The class is very interesting and very very easy. 10% is attendance and she allows a whole bunch of extra credit. One time she let us do a our quiz with groups. I strongly recommend her!

Very good professor who clearly loves teaching. She doesn't use a textbook but you'll do plenty of reading outside class. She explains everything and gives you a lot of room for your opinion. She uses ANGEL a lot and keeps grades updated so you're never out of the loop. I would take another class from her.

Awesome professor!She loves to use the word "right" but she is a very good teacher. She makes it clear what she expects an ives plenty of extra credit and throws out 2 lowest quiz scores. She is easy to talk to and open to opinions. I would love to take another class of hers. She is fair and very nice!

Katie is an awesome professor. Class participation helps you to see the larger picture that she is trying to convey to you. She is helpful outside of the classroom, and gives you clear instruction for what she is looking for in her assignments. Take her class, it is worth it!

I adore Katie! She's so personable and friendly. Easily one of my favorite teachers at the Falls. She's very tolerant of others' opinions, but will not allow any form of hate speech in her classroom, which I commend. So fun! Highly recommended!

Katie is a great teacher. Ultimately, it is up to you if you do well. Do the reading, attend lectures, and study for the tests and you will be fine. You're allowed a note card on the quizzes and she offers plenty of extra credit. Highly recommended!

Katie is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, understanding, and easy to learn from. She covers a lot of content and attendance is a must in order to do well on the tests. She gives great reviews before each test. I learned a lot in this class and really enjoyed it!

I would recommend taking this class, it helps broaden your view on gender and sex issues in our society today. I found the class very informational and I enjoyed taking it.

Soc of Gender: Katie overall is a great professor. She is a bit harsh while grading, however if you put in time and effort you will get a good grade. Heads up in order to get a 4.0, you must get a 99-100% (little extra credit offered) The homework/ reading is very overwhelming, but not hard. Show up, and do your work and don't forget to read :)

Katie is FANTASTIC! She switches up her lecture style, incorporates films and will drop your lowest score on a quiz and assignment. She is straightforward and loves keeping students intrigued, she will answer your questions and listens to everybody. I am taking SOC230 with her now and still love her! I am minoring in Sociology because of her now.

Katie is an extremely intelligent, passionate individual whom is personally invested in the success of her students. She is clear with her expectations from day one. Reading assignments are lengthy so I recommend not procrastinating. She makes herself available to students any way she can. You will not be disappointed.

There is a ton of reading for this class, so be ready for it. The expectations for this class were clear and assignments were graded quickly. I was doing the class online so I didn't really have that much interaction with Kate. If you read the text and do the work you can get a good grade, just don't expect to get and easy A.

Lots of reading, read four books throughout the quarter. Participation and attendance is important. Some of the topics she goes over can be pretty depressing but I still enjoyed the class.

Took this online. We had 2 books to read from, and they were interesting. 3 tests and they were pretty easy if you read and take notes on the books. This would probably more interesting and fun in the class, but it is a cool topic, and not a hard class to pass if you read at all.

Katie is probably one of the best professors I've ever had. She is a very good professor; she's clear on what she wants and explains/lectures very well. Katie is also very nice, bubbly, and funny. The class isn't hard at all as long as you pay attention and take notes.

There is no actual textbook for this class, so instead she incorporates all of that information into her lectures. Though there was four novels that we had to read that covered topics from class. A really great professor.

Dr. Clemons is great. I loved her lectures you can tell she loves her field. She was helpful and clear about what she wanted. Just be prepared to read four books for her Soc&201 class. But if you do the reading and show up you'll pass.

SOC 101 online is super fun. The reader each week was the amount that could be expected from an online class, but wasn't a terrible amount. Journal responses and 15Q quizzes were due weekly, but were simple if you do the reading. Grading was fare and the text was applicable to real world situations.

FANTASTIC! If you are considering taking her online class do it!!! She is organized with loads of helpful information and powerpoint presentations which are key. It's an involved class with a lot of reading and notes are key. If you understand Canvas this class will be great! I only had to email her once! She is clear and doesn't waste your time.

Shes a great teacher and her class wasn't too difficult but there will be a moderate amount of work. Just show up, do the work and you should pass no prob.

