she can be nice, but is a tough and she acts like a hard ass. she is also strict
She is a great teacher and makes herself accessible. Her tests are hard.

She is a great teacher. Her style is UC level. If you want to learn Math, please take her.
She is very strict and acts like she is teaching high school. Overall she knows what she is talking about.
Kathy is a very nice person with a brilliant mind. She teahces clearly but we dont have enough time to practice the material. She is fun during lectures but with exams...Watch out. She gets seriously strict and takes points off the tests for minor mistake
Math sucks but she kept me in class. Class was hard but she made it managable. Beware of tests. Showing up to all classes is VITAL!
i've never been good at math. though i did work hard on my own, she was very clear with her expectations and there were no surprises when it came to tests. she's very intelligent and respectful, and not at all annoying: a rarity among teachers in general.
very hard and not helpful. Has a bad attitude like she knows it all.
I love you Kathy
The very best Math teacher I've ever had. She takes the time to go through every section step by step, and tries ti be as helpful as possible. She's slways there to help her students.
A good teacher, but her tests are EXTREMELY difficult. There will be problems on the test that you have never seen before. Take her course if you enjoy spirit crushing test scores.
My favorite teacher. Clear and concise in example and direction. Willing to give extra help. Doing the homework and studying is a must to succeed.
I took her class a few years ago, and before then i had failed the same class a few times...but she was so amazingly helpful, i would have never been able to pass if it werent for her...thank god for kathy, otherwise i would have never transferred
Great teacher..hard but she is one of the best at coc
The best teacher I have ever had. She made math seem so easy. She is very helpful, understanding, and patient.
she's hard, but she's cute. that's the only thing that kept me coming to her class.
heh, she was good at explaining the materials needed in the class, but her tests were hard, which is part of the reason why I failed her class.. =/
Very nice teacher, Her test are very hard. If you take her class make sure you do the journals. She is always availible for help and she believe it or not is pretty understanding. be sure to do the HW as well even though she doesn't grade it.
Ms. Kubo is sooo sweet! She is the best math teacher I have ever had! I passed her class with a B and I usually stink at math! Her grading is pretty hard but she explains everything very clearly and offers plenty of help! I highly recommend her!
she's very good at teaching. explains materials clear. it all make sense. as long as you do homework and review handouts, tests wouldn't be that hard.
tough class, all she graded us on were tests, and like 4 journals. very hard if, like me, u hate taking tests. she explains the materials fairly well, but you really have to apply yourself. study study study. a quiz almost everyday, and a chap. test once a week!!
Great professor. She explains the materiel very well and makes sure that we ask questions. Make sure to ask questions!! All there is, is homework and journals. It's pretty much a self paste class. Must study a lot!
I love you Kathy
Kathy is strict, has rules, takes no crap. Do your homework and study for tests and you will succeed. She is always available for help. She explains things the way that she sees you understand. Best professor. I learned sooo much. She's absolutely adorable.
i had her about 3 years ago and she's horrible. i passed the class so no hard feelings there but she is very unclear and expects a lot.
she teaches pretty good, doesnt collect homework which doesnt motivate you to do it, so you eventually dont get any practice. Shes difficult, strict, and a ****, she could be nice but you might want to be a quiet good/perfect student.
kathy is awesome! she makes you understand the material and will help you whenever you need it. just make sure you do your homework and have your cell phones turned off during class!
she is very nice and if your good at math you'll pass the class she expects alot from students and tests are very dificult take her if your going to have lots of time to spend studying
Kathy Kubo is a hardcore ****!! I'm fair at math, but Kathy made it much worse. Unlike any other math teacher, Kathy makes you do journals, in which you have to take more time out of your already busy schedule and write PARAGRAPHS explaining HOW you solved certain problems. Worst off, she's a truly UNFORGIVING GRADER, and a tight-ass. Boo!

THE MOST DIFFICULT CALCULUS CLASS EVER!(and she admitted that she's very infamous, too) 2/3 students got a D of F. She is very helpful, nice teacher though. take it if you dare.
