Dr.Nabona is a very informative and helpful. She goes over everything multiple times, but she is not a "freebie." I recommend her to all science major students.

I hated this class, because we had test every 10 days, meaning 8 tests total for the semester and Final! and long homeworks. She is a good teacher though. It's just hard to enjoy the class knowing that every Monday you have wait in line to the testing center , especially if you have other classes.
I had to retake Chem I and she was GREAT! I had a tragedy hit me mid semester and she really took the time to work with me and help me out. Never attended a lecture so I don't know much about her lecture skills. Worked at my own pace and pulled a B. She was always there to help out when needed.
Awesome teacher who makes the hardest things very simple to understand. She gives many tests to break up the material. Much easier to make a good grade that way.Never used the text. She's got her own slides. Tests are easy and she reviews everything in detail before the tests. Best teacher I've had in a lecture class. Really cool and 80's hot!
Not exactly the best Chemistry teacher; however, she is extremely knowledgeable. The class is fast paced, maybe because I took her during the course of summer. If you are not understanding the concepts, she will not be able to break it down into easier terms. There are 8 tests. You can only bomb one.
Great theacher. She is very knowlegable and very nice to help you. Nobody drops in her class. The test is not so easy, but if you listen her lecture and do your homework by your own, you'll be OK to get your A.
She is nice and really smart. All of the tests are straight from her notes, which she prints out and gives you!!
Nabona assumes that all her students are fresh out of highschool and still are fresh with chem. She was never in her office during hours/didnt return msgs. 8 Tests means almost every week there is a test and all tests but the final are put in the testing center which means waiting in looooong lines. She was ok but not great
Dr. Nabona was REALLY easy but she made you learn. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to make an A and still learn. Her test were the easiest thing I have ever seen (although I had already aced chemistry in High school).
Good teacher, knowledgeable and experienced teacher; however she assumes all of her students are right out of high school... Lots of tests so each one doesn't count as much, but lots of material to cover; however, the tests are rather easy. LOTS of homework.
Great teacher. Explains things well and gives a handout for every unit. This makes it easy to study for her tests. It may be an easy A, but you learn.
she might be good teaching inorganic but she is teaching organic way too fast and students can't follow her. It feels like she is at the blackboard to show us how much she knows not to worry about what student retained from her lecture. My advise, take organic after you tranfer to a university if you are interested in quality lectures.
Dr. Nabona gives 8 tests in this class in a 14 week semester. There is homework assigned every class which is due the next class day of the same week. She does not drop any test grades, or homework grades. There is no written paper, or opportunity for extra credit. Her teaching style is unclear and patronizing.
Dr. Nabona made the class very easy. You will learn, because she assigns homework almost every class, but it is usually short. She teaches from powerpoint and she gives you the slides. There are a lot of tests, but they are not difficult if you grasp the homework.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
Great Professor for Organic or Inorganic. She makes understanding O. Chem about as easy as you can expect it to be. By the end, you know your stuff. Would recommend to anyone.
I took her last semester and she was great. She explains everything clearly and is available outside of class to help you. She gives a lot of tests which gives you a better chance of passing the class. I highly recommend her. I'm taking her for chem 2.
She's an awesome organic teacher. She's made the class much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Her style of teaching makes it easy to understand such a complex subject. She's one of the best college profs I've ever had.
Dr. Nabona lecture's easy to follow. On the first 3 units, she gives you basic backgrounds before the real lecture. There're homeworks everyday but she always does at least 3 exact examples in class. You'll have 7-10 days to take the test. There're 8 tests so if you screwed up 1, there're 7 to make up. You won't need the book, she'll give handout.
Dr. Nabona is a great professor who can relate the material wonderfully. Not only that but she's fun and extremely helpful. She gives 8 tests and tons of homework. She teaches from powerpoint and gives handouts. Between that and the homework there are your tests. Plenty of room for error if your not strong on one topic. I would highly recommend!
