This professor knows what she teaches very well. She made her class very interesting.
She doesn't seem to like teaching. She is always tired. Her tests are weird. It seems like she is analyzing us.
Mrs. Nabours is a good teacher. She's always willing to help all her students. Her lectures are very clear and her writing is clear. She's not a hard teacher at all and neither are the tests if you actually study and know what your doing.
Excellent Teacher who cares abouts passing, it's ok to fail the first test because she will do anything in her power to help you understand it when finals comes around. She gives review sheets to show what's going to be on the exam. Ask her anything you want she will help you with homework and more.
She is very helpful and offers a lot of time after class to anyone that wants to use it. Her test reviews are very similar to the test which makes things easier.
Kathy Nabours is a real teacher. She’s the real-deal, not a pre-canned instructor in it for a pay check. This is a real person who will go out of her way to help you succeed. I struggle with math and I came away with a B. Kathy paid me a compliment saying I earned every bit of it. I know it’s because I had a real teacher.
very very helpful!!! shows great concern for students and wants everyone to pass! A++++
She made class Interesting and fun. She explained everything and she help when you needed it!
she is an awesome teacher. i hated math but she lets me look forward to it.
Very good teacher. She doesnt skip steps and just assume that you know something. Her lectures prepared you for all the tests and homework so there were no surprises. I recommend her. It wasnt fun, but I learned a lot.
i love her shes the greatest rep. GATEWAY TO COLLEGE
Mrs. Nabours is such an awesome teacher. I highly recommend her if your looking for a great math teacher. She explains things so well that if you don't understand it the first time you will if you ask her to do it over again. She will keep explaining things until everybody understands it. She is a real teacher that will help.
Ms. Nabours is a really great professor. She will help anyone if they ask.She also gives test reviews which help out alot.I would highly recommend her.
she is wonderful, and I would indeed reccomend any one to take a class with her.
Mrs. Nabours is easily the best math teacher I have ever had, and probably will ever have. She is excellent at explaining things, and is very helpful in and out of class. I've never seen a professor who structures their classes so well.
She's the best!! I HIGHLY recommend taking her cllass
She is one of the best math teachers at RCC because she knows how to effectively teach and she is very approachable when students needs help. I highly recommend this teacher to anybody.
i was not a huge fan of math but she made it easy to understand and lets just say it's not quite so bad when you actually understand what's going on!
Does a good job explaining but she is extremely busy and she seems to not have enough time to explain to one who has difficulties in math. Do the homework and study.
she does good teaching the material in that she explains everything. Checks in-class notes.
What an incredible professor. She helped me actually enjoy math.I hope to take her in future math courses!
I took her for Math 25... I am pretty great in Math so i really enjoyed it! She teaches very clear, very helpful and the Test are rather easy if you know what you are doing! She is very beautiful! If you are bored you can stare at her...
I loved her you an work as fast as you want I finshe the class in a month if you need help she is there even if you are at home.wonders of computers. I take her for all my math classes
Mrs. Nabours class is somewhat easy.If you attend all lectures, and study the HW material you'll do fine. She gives textbook HW and online HW.The best part about it was that she collects HW every monday, so you have all week to do it.She did seem very busy everytime i visited her office hours, so some material was unclear.luckly she assigns and SI
Mrs. Nabours is the best math teacher at RCC. Math is very difficult for me and she explains math in a way that makes it easy. As long as you show up to class, do your homework and truly try your best she will pass u. She loves her students and wants them all to pass.
great teacher!
Mrs. Nabours is a very helpful teacher. She is very patient in the way she teaches and even if math is not your subject you will be sure to pass her class.
She's a great teacher. As some people mentioned; she explains the math to where makes it easy for her students to understand. take her if you can.
She is a great teacher! Took her web enhanced class during the summer. The lectures can be long but she tries her best to get us through it. She gave us a 15 min break every day. She is very helpful and nice. She made math a lot easier for me, i was very unconfident in math before her class, but i got an A and feel like i learned alot! Take her!
She is by far the best math teacher i have ever had throught all my years!! I ended up recieiving a 68% in the class and she passed me with a "C"..she is very understanding and sweet!
