A good marker, some distubing yet excellent material on her course.

At first I couldn't stand the class, but then I grew to love it.She loves literature and shares that.Attend lectures if you hope to pass.She sets you up to succeed, and its up to you to do it.Hard marker, but once you get it right, you're golden.

If you want to learn english how it's meant to be taught, take it from her! She's the most knowledge women I've ever met. She marks hard though, so get your essay formatting straight! She's not easy, but hey, if you want to do it right, take her class

does a good job of ENG 108 - nursing english. keeps content focussed on nursing and brings up interesting issues. makes sure you know exactly what she wants but is an extermly careful marker... picks up even the smallest pronoun error

Good Teacher, yet pretty hard - you really have to do a lot of work for her, although she does give you the mark you deserve

touch marker, but an awesome woman. you can tell she actually cares about what shes teaching, and is enjoying doing so. she wants her student to succeed, even though she is VERY specific in what she wants, and doesn't like to accept otherwise. she'd kill me if she saw all my puntuation and grammar errors.

A very tough marker, you have to work really hard to get a B. She is a great teacher though, has an unreal passion for what she teaches. She is also very likeable and approachable if you have any questions.

In a few words, her class honestly changed my life. She inspired me to think critically about my work, and gave me a new outlook on life. After you get over the initial shock she gives to your ego, you can succeed if you listen to her suggestions for improvement. I only wish she taught past the first year, I would major in english if she did.

Super hard marker. For the first two essays I had the highest marks and they were 75 and 77. However, once yyou realise that she's all about grammar, you're good to go. And she actuall teaches you grammar. I'm 100% of every comma and semi colon in my essays now.

Kathy was an amazing professor! She inspired my already exixting passiion for English to grow even deeper. Her concentration of grammar, moreover, made me even more dilegent to ensure my English was correct. I loved her class!

Going to class is mandatory as her tests are based on in class discussions. She is a thorough marker so make sure to edit for grammar!!! Overall great prof, she made something I hated interesting.

She's pretty intense and I didn't think I would last the semester. She can be brutal when it comes to punctuality, really set a tone early in the semester not TO BE LATE. Overall, I learned a lot but AM SO GLAD the term is over. Word to the wise, to do well in this class you must attend all lectures otherwize your screwed for her exams.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! She was really helpful, and challenged us to think! We did a lot of group-work, which helped me to understand what was important. For an introductory english class, I was delighted to have someone who actually cared about how well the student did. I loved how she used NO POWERPOINT! Fabulous!

VERY difficult marker. Expects a lot for a first year class. However, if you're genuinely interested in pursuing English than she's great. Answer questions, do your homework & interact in class; she will love you & you'll learn a lot. If you're just taking this class to scrape by & fill the english requirements, find another prof.

She was nice, helpful, fair. Wasn't so tough on APA styles. Emphasizes grammar lots. Hard to approach, strict on due dates! Good to learn from, not easy to get good grades from though

Although she is a hard marker I really enjoyed her class. She always listened and made everyone's input seem valuable. If your in her class make sure you attend and really study for her final, its difficult!

She is a fairly hard marker. Stick to the outline that she gives for the essay's and study for the grammar quizzes(they are hard).

Very professional and has helped me with every essay and assignment to this date. I was very lucky to have her, she definately knows her stuff and is open to helping all.

her classes are mandatory, not that they are incredibly helpful but it is an "assignment driven" course so you need to be there to know what it is you are writing on. this teaching style was not very good for me b/c i didnt really know what i was writing on till a week before it was due so it was always rushed and i was always docked for grammor.

Treacherous course. Kathy has education that is too advanced for a first year course. Challenging marker, but she makes sure you hand in your best work. A good grade in her class is B- and higher - my GPA went down! You must visit her office hours to improve, that's the only way. Take my advice for her final: have study sessions, it will pay off!

She helped raise my academic standards with her no-nonsense expectations and compelled me to grow up and work like an adult. She kindly made it clear that I was no longer in high-school. AND she is VERY attractive which for me was a bit of a distraction and possibly why my marks were not more better. NOT her fault!

Let me break this down for everyone. I'm a fourth year accounting student that took this class online. I have a hatred for english, but finished with a great mark. I used spark notes for everything, and wrote my essays only a day before the due dates. Ignore the other reviews as it became clear to me that they're from first year students.

These reviews made me very scared when i entered this class. I took it online during spring semester. I put in basic effort and thought she was very easy. Received marks around 75% on everything I submitted. I was surprise i did so well in her class. Much easier then english 102 for me. Her emails do come off rude though!

Very nice prof. Easy marker if you put the work in your writing. Final was kind of difficult otherwise easy class.

Kathy is a great prof! after reading the comments about her I was worried, but she was amazing! She was very helpful and polite and gave great feedback. I would definitely take a clas from her again

Kathy was great, I was never a great student in english in High school. But in Kathy's class I was able to get good grades, I even got an 85%+ grade on my research essay. I would highly recommnend taking her if you have the chance for ENGL 111.

Kathy gave me a lot of anxiety at first, but she just wants to be respected and attendance. She is always open to help you even though she doesn't come out right and say it. She is a good teacher, she doesn't just give everyone the same mark. She made me try very hard and it really benefited me in my future english classes!

Kathy helped me more than any other instructor during my first year of university. I attribute a lot of my success in my other classes to her because she provided a lot of quality feedback about my writing during English 102 and 103. Use her office hours or email her. The skills you gain from trying in these classes will pay dividends in life.

After reading the rate my prof reviews of this prof I was very worried and Ms. Woodward was very intimidating at first, but she was the most helpful teacher I have had my first semester. Her class requires hard work, so if youre looking for an easy A with no effort, I dont recommend this class.

I think she's been given a bad rap. Although I scored really badly on my first two essays worth 50% (67,56) she allowed me to resubmit both and I ended up having an 85 average after that due to good feedback. I wasn't used to having an Egnlish class that wasn't an easy A, but it made me enjoy my success more when I got a good grade.

Lot of harsh reviews on here but I had a good experience. Write good essays, get feed back from her, participate in class ( take the 4-5pm class usually has smaller size (mine was less than 15 people)).