Dr. Nabona is an excellent teacher and i would recommend her to anybody. She gives 8 tests throughout the semester which gives you room for error, and gives you a lot of homework which really helps. She is always able to help and is just a very fun person regardless.
She is EXTREMELY accommodating and communicative if you ask for her help. Goes through material quickly, has lots of tests but she is really thorough in lecture. I learned a lot and became more interested in the subject as a result. She's cool!
is great for students who need structure.
Hands down best prof yet. Dr. Nabona is sweet, empathetic and knows her subject. Her homework is great prep for the tests which are taken in the testing center. She will readily pause a lecture to make sure everyone is up to speed. Her class is not an easy A though. You have to show up and take notes, but she is an absolute pleasure to learn from.
Great professor! Very knowledgable and fun. Reminds me of Ms. Frizzle.. lots of homework but the tests are exactly like the hw, which makes it super easy! Highly recommend!
Professor Nabona is AMAZING!!!! Super clear with her lectures, DONT use textbook-use her powerpoints, funny, down to earth. I hate chemistry & made a D in intro chem & landed a B in this class!! TAKE HER!!!!
Enough good things can't be said about Dr. Nabona. Tests are exactly like homework problems, she is clear, thorough, and helpful in class, she CARES about her students, and she provides everything you need for the course in PowerPoint presentations accessible through Blackboard. What more could anyone possibly ask for? Take this professor!!
Dr. Nabona is an outstanding professor. She teaches at a good pace and provides loads of in-class examples for each concept. She offers lots of homework and is prompt about grading it and the exams. Her tests are based on homework, so if you're not prepared for the exam, it's on you.
Her tests are basically the homeworks, so I don't know how you can't pass the exams. It's an easy class, but there are like 7 or 8 tests throughout the semester. It gets overwhelming, especially with 4 other classes. The lab section isn't that bad either. The lab quizzes she gives every class are sort of unnecessary, but the labs are super easy!
Wow! Dr. Nabona is one of my favorite professors of all time, I am disappointed she does not teach CHEM 1312. She breaks down the information in an extremely easy to understand method. She makes it so easy that I am excited to take CHEM II.
Best Professor at ACC. Teaches Chemistry like its her second language. Love Her. Even if you've made an F or a D in Chemistry all your life, i GUARANTEE that with Kathy you'll make at least a B. If and ONLY if your able to study the material and listen in class.
easy class making "A" if u take this class seriously. she teaches is exatly what she tested in exam and she teaches in such a way that this class seems easy.
By far the best chem prof.you can imagine to take.Clear and concise with her lectures. Great at answering ?s and explaining things. She stays on topic, but makes it fun.If you need to continue on in chem, take her she'll prepare you. Even though ive been called a chem geek, YOU will get an Easy A if you go to class, pay attention, and minimal study!
I was told she was the best chem professor in Austin and she has totally lived up to that rep. First off, she's knows her stuff and secondly, she is amazing at being able to transmit her knowledge to just about anyone -- regardless of how dense you might think you are at chem. Do the homework, listen in lecture and you'll do great.
What an awesome and amazing teacher. I recommend her to everyone. Her knowledge of Chem is impressive. I had such a crush on this woman, her mind, her looks, her attitude. Simply the best.
I still wonder how her overall quality is still not at the maximum. This teacher is simply the best for both those who are major in chemistry and those who aren't. She is clear at everything. I think everyone can make an easy "A" if they just simply pay attention to the lectures and do their homework. Take her, you won't regret it.
By far the best teacher I have ever had for any class. She explains everything in the clearest possible manner, repeats important concepts a lot so you know them, and the homeworks are perfect practice for the tests. I have never rated a professor before, but she was amazing. I leave class each day clearly understanding more than when I arrived.
You will work in this class for your grade -- and she will prepare you very well for any standardized test. I actually wish she taught other subjects because her strong suit is getting really tough material into thick heads like mine. This is probably the best prof I've ever had. Huge props!!