Never liked math before taking her class. It never made any sense until she explained it. Very helpful in the lab and in class. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand. Easy to follow in class and is willing to work with you on missed assignment if you show you are willing to learn the material. Would definitely recommend!!!
Mrs. Nabours is one of the college's best instructors!! She will do her best to explain everything real well and if you do not understand something she will gladly clarify it for you. She is a real nice teacher and the work is not hard! She is real understanding! I never understood math well until i took math with her! Great teacher!!
She's a great teacher! I hate math and usually slide by with a C-, but she actually made learning math fun. She has a really helpful way of teaching. Is probably the best math teacher at RCC!
She is an awesome teacher! Easily the best math teacher @ RCC. She explains everything clearly. a list of hw is given the first day and is collected once a week. always willing to help students during class and office hours. test are very fair and usually gives reveiw ?s before and the test is very similar to the test. wonderful teacher
I HATE MATH!!!! But thanks to Mrs. Nabours I not only understand it but I actually enjoyed doing it. She is extremely helpful, organized, and clear. I have learned so much and highly recommend her for any math.
One Word: AMAZING!! She is an awesome instructor and no other math teacher can compare.
Highly recommended, especially for people who dislike math (like me). Lectures were easy to follow and she made sure that everyone was prepared for tests.
Such a sweet professor! Really helpful and nice. The class was fairly easy. She will drop two of your lowest quiz scores at the end of the term. I enjoyed going to class everyday. She makes math fun and easy! She is more than willing to help you if you don't understand a problem. Overall, she's awesome!
Wow!! What a professor! She is will organized, clear and helpful. She is one of my FAVORITES.....I wish there were more professors that taught math, with the same enthusiasm and passion for the material as she does.
She was extremely nice and i almost couldn't even pay attention to the math because she's so gorgeous!
Very kind and caring professor of math...almost motherly the way she nurtures those who are in need of help...with patience, kindness, and gentleness...especialy Patient. Very good @ teaching. =)
prof. nabours was originally from ucr and is now an online inclass professor the best professor ever and i have had25 professors she is the best her classes are at your own pace
Even though I failed this class, Kathy was immensely helpful, nice, and fair. There is no such thing as an easy math teacher, but in terms of quality, Nabours is very good at what she does.
Loved her. I took Math 35 with her for my 2 try. She totally made me understand it, enjoy math more. She was very easy to talk and always willing to help. I really wish she taught more than math 35. Best math teacher at RCC for sure. Must take!!
Very tough subject matter, very fair instructor.
I have taken this class twice before with other teachers and have had little success. Mrs. Nabours was able to clearly explain the tough subject matter and make sure everyone understood. The class is not easy, but if you study and DO THE HOMEWORK you have a good chance of passing. It also helps that she is extremely nice.
Nabours might be nice, but that does not make her a good teacher. She wastes a lot of class time literally writing notes and word probs that take time from teaching the material. Also, if you have concerns about students disrupting the class don't expect her to do anything about it. She will say she "cant hear it"
Motherly teacher, wants everybody to pass. I recommend her.
She teaches in a clear understanding way. Also she goes teaches how to solve a problem step by step.
She's a great teacher. Homework is a big part of your grade when it comes towards the end of semester. If you do the homework consistently is definitely helps material come easier. I would recommend taking her. She's always there to help and will answer any question all you have to do is ask.
She is the best teacher ever. She is kind and the best teacher on the campus, in my opinion. She will help you with any problem that you have and explains it out well :D
go to her office hours for questions, go to SI, do the practice exams online, hw & you should be fine. Awesome professor & gives good notes. You have 6 exams which will help raise your grade if you do bad on one. Homework is required but its easy to get %100 on it because if you get the wrong answer you have unlimited chances to try & get it right
Kathy Nabours is by far the best math teacher I've had in a college course. She makes everything understandable and applies effective ways of teaching. I got an A in the course because she always said," The one who does the work does the learning." I wish she taught higher levels of math than math 35. I highly recommend.