She is a very poor teacher, hardly ever makes eye-contact. If she thinks your question is stupid, she will let you know. I guess COC is just hiring people based on their resume. No one really cares if the candidate has teaching skills. On top of it all she is extremely snobbish. Don't take her attempt of a class unless desperate.

Horrible math teacher!!!! I did not understand anything in her class! She made mefeel dumb for asking questions and the learning inviornment was not comfortable! I would definately not take math with her!
Kathy Kubo is terrible, she doesnt explain things very well, she moves to fast, tests are way to hard and shes no help if you need extra help. DO NOT TAKE DO NOT!
SOOOOOO HARD!! Her tests are the hardest possible questions she can find. good teacher willing to help you out, doesnt collect homework, so her tests are deathly to say the least.
Kathy has high standards and although she will do everything possible to help students learn the material, she will not pass students who do not demonstrate competence in college algebra. She is very good at explaining the material, answering questions and is always respectful to her students. Excellent teacher!
Professor Kubo's exams are extremely difficult. Be prepared to spend a lot of time studying. Homework is not collected during the semester. I would only recommend Professor Kubo if you are a math major.
I attended an online summer class so my interaction with Ms. Kubo was minimal. However, from the little interaction I had with her she was pleasant and helpful. Before the Saturday exams she would allow questions. She responded in a timely manner to the few emails I had to send her. I would definitely take another of her classes.
Not very helpful. Wonder if she likes to teach
Keeps her class under control. Expects you to know definitions of important theorems on quizzes and exams. Does not check homework. Makes herself available for 1 on 1 help after class. Clear and thorough lessons. Gives students a chance to go to the board and explain hw ?'s for participation points. Stern at first but lightens up 2 weeks in
A lot of homework, and I mean a lot, there is homework from your book, online homework, online tests, journals, etc. Very hard tests. She expects people to know everything, gets irritated when students ask questions. If you not in math major do not take her, and if you are... well noone needs discipline so bad
I had her a while back. All the comments are funny cuz they're so true! This class was extremely difficult! She taught and yes spoke to us like we should all know as much as her. It's remedial math, I'm obviously here cuz something didn't click & I need extra help. She made me feel like an idiot. I was failing miserably and had to drop.
She doesn't care weather or not you going to pass the class. She gives a lot of work, guess because she's hoping you will learn math by yourself. Not a good professor.
Just started taking her for the first time. She's really nice and explains everything very clearly and slow. Always answers questions. All she wants is for you to learn something in her class. I mean ,she doesn't even collect homework! she's awesome.Who know she might change through out the semester but so far she's an awesome teacher that can teac
Excessive homework Im sure its for a good purpose, right now thats being shadowed by the irritation of not being able to keep up with it. The amt. of work that she gives feels as if this were the only class students are taking. She knows the material but she needs to take into consideration not all studens do. She needs to rethink her assignments.
You need to ask for her to help you which means for me I had to do all the homework to see what I don't understand. But she doesn't have you turn homework in she simply has you take quizes.
She just doesn't teach to her students, she cares if you are really getting the material.
i took her hybrid math class. im dropping it right after i finish typing this. She gives WAY to much homework, and expects alot out of her students. She makes u write journals and a sentance after every math problem in your homework. Iknow a bad idea when i see one, and taking this class with Kubo is a TERRIBLE idea. If your a math major go 4 it
Horrible, horrible teacher. Gives way to much homework along with journals in which she expects perfect english. Tries to teach to much in one day, minimum 3 sections in 2 hours. Impossible to fully keep up. Only take this class if you're a math major or have a LOT of time on your hands
I've read a lot of comments that say that she's unforgiving and her class is hard, but I don't think so. I got an A on her last test and I missed a few problems (for dumb mistakes), but I showed all my work and she gave very generous partial credit. There is a lot of homework but you don't have to do it, and if you do, you will do good on the test.
I took Kathy's hybrid class. There's a lot of homework, but I think that's necessary in a hybrid format. She was available for web conference type tutoring and review sessions, which helped a lot. She is generous with partial credit on tests, but she doesn't give away grades. You won't get an A in her class unless you know the material.
She is a very nice and generous teacher. She is always available if you need help. She will never give away just one minute or a point, but it's worth for you to work hard because you will receive a lot of credits. Her tests were just right for me. I would love to take her class again.