Prof. Nabona teaches her material very thoroughly and will definitely prepare you for a future in Chemistry. I did feel that she grades homework/tests rather harshly though. Also her 7 exams plus a 2 part final seem a bit excessive (very big on nomenclature). She always makes herself available in case you need help. Plan on a LOT of studying!
Very knowledgeable prof! Her quizzes and homework reflect the tests and prepare one well. She explains very well and loves the subject. Plan to do a lot of studying and dedicate a lot of time toward HW. HW assigned almost every class period and due the following period. Lab quizzes are held at the beginning of the class! Tough Grader! STUDY HARD!
Is a tough grader, lectures are exactly what is on the test. no surprises. Tests are just a little more difficult than the homework is.
Lectures were excellent. Sometimes answered emails, sometimes not. Overall good professor.
She will turn you into a scientist! You will work harder than you ever have to earn an A. Most amazing and best teacher I've ever had. And she's a really cool person, too. HW is "old exam questions" but the actual exam questions are much more difficult. Be prepared to devote many hours to studying. Tests average around 2-3.5 hours.
Excellent professor. She will answer questions several times to ensure students understand. Very patient and professional. I would recommend her to anyone.
I absolutely love Dr. Nabona! She is the most amazing teacher ever. She is so lovely. Instead of using the expensive textbook, she uses her own PowerPoint slide shows. She thoroughly breaks down chemistry to an easily understood level. EVERY class is important.See her during office hours for more help. Do all hw. HW and test go hand and hand!
She is a very great teacher. Always be clear and gives rigid explanations in her materials. Also very organize and prepare for every class. Too bad I only got her in CHEM lab, I wish I would have gotten her for my chemistry lecture instead
I took her for Ochem 1. She is a very good professor. She explains the topics very well though there is a lot to learn. I absolutely love her as a professor and I wish she could teach Ochem 2
Dr. Nabona is a great professor. She's always happy to help and is thorough in her explanations. I'm excited to take CHEM 1312 with her next semester. Highly recommend!
Nabona is a great teacher! She is always happy, and always very helpful. If you want to succeed, she wants you to succeed. IF you want to do well, you have to do the work, but you keep up with the material and do the work, you will perform great in Nabona's class. IF my chemistry course, there is no doubt I would pick Nabona as my professor again.
Nabona is a great teacher! She is always happy and always very helpful. If you want to succeed, she wants you to succeed. IF you want to do well, you have to do the work, but if you keep up with the material and do the work, you will perform great in Nabona's class. Nabona teaches well so as a teacher, she is good. But when it comes to exams, she would not let go a single chance to chop your marks. Because of teachers like Nabona, students get demoralized lose interest in the subject. Moreover she wants students to know every detail about her family, her husband and son and the extra credit is based on that.
Not sure where to start. Kathy is the best professor I have EVER had throughout years of college. She really cares and teaches with passion. If you work hard and see her during office hours, you will be successful! She prepares you well for each test, gives extra credit and if you do well on the final she will drop a poor test grade!
The class goes at a fast pace, but it's definitely manageable. She explains things quite well, and will definitely help you to understand anything you ask about. Good chem professor. Oh, and it's helpful to memorize all the personal details she gives on the first day.
I took Dr. Nabona for Intro., Gen. Chem. I, and Org. II (she wasn't available for the others) and she is, by far, the best professor or teacher I have ever had. She will continually rephrase and work things in class, and then go over them in office hours if you don't get it. You WILL learn the material and she's passionate about her work!
Nabona is a great professor. Her lectures are at a fast pace though. Her exams are similar to examples in class and homework. The amount of effort you put into the course is the amount you are going to get out. Pay attention in class because there is where she gets her exam questions from. Study groups also help.
By far THE best Chemistry Professor there is. If I could take her for the rest of my life, I would for sure major in chemistry. She is so vivid on chemistry concepts. I took Ochem 1 with her and I feel like I know it a lot better than my UT friends. I really wish she taught Ochem 2. The best professor I have learned from hands down.
She is an awesome chem teacher, had her for Gen Chem 1 & 2. They are taught the exact same way. She knows how to teach, and will explain material so everyone can understand. Tests are in the same format as the daily homework (generally due next class period) which is modeled after lectures. If you attend class you wont have any problem in passing.