I missed a lot of the class, but really enjoyed it. Says things that I'm not sure she should say... but she's not usually wrong. Very open about her own opinions. Two texts books and a lot of online quizzes.

I'm taking Katie's online sociology 101 we do a discussion and answer the questions with evidence from our reading every Thursday and respond to class mates and then Friday we have a quiz and the class only has 3 tests for the whole quarter. If you actually participate you will definitely pass

I'm in her Sociology&201 class and it is my favorite class. I hate reading so I wasn't too sure about it, but all the books are suer interesting and they actually tie into what we are talking about and overall Katie is a great teacher and I would definitely take this class again with her.

Katie is great. She makes the lectures fun and interesting. You stay the entire time for the class every day. There is one project at the end of the quarter where you choose a book from a designated list and present with a visual aide. You read a lot but they are all amazing, inspiring books or movies!

Sociology 101 was super fun! If you need the credit I would definitely recommend taking her class. You do have to read about five or more chapters each week, but if you give yourself time you should be fine. Work ahead on the Literature Review if possible. Overall, great class!

MY FAV PROF. AT SFCC!!! Dr. Clemons is super passionate about what she teaches which is refreshing. I never had a boring moment in that class. Some xtra credit. Understanding of explained absences. A LOT of reading but very interesting. NO HOMEWORK , only reading. 2 article reviews. Fair grader. Easy final PP & essay. Final exam not mandatory :) <3

This professor gives really great feedback and is very clear on what she expects from you. There are a few exams throughout the quarter but the homework and weekly quizzes are fairly easy if you study. Discussion posts are worth 15 points and you only have to choose 3 to do. Fairly easy class with multiple chances for extra credit.

Katie is a great professor for Sociology and I love how much she cares about the subject and her students. Only reason she's not a perfect 5 is that there was a few instances where things were on discussion posts that had correct answers, even though the questions were worded in an open-ended way. Just make sure you understand the readings.

Learning from Dr. Clemons was nothing but refreshing. She shows passion for the work she does, and throws in humor to make the lectures enjoyable. I would highly recommened taking Soc 230 from her! She assigns a handful of readings throughout the week, but each one is full of knowledge that'll only help you understand the course even better!

Amazing teacher! Had her my first quarter at the falls. Theres a handful of reading & notes are important in her classes. She also does group projects, but shes an extremely fair grader. Her lectures are great and shell answer any questions if youre confused. Super fun teacher overall:)

Katie Clemons was a great instructor! Did not go to fast through the material and really drilled the vocabulary into our heads (in a good way). She went over things multiple times and gave us several examples and tiny little quizzes during lectures that were fun!

Great teacher. Lots of homework, weekly discussion posts with 3 prompts which requires approx. 1 hour of reading total and another 2 to respond to all prompts. Only 2 tests, but weekly quizzes. Great feedback. If you push yourself to do all of the work and study, you WILL get an A in this class. Do the work, get a good grade. Easy going, very nice.

Katie is a great professor, in all of her lectures, she was very clear and ensures you understand. There are about 1-2 quizzes every week based off of the 2-4 readings and lectures from that week. There are also 2 exams and a group project. Katie always provides great feedback and is very quick to respond to messages. Enjoyed her class very much.

Katie is awesome. She often grades assignments the same day I submit them and replies to emails fast. I learned a lot of interesting things in this class. There is a lot to read sometimes, but you can get away with only skimming the material. Exams include essays, but they're easy questions to build on. Have gotten 100% on everything so far.

Professor Clemons has been one of my favorite professors so far. She was very clear in her expectations of the class, of assigned homework, and exams. She was easy to get in contact with as well, she typically responded to my emails within the same day besides weekends. Open note quizzes every week, two closed book exams, and one essay.

Responds quickly. Expects students to do the work but rewards hard work with a good grade.

I love Katie! I did take her class only for credit, but she's a great professor and really understanding. She posts all of her lectures, so if you miss a day there's no reason you can't catch right up. You have 2 quizzes a week, but they are all pretty easy. Would recommend her!