She's cool, but not the greatest teacher, then again I am not the biggest fan of math. The tests are kinda hard, she didn't collect the HW but gave quizes which were questions from the HW. Do the work and you'll pass.
I wouldn't recommend a hybrid class. It was very difficult and a lot of homework. The tests had problems that I had never seen. She's a good teacher, just study as if it were your second job. Prepare for laughably and painfully low test scores, unless your a math major and have seen a lot of different types of advanced math.
assigns so much work it is almost impossible to finish even when completing it on a daily basis and assigns work not related to math.
She taught the hardest way she could and did not allow us to try to solve problems in any other way than hers.
AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!! This class is ridiculous. There is way to much homework and most of it is online. The online homework sucks. I don't know how many times I got the right answer and it still told me I was wrong. There could be only 30 problems and it could take you 4 hours. If you are smart you will not take this class.
I'm almost done taking her hybrid class. Most of the work is online, and the online tools have really helped the absence of her teaching. She's very clear and willing to help, but she has extremely strict guidelines with hw and a LOT of assignments. If you work really hard then you'll succeed. I'm a mother of 3 little ones, but I'm managing
DO NOT TAKE MATH "APPLIED" 60 WITH KUBO, i am warning you
Horrible, horrible, horrible. She gives waaay to much hw, you have to have a journal like its english or something?? You have to write a sentence after each of the problems. You have to go up to the board and explain a problem 10 times. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WHATEVER YOU DO!!!She aslo has an attitude like she is so much better than everyone else!
She is really hard!! great at teaching the material but there is sooooo much homework its ridiculous and the tests are hard its extremely hard to pass her class the first time but i learned alot
WORST-DO NOT TAKE! Let's put it this way-Homework took 30 out of 40 hours per week!! and you still won't finish! She assigns Mandatory MATH JOURNALS! Who has time to write an essay in math??? Took Hybrid - be prepared for extra "conference" hours mandatory (not in class description)! Great Author & Book though - Take class with a DIFFERENT teacher!
DON NOT TAKE THE ONLINE MATH CLASS SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF HEADACHES,MONEY, AND SLEEP. IF YOU TAKE THIS CLASS YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A JOB OR KIDS, BASICALLY HAVE NO LIFE AND EVEN THEN YOU WILL NOT PASS. AGAIN DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS THE WAY IT IS TAUGHT IS HORRIBLE. DONT TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
her handouts make the class so much easier
Took her for my first math class and not having math for nearly 12 years, she helped me get through it and I passed her class. She is not easy but fair and will go out of her way to help her students. All you have to do is just ask and she will help you.
Omg worst teacher ever!! She haas a I'm above all of you attitude, if you are planning on passing math avoid this class!!!!!!
I took this class over summer, and I am terrible at Math. But I found her very easy to understand. Their was a lot of homework, but we never had to turn it in. I actually found the journals helpful to me understanding the content. TESTS ARE EXTREMELY HARD. But I suck at math and managed a C in a 5-week class, so she must do something right.
This is one of the sweetest, patient, laid back, and most compassionate instructors. IT'S MATH GUYS- SOME OF US MIGHT NEVER GET IT! But this is a Prof who will spend time to try to make sure you do. She goes WAY out of her way to help students. Awesome Prof.
If you like math don't take her worst math class I have ever had!!!!
This is a great teacher if you actually want to learn the material. She uses an extreme hands on approach She uses presentations and journals to make sure the student understands the concepts. This clarifies the concepts and I'm planning on taking her again. If you're not willing to learn don't take the class.
Kathy is extremely dedicated to her students and her job. She is an excellent teacher, and goes above and beyond to make sure you understand everything. The class is hard, but you walk away 100% prepared fr math 070. If you are willing to work hard and learn alot, this is the class for you.
She acts like she is a above everyone, you can't miss a class and think you can pass. Alot of homework that she will never ask you to turn in. I love math and this just about ruined it for me. Don't take her, save yourself the headache and money.
