professor Kavita is a great, understandable professor and person. she gives out a fair amount of homework and makes class quite interesting. i believe it is easy to get an A with her. plus she gives u lots of extra credit in case u missed a home assignment. TAKE HER . she's cool, fun, and knowledgeable.

The class was easy-too easy to the point of ridiculousness. Her teaching style is inconsistent. The assignments are a waste of time. She's very nice. You don't have to use your brain at all! If you want an easy grade and to waste your time she's just the teacher to do it. As someone who loves to learn I greatly lament taking her class.

She has a very unique teaching style. Her classes are usually pretty fun. The only thing is that she doesn't make assignments very clear so sometimes it's challenging to figure out what she's asking for. She doesn't really make sure that you learn the material thoroughly which makes the tests more difficult.

If you don't want to learn and just pass you will. But if you want awesome upto date info on psychology and love technology, she is the one to take. Gives online assignments, big on group project " it is part of learning psychology " she says. Always ready to help with. A very nice professor.

Does not have a traditional lecture type class. Includes real life application of psychology. I had no idea how psychology principles were used all around us. She emphasizes on American psychological standards and ethics. She tells you what will be in the mid term and if you miss class or don't pay attention you will miss out. Loved her.

TAKE HER if you really want to learn psychology. She ties in Psy 201 & 202 beautifully. She knows her stuff and gives good feedback and extra credit to help with grades. She is a online assignment person. All exams are online - launchpad. Learnt a lot and now I want to major in psychology. Taking her again next semester for abnormal psychology.

She changed the syllabus 3 times to accommodate students financial needs for launch pad. It was annoying at first but then it benefitted me too. She is an amazing professor. She has full knowledge of her field. I have signed up for the next 202 with her.

Dont't buy the textbook before class starts. Once you are in your group split it with your group members. Exams are open book based on her lectures and notes. Be prepared to listen to what she says will be on the exam and it will be on the exam. Easy and clear. She's a nice person and very helpful. Gives extra credit assignments to help with grades

She is nice. She knows what she is talking about. Makes the information easy to understand. Doesn't trick the students and is very helpful. I had some issues going on and she took the time to listen to me after class and gave me good directions. I will recommend this professor to any student who wants to learn and not complain about everything.

OMG!!!! The only professor who responds back in time. She is so down to earth and dependable. Makes lectures fun and seem so easy. She is big on doing all your work online. It was very helpful as I could work at my own pace and she was always available to answer all my question via email or after class. Gives extra credit points for attendance.

Easy A. Tons of extra credit. Only one or two papers. Spent most of class watching movies like "What About Bob" and "Anger Management" bot hilarious movies. She said we would watch Criminal Minds and other but didnt get around to doing it. A lot of effort is not needed in her class. Textbook is only needed for one project, oherwise its useless.

Easy A, with a lot of learning. Cannot forget what you learn here. Group projects helped me get my grade to an A. Come to class, enjoy it, learn and get an A. She is just great. Don't get your cell phone out in class, she gets MAD after 3 warnings but is understanding it its an emergency. TAKE HER, SHE'S GOOD.

Ok... So my take on this class. She did emphasize on the history of psychology .... But she did relate it to how it is used today. APPLIED.. Tadaaa.... This is one professor who responds to your emails immediately. She has helped me out of class time and never complained. Great respect for her. The mix of online work and her class is just great. The group work is kind of ok. I can do without it but then it helped learn some too. Overall a professor to take guys.

If you need a GPA booster take her! Aside from a group project which is easy, all the other work including exams is done online! You would have to try pretty hard to fail this class. She's very nice and loves interacting with her student. Gives a bunch of extra credit as well. If you need to take PSY courses or boost your GPA take her!

Professor Kavita was one of the easiest professors you could ever have for psychology! She makes class fun! research paper is NOT required its used as extra credit. Attendance doesn't count. ALL homework is on launchpad. It is really easy to not fail her class. Group Projects are also easy its only 1! I recommend you take her she was amazing!!

