Yuck. She is ver unhelpful and confrontational when you disagree with her or ask for help. If you aren't good in math, don't take her class.
She is very helpful when you dont understand things and her study guides are awesome! take the class I had a professor before her and dropped it because it was sooo hard. She makes it easy!!!! If your not great at math take her!!!!
I took 1101 with another professor and dropped it after first class. With Mrs. Crump I did really enjoyed math, no matter how much I hate it.She is very clear. Will work with you as long as visit classroom from time to time. She does have attandece policy, but on test you won't feel uncomforable. She gives a full review sheet a wekk before the test.
She yelled at several people in the class. If you didn't understand she wouldn't try to help.
Wow...she was crazy. Like she had good days and bad, but she yelled and argued with people. If your good at math take her, I got an A. The group work was easy, but don't get on her bad side and go to class.

Very quick and direct. Was very nervous on almost all tests and quizes, but the reviews and sheets prior were very helpfull, so keep them. Math is never really pleasant, but with her, it was bareable. Make sure that you show up for class, or it's 'harder' to ask questions. There's a plus if you don't miss very many classes.
dropped after 2 weeks her idea of teaching is putting you in groups and YOU work through the problems very little guidance from professor you basically teach yourself the material would not recommend this professor not very approachable if you need help very short with you
Professor Crump will bend over bckwards to hel you understand and pass algebra
Crump is very helpful if you need it but is very strict on homeowrk and attendance. Final was easier than test. Used eduspace alot.
If Professor Crump's speed could be bottled and sold, the crack industry would be out of business. She knows the subject quite well, almost autistically, so be sure to take notes at an alarming quickness.
Not a good teacher. She doesn't explain the material well and she gives quizzes at the end of class when you were just taught the material. Her test are hard and you have to study a lot! You must come to class or you will be lost and you wont have a participation grade.
She is not helpful at all, and treats you like your in high school. If you don't understand something and ask a question she just gets mad at you and says you weren't paying attention. A close friend of mine died and she would not excuse my absence for the wake or funeral.
She teaches very quickly but is clear about the subject. She answers your questions and does her best to help you understand the subject. As long as you show up, pay attention, and ask questions you should do fine in her class. Her biggest draw back is she is a little scatterbrained sometimes.
Dude, she is the worst. She rushes through all the lessons and doesn't explain anything afterwards. I love math, but I hate coming to her class. I always get super depressed when entering and am super bummed after leaving. It's like she doesn't care.
Had no interest in the class just wanted to brush up on Math skills before Calc. She goes very quickly over the material. I spent days studing for the tests to no avail. Can be rude and nasty at times. Will take again with a different professor. She gives 2 tests for each test calculator and non calculator.
She went over the material VERY quickly and was sometimes hard to follow. You have to pay attention in the class to get a good grade. Her tests were pretty hard and required a lot of study time, but manageable. She replaces your lowest test grade with your exam which is VERY helpful if you study for the exam... she curves it too.
Great prof. People say she moves fast and she admits that she does the first day. I disagree though. After every concept she teaches she asks if there are any questions before moving on. She usually asks several times. Everything I did not quite get, I asked about and she explained thoroughly. I don't feel sorry for people who don't pay attention
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She is the absolute worst! She is unhelpful and gets frustrated when you don't understand. She won't fully explain the material so you have to either find a tutor or go on the internet. She uses MathXL like its going out of style. The final is worth 25% of the grade, and is cumulative Terrible, terrible teacher!
I am really good in math, but she is aweful! She's one of those teachers that reads the book to you.She doesn't actually explain things, and very sarcastic and talks down to students who ask questions. She is a know it all, but doesn't know how to explain it all, aweful teacher, do not take her unless you've already learned this info in High School
Overall a nice person, but not a very good teacher. She goes through the material very quickly, which was way too quickly for me. I do not enjoy math, but I studied and practiced problems every night and still did not do well in her class. I would not recommend her to anyone.
She is a fine teacher and knows her material. She explains everything throughly and is not afraid to answer questions. Use MathXL because it is extremely helpful and can learn everything almost exclusively from it. The tests are super hard though and do not use problems the same way as the homework or examples do making it very easy to fail.
Mrs. Crump was too cool. She worked with us, even though I might not have made an A it felt like she was fighting through it with us. I wish more teachers cared as much as she does about her students. I would tell anyone who has to take this course be ready to work and DO MISS CLASS
She is horrible. If you are planning to take her steer clear. She skips through almost every problem and does not help at all. I've asked for help a few times and was given smart remarks for answers. I would not take her if my life depended on it.