Scared the hell out of me the 1st day of class but very helpful and intelligent teacher; gave a test the 1st day of school. Very patient and goes out of her way to help her students. A LOT of hw, tests are HARD.. she REQUIRES you to know your stuff. Very strict grading.. take her if you love math.
Kathy is a strict teacher. Class starts on-time; every min is used. Never take "Applied" math unless you enjoy doing essay's and powerpoint presentations in Algebra. She goes beyond what is expected to offer assistance, with office hours and hour long review sessions held on her own time. Rightly, her expectations are high, and tests are not easy.
Kathy is an amazing prof. I took her for Math 060 and 070. She teaches applied so get ready for real world applications, essays (little ones), and lots of word problems. She is EXTREMELY helpful and will take her time until you understand the concept. Overall, amazing prof. take her if you love math. I don't like math, but she made it bearable :)
Amazing professor. She does whatever it takes to help you. She uses the whole class period, literally. Bring the textbook with you to class for homework review. Make sure to do all the hw and journals and study hard for her exams. They are challenging. She's a really nice person who's a good teacher and awesome person to talk to. (:
Don't get discouraged by these other comments. Kathy is a great professor who knows what she's talking about. She helps those who want to be helped. The subject is hard, but if you put the effort in she will give it right back. Her exams are hard but it makes the final that much easier. Planning to take more math: Kathy will get you more than ready
She will help with questions but does not help with confidence in math. She carries herself in a manner that suggests she is better than her students. This type of attitude is not appropriate for a college math class. I would prefer to have a teacher to have compassion and one who does stand on a high pedestal.
Worst teacher ever. Do not take this class. Hardest class ever. She makes it a lot harder than it needs to be. Unless you love spending hours every night teaching yourself the material DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!
So hardest class....her test was shock. If you are interested in Math, you can take it with her. But, if your not, avoid her soso hard
She is willing to help any student that puts in real effort but takes a disliking to those who are struggling. He class lectures seem easy but the tests and quizzes are nothing like what she teacher. She claims that they are the "same concept" when clearly not. Do not take her if Algebra is not your strong point.
she is not a good teacher if you like teaching yourself then take the class. shes not mean but shes not very helpful. She assigned a three page essay and also small essays in every exam. Its very different from any other math class i have taken.
Class was extremely difficult. The lectures were simple and she was very clear when she explained concepts, but the tests were nothing like it. She isn't friendly to those she doesn't feel are putting in effort. There is almost no homework, but doing it is helpful. It is applied, so there's a project, essay, and journals involved.
worst teacher ever. she doesnt know how to teach and gave us many essay and projects. Some of these projects required students making youtube videos on what we learned. she likes to rush things and never teaches well. also when it comes down to grading she is not fair at all. she wants to be known as a tough professor rather than the class learning
One of the most cheerful people every; very stylish too. That said... DO NOT take this class. She is the only math teacher at COC who asssigns essays. She adds your quiz scores to your tests and tests you on material she didn't teach. I died in this class. I'm certainly not the best student, but even the geniuses got C's. I repeat, DO NOT take her.
Former accountant teaching calc (uhh...). No extra credit, no dropped tests. Requires page-long "journals" and memorization of theorems word for word on tests. More than half the class dropped and many of the remaining students didn't pass. Most of the ones that did pass just got by with a C. Take her if you like punishing yourself.
Where to start. I am good at algebra buuuut this class killed me. I managed a B. The only time i got an A on a test was when i did each and every math problem on the HW. She requires essays and journals and group projects, She is helpful if you ask for the help. She is tough, no room to slack off.
She is intelligent, and very helpful if you ask. She explains the material well and in a manner that you understand. Her test are tricky but they usually come from the homework. Not impossible class, just tough.
You have to understand that Kubo teaches APPLIED classes, meaning she expects you to be very advanced and dedicated. For most people she's not clear at all and zooms through each section. Test scores include quiz scores and all her tests have short essay sections in which it's necessary to explain HOW and WHY you solved the problem.