She is the best math professor I've ever taken. I have struggled with math my whole life. She is extremely clear on her notes. DO THE HOMEWORK AND TURN IT IN ON TIME. I cannot stress enough how helpful it will be in the end for your grade AND you. GO TO SI SESSIONS. You will thank me later. She is incredibly kind. Wished she did more than MAT35.
For our final she didn't let the 20 people who were still taking it finish. Only four people finished. I recommend unless you know math really well and take tests quickly to take her class.
She is a wonderful professor because she cares about her student and there is not many teachers that care in college life. Do all your homework, Study, don't give up, andbe committed to the class and you will pass the class with a A.
Best math professor at RCC, she is so passionate about her students and wants everyone to pass. If you get the opportunity to take her DO NOT MISS IT! DO all the homework, do not slack off maintain 80-90% go to SI's and take her study tests online.
She is the best math teacher i have had so far. First year of math in college and she made things so much easier. She also does respond to emails and she is really down to earth. I love her class. expect a test every 2nd Monday and it is not that hard, the exams online are what help you.
Professor Nabours is a math GODDESS. Math has never been my best subject but she turned that around completely for me. Her notes are very clear and she is so understanding and kind. Expect homework daily and an exam every two weeks. She is my math mom. I would take her again if I could.
Nabours is the best math professor to have ever walked the planet earth. You have daily homework assignments and an exam every two weeks. If you use the study guides you will pass no problem. Utilize her during office hours she has no problem going over stuff with you and read The New Science of Learning it's essential.
This was an online class that met only for the tests. The homework was clear and the video lectures gave a lot of insight. Don't rely too much on the math lab suggestions to study, but make a note of the problems you have trouble with and take them to the tutoring or office hours. She was very available to me to help during that time to clarify!
Awesome teacher. Really cares about you and your grade. Do the homework and pay attention and you will be fine. The SI sessions help a lot too! Nabours is a great teacher. I would definitely recommend taking her.
Her lectures are extremely clear and organized. Take good notes, do all your homework, and study the chapter reviews for tests. She genuinely wants her students to pass & she cares. ALSO, there will be questions on her tests not related to math, but will teach you about how to be successful. I loved it"The one who does the work does the learning."
Professor Nabours is an incredible person! I seriously admire such a kindhearted woman like her, and I am honored to have had her as my teacher for MAT35. She truly cares, and took the time for students to truly dig deep with the fundamentals in order to get through the tougher materials. I recommend her, for sure!
Professor Nabours is the home girl, she is a very sweet person. I took her once and fail her class and I took her again and I passed her class with a C. One thing about her is she never gives up on you so you must try hard. She has a 6 exam policy, a final, hw, and class participation. So never miss class or you will be doomed.
Professor Nabours is the best math teach at RCC. She cares for her students. She's a very sweet and nice person. I loved her lectures. She was pretty straight forward of what she wanted us to do in class. Do the HW and study. She's awesome!!! I would definitely take her for any other math class again!!!
DO ALL THE HOMEWORK, AND SHOW ALL YOUR WORK ON EXAMS AS SHE WILL GIVE PARTIAL CREDIT.
I struggle so much with math, and she made it seem so clear to me, I wish all math professors were like her. She's approachable and caring. Her lectures and notes are clear enough to understand. She answers all the questions you have in an understandable manner. All the hw was online. Test were free response. I'd definitely take her again!
Professor Nabours is Awesome !! She is also very flexible and willing to hear you out not like other math professors who cut you off when you have a question. This class however has about a 25% success rate so if your gonna take it defintely take her class. This is my second time because I suck at math, but if I have to I will retake this with her.
Gives you lots of resources to learn such as video lectures, typed lectures, and her personal website. Amazing lectures that I truly benefited from. Handed out worksheets for most lessons that really helped me. When seeking help during class or office hours, she was always willing to assist.
Professor Nabours is possibly the best teacher I have ever seen. She literally does everything possible to help you succeed, if you take the opportunity she gives you. Follow the instructions, especially in the online class and there is absolutely no way that you could possibly fail. This teacher is the reason I want to be a teacher!
