She assigns alot of work but nothing too overwhelming. Have to earn your grade
lovely lady, you have to work hard, but fun class
Her lectures are boring but if you really try to listen and actually write down notes, you'll be fine. She likes to have group quizzes, and fill in maps. Took her twice, but the first time it was my bad.
Her class is very boring, but it is not impossible to pass the class you have to do four one to two page papers.

Like everyone else says, very boring lectures. But it's pretty easy to pass her class.
Very fair, helpful. Lectures are quite dry.
One has no clue to as what she is asking.
I enjoyed her class and I'm not big on history. She made it interesting. Read the text, pay attention in class and ask questions and you'll do fine.
Very unhelpful and nasty. Obviously not in teaching to actually help students. AVOID.
Topics and approach to subject interesting, but don't ****her off. "Disrespectful" class behavior not welcome. Grading is a point system but not a cake walk. ADHD students: she does not accommodate well, avoid.
She is friendly and kindly. She helps her students who works hard. She is not letting lazy students to get away from her classes. If you take her classes, be ready for working hard. She is a fair teacher. Lovely Lady!
She's very helpful -- she really wants her students to learn and to pass the class. She goes out of her way to accommodate students. At first I thought her lectures were boring, but when I really started to listen, I found that she had a lot to say.
Lectures could be interesting. The text book is the worst I have ever read in all my years of school. Book is difficult to read. You will read the entire book, have a midterm, final, and a 20 minute presentation, and a critical thinking paper. (hard)
Hard class but will accomadate your needs. Lectures are very interesting if you listen! Text book is very very very hard and way too detailed. You will read 1 autobiography, novel, 2 textbooks, Critical thinking assn. Be ready to work HARD!

liberal views are thoguht in her class with liberal texts required for reading. spare yourself the headache and find a better instructor

Hard but super-nice.
Excellent teacher. Knows her subject. Grades according to what student puts into class. I learned alot about California that I didn't know prior to taking her class and I was born in California. Take her if you want to learn about California. She cares.
While I feel her course is relatively easy and her lectures clear, I really don't get the sense that she cares about her students. Difficult person to interact with. I was disppointed with her course.
one of the easiest classes i have evr had, but one of the most annoying teachers i have ever had. take this class only if you have to not if you want to learn anything or actually like history, cause its awful
She's awsome, but you have to work. If you do all your work and listen to her lectures you will for sure get an "A," don't let this oppurtunity pass you by, take her class for sure!!!
I didn't feel that she was helpful at all and there was way too much detail expected. I took the ITV course and found the videos and the text to sometimes be contradictory. The test where difficult even if you study hard. Wording was hard to comprehend.
Way too much work and the textbook sucks...her questions, lectures, and instructions are not very clear(hard to take notes)...I found myself either playing with my phone or drawing in class...
I enjoyed her class more than I thought I would. Lots of projects including group projects) but I learned a lot more in her class than I expected.I you pay attention and listen to what she says, and remember this is NOT high school, You'll do just fine

Not a good teacher, at least not for an ITV class. She does not lecture much. You are practicaly on your own. She also gives tones of projects. If you want to learn History, do not take her ITV class.
Anyone who fails her ITV class is a moron. Her History 7A on ITV was a walk in the park. Just do the reading and watch the videos and you will do fine in her class.
One word sums up this class...BORING!!!!! I felt asleep every time I went there....I rather wanted to stay at home pretending to be a doll. Oh..and you will have to write 3 journals a week, which is annoying. Overall, she is OK but I think there are better options if you need English 100.
I took her class on T/Th at 1-315 during the fall 2004. Her class is very boring. I always want the class 2 end and I always look back at the clock about every 15 minutes. I dont like 2 write in a journal 3 time a week about 300 words each. Nice teacher but I ended up dropping the class by the end.
Boring and not intellectually challenging. Easy 'A'if you do the work. Level of teaching is very superficial. She also treats her class like a high school classroom.
she gives you an absurd amount of work and doesn't go over it. she made us read 1000 pieces of gold, 300 pg book, and she only asked 1 question about it(not even a good question).grades too hard and leaves you too stressed.

She IS hard and she will make you work for your "B" but that is why you're going to college, right? If you think you're going to coast through her class, think again! Although, I can still quote historical mumbo-jumbo about California! It stuck!
Great class for a busy schedule. Teacher was challenging. Tests were tough but manageable.
She is one of the most boring teachers I've ever had. She made the 3 hour seminar feel like it was 6 hours. She also gave two assignments (library & map), and after all the hard work you put into them, she didn't even collect them. She just gave you the test on them. Her tests were hard, & the study guide she gave for the final didn't even help.
Do not take this course with her, I had her this pass spring from 1 to 3pm, and the first three months of the semester she would not assign any eassys. So the class was boring. Then the last month of school she assigned 4 essays including a M.L.A. research paper.
DO NOT TAKE. VERY BORING & HARD. TO MUCH READING MAKES YOU DO A PRESENTATION AT THE END ON BORING MATERIAL. TESTS ARE HARD AS WELL
Her lectures were terrible to live through and none of the lecture material and very little of the required reading was on tests. I took this class over summer hoping to save time and now I wish I would have just taken it during the regular semester.