She has to be the worst math teacher that I have ever had. She doesn't help you when you ask questions, isn't very good at teaching the lectures, and to top it off, she refused to give her students their grades when we asked for them. I regret taking the class with her.
she is a good teacher try and she will help dont slack off and she will have more compassion if you dont unde4stand something and doo all the journals
Kathy was a wonderful teacher! If you ever needed help she wouldnt hesitate to make things clear. You need to keep up with classwork though because it helps a lot for quizzes and exams but overall she was a great teacher and i would take her again if i could!
worst teach ever... run
This class is all about busy work, we receive upwards of 10-20 pages of fill in the blank worksheets, junior high style every day. This class moves at a snails pace material wise, and we work for hours on the simplest things. She also doesn't lecture at all and the free online book sucks, its designed for children. Don't take if you want to learn.
She doesn't teach at all and she relies on the online book to do all the work for her. The book was OK, but it skims the surface of everything and is more focused on tedious examples instead of material. The class is focused on time wasting group work and presentations, most students did at least 12 presentations. Extreme amount of homework!
Kathy is by far the WORST math teacher I have ever had. She is not helpful at all and has a ton of busy work and uses a stupid online textbook that doesn't help you learn at all and she barley lectures. She expects you to learn everything on your own! quizzes every class and test are hard! take ANYONE besides her!
she makes you get in groups and present every day. so if you are shy or dont like working in groups or just like doing your homework and getting by she is not the teacher for you.
This was the worst math class I have ever experienced.
Kathy Kubo is the worst. She makes students feel stupid and is not helpful at all. If you are not on her good side, you will not pass the class. You you ask questions, you will not pass the class. She is stuck up, thinks she knows everything and ALWAYS gives you an attitude if you ask her questions but THAT IS WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR RIGHT? RUN!!!
Horrible professor. RUDE, UNFAIR, UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT TAKE HER!
Great instructor that cares about her students passing. But she gives TOO much work. Don't take if you take other classes, have a job, family, life or any other responsibilities. She gives many written assignments that are time wasters. Lots of homework and two projects. I've learned a lot from her but wouldn't take her again based on the workload.
Gives to much work, I only recommend taking her class if planing to have only two classes. She a hard teacher to have and a very tough grader. Test are hard and writing paragraph is unnecessary. It's the worst math class I ever experienced.
Honestly just awful. She seemed great, but who just drops a student when you're so close to ending the semester with a passing grade? Gives way to much homework and assumes you most likely have no life with all the work you get. If you take the math class, expect on average about 1-3 hours of homework per day.
This class was difficult, however, Professor Kubo provided so many resources for me to succeed. I hate math, but I still passed with a C. I personally liked her innovative and creative class activities. The class is ALOT of work, yes, but all the work helps you understand the material. She is really helpful if you ask for it. Attitude is everything.
Accelerated/hybrid course. Kathy is a kind professor who truly cares about her students. She understands math is not for everyone and works hard to inspire and motivate. This class is by no means easy. It requires a strong work ethic. Give it your all and you will succeed. Not that it matters, but please note: Kathy is extremely attractive.
Simply ty and do the work and you will pass class 100%.
Kathy was one of my favorite professors. She is so caring and honestly wants to see you succeed as long as you put in the work. She explains everything in detail, she is always available when it comes to communication, and is very helpful if you don't understand the material right away. Don't listen to the bad reviews, I was scared for no reason.
I am SO SO happy that I found a Math processor like Kathy. I took her math075 PAL to math140 PAL course. Kathy is the most caring professor/ math professor I have ever had in my entire life. Kathy goes out of her way to make sure she can help you pass. She has a lot of online meetings for help. TAKE HER! She is the most caring!
Kathy is, quite simply, the reason I FINALLY conquered math. For 30 years, I'd feared math, flunked it, and gave up on finishing college because of this fear. I was a straight A student in everything else, but could not "Math." Kathy's class is hard, and you MUST put in the effort, but she will support you the whole way. Best teacher ever!
Kathy Is a hard cookie She is really good and in her class is guaranteed that you will learn. If you are taking her class, have the right amount of time to work on her assignments. She gives really good feedback. She was my favorite professor so far! Her class had a lot of challenges and required a lot of disposition.
I took Kathy for the MATH075-140 PAL class . She is the most kind, understanding and caring professor I have ever had. She genuinely wants each of her students to succeed and goes above and beyond to make sure that each student does. I cannot recommend taking her PAL class enough!