Nabours is a great teacher. Probably the best math teacher I have ever had. I took Math 35 and that class is no joke. Be ready to do homework and a lot of it. Their is a test every other week and homework is every night about 30 problems a night. If you take notes, study for test and do not skip class and pay attention. It is a hard class.
Professor Nabours is an amazing professor. Took her online class although I was reluctant to do so, but it was not as bad as I thought. Her lecture videos along with the printed lectures helped a lot. The nice part of this online class is you can review her videos over and over, unlike classroom lectures. Do the work and you'll be fine.
miss class you wont pass, i did not pass the class but math is not my thing i will be taking her again. 6 exams homework every night. i love that the lecture videos help a ton and she is more than willing to help during office hours
Professor Nabours is by far the best math teacher you will ever find! I lost my love math due to past teachers, but she made me find my passion for Math again. She makes learning fun and will help you out as much as possible. I passed with an A, but I was only able to do that by doing all the Homework and studying for the tests! so do HW and study!
She gives you all the tools you could need to succeed! Simply ask if you need extra help. She is available for office hours. So, If you are willing to learn the material, there is no better advantage than to take Professor Kathy Nabours.
I think she wastes a lot of time in class. She rushes through lecture (taking notes is a real struggle) and then spends half of class time going around the room and helping people individually. Like, I wouldn't need so much help if she didn't rush through lecture. And when I've asked her for help, she's hard to follow, just like in lecture.
Professor Nabours is a though grader, please do not take her! she doesn't understand students needs and she expects you to be an expert on the subject. She can get you confused by explaining different ways to solve a problem instead of just making it easier for the student to understand. She talks about calculus or trigo instead on focusing on 35.
*lectures are online as well in math lab *alot of HW like nearly everyday!! *very nice lady. and explains things very clearly and is patient. *test were not long like 10 (prob) and she gives u a chance to make up one prblm for a higher grade if u did all the homework & did the review quiz twice *dnt take class if u have other heavy load classes
Absolutely loved her online course! She provides lecture videos which have been SO HELPFUL! I took this same level of math in high school years ago and got a C-, but after taking her course, I passed with a 94%!! There's a lot of work to do every single day, but her positive attitude and genuine care for teaching her students makes up for it.
Professor Nabours is amazing. She gives plenty of time for notes and asks if everyone understands, her lectures are also online if you missed anything. she gives a lot of hw but she takes time in class if you have any questions and explains things clearly. Do the hw and ask questions and you will be fine.
Nabours is a great teacher. Her lectures explain everything, if you skip lecture you can expect a struggle to learn the concepts on your own. Though her power points do help. Very understanding. By far my favorite course this semester, would highly recommend.
I have always hated math. I took AP Stats in high school and received a D the first semester and dropped the 2nd. I was not excited about taking stats again in college. But she is beyond amazing. She loves when her students ask questions so she can help. She explains things so well and her test are easy if you keep you with the study guides and hw
Amazing professor but this class is quite difficult. There is homework due every morning which is very hard to keep up with. Tests every other week. I do not recommend taking this class if you are taking other classes. I did like the professor she is very caring and makes math easy to understand but the class is very rushed and overwhelming.
Lectures didnt match test
As a person shes sweet, empathetic, and caring. Professor wise, tests were rushed and got a little more difficult than usual. Our 4th exam was 5 days before the final. And the final was quite time consuming given the time we had. Didnt really get a chance to complete everything. Overall, she is sweet and caring but I wouldnt her take again.
Awesome professor! Makes all material really easy to understand answers all questions. Homework is not graded but you should definitely do it. Would definitely take her 1B class if I could.
She was great, she gives great lectures that are understandable and really cares for students! Just pay attention, take great notes, show up everyday, and apply yourself, you will see the real results! It also depends on the student as well, the sacrifices, and the effort the student is willing to do!
Very good notes!! Replaces worst test score with grade on the final :) explains everything really well!cares for students very understanding! Overall really great teacher.
GREAT TEACHER! She is really helpful
Professor Nabours is one of the most caring professors that I have met. She wants you to pass and is always open to office hours to help you. Her tests can be a little difficult so remember to study. She replaces your lowest test score with the final but dont let this be a last resort!
