A wonderful teacher. I started out not doing well in class and she gave help with my questions and clarified everything. Do the homework, study guides she gives before the test and you will do well. She made the class enjoyable, great personality for a math teacher.

+I took her during her first semester teaching at sierra. she is pretty easy to follow and she allows you to use a cheat sheet on her test. Even if she is boring at times her looks make up for the lost time. If you need a math class, i recommend her.

She explains examples very well, will explain homework problems at the beginning of class if you ask, and allows a cheat sheet for tests. She doesn't make her class easy, though- she gave more homework than my last 2 math classes combined.

Katie does great lectures! She explains things clearly, and enough so that it's very difficult not to understand things unless you are not paying attntion at all. Just watch out for the homework. I would never reccomend taking a class with her with a full course load, because you simply wont have time for all the outside work.

Katie Lucero is an awesome teacher. Since she started last year, I had her in the Spring. The math in the class was frustrating to learn on your own but she is VERY VERY HELPFUL in trying to make you learn. She gives you partial credit to see where you messed up on tests. I can't believe she is only 25!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MRS. LUCERO TO ANYONE :)

Very helpful teacher, the only way to learn is to do the homework. Teacher is very organized on notes so when you read your notes, you don't get lost in it. I highly recommend taking her class, if she teaches another math class you need for requirement, TAKE IT!!! You won't be disappointed! :)

Probably the best calc class to take if you have to. She is always willing to help you if you ask. However, the class is really tough, requires a lot of time. She allows cheat sheets which is awesome, which helps a lot on the exams. Math 30 is hard, but she is a really cool person to take it with.

She is the best math teacher on campus. Very clear and organized. You are prepared for tests so they are easy. If you go to class do hw and understand material easy A. She also gives you a positive attitude in class because she has such a pleasant personality.

Katie is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She is fun and outgoing. She is there whenever you need her help. She also provides take home exams before the tests, which closely relate to the in class exams. Do your homework, take home exams, attend class & you'll pass. Lucero's calculus class was great. Her methods are exceptional and she teaches with clarity. Her tests were pretty easy and there were probably around ten students who had an A at the end of the semester. She comes highly recommended, I wish I could take math 31 from her next semester!

amazing teacher, gives perfect examples and teachers effectively. there was not one day that gone by without me knowing the material. teach so easy that its ingrained in me. she passes study guides so you know what to expect on the tests. out of 35 students in class, about 18 of them were A's. seriously, take k.lucero you won't regret at all

Really good teacher. Helps students learn even the slugs and actually grades homework. Returns tests the next class so you do not have to wait like a week to get it back. I love second semester of calculus, I wish I would've chose Lucero instead of Balaguy though... This teacher is totally worth it, out of 35 students about 21 of them have A's!

She is an incredibly great teacher. Any question you ever need to ask she will answer. She is very helpfull, very easy, and she helps you learn if your willin. There are no surprises on the test and there is always extra-credit...oh and She's really Hottt...

She prepares students well for tests and the final exam. Gives clear examples and explains work, solutions clearly. She gives extra credit too, if you do the hw you will find the tests very similar. Some take home exams, group work, quizzes. She got my attention the whole time, it does help to learn when this teacher is a hottie.

Extremely proficient instructor. You would be doing yourself a dis-service if you did not take one of her math classes. She really knows her stuff and when shes done with you so will you. Even as high paced as summer courses are I still feel that through her teaching I am well equipped for statistics. Shes and A+++++ teacher.

An awesome teacher!!! She is very helpful if you stop by her office. Her tests are not too bad if you understand the material and she gives lots of extra credit. I got over 100 percent on every test. Also, if you go in to see her for help, and you don't do all of your homework, she didn't mark me off, I still got the full credit.

Take her class, she is hot! Very easy to learn and class goes by quick just by seeing her!

This teacher will base 50% of her test on stuff that she just went over the day before. Gives little time in preparing you on new material and her tests are very very hard! Her practice tests are nothing like the new tests, and reserves her "hard/tricky" questions for the tests.

Really conveys the difficulties of calculus so it makes sense! Study, do the homework, and take good notes!! Don't expect much review from the book cause it's a piece of crap, but thankfully Katie will show you everything and how to do it. Highly recommend!! And yes, she is ridiculously good looking =)

Katie is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Her notes are legendary and help a lot for the tests. She always has a smile on her face and is very helpful if you visit her during office hours. There should be no reason to not get an A or a B in this class. I would take any class that she teaches.

Wonderful and very organized teacher ! Just do your homeworks and take notes. Very polite! Can help you get answers if you wish. Textbook is junk but only one available for all Math 42 classes, so don't miss classes even it is not mandatory. At least B is garanteed for those who follow. Best Math teacher I ever had!!!