Get ready for a torturous 16 weeks with the PAL class, most challenging class I've endourded. Although the coursework was high I took it as a resort due to my demanding work schedule; I knew this by day 3 of going . Professor goes above beyond and demand, always available for help with questions over email. (Ps ideal if part time job NOT FULLTIME!)
What an amazing professor, I took her for the PAL class math 075 and math 140. She works with you and helps you to be calm with statistics. I would take her again. Do the work, the extra credit, be in class and you will pass. She is fair but also wants to make sure you understand the math.
I honestly loved this class!!!! Kathy is loving and patient with the whole class. I was literally scared of taking statistics out of my mind! I heard all these bad rumors about how hard this class is but she made it easy! You helped me overcome my fear of math! Everyone just remember, PERSEVERANCE IS KEY IN THIS CLASS!
Make sure that you are prepared, reading and do the online homework is helpful Make sure you take notes and then write down any questions that you have in regards to the homework, checkpoints and anything in lecture. Shes a gem a real sweetheart shes really helpful and loves to see you try! Ask questions shes always available to help. Pal 75- 140
Professor Kathy Kubo is an extremely patience, caring Instructor. She makes certain that all of her students understand the material and she is accessible on-line for questions. Her style is exacting but yet she makes learning Math accessible to anyone who puts in the effort to work in the class. I highly recommend taking this course from her!!!!
There is extra-credit but not much. I love Kathy, I re-took statistics 2 times. I hated math. However she is caring and the homework is just like the test. Make sure to have few or none other classes than this class. Kathy is the best math professor at COC. TAKE NOTES, STUDY and DO HOMEWORK, USE HER OFFICE/ONLINE HOURS. BE READY. Have time.
Kathy is by far the most caring, patient, and helpful professor I ever had. She is always available to answer questions and accommodate her students. I was terrified of stats before taking her class - now I actually enjoy it. It is tough, but she is always there to help! By far one of the best professors!
Professor Kubo was the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. I am someone who gets really nervous to take a math class, and this was also my second time taking stats at COC. Professor Kubo made sure I always knew what I was learning at all times. She's the type of person who understands life happens. I recommend her to everyone! Take her!!
SUCH a patient proff! Do ALL the reading & HW b4 class & take good notes. Online quizzes can be done 3x so do it till you get 100. Some Qs are on exams! Take notes verbatim on how she wants things written for essays. Those who didn't do well typically didn't do the work. It's ALL there for you and Kathy does TONS of help sessions. ATTEND THOSE.
She is beyond phenomenal. An absolute saint! She cares about the students and ensures you understand the material, if you still dont understand the material shell host office hours for better communication. She made math fun and exciting for me, and I use to have horrible experiences with math
Kathy is one of the best profs I've ever taken! She definitely has a gift of explaining hard concepts and having the whole class understand it. She's extremely patient and understanding of her students needs. There's a lot of reading and work to do so don't let it pile up. Getting a hold of her is the easiest as she responds very quickly. Take her!
Great professor that wants to see her students to pass. She makes herself available to help almost any hour of the day or night to answer questions.
I'm not great with math, and avoided taking it for two years out of fear of failing. Kathy has great explanations for things in the lectures, uses canvas in a conventional way, and was willing to meet in-person if I ever needed more help (before covid shut-downs).
There isn't nearly enough room to write about what a great professor (and person) Kathy is. She will bend over backwards to help you. This is not an easy class. You will go over a ton of information, but she will give you every opportunity and then some to be successful. Be ready to work, but also be ready to have a great professor helping you.
I have never encountered a professor who assigned so many assignments. there were subfolders with more assignments and folders inside of folders with more assignments. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
She's a very understanding and helpful teacher. She did everything she could to reach out to her students and answer any questions. She also made sure everyone was comfortable with the online format. The class does have a lot of assignments and quizzes, but they all balance out in the end. Don't slack, and you'll do fine! SHE IS THE SWEETEST!!
Took this when covid started (hybrid) then we went online. Overall, Kathy is very caring professor. She will assist and guide you when there's a topic or quiz questions that are hard to understand. Exams are fair, she gives you a week to submit. Students needs to put effort tbh bec quizzes are graded after 3rd attempt. She is a good teacher!