Nabonna is amazing! She is so clear with her notes that anyone will be able to understand the concept. If you are good with the homework then you will be good with the tests! A lot of tests however it is very easy to make an A or B in her class. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOOK
Nabona is AMAZING. She is very thorough in her teachings and is really passionate about chemistry. The tests are formatted the same as the homework and study guides, which are helpful. Don't buy the textbook you won't need it! I would definitely take her again if I could!!
Amazing professor, Her lectures are very thorough, you can tell she loves her job. She is always willing to help you if you do not understand something. Would have loved to take her for org 2 but she was not teaching it at the time. If you need a chemistry class, TAKE HER!
Dr. Nabona is a saint. You can tell that she is a passionate professor who cares about the material + helping students. I think she's hilarious too. Always there for office hours. Lectures + homework are very clear. I would definitely take her again. You're gonna have to work for you grade, but she makes getting a good grade totally doable.
I am taking Ochem right now and I wish I had taken it with Dr. Nabona. She is one of a kind and I enjoyed learning General Chem I and II from her!!! She is a great teacher and she is one of the professors who inspired me to be a better person and she helped me love and enjoy what I learn. Take her if you get the chance.
I have not taken any chem classes and I wrongly took O. Chem as my first. The little time I was in it, I was keeping up and was not doing bad. Kathy is extremely clear and gives you the materials you need to succeed. She is very kind and helpful. I really enjoyed her as my teacher. Will take her for all chem courses if possible. Highly recommended.
Her lecture is very clear and she has an amazing handwriting. Very clean and neat!I had to take 7 exams including final ( final is mendatory), so I took a test almost every week. She also gives study guide. It is pretty easy course but don't slack off, then you start drop your grade. The quiz and final will be hard (these made my grade from A to B)
Great professor! Understands that Chemistry is a difficult subject and that many students have different learning styles. Very kind lady.
Nabona is a great teacher. You have to commit yourself to get your desired grade. There is a lot of hw, 5 tests, and a final. Study guides are available. Overall, a great teacher.
Great teacher who explains things very well. Sometimes her grading can be tough, but what you end up with by the end of the semester is very fair especially given the large extra credit assignment for final review. Lots of work, but you also leave well prepared for O Chem II. Expect to devote a lot of time to this class. The lab is a lot of work.
Overall a very enjoyable class with many chances to make up for your mistakes. Final doubles up as a lowest test grade replacer and its own separate grade. A study guide for the final is also worth some extra credit. Is very approachable during lecture time and will not mock your for your weaknesses and explains very effectively. Very accommodating
Had an exceptional semester in Chem 1. The lectures are well organized and the concepts were explained very well. Mrs. Nabona is truly one of the best professors at ACC. Take her class if you have the option. You won't be let down.
Prof. Nabona is very clear in her lectures. She is very patient and easy to reach out to. The textbook is not needed but many test questions come from it. She gives test reviews and sometimes extra problems to practice. Before the test, re-do all of the homework in the section, ptactice the study guide, then you can take the test. I recommend it
This class was tough but Dr. Nabona did a great job of teaching the material. She is very approachable and more than willing to help you during her office hours. If you attend class, do your homework and check your understanding with her on a regular basis you will do fine.
Dr. Nabona explains things very well. She uses many examples during lecture to make sure the student understands how to apply the rules. I was afraid of Chemistry before taking her class but she explains concepts so well that it is empowering.
She's a great professor and explains things beautifully, but her homework is extensive, and it tends to be easier than the test. With organic chem, there's no real way to know whether you got something correct, because there are literally infinite numbers of configurations of molecules and reactions. I just wish the homework would have reflected.
Dr. Kathy Nabona is a great professor. you would not have to worry about books. She would provide everything you need to score "A" or even better. 90% of her students score an "A" in average. She has very wide knowledge about chemistry and she will be always available for students. She works happily with her students.