Mrs. Crump is a great professor. I'm currently taking her class. She explains everything thoroughly and she seems intimidating at times but don't be afraid to ask her questions. You HAVE to show up for class because she gives quizzes at the end of class 99% of the time. Her tests are HARD so you will really have to work for an A.
I'm surprised this professor has had so many negative comments. I enjoyed her class and her expectations were reasonable. You can easily ask questions, test are typical, just work hard. I recommend her.
Very bipolar. She fits the bill for vulgarities I can't use here. She laughs at people when they need help, won't let you use scratch paper on a test, and treats us like hated high schoolers. Avoid her, she is the type of teacher who hates teaching, and has a vendetta against her students.
Great professor! I'm surprised she has so many negative comments too. Class expectations were normal. She is very helpful and I recommend her! She prepared me well for Calc 1.
TERRIBLE teacher! She is sarcastic and loves to give rude comments to her students when they ask for help. She hates teaching and it is just plain obvious by the way she treats her students. Stay away!
expects you to know everything. not willing to teach you. stay away if possible!
Dont understand all the negative comments. She is very helpful and does a good job on explanations. It is a hard class (moves very fast) but she is very honest about that upfront. I was disappointed that she is not teaching Calc 1 this semester.
I absolutely loved her teaching, she could not have done it any better. She will get pissed though if you skip class, but you need to be there to learn anyways. so just dont skip, and dont text, she absolutely hates people who text and will never help you if she see's you text, but you shouldnt text in class anyways.
I did poorly in trig in high school, but managed to make an A in Krump's class. Her teaching is a little confusing so you MUST pay attention and copy down everything she does on the board. This class isn't hard if you show up and do the work. Final in cummulative. She doesn't teach from the book, but she does assign problems from it occasionally.
Ms. Crump teaches with lightning speed, but she does her best to answer any questions. She makes herself available if you need her. Her tests are hard, but if you study and do mymathlab an A is very achievable.
taught calculator functions, then didn't allow you to use calculators on the test. Very scattered, doesn't simplify things, expects you to just know a lot of the material
One of the worst teachers I've ever had. She was extremely rude to every student and instead of answering questions in class she would make you feel dumb for not understanding and just move on. The content wasn't that hard, but if you get confused at all it's extremely difficult to get back on top of things since she wasn't helpful at all.
She is the worst!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER! She makes you feel dumb if you do not know what is going on. She favors the students that do well and brags for them. her test are ridiculous as in they are hard and challenging. She sometimes would put stuff we didn't go over. SHE IS SOO AWFUL!! DONT TAKE HER!
AVOID! I really disliked Professor Crump. She always contradicted herself and does not answer questions directly. She looks lost sometimes and attendance is mostly mandatory. You have to go to class because she assigns homework that she doesnt put on Vista. I have to take this class again because of her. Crump=Grump!
Prof. Crump made my love for math even stronger. Her tests have 2 parts: calc. and non-calc. They aren't super easy but you have to practice, practice, & practice. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone that doesn't really understand math, but if you enjoy doing math, I would recommend to take her. Her rating should be higher than this.
She goes too fast and doesn't explain the material.
She is a nice person but the class moves *Extremely* fast. When she is teaching the material it seems fairly comprehensible but when it comes to the tests, she picks problems that are about 10 times harder than what you learned in class.
She is a very difficult teacher. She teaches very quickly and expects you to understand everything the first time. I had to teach myself most of the material, but still got an A. Never miss class and always take notes and unfortunately you will have to read the book to fully understand the material. She picks very difficult problems for the tests.
This is a difficult course to start with. I had to spend many sundays in the math lab to teach myself large sections of material that I suppose I should have already known. She is a nice person, and will help, especially if you show up to class. Do not take her if you think it will be a walk in the park her tests are very difficult.
If you are not good at math AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I decided to take Trig, and I must say, if you didn't take this course in high school, you're kinda screwed. She moves VERY quickly.. so quick she sometimes makes mistakes in her own problems. She will make you feel stupid if you do not understand a concept, and she over-complicates simple concepts.
Mrs. Crump moves VERY quick! If you did not take trig in HS you will not understand anything she goes over! There is a quiz every other class... Overall hard course, and I would not take her class again
Super nice teacher! Gives you extra points. If you took pre-calc in high school this class will be a breeze! I took it junior year and barely understood anything but Mrs.Crump made everything a lot cleare. Definitely reccomend her!
She is probably the worst teacher ever. She expects you to learn new things on your own. If you aren't good at math, don't even consider taking this class, if you are good at math, look for another professor first
She's extremely condescending and not willing to help her students. DO NOT TAKE HER
WORST TEACHER EVER. do not take her.