Kathy is a fine professor. If you are someone who like a syllabus, wants to check on your grade, and works ahead, this is not the class for you. If you on the other hand need someone to walk you through things, and the less you know about the course is better, this will be perfect for you. She does truly care for her students.
Kathy is great! I hadn't taken math since high school which was over 10 years ago! She wants all of her students to succeed and pass her class. Kathy explains everything so clearly during her lectures which is helpful. Lots of quizzes so beware! Kathy is always ready to help so reach out to her! Accepts late work until the last day of the semester.
Kathy was honestly a lifesaver, considering I've struggled with math all my life. The work was relatively easy, and she makes it very easy to understand concepts that seem confusing, would definitely take her class again!
Kathy cares about her students; therefore, she will be there to help you understand the material. It is a difficult course but asking a lot of questions is what helped me passed. She explains the material until you understand it. Love the presentations. I learned to read and interrupt an article/infographics. I used Statistics in the real world.
this class was great for me, I suck at math and saying this is big. Do the modules on time and before class, take notes of the modules and the interpretations she writes during class, do good on the projects which are easy if you pay attention and ask many questions! Kathy is super considerate and caring so dont be afraid to ask questions
Shes makes herself available before and after class. Math is not my thing, and I would take her class again. Highly recommended!
Kathy is a very caring professor. I do not like math in general, but her class wasn't terrible there is a lot to learn, and there are a lot of quizzes, but you get multiple attempts at them. There is a big exam at the end as well as a final. I would take her again.
Kathy is the best professor I have ever had. She cares a lot about her students and wants them to succeed. She's an amazing professor and explains concepts very well. We go over a lot of problems before quizzes and exams and she walks through each step. She taught the material in a way that we would understand it, do the work and you will pass!
YOU MUST TAKE PROFESSOR KUBO I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY SHE HAS A 3.3. YOU MUST DO ALL THE ASSIGNMENTS IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND WHAT SHES GOING TO LECTURE ON. SHE IS SO HELPFUL SHE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND, SO IF YOU FAIL ITS BECAUSE YOU DID NOT GIVE YOUR 100%. TRUST YOULL PASS THE FIRST TIME IF YOU DO YOUR BEST.
Professor Kathy was an amazing teacher. Her course does have lots of work but she gives you plenty of time to complete them. She responds quickly to emails and is also very understanding if you are submitting work late.
Kind hearted, she takes the course slow, because she want her student to fully grasp and understand statistics. Online course, was ok with late working being turned in as long as it WAS turned in, lots of check in quizzez mostly just to check in on how her students are understanding the materical. Show up, put in the effort and its a great class.
Professor Kubo cares about her students! . she is always available to assist and and wants you to pass her class. she gives tons of extra credit, late work is ok and she does not deduct points for late work. There is alot of homework but its fairly easy. not sure why professor Kubo has such low rating, she is awesome!!
Kathy genuinely cares about her students & their success. Her canvas is easy to navigate & accessible. She accepts late work w/ no deductions, allows retakes on tests, & answers messages back promptly. I don't think this class could've been any better even if it had been in person. There is a lot of work but it is so worth it!!! Thank you, Kathy!!
She's a caring and patient professor. She loved answering questions and she never made anyone feel dumb. She explains things thoroughly. She records videos of the class so if you miss a class or need to review a concept, it's on canvas. You get three tries on module quizzes, use stat crunch, and do two stats projects (1-self, 2-group)
I hadn't been to school in quite awhile. Professor Kathy was the greatest intro to statistics teacher I could have asked for. She's very caring, and doesn't mind explaining the material until you get it. Non rushed. Expect to participate, as well as 1-2 chapter a week which aren't bad. A very small quiz at the end of classes.