So far I like her. She makes lectures really clear and points out the traps of math. Be prepared to do lots of hw 20% at least she collects it. Exams 60% are on lectures and there is take-home exam portions. Get into study groups to succeed. Doesnt grade hard on tests quizzes and hw. Better show up take good notes in class, the text book is crap..

She gives a lot of homework but it is really helpful so you can actually learn in this class. This is Calculus so falling behind is not good. She prepares you for the in class exams and there is a take home exam portion. She is very helpful so take advantage of her office hours. I recommend her class, she does not want students to fail her class.

Katie is great, and she really helped me when I needed it. She is incredibly smart and very approachable. The class was hard, but by no means impossible. If you have to take this class, taker her! Plus she's really cute!

You should take any math class she teaches but since this was business calculus it is a requirement. She teaches clearly but you have to work hard to earn your grade, tests are hard but as long you do your homework you are half way there. She is really hot and sweet personality so she kept my undivided attention

I took Katie for both Math D and Math 42. She is an awesome Math teacher. Attendance is a must, but what do you expect, its a calculus class. Lots of note taking but it helps understand the material. The book is horrible but she somehow makes it work. If you have to take this class take it with her.

She teaches with clarity putting math into simple terms. I am awful at math but she made it interesting. She gives study guides and reviews a full day before exams. Homework is a must, practice makesperfect but a lot of math problems so you must make time for this class.

I took this class online this summer (8 weeks). It was fast paced, but very easy. The program has everything you need (video lectures, web book & online help solving probs). There are @ 55 HW assignments, 9 quizzes (take each twice, she keeps the best score), 3 tests (easy when you do the pre-test), and 1 final (take at school, not Multiple choice)

Lucero is the BEST. She is very helpful and will keep working with you until you understand the solution. This class was my first B (Im a straight A student) but it would have been a D without her! One suggestion: Don't take the course in the summer... it is way too much information to absorb in 8 weeks! Take her class, youll be glad you did!

My favorite math professor! I had her for math 30 and she was always very helpful. She has really nice handwriting so notes were easy to take. I wish she taught math 31 this semester.. Definately take Lucero if you get the chance!!

Awesome teacher and person overall. Shes fair and has a jovial personality. Go to her office hours if you need help. Quizes are based on homework and exams are straightforward no surprises. Dont take all the notes just read the book beforehand and observe. Trust me its better that way :) I must say she is pretty much smoking hot for a math teacher.

I took her online Intermediate math class during the summer. It was extremely face paced and she gave more homework than I had during my full semester Math class. She gives a final study guide which is 235 questions long and only 35 of those questions are on the test. I would not take her class again.

Katie is a good teacher but she talks about 600 pmh. It is really hard to keep up with her however she has no problem going back over something again if you ask, you hope to be able to catch it the seconed time. I think she drinks around 15 cups of coffee a day. Lol

This is a hard class with hard content, intimidating stuff. BUT, Katie is a fantastic teacher. She always has a great attitude, ready to help, ready to explain. We have daily worksheets and daily notes (her lectures are very helpful but she whips through them). There is either a quiz or test every week. I highly recommend her!

If you want a good grade from Katie, you will have to do work. Her tests and grading are very fair. With this teacher, you will get out exactly what you put in. And she's really pretty.

I took Katie for Math A & D. She is tough, and fast but a good teacher, she goes over things many different ways so if you miss a class you will have a tough time understanding the context, but attend the class and do the homework you will do well, she grade's fairly.

Katie is a FANTASTIC teacher. I'm terrible at math -- absolutely horrible at it -- but I was able to come out of her both her Math A and Math D courses with almost a perfect A. She can go a little fast when she lectures but she's always happy to slow down or review material until everyone understands what's going on. Favorite math teacher.

She is a very hard teacher if you do not try in the class. However, if you take her notes (her lectures are so descriptive, take detailed notes) you complete the homework. The tests are hard, however, I studied and got good grades. She is very open and she make sure people feel comfortable in her class.

Katie is very friendly and approachable; however, her class moves at a lightning fast pace. The homework is extremely extensive (about 40 problems per section and about 5 sections per chapter), she hands out worksheets due each week. Doesn't do test reviews which sucks, and covers new material the day before a test. Overall, she was fair.

Good teacher. She loves her job, and she does it well. She moves through the book quickly (which is online) and assigns about 150 problems per chapter. Because its online, it gets very tedious. However, if you do the work (which i didn't really) you'll do really well in her class! Be sure to take good notes as well. They may save you at the final.

The best math teacher I've ever had! She assigns hw on MyMathLab and also hands out a worksheet for each unit, and all the material matches the test. If you do the work, you should have plenty of practice to pass the test. Goes at a very reasonable pace but always has time for questions. If you have take calculus, there's no better choice!

Took the class while pregnant, she was more than helpful when I needed extensions because of hospital visits. Easy online program; can work ahead, tests are set dates. Midterm and Final are proctored exams. Great teacher!