She is such a kind instructor. Always available to answer questions in office hours and is super lenient. She DEFINITELY deserves a medal!
Gen Chem 1, 2 and O Chem 1. She will walk you through everything you need to know. HOmework is excellent practice for exams. She'll make you think during exams. Makes gen chem lab easy, but O Chem 1 lab is intense, quizzes and reports to write but you'll come out knowing real chemistry. Excellent for MCAT. Can't imagine taking chem with anyone else
Am amazing professor. Tests are pretty hard, though nothing you wouldn't be able to solve if you study (well prepared) and do the homeworks. She knows how to explain extremely well and does 100 times better the texxbook (don't miss her lectures)
Amazing professor! Regular homework thats excellent practice for the tests. Lectures are well thought out and clear. Didn't need book but regular attendance, while not mandatory, is required for understanding. She will make you work, but will prepare you and make sure you understand the material. Show up, study, do the homework, and it will be fine
Nabona is awesome. Her classes fill up fast so if you have the opportunity to take it, do not let it go. She takes ALL the time of the class to explain and review exercises similar to the ones in the tests. If you pay attention, do the homework and the study guides, you are going to be just fine.
Chemistry is my weakest scholastic subject. Taking Nabona means an hour drive to class for me. I don't regret it at all. I feel like I am finally understanding that which I struggled with in HS. She explains very slowly for everyone in class, and goes over every detail. Tests are basically the homework. I feel very confident about chem now.
Nabona made me like Chemistry again after almost changing my major prior to her class. (I had the WORST Chem prof the semester before, and completely doubted myself and my choices.) Nabona restored faith in myself. She is worth it.
I would say you get out what you put in, and this class proves it. The lectures are clearly explained. She is there for and genuinely cares about her students. She is funny, and its easy to want to do the work because she teaches so well. She makes chemistry enjoyable.
Nabona is an awesome instructor. I took her last semester for O Chem and was always in her office and made an A. She explains the material so well. I am at UT Austin now and thanks to her I am acing my courses. She helped me and made all the difficult material so clear and enjoyable to learn.
Firm but fair. A gamer, brilliant and easy going. She is patient, can rephrase concepts, and will never make you feel dumb for asking questions. Tests are moderate to easy, homework is super helpful, BIG extra credit at the end. Would take her for every chem class if I could :)
Nabona is AWESOME! I took her for chem 1 & chem 2 and I really enjoyed her lecture & lab although chemistry is not my major. She gives HW almost every class but its helpful for the test. She does a lot of test throughout the semester but this helps you focus on each unit instead of confusing you with more content. Always available in office hours!
Had her for Chem 1, 2 and OC1. Too bad she doesn't teach OC2. Has the patience of a saint. Homework every class. Do homework and you study for exam. Do extra credit and you study for final. She gives you everything you need to know. Hardly ever needed tutors. Available for office hours. Very helpful in lab. Easy A with little effort. Just Awesome.
Her lectures are just so amazing and organized. 7 total exams are so easy (1 final in class). Follow her study guide and redo your homework, you totally can get 100+ on your exams. Homework is short, easy, and due every day. The exams are a little long, so show up early at the testing center 2 hours or more to make sure you have enough time.
Professor Nabona was my most favorite professor that I took for the Spring of 2018. She was really kind and responsive to all of the students in her class, and is just fun to be with and have a conversation with. She does however give tests that are super long and intuitive, but I highly recommend her for any chemistry course that you want to take.
Dr. Nabona is one of the best professors that I've had at ACC. This was the second time I had class with her and I wish I could take more. She has a real passion for chemistry and it shows in her lectures. She is a great TEACHER with very organized lectures. Very intelligent and creates a great classroom environment.
I have such a good foundation of knowledge in Organic Chemistry thanks to her. Her lectures are thorough, well organized and helped me understand reactions so completely that I feel like I am ready for the DAT. It was a privilege to be in one of her classes. The other chem professors at ACC should be required to sit in on one of her lectures.