Very easy class.

Very clear cut. Keep your phone off, no computer, and you better pay attention. She will only tell you once. "PARTICIPATE " it is an applied course so do it, apply yourself .

She knows her material. Responds to emails and helps out of class too. I got an amazing response from her every time I asked her for something and believe me I am one very needy student. Take her and you can get an A by attending and doing the online assignments. Gives extra credit assignments galore to help with grades.

Want to get an A in this class? 1. Do the online assignments 2. Do the group project. That's it! Probably the easiest class I've ever taken at NOVA. I honestly would forget about it because there is virtually no work aside from the group project. The online assignments were a joke! Great professor though!

Taking her for summer 2 at the Loudoun campus. Driving this far was worth it. Awesome teacher. Very helpful and goes over instructions as many times as needed. Don't but the text book ahead of time. She doesn't use it. I wish she taught more classes. I would take her again. She is cute too.

I was kind of disappointed we didn't really learn that much about actual psychology and just the history of it. With that said, it was a very easy and fun class. We got to watch a lot of movies and all of the assignments were online. There was almost no in class work aside from a project and extra credit quizzes. An alright class overall.

Great class. She goes indepth but makes it fun. You learn a lot without getting confused. I think that's because she makes it easy. Very fair in her grading. All tests are online. Overall a very helpful teacher and fun class. Will be taking her for the Anbormal Psy course next semester.

Hands down, one of the best professors at NOVA. She posts assignments online as well as the Midterm and Final exams. You can attempt them as many times as you want. Attendance is also part of your grade. Her lectures are very interesting and she's such a kind person. I will definitely be taking more courses with her!

One of the better professors at NOVA. I took her for 201 and 202, but this class 215 was different. It had more lecture material and reading, and in class exams. She did a study guide which was very helpful. I absolutely love her classes. Excellent prof.

Don't buy the text book. Just share it with a classmate. She has her notes on the text book on blackboard and uses that. Her teaching style is very easy to follow.I think she makes it easy but her class is not very easy as I read on some ratings. You will learn a lot but you have to do some work. It's easy to get an A if you complete all the work.

By far one of the best. She made the semester very interesting and informative. To tell the truth the first 2 classes were more of history and introduction to clinical interviewing. But then this made sense as we jumped into the disorders. She was just too good with her stuff. She knows and understands her field. Take her if you can.

Took her for psy201, psy202 & psy215. She was extremely organized and really easy to follow. She made me work but gave me points for my work too. I am taking her for psy230 this semester again and will take her anytime I need a psy course.

Taking this professor for a hybrid class. The best hybrid class I have ever taken in this school. She explains the entire chapter and does not expect the students to understand by self-learning. She is the only professor I have had that responds to my emails in a couple of hours. Nova needs more professors like her.

Revised the syllabus to included class missed due to weather. I haven't seen this in my 2 years at NVCC. I am so glad I took her class after a horrible experience in Psy 201. She is GREAT. Her lectures are not about just the powerpoints. She knows her material. Gives a study guide and exams based on what she covers in class.

TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO LEARN PSYCHOLOGY. She is a very good teacher. If I wasn't graduating this semester, I would've taken more of her classes. I didn't know of her till she taught this class on Annandale campus.

By far the best professor I've had at NOVA. She's so caring and understanding! She really knows how to teach and makes it easy for you to learn. I don't know why other professors out there don't want to help make it easy for us to learn. We're here to learn and know our stuff, not to fail and stay back. I never thought Applied psychology can be so much fun. Prof. is teaching the APA ethics code. Never imagined how much she teaches applies to my life. This is a great class to understand psychology in our lives and field of profession. Take her for this class. It is different and enlightening.

ONE OF THE BEST AT NVCC. That's all I can say. If you want good psychology class experience, take her for at least one class while you are at NVCC.