This class is torturous. Her lectures (if you can call them that) are disorganized. She gives a map & library assignment that are a waste of valuable time. Whereas Uranga's Pol Sc 1 ITV was great & okay over interim, this was awful. Dropping the class was the best decision I made. I like most all teachers but she is in a league of her own. AVOID!!!

Do not take this teacher. She does not help you and will not take the time to help you. She waits till the last minute to give out essays then expects you to turn everthing in on time. She's no good.
the material she was giving was easy. but she would never specify in what she wanted, so it always turned out htat the work u did was a waste of time. the whole time i felt i was back in elememtary! she would sit in front of hte class for 2 hours for "story telling time" plus she would loose track of time and let us late with no break...i got a 'B'
Unfortunately, she is the worst instructor I've ever had a PCC. The map and library projects are a complete waste of time and she fails to provide any kind of direction towards what students should be studying for the exams. Then when you do take the exams, they are full of trivial and very random questions. Ugh, very painful class.
This is, unfortunately, the worst class I have ever taken. The assignments seem to have little to do with the exams/subject. Never clear as to what was going to be on the exams. Questions on exams are sometimes based on her opinion. She can be condescending towards students when questions aren't answered correctly. This class was absolute torture.
She was absolutly horrible teacher. She didn't care about anyone or anything she just talk her mouth off the entire hour and a half. I eventually dropped after midterms.
Material is easy, tests are difficult. Teacher digresses for twenty mins. before getting to the point. Tip on Library Assignment: find article FIRST in the HUMANITIES INDEXES. Articles written prior to 1970 will be on MICROFILM!
What a stupid moron.. thinks that the people in the class are einstein.. ummm no especially the way she teaches. Can b a psycho at times, if your into ass kissing this is the class for u, but for me it was a pain in the ass!!!!

I hated this teacher! She gets carried away in lectures. Very unclear! Hard to pass this class. Don't take her if you need to pass this class unless you are a history whiz and a smarty pants!!
Who in the hell gave this "teacher" a job at this institution!...We want to learn and not be affraid of entering the class....Good lord! dont take this class with her...please!!!

She is boring. We only meet 6 times throughout the semester and she talks forever. But, it's easy to get an A. You just need to read and watch the videos. If you do better on the final she deletes your mid term grade and doubles your final. I wasn't doing too well before the final, got an A on the final, got an A in the class.
She was a great story teller and a great lecturer making us understand the material. The book sucked but if you just attend class you will do fine. Midterm was hard though and final was outrageous. Has projects that were fun if u were ahead of time.
Hist 7a ITV This is a tough class, there is lots of reading and the tests are very difficult. There is also 2 other books you are required to read for the final and a library assignment that is a pain in the a$$. I had to take it again to get a better grade.
This is the ITV's class and she is so so soooooo boring beyond the earth......
She always comes in LATE. Shes very slow and boring. Majority of the class fell asleep. She goes on and talk forever. Her lecture doesnt relate to the reading. Shes not organized either. I havent taken a test from her yet, i will be tomorrow. She gives too much homework. She does attendance when she feels like it. I dont recommend her.
She should be stop teaching and getting retired.
SHE IS BORING!she is an old lady about 75yrs. she should retired!!! she assings ALLOT of work, and she makes you do a powerpoint and a skit(15mnts each part). she is ALWAYS late, and she takes forever to grade our papers...and she can bearly walk...(after all, i feel sorry for her).
Don't mean to be harshy but she shouldn't be teaching she doesn't prepare for the class at all and god forbid you write something else other than her own opinion about history on your essay when we went to ask her for the essays from the fianl, after we received our final grades, the essays were not marked at all I don't think she reads them at all
I went to go talk to her about the grade on my essay and asked why she gave me that grade.. she explained why and what's missing,,n actually all the things she said were missing, were in the essay!! she read it again n ended up giving me 10 more points(imagine what if I hadn't gone to talk to her)if you like ass kissing take her if not NO!!!!!!!
The tests were not easy she grades essays kind of harshly so keep up on your grammer and explain things clearly or it will effect you. I liked her alot she's easy to talk to and cares about your future. Be aware most of her lectures have little or nothing to do with her tests. She wants you to cover all of the text books & video's.
can be a helpful professor, cares for her students only if u go up and ask for help. has a VERY EASY map test and group projects
This teacher is utterly useless. Her assignments carry absolutely no value. Her lectures aren't even accurate to the book. I've learned more about slavery from a box of Newports during Black History month than I did in her class. I think there's a reason why she got demoted to an adjunct professor. PCC should just can this lady. Students beware!
She does not realize that her lecture/class format and the midterm and final do not correlate. She made us do the midterm over with a group, open book and note and we could not find many of the answers. Make sure to do well on your map, library exam and quizzes to balance out the low grades you'll get on the midterm and final.
I cannot stay awake in class. The professor keeps going on about the same subject constantly pausing every two minutes. There's a game called "Rise of Nations" for the PC. The game add notes in battlefields to detail historical info. It's sad that I learn more about the Spanish Invasion of the Aztec from the game than I do in class.
I hate this teacher. She is the worst I ever had. She is useless. Her lectures do not apply to the tests and she does not give good outlines for the tests.P.C.C. She is old and her vioce is shaky and she can't keep her train of thought.

