i took her in summer. so easy! i just an a with barely trying. she gave EC so i would have got above an A. just go to class take notes and for safety net do the EC. nice lady. stays nuetral and very cool

She is a very nice lady, and quite smart too. The only problem I had was the amount of times she said "UM" in lectures. Other than that really friendly and helpful.

This has been by far the best class I've taken in the past year I've been attending Pierce! She is an outstanding professor. Her lecture is clear and fun to listen to. She makes it very easy to get an A if you come to class and just hear her lecture. I don't know what it is about her but she has teaching down to an art form! Love her!

Didn't touch the book and I got an A. Her tests are really easy and to the point. I did learn quite a bit about political science despite my disinterest in it, so I'd say she's an excellent teacher. She's pretty politically opinionated, but does respect students with opposing political beliefs. Fair, to the point, simple. Take her.

One of my fav teachers! You will defintely learn something in this class and will enjoy it even if you dont like the subject. Study the study guides and you will get an A! Gives extra credit. Not a stressful class! Definitely recommended!

boring lectures, especially if you already took polisci 1. too many textbooks so I didn't even try to read them. take polisci 2 with meyer. he is much more entertaining.

for an 8 am class to be interesting is a positive. She was up and bubbly and generally fun and interesting, which kept my interest. If you follow her total instruction on the syllabus (quizes) you will do great! I totally recommend her.

Miss Holland is generally a nice teacher, and makes classes quite interesting; however, she is extremely politicaly biased. Holland exhibited the worst of traits in this regard: OMISSION OF FACTS. I just want it straight so I can make up my own mind, and so should you. Question her like crazy if you want a true picture of contemporary politics.

Super nice, cool and knowledgeable teacher. She reminds me of my aunt. This class, like many Poli Sci, contains a lot of information. If you take good notes and STUDY her hint list for the exam, then you will do well on the test. I got a B in her class without reading the two required textbooks.

She is a great teacher...she made the class so much fun...the first day of class we spent the whole hour on this huge debate that did not pertain to her planned lecture...she is a go-with the flow type of teacher that know's what she is talking about!

Very passionate about the subject. ALL lecture. Take good notes. Gives a study guide before tests. No quizzes or homework. 2 midterms & a final. Very important that you take good notes on the lecture. She uses a number of different books, so her lectures come from everywhere. Term paper is huge. Start early.

Thinking back to that class makes me cringe. Since there's not much to be said about the subject matter anyway most of the class was a polisci 1 review. The rest, including the term paper, is about nothing anyone can relate to. Full of "female/male officials tend to be" crap. Way to put back the women's movement by reinforcing gender stereotypes.

I'm a C average who got an A in class. I took good notes and did the practice quizzes online. An excellent teacher. BUY THE BOOKS.

GREAT TEACHER TOOK DURING THE WINTER. NEVER READ THE BOOK BUT TOOK GOOD NOTES. IF YOU TAKE GOOD NOTES AND ATTEND CLASS EVERY DAY YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A GOOD GRADE. I now hate Susan B. Anthony. But if you love her, need an honors class and a refresher course in PoliSci1, This class is for you. That's about all the class is, 65% PS1, 25% videos on Anthony and the suffrage movement, and 10% of reinforcing stereotypes of male and female political officials and their distinct personality traits. Yeah real nice.

Holland is a energetic, fun teacher who is nice and always welcomes interactions and loves to get sidetracked. There are 3 books, but tests mostly cover her lecture notes. You write a 8 page research paper and the final is cumulative. She's a nice lady who's always in a good mood.

Don't buy the books. Lectures are crystal clear. You can look up on the internet for clarification. Attend every class and take clear notes, It is an easy A if you study a little bit. The movies are great and she is a wonderful teacher. Highly recommend!!

Easy "A". Tests are easy, plenty of extra credit and fun lectures. If you don't like Political Science but have to take it, this teacher is the best option.

Prof. Holland is an excellent political science teacher. Her tests are challenging but by no means impossible, and she gives study guides. Dynamic teacher. Strongly recommended.

Kathy is the best, i took her class with a couple of my friends in summer A, and she puts up with a lot. She let us go early too a lot because we usually finished things quick. Tests are hard but fun, and she gives extra credit to watch movies.

best teacher i took the honors section there was a 6-10 page term paper on a country of your chose plus a presentation, a midterm and a final. 300 points all together. there is a lot of extra credit, overall easy A esp for an honors class. she does lecture a lot which helps the book also helps for the midterm and final. take her shes easy and nice.

She's an amazing professor. She's also a funny instructor and she makes the class fun with all her random jokes. The book is only useful when you don't attend class or if you didn't understand anything during the lecture, but in case you don't understand anything she's always there to help you. Her office hours are open to all her students.