I had her for a hybrid course fall and spring semester and if you take hybrid legit everything is on blackboard so its the easiest class ever

Professor Kavita Mirchandani knows her stuff! She gives interesting lectures and reviews the syllabus after each class. Of course you have to work to get an A, show up to class and complete all the work! I highly recommend her class for all students applying for the nursing program.

You need to actively participate to reach full points. She responds to questions in a timely fashion. it was fun being in the class because of the example movies clips she played. An introduction project, APA essay, group exam and final exam.

Kavita Mirchandani is an excellent professor. I took her summer class. It was so easy and lectures were really useful to apply to real life. She teaches in a very effective way. She plays movies to make the lectures more understandable. Would definitely recommend this professor.

This professor is amazing! Took her course in the summer, though it felt long the hours but she makes the class interesting with her amazing lectures and movies as examples. The only assignment I had was the launchpad, if you complete all of them on time you are for sure to pass her class , easy A or easy B class If you trying to pass

Great professor! Had four short essays we had to write about based on movies we watched during class. Weekly launchpad assignments were given to us which would only take about 30min-1hour to do. Lectures weren't ever to heavy If she noticed the class dozing off she'd try getting us to start a discussion on the topic or put on a video about it.

She is the best professor I ever got. Got an A. The classes were so amazing. She is really nice and I love her way to teach. I definitely recommend her

Attendance is mandatory so don't bother taking class if you are going to skip the class. She is very nice but takes a while to reach her by email. She gives you a lot of extra credit and goes over everything during the class. Hw and tests are on Launchpad and answers for tests are on her study guide (basically open book). She is nice and easygoing!

She taught the class as a hybrid, so all her course work was online. She would post study guides up for all her quizzes which really helped. She would lecture in class, and was big on not using cell phones while she lectured. She was really nice and knew the material well, and overall was easy going as long as you did your work.

Good teacher, but I'm unsure if I'd recommend or take her again. Shes gets very irritated and derailed by background noise or if just 1 person isn't paying attention. She'll stop class and spend a couple minutes each time to complain about it. Other than that,her grade criteria is easy to follow,online and getting an A is too if you put in the work

Gives answer to all the quizzes no projects would definitely recommend her if you want an A in her class.

I made the trip to a campus that was not my home campus for this professor as her reviews were great and I would definitely advise anyone else thinking of making the trip to do so; this class was easily one of my favorites of all the classes ive taken. Professor Mirchandani is very friendly and caring. She is very knowledgable about the course. She heavily relies on Launchpad for homework and quizzes which she has a study guide for. There was some issues with some online classes due to internet issues, but she tries to make it up. If you just do the work and the quizzes then it is an easy A.

Professor Mirchandani's class was a breeze to be in and she had good lectures and interesting videos to watch and learn from. You just had to come to class, be prepared to participate in the discussions about the videos and lectures. All her homework , tests and quizzes are on Launchpad. Exams are open note based on study guides in advance.

This class is an easy A & stress free. Every test is open book & the little homework that you do have grades on participation, not the actual grade you got (ex: a 75% is still a 100%). On a personal level she wasn't a nice teacher & didn't respond to anyone's emails/texts all semester - but the class is entirely effortless & failing is impossible.

This class was by far the easiest class Ive ever had. Her study guides literally give you the answers you need to the test and its open "note"/ book tests! For the most part class was fun, I had an evening class so everyone was always ready for it to be over but she made sure to keep our attention! She's super caring and wants every to get an A.

This is one of the essay classes I've taken so far. Amazing professor. She gives you a lot of extra credit. If you did all your work, you get essay A.

To make things simple, all you need to know is that this professor is nice and if you attend her lecture and complete the east work she gives, you will get an A. Take her class!

Took this class online over the summer for 6 weeks. Textbook was used via free trials since we wouldn't be in class that long. Many assignments given and were easy with each one being worth points. A was achieved by finishing 90 pts of work and did not need to come to class after. Very chill and easy A for non Psych majors!