Genuinely one of the kindest and most accommodating professors I've ever taken. I suck at math but she was so understanding and helpful always gave extensions when needed and really wanted us to succeed. She deserves the world I hope she wins the lottery or somethin fr
I LOVEEE PROFESSOR KATHY, she is the best math teacher i ever had! excepts late work for full credit, she is very patient and is willing to meet on zoom before the class starts. Shes always asking for feedback making sure you understand the material. i love her class and she is very understanding. YOU WILL BE VERY LUCKY IF U GET HER CLASS trust me
Kathy is a very sweet lady, but I'll be brutally honest, her lectures are extremely monotone and boring. Also if you're like me and prefer to always be able to see your grade, this will definitely not work for you as she believes in not showing your grade on canvas. Class is relatively easy though.
Kathy is an amazing math teacher. She truly wants all her students to pass with amazing grades. She's super friendly and is ALWAYS sweet. There was a lot of assignments but she accepted late work and still gave us full points. Exams and finals were open notes & we were allowed to look on canvas for help too. It's hard to say how amazing she was!
Kathy is wonderful!!! She was so understanding and respect and not to mention so kind! I would take her class again! The only cons I will note is she doesn't allow students to see their grades. She will update you on your grade periodically which was a little worrisome sometimes. Also, can get a little lecture heavy at times but she is so helpful!!
Kathy is amazing. She is always always willing to do whatever it takes for your success and to make sure you are clear. She is a great instructor and very nice person. You will be lucky to have her class. So intelligent and caring.
Kathy was genuinely amazing. I have never seen such an outpouring of love for a teacher before. I hate math, but she made the material so easy to understand. I can confidently say she has her students' best interests at heart. I would recommend absolutely everyone take her class, especially if you've struggled with math in the past.
Professor Kathy is amazing! She genuinely cares about her students and makes the material so easy to understand. Definitely take her class, even if you struggle with math. Using Unstuck study and the recorded lectures really helped me ace this course.
I thought I was bad at math...the teacher makes all the difference. I've never had a professor so caring. Miss Kathy truly wants you to succeed & will help you until you understand. Seriously, take this class. If you show up & want to learn, you'll pass. Allows retakes on module quizzes, super responsive, gives grace for life, drops lowest grades.
Miss Kathy was absolutely the best professor I have ever had in my COC career. We as students were struggling & someone spoke up so she changed the whole structure of her class to help us understand the subject. She is the most sincere kindest soul & granted us so much grace as students. There are 26 modules with 5-10 mini quizzes will be work !
Miss Kathy was awesome! Really sweet down to earth, and cares about her students first. Lecture will be long and there is always either a quiz or breakout rooms. We had 4 exams and they were in two parts with a final in two parts as well. We had one presentation which was an easy A just show effort! Modules can be load heavy so be ready to work.
The structure and the way the class it taught it amazing. I was able to learn and do well in the class thanks to the professor. Truly the best professor I have ever had. It was refreshing to take a class with a professor that is passionate about teaching + the subject material. She gives you all the tools to succeed it's up to you do to the work.
Kathy is a great teacher! I would recommended her statistics class to anyone even those not so good at math like me. She makes sure you understand the work and is willing to help you as much as you need.
Kathy is Awsome! You have Questions? She HAS Answers. She explains things until you understand. SHE MAKES THIS CLASS FUN
I LOVE KATHY! I don't like math and i struggle on it but she made this class SO FUN. The 4 hours honestly flew by every time. She is the most caring professor ever. She is so full of love and life. There was quizzes every class day but they were very short. We around maybe 4 or 5 big tests but the notes are a lifesaver. TAKE NOTES!!
Kathy is one of, if not THE BEST math professor out there. She is detailed and answers ALL of your questions. Does not rush lessons, and is VERY patient and understanding. There IS a lot of homework to complete, but it is not hard. She is available 24/7, and I mean that. Heavy on the tests and projects, but she is amazing! 100% recommend! Easy A :)
This professor is super easy going and understanding when you are struggling. She communicates really well and fast responding.
i LOVED her STAT-C1000E class, it is simple, and easy to understand. She explains the process very clearly, and i would personally take her class every term if i could!
Ms. Kathy is an incredibly caring and easy-going instructor who is truly passionate about what she teaches and does. She's very friendly and always shows a lot of patience with her students, which makes the class feel comfortable and stress-free.Overall, Ms.Kathy is an amazing teacher who goes above and beyond for her students.