I took her ITV class. OMG!!, where do I began.Her syllabus is confusing, their is no continuity to her lectures,and oh yea! In a 6wks. class she only lectured 2X's. This was the worst instructor. Take her class with CAUTION!!!
ITV class winter2009. Dabelow is rude, a scatterbrain, boring, and definitely in need of retirement. My mom had her in the 60's. I'm not lying. Her tests do not correlate with the text, the midterm and final are very hard and unnecessarily confusing. Her lecture leads nowhere. I studied really hard and I got a B. I regret taking her class.
An example of her ineptness: She asked a class of almost 200 to all email her individually about an assignment before it could be completed. When I emailed her 3 times in 2 weeks to no response (and due date looming) she had the gall to tell me to learn to be patient! She is rude and scatter brained. Stop teaching lady, you are ridiculous.
Difficult teacher for an ITV class. Lots of reading. Have to memorize practically the entire book to get a good grade in the objective midterm and final. Her lectures are interesting, but slow and do not necessarily pertain to the book. Overall, not the type of teacher many should take.

ITV Course. Only good for SELF MOTIVATED PPL. All independent study. It's awesome for someone w/busy schedule but still harder than regular classes. NO study WIMPS will pass! :)
Lazy instructor. One-page, messy and unorganized syllabus. Experiences from reviewers from 5 years ago are the same today. She expects you to know information for exams that cannot be found in the text or DVDs. I studied big time for her class and still only got a B. This is the first B for a Hist class I've ever had. Avoid her like the plague.
Her textbook is full of typos/errors; she is, too. She even admitted she and the textbook were wrong but refused to change her test questions/answers. She also lectured about irrelevant topics. She seems to not know how to lecture coherently. Her grading system was fair. Her assignments were easy, albeit annoying. Take her if you must.
ITV:Textbook is extremely hard to follow (its not chronological, and NO INDEX!) but the videos were interesting and easy to watch. do well on the map and library assignments (easy, they just take a LOT of time) because the midterm and final are insanely hard. tip:take the online tests, most questions come from them) nice lady, interesting lectures.
Nice lady, but unorganized. Avoid at all costs. Book makes no sence. I didnt learn much of anything. She does give you chances to improve your grade, but your grades gonna be so low that it might not do anything to help. Exams are crazy.

I am a very good student, and get very good grades. I absolutely hated her class! Her test were unfair, and there were many questions where the material wasn't covered or the test questions were confusing. I was worried that I might fail her class because my test scores were so low. In the end I did ok, but I would not recommend her.
Terrible teacher. She tends to ramble on and on with her lectures, pausing every other sentence in a poor attempt to get you involved but in reality drives you nuts because you just want her to finish a stupid sentence. Her quizzes are grades are mostly out of the textbook publisher's sample questions found online. Laziest teacher I've ever had.
Very hard class. Very hard to get an "A", unless you put in a lot of work. Hint: take the subjective final and do the paragraph questions on the online quizzes to prepare. She's very helpful if you communicate with her, just don't ask her anything that is listed in her syllabus.

Getting the grade you're happy with in this class is like a lottery. Her midterm and final exams are harsh and unfair. I talked to over 50 students who fail or got Ds in them. All the reviews are true.
Terrible class and unhelpful teacher, She talks and talks and doesn't stop, really annoying. Really hard mid term and final, she uses irrelevant sunjects. I got a D.
Lots of work! Took her itv class over the summer and it was pretty terrible. The midterm and final were ridiculous but if you actually do the reading and study, you will get by. The textbook is terrible too! I got a B. Wouldn't recommend unless you know history.
I don't get all the whining here. I took her Women's History course when I first went back to school and it was outstanding. She is tough, but this is college. She set me up well for my transfer to USC, where it was "sink or swim."
This class is not easy. I took her ITV class so there was class once a month. Expect a lot of homework, 4 tests (all multiple choice) and a lot of reading. I ended up with an A in the class. This is definitely a college level class so if you can't show up to class, don't like to read, don't like to do homework then don't take
Her lectures are boring. But the work she gives and her exams are easy if you just read the book and study. You should be able to pass with AT LEAST a B if you're actually trying. If not, then well, it goes down from there. Just do the work, study, and there should be no excuse for you not to pass
Her lectures were all over the place like she actually lived it. She grades on emotion, so if she's not feeling well that reflects on her grading. Her grading is harsh and she expects you to answer questions that she didn't put clearly in the rule-brick. This class was a typical history class: boring and difficult.