Professor Nabona is one of the best professors I've had! She does a great job of explaining concepts, the tests follow the study guides, she is available during her office hours or by email to answer questions, and offers extra credit. She is a professor that knows the subject is already difficult and wants to see her students succeed.
Best science teacher ever. Hated o-chem before this and she turned me into a believer. Very heavy on workload, papers due every week for lab and homework due every day for lecture, but it helps you study for the exams. Took 2-3 hours per day of studying. She is there for her students and genuinely loves teaching.
Possibly the most organized professor I've witnessed. Very patient and thorough when explaining concepts in detail. Tests are similar to homework, which are similar to lecture! It actually makes sense! I wish I could take more of her classes.
I have never seen a teacher who takes so many points off on the test papers or homeworks. Like 2 to 3 Fs and 4 to 6 Ds in the class in her every test. I have never seen so many people were getting Fs and Ds in any high level math and Physics classes in my entire life. Her class was just General Chemistry it's not even Organic Chemistry. Sad for
She takes a lot points off and she all about sig fig. She takes about 70 to 80% points off if you miss sig fig. I never seen a teacher who takes so many points off. No partial credit even if your answer is partially correct. She is not easy like you think.
She is a good overall professor, but she grades with an iron fist. There is no partial credit given and she takes off half points for significant digit rules. However, she seems to really care about her students she clearly explains the material in class. You just better show up, otherwise you're going to have a date with the textbook to catch up.
I would recommened! Took her for both of my chem classes. However, if you are not good with sig figs In her class, she can fail you for that. Takes off way many points for that and no partial credit. 4 tests, comprehensive final, 26 hw sheets, and up to 45 extra credit points. Only thing I disliked is her importance to sig figs more than concept.
Dr. Nabona is an excellent teacher who will teach you everything you need to know about chemistry. Her lectures are easy to follow, and I would highly recommend writing down everything she writes on the board. Overall she's thorough and at times picky, but she will always tell you exactly what she wants and will show you how to succeed!
Her lab is so fun! She gives clear instructions before every lab and will always ensure that everyone is safe! You do have to attend every lab to guarantee an A, but you would want to come back and learn more and more! Dr. Nabona is the very best professor who loves Chemistry and everyone should take her lab!
Dr. Nabona is such a great professor. I'm not even a chemistry major, do not care about chemistry at all, but if I still had electives left to take I'd consider taking another class with her. I might actually understand chem now. If I could hit all the good tags, I would. (Also, did great dealing with the sudden online classes!)
Really enjoyed her lectures and personality. She's very well organized and explains everything slowly to make sure everyone understands. One of the great professors that i had an opportunity to take. Helps a lot because she cares about her students.
Dr. Nabona really knows her subject. She is the first OChem teacher that actually teaches the material in a way that will make you understand it. While she doesn't give your everything, she does give you the steps for success. The ability to rewatch lectures is nice since she assigns LOTS of homework which can be either grade boosting or a downer.
Dr. Nabona is a pandemic treasure: her online Chem Lecture class is fantastically well set up. She is super accessible by Zoom drop in times, and responsive to email. She walks you through complex material clearly. She's an incredible professor that you will learn well from thanks to her YouTube lectures and organized materials. BEST science prof!!
Dr Nabona is a nice lady. I like her lectures, they go into depth and are done synchronized and not in random order. Yall have to be good with significant digits as she is particular about them. If you go for office hours and get help you are guaranteed to do very well in the class. The labs are organized and explanatory by her. Take her if you can
She's a fine professor, but there is so much homework. You have two to three HW a week and one quiz. the quiz can take up to two and a half hours. She makes it clear what she wants you to know, but she repeats herself a lot. She also goes by a point system.
You feel like you learn nothing. She will give you all the easy answers but not explain the hard ones. Her grading system is odd and she's serious about significant figures.
Dr. Nabona is awesome. Ochem 1 was an extremely hard class, but her lectures are extremely well organized and helped make the class more manageable. She is one of the best Chemistry professors overall, take her if you can.