Im not usually mean, but she is an awful teacher. Not helpful at all, very confusing, doesn't explain things well. She just explains problems on the board like you already know them. Tests are extremely hard. And she doesn't allow calculators on any of the tests. DO NOT TAKE HER.
Couldn't get numbers right, hard to follow along. VERY STRICT on electronic usage. Treats you like you're 5 years old. Has no time for you. Uses ALL 75 min of class. Not much homework but attendance is a hit or miss with sign-in sheet. Don't take her if possible.
She is awful in every possible way. Shes condescending and rude when you ask questions. Every question you have she responds with "Its in your notes." Attendance is very mandatory. I suggest you avoid at all cost whether you are excellent at math or you are alright. DEFINITELY DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD AT MATH.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. I am good at math and I usually get an A or high B and in her class I got a D! She does not explain things and she does not know what she is doing. If the school had any sense she would not be teaching! I recommend that you try to find another teacher.
Yes this class is hard, but Professor Crump makes it easy to succeed. She makes her office available to students who need extra help. She is very nice and super helpful! Do not miss any class or it will be hard to catch up, as long as you study after class and pay attention you should do fine.
She is condescending and rude. She writes in cursive on the board so its hard to read so sit in the front. She took up our notes and graded them for accuracy (not accurate is her favorite phrase during graphing). Go to the SI sessions, our SI leader says you get points for going but not entirely sure thats true. Study guides help on tests kinda
I might have to retake this class with another, hopefully better teacher. She moves way too fast in a subject where taking your time is necessary to understand the info. She's very strict with calculators which is very old-school and ridiculous. If you don't work the problem out like the way she does, she'll count off for that. DO NOT TAKE HER.
I took trig in high school and got a B without trying what so ever. Despite the reviews on this site I took her class anyways. She is a really nice person and will help you one on one, but her expectations are really unreasonable. I am struggling to make a C. And am a 3.5 student.
Moves too fast through material. When the class asked her to slow down she said no. Not helpful at all and only teaches her way with no interest in helping you learn.
She does't explain how to do any of the problems she puts on the bored and refuses to go slower to explain the material.
If you are going to take a math class, save yourself the pain and pick another teacher. Teaches material way too fast and expects students to get how to do it almost right away. Tests are difficult. The good thing is the my math labs are easy and you get a grade just for showing up.
Do not take her! She is bad at explaining the material and leaves much of the lessons to be learned by yourself. On top of that, she is very rude and I've seen her on more than a few occasions making rude and personal comments to students who ask for help.
Do NOT take this teacher! I have never done so poorly in a math class my entire school career! She doesn't allow calculators on majority of the tests and quizzes. And, she takes too much points off on little mistakes. And, she expects for you to learn from the book and ask questions in class. Ridiculous!
worst teacher ever. Sassy and rude. very degrading and acts like you're stupid when you ask a question. hardly any grades. can't miss more than 2 classes. no calculator on tests. never worked so hard in my life to get a B. my GPA went from a 3.8 to a 3.6 because of her.
She focuses a lot on why math is the way it is instead of just teaching you the material you need to pass the test. USE HER OFFICE HOURS. I would not recommend her. She is not very understanding and does not try to teach in a way that makes it easier for students to understand.
Get ready to do math without a calculator. I did horrible without my calculator (the first test I got a 61) but the last test before the final we were able to use one for the whole test (I got a 100)
If I hadn't had this class in high school, I would've failed. She is very confusing and often contradicts herself. She asks if you have any questions but when you ask a question she says that you should have paid attention. If I could have taken another professor, I would have.
I'm not very good at math, so this class was hard for me any way. Crump makes mistakes, but students are quick to correct her. This class is easy is you're good at math and attend class.
She's really difficult and will not work with students. DON'T take her class this is the first class I've ever failed. Really hard to understand at times, extremely difficult grader and she contradicts herself very often.
She is pretty rude. She doesn't come to class prepared to work with you. She wants to give you the basis (and she barely does that) in class and expects you to commit it to memory on your own. She doesn't give much work but she grades extremely hard on what she does give. Be cautious choosing any of her classes.
You always have to show up to her class on time. I live far and park in the central parking deck so it took me a min and she will not count for my attendance. She doesnt like repeating her self and if you dont know how to do something you always have to go to myMathLab and figure it out. Towards the end she will become nicer and help you.
She knows what she is talking about but she doesn't teach or explain it well at all. No one understands what she's saying Mose of the time
I don't see how she has such bad reviews. She is amazing. Her tests are exactly like all the homework she gives and there is extra credit on every test, and she curves every one.