Professor Clemons is a good teacher. She gives good feedback and the lectures are interesting but my GOD are the reading articles long and boring. If you are unable to concentrate in reading, don't take this class. The discussions are all based on your response to the articles. You can't respond if you don't read the articles.

Katie Clemons is very understanding. I had some issues with internet problems and she was willing to help me when needed. The class is one that requires a bit of reading but most of the readings are engaging. I loved this class and plan to take another class with her.

You can tell professor Clemons is passionate about what she teaches. I enjoyed having her as a teacher and learned a lot from her class. There is not final exam but there is a final paper.

She always had zoom open even though it was an in-person class (in case you couldn't make it but wanted to be there) and she would also record the class. She didn't do exams just quizzes in canvas. She was very nice and very helpful with the few papers we had to write.

Katie was fabulous! Weekly discussions based on one or two readings and a couple chapters. The individual project is really simple, just ensure that you plan your reading over the quarter. Clear feedback on the final paper, discussion posts are pretty simple, ensure you use quotes from the book. Great professor!!

She is very kind and promptly responds to emails. After submitting assignments if you missed something she will respond with what you missed before the deadline so you are able to fix it and get full credit. You have a quiz once a week along with a few pages of reading and a discussion board.

She was very helpful. If you have any questions, she answers them right away. She will proofread any sources you may have questions about and give good feedback. Every module has a few reads that range from 5-20 pages. You will also have an online lecture followed by a discussion and a small test. However, you're given 1-2 weeks to do all of it.

Dr. Clemons was a great teacher. The work workload was great, 1 assignment a week, and a few papers. Communication is great, and it is easy to get a good grade as long as you do the work. Highly recommend the class

I really enjoyed taking this class. There was a decent amount of reading and the discussion board posts took a decent amount of time. There was only one of these a week, so they were very manageable. She was a very fair grader and let me fix mistakes that I made to get full credit.

She communicates and organizes her material well for an online class! I learned alot and enjoyed my time in her class!

Very clear on what you're being asked to do. The work load is very reasonable, just make sure you know how to proper read/skim academic sources for key information and you'll find most of the work very manageable. Her grading scale to get a 4.0 is pretty narrow, but she's a very generous grader.

I would take her class over and over! She is a wonderful professor that cares a lot about the material she teaches and always makes sure her students understand. Love!

Absolutely wonderful professor, Dr. Clemons is so knowledgeable and gives amazing lectures! She's also very clear about grading, assignments, and due dates. The material was super interesting, and the workload was totally manageable. Her class was extremely accessible, with many options for attendance and lots of flexibility. Would recommend!!!

This was a very interesting class! Although it was a fair amount of work (it is Writing Intensive) it was definitely manageable. Each week was reading a chapter of the assigned book then posting a response to prompts she gave, then reply to your classmates. There is also a big project where you interview a social worker and write a report.

Mrs Clemons was great. It was a completely online class and was very clearly laid out every week with clear expectations of what was to be completed. There were discussions due each week based on the readings and videos assigned as well as an easy quiz and a final paper. Easiest college class I have taken.

She only had one discussion post due for the whole week but you had to read a lot and watch really long lectures that were really time consuming to do that discussion post. You also have to read a book and write a 6-7 page report on it towards the end. Class was pretty easy just really time consuming and lots of reading

Class was overall pretty easy, the content is usually a discussion with 3 prompts and then we had a final essay that we get the chance to improve. In the moment it seemed like a lot of content, but thats because I took it with other classes. The teacher is nice, if you try she'll probably give you grace and good feedback.

I would definitely recommend Professor Clemons! She is an easy grader and if she did mark down, she always gave a chance to revise. There is plenty of extra credit in the course.

Great teacher! Workload isn't heavy by any means and is generally pretty lenient with grading. She's knowledgeable on the subject and caring. Does not normally accept late work.

She's very sweet and wants you to succeed. One discussion post a week, with one final paper on a chosen social problem book. Her textbook was easy to follow, and towards the end you had to watch a few movies to complete assignments. Take her!

I was thinking back to my time at SFCC, and Professor Clemons was truly one of the best I had. She is knowledgeable and kind. I really enjoyed the chance to learn from her.