Professor Nabours hands down is the best math teacher at rcc! She genuinely cares about her students and will help you succeed if you're willing to do the work. Her exams can be difficult but if you're going to class and doing assignments on time, you'll do fine. 10/10 recommend.
Professor Nabours is the best math teacher you can ever take. Her lectures are spot on and will help you with the material. She focuses on learning, not memorization.
Professor Nabours is a kind and caring professor. I had a real tough time with my previous math class, so I was reticent to take Trigonometry, but she totally made me feel better about the class. Unfortunately, the CoVID lockdown happened during the class, which made things tougher, but she was right there with us to help. I recommend her highly.
She's an amazing professor; she's always willing to help and work with you IF you put in the effort. Replies to emails quickly and her lectures are super helpful :D
Took her in Fall 19. Used free online book. However, the homework problems were more difficult than what was taught in class and the test problems. She is really nice and very helpful though. She posts notes online. No study guide for tests. Homework for every chapter. 4 or 5 exams and 1 final.
I love Professor Nabours! She teaches very good, helps you if you need it, caring, super nice. For example I who struggle in math took this class very scared however I understand very well and would recommend taking her!
I took Professor Nabours Fall 2020 during the pandemic. She is a great professor, incredible at explaining the topics though her recorded lectures can be boring sometimes. Decent to large amount of homework that is more difficult than what she teaches and tests on. Grade sits mostly on 5 assessments and a final. We have 4 days to complete each.
She cares you can tell by the emails and the feedback she would give, but her grading on exams are extremely tough. I would get most of the answers correct on the exam and show my work and still get a failing grade. This was due to my work which I thought was readable and most of my friends agreed, but to her was not good enough.
Professor Nabours is one of the best I have taken so far at RCC. The online class is time consuming but to be expected for a math class. I love the way she records her lectures! She literally screen records herself doing every single problem on her iPad. I enjoyed it. I am taking her again for Calc 1 in the winter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER.
Very time consuming to watch a lecture a day and do the homework, but as long as you do what is assigned, you should be good to go. She was very sweet and the lectures she posted were very helpful and well taught.
Professor Nabours is incredible! So kind and is genuinely interested in helping her students succeed. There is a lot of homework, but pace out the homework well and it is manageable. There is a book you can read to get extra credit on the tests, and the book is wonderful and contains very helpful information. Cannot recommend her enough.
Grades very tough and will mark you down for the smallest things on exams but she is very clear in what she expects! Records lectures and uploads lecture notes so you don't have to watch, exams based off of examples in notes and reviews. Very understanding and caring during the pandemic, super sweet! It's hard work but she teaches very well.
She models assessments after questions in the homework/lessons so that's a good thing. Only reason I didn't rate her a 5 is because Calculus is difficult enough and I just wish she gave extra credit opportunities.
A professor who lacks communication and clarity.
This professor has to be my favorite math teacher by far. She holds optional conferences for any questions you have. Although a tough grader, she explains things in full detail, and the shell is so clear and well put together, week by week. Despise math, but I really enjoyed this class.
Professor Nabours was amazing for Precalc and I hope to take another of her math classes someday. She always explained the WHY and connected concepts to real life, which made it easier to absorb. The accelerated online summer course was a lot of work but she is straightforward and an effective lecturer so it wasn't overwhelming.
Professor Kathy is such an amazing professor who cares about all of her students! I took MAT-35, MAT-10, and MAT-1A with her and passed all of them with an A, regarding MAT-1A it was little bit challenging just because the material was somewhat heavy but professor Kathy did a great job explaining and simplifying every section of the material.
One of the best professors I had. Calculus is not an easy subject to understand, but she did so well in explaining lessons. She does give a lot of hw, however you can always go back do them for a higher grade. This class takes a lot of work, but the professor does her best to make sure you pass.
I love professor Nabours! She is such a sweet professor and I usually get intimidated asking professors for help, but she is really approachable and genuinely helps if you ask for it. One thing I will say is that she gives a lot of homework. If you do the homework the day it is assigned and don't get behind, you will pass.