I cant say much if she is a good teacher since I took an online class and there was no interaction at all. Its a MathLab based class. Basically you work on your own, there are plenty of help material etc. I saw Katie two times at the mid-term and final exams and she is a nice and friendly person. I would definitely take another class with her!

First half was a refresher for me, second wasn't. Homework has soft deadlines tests has hard deadlines. Lucero is very organized, helpful, emails right back during the week. Quizzes you can take twice, homework you can go back and correct what you got wrong. Do the work and study for test and you will pass. I always struggled in math but did great

A lot of hw almost too much to take another other difficult class along with calculus. Work sheets along with each section. I don't think anyone can teach math better than her. She understands it so well she can explain it in a simple way at a good pace. Fair grader and so positive, she appears to enjoy her job. don't take if you procrastinate. Hw!

Katie is the best math professor ever! I was never good at math & was skeptical taking this class because it was 6 units and a three hour long class, but it really wasn't that bad. She gives a 30 min. break after an hour and she loves putting the class in groups for activities. Overall, it was a really enjoyable class and ending up getting an A!

Let me start by saying that I have never passed a math class in my life. I came back from a 7 year hiatus from high school geometry. I took her Math E (algebra 1 and 2 combined) and genuinely UNDERSTOOD the concepts that she explained. She prepares you for her exams well and her lectures are easy to follow. Do the HW and you'll pass. She's awesome.

I always failed math. Then I took Katie's Math E and got 102% in the class. Her lectures are awesome. She really gets into showing how do to the formulas and gives multiple examples and strategies. There an many hands-on projects to see the physical aspect of the math on paper. It's 6 units so lots of homework, but it will build to the tests.

It is a math class, so lots of homework is expected. She is accessible through email, and emails the class often reminding them of deadlines. I would take her again if it was possible!

I hate math before I took Katies class. She wants you to understand the material and will take the time to make sure you do. There is always a pass peer tutor in the class along with Katie as well to help student when they have questions. One thing I really liked was that the class was activity and group based. Lucero is very friendly and nice. Math D, though, is a bit hard. You will have to do lots of studying, as the Midterm and the Final Exam has a lot of weight on your grade. The quizzes were a little hard in general. You do have the option to take the quizzes twice and get the best grade you can. No extra credit opportunities.

If you I hate math and think you're awful at it, take Katie's Math E class (or any class by Katie). You can ask her a thousand questions if you're not understanding; her patience is incredible. Never in a million years did I see myself liking/being good at math, let alone earning an A. Do your homework and ask questions as needed, you'll pass.

Calc 2 is an extremely difficult course, but I am so glad that I took it with Katie. Her study guides are EXTREMELY helpful and in many ways mirror her exams. Worksheets & quizzes are also used as grade buffers. I regularly spent 2+ hours each day studying/doing homework. You gotta do what you gotta do. Among the best in the math department here.

Katie is the best math professor I have ever had. Being bad at math in highschool, I started in Math A. Katie expects a lot from you, but she is organized, thorough, and clear with her expectations. Expect 1-2 worksheets a week. Book HW is optional but recommended. Thorough study guides for each test are a lifesaver. Go to class, do HW, pass.

She is very helpful, if you are confused, she is there to help. If you are a hands on learner or have ADHD this is the perfect math class. every assignment has an activity to go with it and partner work (aka an excuse to talk). She is knowledgeable about the subject, and is ALWAYS offering extra credit! I will take her classes again.

She is a GREAT teacher. She actually helped write the two work books you'll use in MATH000E. You'll need both work books but they aren't expensive. Every day you do activities, example probs and working with your 4 person group. Everything she does is to get you to understand the material before you go do the homework. She awesome!!

Even though this was an online class, I could clearly tell that the professor cared about her students. She really worked with the students to make sure they were getting the grades they wanted. She also worked with me when I had a serious family situation take place. She was amazing.

Katie is an amazing teacher! I took intermediate algebra 3 time before I took her class, and I finally passed the four time. Intermediated algebra was extremely difficult for me, but made a lot of it clear. She also allows extra credit for midterm. Highly recommend!!

She's adapted so well to the corona-induced online classes. Her videos are up there with Khan Academy in terms of clarity and usefulness. Hers is the first online math class I've taken that wasn't eternally frustrating.

Prof. Lucero was awesome! If I could take her for Calc 2 I would. She seemed to genuinely care about us and our learning. She's kinda disorganized online, but her caring nature and upbeat attitude made up for it. She went out of her way to help us. Hosted twice weekly zoom problem solving sessions (optional) and weekly office hours. Def. a 10/10!

She definitely does an amazing job at explaining the material and is more than happy to help you with anything you need. For those of us that aren't gifted in math this course is very difficult, there's a lot of material packed in and A LOT of homework. You will feel rushed if you have other classes and work and other responsibilities.