She really knows her stuff and emphasizes comprehension over memorization. I took her class online; she had filmed herself doing lectures which allowed her to hold office hours basically the entire day (10:30am-8:30pm). She doesn't accept late work so time management is a must. The only "attendance" required is to check in once a week:zoom or email
Dr. N made the class as good as it could have been for someone who hates chem. U can tell she really loves chemistry and teaching. The best thing is how available she is to answer questions, she had so many office hours. The worst part is she is a slow grader and pretty tough grader esp for lab. She uses a point system tho so you can makeup points
Dr. Nabona is a wonderful teacher. She explains chemistry so well and makes it easy for anyone to understand. Her lectures are concise and clear. Her coursework is pretty intense, 29 homework assignments and 15 quizzes that each take over an hour. But I would still take her again anyway because she's that good.
Super nice and plenty of office hours. Everything was on your own, lots of hw and quizzes once a week. All open note. She gives so many examples in her videos and easily breaks down the steps and clearly answers any questions. The biggest thing that will make you lose points is if sig digits are off. She is amazing !
Dr. Nabona is lots of work but high reward becuase you learn so much. She makes very abstract, complicated topics understandable. There is a lot of homework and she is a tough (but fair) grader. She's very accessible outside class and provides great help. Wish she taught all my classes every semester.
Weekly Homework and quizzes that are not necessarily hard, just time-consuming. The course is a lot of work, but she makes it quite manageable. Everything is open notes, which helps but you still need to know the content. Quick grading with good feedback. Always available during her office hours and responds quickly through email.
OCHEM 2 Lab. Experiments are performed every week, with the lab report due 1 week after the lab is done. Lab reports are long and she expects allot of detail. She provides a very clear outline of what to include, it just takes a long time to do them. Weekly lab report quizzes that are easy and open notes. Only 1 exam at the end of the course.
Dr. Nabona is a good lab explainer but does the hardest lab reports. She is so particular about what she wants in each, she will take off points for any rambling and/or wrong significant digits. She is willing to help you cover all your gray areas that you may be having. She teaches in an a way that you can apply the lab concepts for later courses.
Nabona is great at explaining difficult topics. She teaches in a "flipped classroom" setting so in class you have time to do the hw in class and ask questions. Watch the lectures! She responds to emails fast and is very helpful with all of her assignments. She takes the time to go over examples for each unit and is very kind& there is extra credit!
I took Gen Chem I with Prof. Nabona. I did not know beforehand that the class was flipped-format, so we were basically watching lecture videos and doing homework in class, and attendance is mandatory. She was very helpful and kind, but I just didn't like the way the class was structured. 1 comprehensive final, lots of homework, weekly quizzes.
cant cuss so imagine whatever makes you happy. Dr. Nabona is $#%^&@* amazing. ive taken every lab & lec w/ her since gen lec; its now 2 weeks before the end of orgo and id love to continue. her passion for chem & teaching is clear & inspiring. She makes chem easy. $#%^ a char. limit i want to say so much more; but stop looking. take her class
I took Dr. Nabona for Chem II and O-chem, and I can't recommend her enough! She is probably the best Prof I have had at ACC. She is kind, firm, and sets clear expectations. While her class is time-consuming, she will check everything you do before you turn it in and help you fix mistakes. Show up, do the work, and you will earn a solid grade.
Dr. Nabona is the best professor for Chemistry. I took Chem I, Chem II and Organic Chemistry with her and I can't recommend her enough. Sometimes you may feel that she gives a lot of homework, but doing those work and watching her lectures on time and making sure she checks your work before submitting will definitely get you an A in class.
Professor Nabona is an excellent teacher who understands her students well. I took a 3-month course, and while it was homework-heavy, she always would check my work before I submitted it and guided me. Quizzes and tests were all online, however work was required. Overall very easy class with a great professor.
Professor Nabona is a great teacher who really breaks down complex chemistry topics. The flipped classroom format with video lectures and in-class work takes some getting used to, but using unstuck AI alongside the course materials makes studying much easier.