Professor Nabours is one of the best math professors at RCC. Attendance is mandatory. She also is a challenging exam grader, and missed steps can lead to a deduction of points, so show all your work. Homework is all due at the end of the semester, so there are no late deductions if you miss an assignment. She is an extraordinary lecturer!
What a great professor! She loves answering questions and is very willing to help you succeed. You can tell she cares about her students. Homework was allowed to be turned in late for full credit. Do the assignments and you will pass. I highly recommend taking her class
She is so kind and understanding. She is always accessible via emails and myopenmath. She gives you unlimited attempts for hw and the whole sem to turn hw in. But still do work bc she gives out weekly quizzes and will drop you if you are too inactive (which is very fair). Hw maybe tricky but always come ask her bc they WILL be on the midterm+final
I love Nabours she is the best, I think everyone should take her for calc if you have the chance because she is so sweet and understanding her class is just great. She makes calculus really easy and her grading is fair, all of her lectures will prepare you for her exams and she is always open to help you. I would take her again if she taught 1B.
Gives very in-depth lectures and goes into detail as to why you are doing certain things not just how to do certain things. Her lecture videos are very easy to follow but are a little long. Homework is all due at the end of the semester so you can always go back to past assignments to pick up missed points.
Prof Nabours is wonderful! The nature of the class is that there is a lot of lecture and homework to cover. She has set up the class to benefit you and your grade above all. Homework is available all semester to complete. 3 tries for weekly quizzes (highest kept). Do NOT fall behind! There is too much material to catch up on if you do!
So much love for this professor! Had her for pre-calc and calc 1, she has great lectures and posts them on youtube if you need to watch it again. She puts so much effort into making sure her students learn. Very flexible. Homework available all semester. Exam reviews are the exact exams! Study them and you'll be fine. Wonderful professor!!!
A professor who checks off everything on the list. Caring, thoughtful, and patient. I took her in the fall, lectures are pretty good; lab wasn't required. Homework/quizzes were fine; the tests were given online and midterm/final was mandatory of course. I highly recommend her if you're someone who struggles with math like me :) She'll help you
In-person class and wish it was online. Goes over a new section every class session, so it's too fast paced for me who already struggles with math. She speaks very softly and just rewrites/reads off the notes that she has already posted. Online HW (3 assignments a week), and tests are in person (no calculator and no "cheat sheet").
Make sure to do the homework, otherwise she might drop u because of participation. But overall she is a great professor. I recommend her
She has the lectures online, so there's not really a need to go to class as long as you stay on top of the homework or have questions. There is a lot of homework, but she does let you have until the end of the semester to finish it. On tests she does mark you down for small things, but tells you what she expects.
Try not to slack on the homework since there is a lot weekly. The tests are similar to the chapter quiz reviews so make sure to do those. She is nice but definitely a strict grader as other reviews have said
I had Nabours for Trig and Calc 1. She is awesome. I really enjoyed her lectures. There is quite a bit of HW but you can turn in late for full credit. Her quizzes can be taken as many times with the highest score kept. This helps prepare you for her exams. She is approachable and enables you to understand concepts that can be hard to understand.
Hard to hear her during lecture, very fast paced and is aware of that but she still doesnt care. she seems somewhat caring but is incredibly oblivious. all of the lectures are online so it doesnt matter if you come but she does take attendance. Took mat-9 but it isnt a option on here
this professor dont let us use notes for exam
Professor Nabours is an extremely caring professor, and you can tell she has a passion for math! Her lectures are all pre-recorded, so if you miss a day or not feeling like attending class, it is online and the videos are always there to help. She had to miss class a few times, so she allowed us to take a quiz home which was aweseome! 10/10 prof.
Professor Nabours is one of the best professors! I have failed this class twice before taking her and this semester I took her and I finally passed the class! I really had a great understanding of calculus! You will have a lot of homework so try not to follow behind on that and do the reviews. They will help a lot on the exams!!
