Ms. Sandberg is by far my favorite professor at NC State. The class is tough, don't get me wrong, but she has found a way to get students engaged during every class. Be prepared to actually have to take an interest in teaching yourself outside of the classroom, an hour and 15 minutes is not long enough to learn orgo at all! Best teacher ever!

Dr. Sandberg's system for teaching Orgo 2 is excellent. All of the lectures are videos, and class time is spent solving problems with TA guidance. I took the flipped section of this class and would definitely recommend for the best understanding of orgo. You get out of this class what you put into it as a lot of it is guided but self-paced. In class assignments are groupwork, so make sure you aren't just copying what everyone at your table says and actually understand the answers.

I feel like she wrote the good reviews herself because ain't no way somebody liked her teaching. I barely saw her in the class, if I had questions I needed to contact my TA. I went to the tutoring center and all the tutors there hated her too and couldn't believe how in depth & extensive the hw was for no reason. Only take her if you're a genius.

Professor 100% writes positive reviews themselves. Extremely difficult class. The professor demands perfection with little to no room for error on ALL assignments. Will criticize and bully you if you reach out for help. TA's can be hit or miss. Please save yourself from the headache of this professor and just take someone else.

Sandberg's orgo class is no walk in the park, but with dedication and the right study tools like Unstuckstudy AI, it can be managed. The flipped format requires discipline, but helps make the material more digestible. Put in the work, and you'll succeed.

This class is unforgiving thanks to Sandberg. She's not only inflexible with students (I have a friend whose father was in the hospital and all she had to say was "Hospitals still have wifi!") but I also felt uncomfortable talking with her alone as she made racial microaggressions towards me. Kay Sandberg made me hate chemistry.

great teacher and explains concepts very well. I had her for the flipped 221 & 223 and got an A+ in both. If ur not disciplined enough to learn the content at home, don't take her flipped class. It's time consuming, but any orgo class will be. Don't be dissuaded by other reviews, a lot of students like to blame the teacher when the class is hard.

This class is difficult and a lot of work, but Dr. Sandberg is absolutely amazing at her job. I have never had a class be so organized and run so well, and the content will make sense if you actually do the work the way she says. She is always accessible outside of class as well. Great class.

Very difficult but also very doable. Exams are at DELTA and on WebAssign. Watch lectures at home twice a week, and class two days a week except on exam weeks. In-class work is done with a group so it isn't too bad. Great professor, great lectures, but very difficult content. I've also heard Sandberg goes more "in-depth" than other Ochem professors.

DON'T TAKE THIS PROFFESOR! I have received straight A's since day one of college. I loved orgo 1 and got an A in it. Sandberg has ruined any love I had for orgo and made the subject so much harder than it should be. I received my first B in her class and worked 100 times harder than any other class. There is so much work and exams are on webassign!

Sandberg is very good. If you take the flipped section, your lectures will be biweekly 30-60 minute videos that have questions you have to respond to. Exams make up most of your grade, but the practice exams she posts look exactly like the real exams. She is very good at explaining concepts, but if you get behind it is hard to catch up.

I had Sandberg for Orgo 1 and 2. Her class was the hardest one I took both semesters. You watch the lectures at home and complete an assignment to go with it. You go to class and do a group assignment that covers the same material. She goes very in-depth with the material, sometimes making it more confusing than easier to understand.

You have to put in the time. If you don't put in the time and effort you will definitely not do well. I would average around 6 hours per week for her class to fully understand the concepts. She does a good job, but due to the amount of material there is a lot of topics you must know. But overall I think she does a wonderful job!

Organic Chemistry is a hard class, that's a given, no professor is going to make it easy. Dr. Sandberg presented the material in a funny and readable fashion and her TAs were an enormous help. That said, her exams are extremely difficult so be prepared to study study study.

I took Orgo 1 with Sandberg, and it was the most challenging class I had all year. The format involved watching lectures at home and completing an assignment based on them. In class, we worked on group assignments covering the same topics. She went very in-depth with the material, which sometimes made things more confusing rather than clearer.

Dr. K is hard because her tests can be very unforgiving. I learn in a different manner than typical life sciences classes, which made it difficult. However, it was very fun and interesting. It takes up a lot of time, and it's A LOT of memorization. Make sure you know how to learn and manage your time if you're going to take this class.

I hate her. PLEASE don't take orgo II with her, you WILL regret it unless you also had her for orgo I. We went into WAY more detail than necessary for everything, and the tests were so hard. I will say it prepared me well for biochemistry, I think if you're going to med school taking her would benefit you, but know it is insanely hard.

She is good and teaches the material well, but you have to be the perfect student in order to do well in her class. You have to truly UNDERSTAND the material. However, she is not forgiving and if you get sick and have to miss class she is not accommodating AT ALL. If you don't use organic in your major, I wouldn't take her.

Please do not take her if you didn't have Orgo 1 with her. I was used to the heavy homework load, so I managed. It's orgo so you really need to make sure you study. I did well on all exams and did a bit worse than usual on the final, it is cumulative, so it's a lot to remember. I recommend going over past topics constantly throughout the semester.

You will fight for your grade. I did not have her for orgo one but I have taken flipped classes before and honestly the work load wasn't the worst part. She claims she will give credit if things happen during your exam, she doesn't. Extra credit is extremely hard to get. Her final is cumulative and she doesn't round or curve.
