She's an excellent professor, who trully cares about her student, and I would definately recomend taking a class with her!!!

Had her for a summer course quite a few years ago. Liked it so much that I now practice psychiatry (no joke!). She is very passionate about psychology and it shows in her lectures. Tests are straightforward.

i enjoyed being in this class because she is such a wonderful woman! she teaches so well and always gives like real life examples for you to go by so you can understand things better. her tests are a bit hard, but if you study all the notes and read the textbook, its easy!

This teacher is best, both as a professional and a person. I wish all teachers were like her. She is very understanding and really listens to you. Other professors at Nassau should take a cue from her and learn to be more patient and understanding, not mean and heartless.

Funny and full of energy! Class is very interesting and she is very good at keeping her student's attention. Treats students a little too much like high school kids, but is one of the best professors I've ever had. I strongly recommend a clas with her. Oh, and if your cell phone rings during her class she'll kill you.

I don't agree with the statements of others, so i will clarify.I am an Honors student who has taken a broad spectrum of classes at this school, O'Loughlin is one of the kindest, most helpful, energetic, enthuseastic and charasmatic teachers i've ever had. She is the only teahcer i know to captivate a class of 30+ for the entire duration of 115mins

I took honors class with this professor and found her to be captivating. She teaches with her mind and her heart. She was meant to teach, I am so glad she found her calling.I found this class to be a great experience. Thank you Dr O'Loughlin.

As for the person who left the comment about her being weird...maybe u shouldn't be in a psych class and get out to the real world!! theres nothing weird about telling a story which RELATES to the topic in class. Hpe she will continue to teach the way she did this semester!

she troubles me not because she's a bad teacher or anything ok well warning she can be a big weird at times but i think everyone can be as well but the thing is she tells these stories about her sons death and it just makes me sad but that the same time want to know more yet no one wants to rudely ask,study like crazyyy for tests and take good note

I hope she reads the comments on this page, because she should know how she is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Hers is the only class I wish was long than an hour and the only class I look foward to each week. She can grab her students attention like it's going out of style. I love her!

Dr. O'Loughlin was an absolutely wonderful woman. I've never been able to pay so much attention to a class in my entire school career. Listening to her personal stories helped to make it even more real to me & made things easier to remember. I hope she reads this again to see how many ppl love her! She's incredible.. I took her class this semester. She's a very good teacher in Nassau~the final text is open notebook~it was really helpful. Im so new here, and she definitely made me want to take her class again.

Beautiful Lady, inside and outside. She loves her students, and she tries to find the best way to makes the stuff clear. Best way to converse your STM to LTM is to choose her class. You will learn a lot. Amazing professor. Knowledgeable and well-informed. One of the professors that you will not forget forever.

REALLY interesting class- Very engaging. She uses a lot of life stories, which can be intense, but they definitely help you understand the lessons. Just make sure you give her what she wants, because there's no extra credit- Pay attention in class, and study like crazy for the tests.

Dr. O'Loughlin is hands down, the best professor I have ever had as a student. There is a ton of course material to be covered, but with your interest and enthusiasm, Dr. O' will never let you continue the course without her being there to help you. I LOVED Dr. O'Loughlin's class...I had no idea I would enjoy itas much as I did. She makes class really interesting by adding a lot of personal stories that make you want to pay attention. Her tests can be a little difficult but if you take notes and follow her test study guides you will have no problem. Definitely my favorite prof at NCC so far

Dr. O'Loughlin was undoubtedly my favorite professor at Nassau. Her no cell phone policy was a little intimidating at first because I am a habitual texter, but I got so used to not even having mine on and I can 100% truthfully say that I believe this policy, and her interesting way of lecturing, made me learn more than I have in any other course!

Good professor. Her class can get boring but overall it was good. Her tests were a bit difficult but you can definately make up for it by participating. The final project was very easy and she was so lenient with the due date i dont know why more people didnt do it.

She gives you all of the answers before the exams. There is no way to do poorly in this class if you read the textbook and review the notes.

She's nice and lenient but I found her to be close minded and unwilling to discuss views different from hers.

i only have one thing that sticks in my mind with this prof. This is what she said "Taylor Swift is a genius. She's manipulating the media and has found a way to do it. My husbands in the music industry he knows her". I think she retarded me when she said that!! But yeah nice and easy professor. Class is like kindergarten.

Okay, so no. She came off as nice in the beginning, but truth is she could be very sarcastic. No bashing intended. But she could be kinda rude, and she definitely HATES cell phones. It could be understandable, but she does kinda get really over the top about it. I do respect her and her views though, she is nice, but i dont know if its fake or not?

Interesting classes. She is very enthusistic about psyh and opened my eyes up to new ideas.

One of the best professors I ever had. Fun and understnaidng She made us do a five page paper that was OK and the review sheets helped if you do them.

The lectures are very important along with the videos from the text book. She's cool just study for the exams and you will be good.

Don't use your cell phone, take good notes and don't be absent. She's a good teacher who keeps your attention and gives tests that aren't that easy but I have to admit they are fair bc she tells you whats on the test on a review sheet. Still alot of work and not that easy but you learn alot.

Great class aNd professor. I liked how she teaches, interesting and kept my attention. Be sure to do the paper and take good notes. She explained everything So that the tests were pretty fair but I did not think they were so easy.

She is a good prof overall but can be a bit rude at times, esp if you don't listen to her. She has a strict no phone policy and will ask you to leave if you use it. She gives answers before the test and the final is open book. Honestly, I didn't like the class even though it was easy.

Dr. O'Loughlin is a wonderful teacher! She is passionate about what she does and about the material she teachers. She gives review sheets before tests which are helpful if you study the specific material. She is VERY strict about cell phones though. I'd love to take another class with her, unfortunately 203 is all she is teaching right now.

She is a good professor. I like that she gives note guides and I don't have to really write anything down unless I wanted to. She's very strict on attendance and cell phones! Seriously NO CELL PHONES! If you study your note guides, you'll pass a test.

OK. She is not that easy but I loved her class. She really listens and helped me with the notes and explained everything to me when I went for help. She makes the class interesting and the time went so fast that I didn't mind the double session. I wish I could take another class with her... Excellent teacher.

The most sincere woman I've ever met, seriously. Relates the class to many personal stories. "easiness" scale shouldn't be an option for her. She gives plenty of opportunities for you to boost your grade so if you don't do it, you can only blame yourself. Clear notes from a topic guide, pay attention and you'll do well. Really enjoyed her class.

Best Professor I've ever had. She's incredibly smart and I wish the class never ended. The tests are difficult and require a lot of studying and memorization. Even if you study like crazy there will still be 3 to 5 questions that aren't clear and even though you know the subject it can still fluster you. I would definitely recommend this class.

She is probably the best teacher/professor I've ever had. She is extremely intelligent and is genuinely concerned about her students. Listen to her lectures and take a lot of notes. Her tests are not easy but she is very specific on what to study and gives ample time to do so. You will get the grade you work for in her class. She is great.

Super sweet and very interesting lectures! The material is pretty direct and she does a great job in explaining everything. As long as you listen and look at her handouts, you should be able to pass. She talks about her personal life and struggles that she's been through and jfc, this woman is amazing. She really is an inspiration!

One of the best psychologists I have met in my time (and Ive been to several therapists to find the right one). As a professor, she is incredible. She loves participation and always listens intently to the classs questions. One of the kindest and funniest professors on campus. Take her class!