Professor Nabours is awesome, shes a great teacher, gives a lot of practice and really cares about her students, if you have any weak points in math she will help you fill them by giving you extra lectures and practice problems, the only thing I didn't like about her class was the homework, even though its a lot she gaves you a lot of time to compl
Pros: Online offered, very kind personality, dedicated to her work, virtual office hours, does not use Pearson for online. Good due dates. Cons: Online is proctored. A bit anal. She makes her own online system, even codes some herself. Frustrating to use at first, but good once you learn the system. She improves it every semester. I recommend.
don't understand all the good reviews her class was difficult with SO MUCH INFORMATION. there was no way for an average person to keep up. i do have to hand it to her she does give lots of background information and is very sweet BUT she assigns 3 hw assignments every week. a total of 60 questions a week and every assignment takes multiple hours.
you never saw the same thing twice the next lecture. it was always a completely new topic that you never saw again until your hw or test. so you can imagine the amount of information. most of class dropped after first exam and that should be enough of a warning. nice professor outside of class but doesn't translate into her teaching method.
I struggled with calculus, but the professor made it more accessible. She has videos of the lectures posted from the beginning. The lab isn't mandatory, but you do have to sign in. However, seeing her during lab and asking for help is good. Would have gotten a C if she hadn't dropped the lowest exam, the lowest grade in an assignment, and more.
Took Calc 1 over the summer and the class was amazing. I struggled a bit in Pre-Calc and I only do decent in math in general, but Professor Nabours made Calc 1 incredibly easy. Amazing professor.
Professor Nabours makes calculus more accessible. The lectures are helpful, and the homework and quizzes prepare you well for the exams. I found Unstuckstudy and the posted lecture videos to be great study tools. Worth taking if you're willing to put in the work.
I took Mat 9 but its not an option to choose on here, but a lot of the lectures wouldn't coordinate with the homework. Cant use calculators and lots of homework so be ready if anything. I noticed a lot in exams a lot of people didn't show up and I think this was due to them dropping out of the class. Exams sometimes didn't coordinate with lectures.
This professor is the most caring math teacher ! and she explains concepts well and is very personable. Study, study, study! the homework is your best guide and as well as the study reviews. She makes Calc easier to learn and grasp!
Prof. Nabours is hands down my favorite professor I've taken at RCC in my almost 2 years here. She explained the topics so clearly that it made me feel like Albert Einstein. She grades strictly on her exams but the problems are almost identical to the hw. I even use her trig lecture videos when I need to review some things for Calc II.
Took MAT11 With her during winter session, super easy but definitely pay attention to lectures. Very accommodating professor, she does have a lot of homework which can make it easy to fall behind if you are not on track & a discussion post each week. Honestly super chill class. Highly recommend
if the math wasn't her way oh well she will mark you off for that and fail you it doesn't matter if you have had all of the questions correct she'll mark you for the slightest detail it doesn't matter. a lot of homework ofc, the sample work was a different story she grades very heavily the rate of passing this class id say is very very slim.
Best Math class i've taken yet. Grades homework, with generous due date times. Grades take home practice exams and labs are guaranteed points as long as you show up. Exams are similar to her study guides. Response time via email was super quick as well!
Hard to blatantly fail her class. Provides chapter review quizzes before tests that can be taken as many times as needed. Homework can be done past due date with no point reduction and plenty of chances to re-try. After a poor exam, went to every student and went over what she could do better. Highly recommend if math has always been your struggle.
kind, but her teaching style isn't great. Her voice is soft and she mumbles a lot which made it hard to focus. She complicated concepts that I picked up more easily on my own. But then she also wants you to work it out in her exact way and docks points on exams if you don't. Not a difficult class, but I ended up mostly teaching myself.
I'm not really good at math but she's super helpful, kind, answers your questions, and understands when you're going through it. Tests were pretty easy, I believe 4 chapter tests and then the final. Hw is online on Canvas so no need to buy a textbook, infinite amount of tries and end of semester due date. Her grading was specific but not bad.
She's a good person and very kind, but her teaching style is terrible for higher level math. The material itself wasn't too bad, but she taught it and presented it in a way that wasn't at all helpful. The first exam didn't correlate all that well to the practice quiz or homework. 50% of the class dropped. Lectures are useless, just teach yourself.
