired to "teach" students at all.

I've had Greaves for three classes now and she is definitely a solid professor. I make my schedule work so I can take her classes over another prof.

She's hilarious, and says the most bizarre things, but surprisingly enough, it helps you remember. So go to class, pay attention, and you'll do great!!!

I took Human Sexuality with her, and it was fairly simple. I think the recipe to an A in this class is that you would attend every lecture and type what she says (see the posted pre-lecture notes) and read the study guide that she posts before each midterms and final. Not alot of reading (just the read the study guide), and 4 easy documentaries

Super easy class. It is a hybrid so there is a lot of out-of-class work, but as long as you do everything you will most likely come out with over 100%.