If you are here to LEARN Calc, she is one of the greatest professors out there. If you are wanting an easy PASSING grade, try another school or a different professor. It is a heavy workload, and she definitely makes you work for it(understandably so). Her lectures are easy to follow, and she does weekly Calc "parties", which I thought was clever.

Katie is such a fantastic professor! I had her for her first online class (bc of COVID) and she really helped us all succeed. She created multiple videos per lesson, attached extra optional worksheets, and had 2 optional zooms per week! There was a lot of homework, and 2 quizzes per week. Only the midterm and final exams though! She is my favs!!

Katie is a professor who cares for her students and wants them to develop a good understanding of the material. She has a lot of group projects and is very hands on, her motto was to learn math you must do math. I completely agree, and am honored to have had her as a professor. The lectures are amazing and the necessary topics needed to finish hw is covered in the lecture material. She also had Zoom sessions where you could get your questions answereduse it. I dont know what the other person below is rambling but if you apply a little bit of critical thinking you can figure out any of the problems given in this course.

She's a great lecturer and gives amazingly detailed feedback on quizzes. Calculus 1 is a hard class, and she's not going to let you skate through it or make it up with extra credit. But if you watch or attend her lectures and do the work, you're going to master the material.

The class is difficult because of all of the information covered. You do need to get WebAssign. The zooms are not necessary but incredibly helpful.

If you're tough learner like me the 2hw assignments weekly would take 8-10hrs to get 75% completion or higher. Not bad, just lot of time. HW is about 25-35% of grading overall, saved my butt when it came to exams.

the workload is brutal, but i'm not sure if there's such thing as an easy calculus class! the quizzes and hw are reflective of the midterm (which you can do test corrections on to get points back), so it's definitely worth doing! Katie is so nice and helpful, go to her office hours! if you put in the work to LEARN the concepts, you should do fine.

Her lecture videos are amazing, take as many notes as you can. The course uses an online homework program which can be brutal. I would spend about 6 hours a week on homework alone, despite it having little weight on my grade. She also provides helpful feedback on the weekly quizzes. As long as you put the effort in, you will succeed in this class!

Shes literally one of the best Professors at sierra. Would 100% recommend. She grades very good aswell. Look, as long as you actually pay attention shes perfect.

I absolutely loved Mrs. Lucero! She is so kind and sweet; great at explaining math, has a great voice for lectures. If you do the work she recommends to you, the exams will be a breeze. Super enthusiastic about math and ready to help you learn. 100% would recommend!

Had her for calc 1 and 2 online. Great for both as long as you keep up with the work she assigns. Midterm and final is in person, but there are test corrections for the midterm and the final is curved so it's pretty easy. Wish she taught calc 3 (Chuck is a nightmare).

Professor Lucero's MATH30 class is challenging but manageable with hard work. The lectures and video resources are super helpful, and unstuck ai can be a great supplement. Consistent effort is key to succeeding in this course.

Katie Lucero is amazing!! I had her for Calc 1, Calc 2, and statistics and I would take even more from her!

Mrs. Lucero is a great professor; she's extremely knowledgeable, and it's clear she cares about her students with frequent annoucements and being present in person and online. I had her for Calc 1, Calc 2, and Stats and all three were great. One downside with her stats is that she uses ALEKS, which is absolutely awful as a learning resource.

Katie is a gem. Calc 2 is a LOT of work, and you'll have required hw, weekly online quizzes, and optional worksheets/reviews you'd be better off doing. But everything is worth it, and will teach you exactly what you need to know for the Midterm and Final. She replies to emails in a couple of days, and hosts review sessions before each exams.

Honestly, I could not have had a better professor for Calculus 1. Professor Lucero is clear about what she wants from you the whole way through. There are weekly quizzes (sometimes group activities) that are graded. However, you will not be surprised by the content; which goes for exams as well. On top of all of that, she is caring and attentive.

Katie Lucero is the best calculus teacher I could have asked for! She genuinely cares about her students and wants to see you succeed. Her study guides are spot on to what the chapter exams will look like, as well as she also lets you know ahead of time when quizzes will be and the content that will be on them.

Class is full of examples and group worksheets or quizzes. Super kind and bubbly teacher that cares about whether or not you understand the topic. If you're able to follow along in class, you'll have no trouble with anything in her class, and if you do then you can go ask her and she'll explain the topic in more detail. Amazing teacher

Katie is a wonderful professor. She is really enthusiastic about statistics and math in general. Her lecture and example videos were extremely helpful and she always sounds excited during them! She provides detailed feedback on every submitted assignment and has detailed rubrics which outline the specific requirements for it. Very nice and caring.

Great lectures. Super energetic. Clear grading with partial credit.