The rating she has is accurate. Crump grades hard & usually what she says will be on the exam will only cover a few questions. Often times she has worked out problems, gotten the wrong answer, then backtracks & tells us to do it a different way. She counts attendance as a grade and participation is the difference between passing and failing.
The best way to describe Mrs. Crump is to tell you she is Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter. She is sickly sweet acting with a little tiny voice but very very rude. She does not like answering questions and is not good at teaching. In our class she got in verbal arguments with multiple students multiple times. Its not hard to pass though
If you're not very good at math to begin with, I would not suggest taking from her. She's very confusing. The tests are really hard, but there's usually an extra credit problem. You have to do a lot of outside work and teach yourself concepts. However, she provides a lot of resources and she usually lets us out early.
This was the hardest course I have ever taken. If you are not a math person or haven't taken trig in the past, do not take her class. She isn't very clear, and contradicted herself in every class. I had to teach myself all of the material. Her tests were very difficult.
Awful teacher. Also she seems to be a nice older lady but in reality a really nasty women. She once asked a student to leave class because she was checking her phone for a deceased friend. Argues a lot and messes up on her own problems. Never take.
This lady looks like a nice grandmother figure on the outside but has quite the rude attitude. She lightens up at the end though. Don't bring technology into the class! Don't take her if you are not good at Trig already. She is fast paced and ALWAYS makes a mistake. Very confusing sometimes and many people have to correct her.
Hates repeating herself and doesn't answer questions during class time Must see her after class for clarification She has really inconvenient office hours and isn't time accommodating Absolutely hates cellphones and takes points off if you don't come to class Doesn't explain the material in a way that is easily understood Syllabus, READ!!!!!
I was very grateful I remembered this material from high school. Crump does her best but she will get confused and the students correct her mistakes. Some sections go very fast and cover a lot of material, so outside studying is a must. She does not allow any technology in her class (she will kick you out). She also was rude if you askedquestions.
Mrs. Crump makes very simple concepts very confusing. She cares more about you not looking at your phone than actually teaching the material. Will spend half of class scolding people for doing poorly on an assignment rather than helping them understand what they got wrong. Assigns homework on material she never taught. Strongly advise not to take!
She is the absolute worst teacher. She is disrespectful to students. She will kick you out if you even glance at your phone to check the time. Her tests are hard. Most the time she doesn't even cover everything on the test. Absolutely miserable class.
This is literally the worst professor I have ever encountered. I give credit when it's due but she doesn't deserve it at all. She worries more about your phone in class than the actual material we should be learning. When she grades she doesn't give partial credit. Oh yeah lets not forget, we can't use calculators. DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS LADY!
I dread every single day. She is absolutely the worst teacher. Very rude, VERY FAST, very confusing, doesn't answer questions. If you picked up math well in the past, but don't know much about trig, don't expect it to be the same with Crump! I'm struggling teaching myself the material.
I earned a 95 in this exact same class my senior year of high school. I am warning you now, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. She is awful, does not give any extra credit or partial points on tests or quizzes. Is very vague, rude, & gets annoyed and mad when students ask questions. Made 34 on last quiz & I have never made lower than a B on anything math.
I wouldn't take this teacher if you have a great gpa. She doesn't teach what's going to end up on the test. Homework is nothing like what she teaches. The work she does for examples are easy but when the quiz and test comes it is nothing a like for you to know it. Do not sign her up as your math teacher.
Professor Crump is the worst math professor I've ever had. She does not cover the material well and then blames the students for not doing well on her tests. The study problems she gives are easy and then when you get to the test, her problems are extremely difficult. You can't even check the time on your phone w/out the threat of being kicked out.
Kay Crump's class can be easy or hard depending on your background of math. I really liked math in high school so if you consider math as one of your strong subjects, you will do fine in this class. If you're not good at math this class will be tough but she offers a lot of optional math problems, she'll work through questions, and she has tutoring
Professor Crump was not an awful teacher. At the beginning of the Semester she taught like everyone should know the information, but as the semester went on I caught on to her style of teaching and was not bad. My math lab due a few times a week, other than that not much homework. She grades quizes very quick, slow on tests. I would take her again.
Do not take her. She is rude, rushes through power points, and will not work a problem more than once regardless how confused you are. Her quizzes are hard and the homework is all online. She acts as if you already know this information and is not helpful at all. She also likes to be rude and callout students for unnecessary reasons.
I felt that Professor Crump was rude and unprofessional at times. She would stop lecturing just to call out students who were not paying attention and when we asked her go over material again because we didn't understand she would say she didn't have enough time and would move on. I would not recommend this teacher if you actually need to be taught