Very easy teacher, you have a lot of chances for extra Credit, one essay midterm (let's you use outlines, a tem paper, and a final essay. Honestly get involved have discussions in class, i loved that class and i honestly thought of dropping it at the beginning, Easy A!!

i like this teacher because her grading is really fair. she gives a lot of extra credit. you can use her notes or read the book, it doesn't matter as long as you have the information in the exam, your good. her exams are essays, she will give you the topics ahead of time, so you can prepare for the exam. very easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this teacher! She explains everything to every students understanding. She is funny and kind. She does go on some tangents but they are usually short and relative to the topic at hand. She grades fairly and offers a generous amount of extra credit.

Great class ! She's hilarious and makes funny jokes ! Gives hint lists for each tests ! only 3 tests and the final. Offers a lot of extra credit to make up for tests (Easy A). Doesn't take attendance but you won't pass if you don't show up. Tests are fairly easy (mostly definitions)

By far the hardest class I've taken. If you care about your GPA, do not take this professor. I worked so hard and still received a B. I had twenty pages worth of notes based on her hint list she gives out for tests; I read the textbook over and over again and yet still received B's and C's on her test. I do not recommend this professor.

I took her 5 week summer class. Your grade is based on a Midterm, Final, and Extra Credit. Do the extra credit, it will really help you. Take lots of notes too, everything she lectures is important. Its was not the hardest but yet not the easiest

Prof Holland is a sweetie. She is easy to listen to and makes her lectures clear and writes out main points on the board. She gives you study points for in class papers (mid and final) and is very clear on what she wants. Lots of extra credit via fun paper choices. Show up, do the reading, and you will be fine. Very respectful of students.

I took the Honors class. Tests are multiple choice-everything on test is on study guide she gives you so it's not hard. Her lectures are very interesting and funny, and I found myself enjoying every minute of class. A TON of extra credit. Don't need to read book really. The Honors class has an 8 page essay but she grades so, so easy. Great teacher!

10/10 recommend. Shes so amazing in her lectures. She seems intimidating at first but she's a real sweet heart. She loves it when the students engage in conversation. As for grading, FOLLOW HER CRITERIA! I was always worried if I'm maybe writing too much but she likes it. She gives good feedback and wants her students to pass with A's.

Interesting and funny lectures. Two essay exams are given, and she releases the questions to them online weeks before, allowing you to make an outline to use on the test. She grades more on content than length, so keep in mind you do need to put work in. 1 8-12 page paper and movie reviews for extra credit. Good experience overall

I took this class online in summer and it was a lot of reading. There is online participation as well but if you read and participate, youll be fine.

Honestly the easiest class ever! She says a textbook is required but in reality most of the answers on the test will come from the files she'll post online. Easy homework assignments if you READ! Exams can be taken 2 times, if you don't do so well the 1st try, review the answers you got wrong and go over! Seriously learned so much about my country!

Easy class! Do all the discussions and assignments and youll be fine. Theyre not difficult at all. The modules which she uploads have most of the answers. You have two tries for every exam (even final!!). One essay about a documentary. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

Class is easy just do the essays, discussions and extra credit opportunities an you will pass. Final and midterm are 75 questions each but fairly easy, she gives you tow tries for each test. The test are proctored so your on camera while taking the midterm and final. If you move, sounds around you and many other distractions will submit your test.

Took Professor Holland during the summer as an online course. Would recommend for getting easy GE credit. You are only graded by the assignments given to you, the midterm, and the final. Was an easy class and she gives two tries on the exams. Also gave extra credit.

Professor Holland is cool. Her Poli Sci 1 class was very easy, and it is pretty much only based upon the three midterm exams and a final. She gives a study guide for all of them, and whatever is on the study guide is likely on the exam. The only issue w/ the class is that she is extremely opinionated and it can take the lecture off topic at times.

Her class is not difficult. She offers extra credit and assignments are pretty simple. Her class is by far one of the easiest online classes. She could organize her assignments a little better, but other than that I had no problems. Shes very informative and provides study guides. 2 midterms and 1 final.(2 tries each-proctored) solidGE choice.

Class is basically lecture and powerpoints. It's not mandatory to go to class since all the answers are in the book. Her assignments are discussions online and you just have to skim through the book. Her tests are super easy, in-class essays. She gives the prompts beforehand and you create an outline that you can use in the test.

I took the 8-week accelerated course and even though it was challenging, the criteria for what is expected in every assignment is clear. Make sure to cover everything in the rubric because if one thing is missed, the entire section is not considered in the final grade for the assignment.
