She teaches clearly.But she isn't an easy teacher.I go to every class on time but she still gives me 17.5point in attendance grade(full is 20) There are 10 quize and 10 class-respond.I do not know why the last quize she gives me 0.4 papers and two in-class essays.She will tell you the topic before the exam.I belive I could gotA- but she gives me B+

She is very passionate about writing and will do all she can to help students write to their full potential. 101 does not have much hw except for reading a few pages in the book and writing a rough draft and final draft for the 4 essays. There are short quizes which you will do fine on if you pay attention. midterm and final are in-class essays.

4-week summer class is very fast-paced, and if you miss more than 2 classes you will fall behind. You use the lit textbook a lot, but I only needed to skim the readings to get an A+. She gives EC. you learn important and fascinating things about ancient literature. She is fabulous at managing her class and the class discussions are stimulating.

I just got done taking the 8-week course online but she made it really feel like she was there with all the detailed feedback and tips she gave us. Quick grader too! KEEP UP WITH THE READINGS!!! She is SO enthusiastic & loud about the stories, and she makes it super fun and funny. Small easy group discussions daily and you share with the class. 2 essays which she helps you with in class so much, and 1 weekly assignment about what you read. She graded essays tougher this semester! Too many peer responses to your own work. This should be only between you and the professor. Sometimes, I didn't feel like I wanted to share with my peers or get their opinions. They were students and also learning just like I was.

I love Kaylee! I took her Eng 101 online class my first semester and it was great. Her online class is organized and easy to follow. You do mini quizzes, answer questions frm txtbook, and write essays for each "unit". Advice: She wants you to be really specific in your literary analysis so make sure you read the stories! Pretty easy class.

You turn in work every two weeks. It's not hard. Just read, do a chat room, take super easy quiz, write one page journal answering questions. Boom. There's like 2 papers. Bc its an online class I wasn't very immersed in the work, but that's what I get for taking online. She's nice, gives feedback. I think she's ok.

Professor Baucom is an interesting teacher, she is great when giving feedback and if you follow it your grade will increase. When it comes to tests they are pretty simple as long as you have read the work, you WILL need all of your books they are always used. The work is simple if you read, and the class is almost always fun and entertaining.

This professor is an awesome one, she does have some quizzes, but they're unpredictable so brace yourself, she has 4 essays and she'll help you correct your work. She does do extra credit so the writing center will be your best friend. She is prone to pointing out practically everything wrong with the paper, but as constructive criticism.

Best class I have ever enrolled in CSN. Extremely easy class as long as you read and keep up with the readings every week. This class is mostly philosophical and literary based. I highly recommend this professor. She keeps it super real.

Easy class, you have 2 weeks to turn in the assignments. Its 4 essays total, discussions, and 4 question quizzes. Super easy class easy to understand what is wanted and expected. She takes a little long to grade your final draft essays but overall its an easy class.

Had her for ENG223 too. She's a memorable and passionate professor, and she has limitless energy for literature. She's also a charitable grader typically, usually giving helpful advice to improve. What an amazing professor. Baucom gives amazing specific feedback, gives valuable sources, and acknowledges your work ethic, very motivating! All work is due every 2 weeks giving time to complete the assignments and essays. I never liked writing until I took Professor Baucom ENG 100, making me feel like a writer. 10/10 would retake the class.

By far the best outstanding professor I have ever had, she is so caring and inspiring yall take her she is one of the best professors at CSN.

Professor Baucom provided lots of feedback to help you write a better essay. There are only 4 essays throughout the 16 week course. There are also discussions and reading assignments every 2 weeks. She offers 2 points extra credit every 4 weeks, which is useful when you miss a few things on your essays. The work is very effective but very doable.

Professor Baucom is a great professor! Her lectures are very informative and she lays out a clear guideline for us to follow. Professor Baucom goes above & beyond for her students, and she caters to any question we may have. When she grades, she always gives constructive criticism and amazing feedback. Your only regret will be not taking her class!

Only 4 essays in the semester that are due every 2 weeks. Even though there are very few assignments, she still gives extra credit opportunities.

although attendance is not mandatory, in-class writing is worth 2 points every week - highly suggest u come to class because professor baucom led many valuable lectures to take into future english courses and just life in general. essay topics are YOUR choice (personal narrative, evaluation, persuasive and argument)

favorite prof. took 101 hybrid class spring. provides all reading material. 4 essays for entire semester. no mid/finals. 4 weeks to do each essay. couple of extra credits. hilarious, has high energy. gives really good feedback and wants to help you out if you ever have any questions. would definitely take her class again. gonna take her 102 class

I love Professor Baucom. I took her ENG 100 class for Spring 2022. Her grading is clear and she gives a lot of great feedback on assignments. I highly recommend her. She is one of the best professor at CSN. I love that she also sends out reminders when assignments are due which I am thankful for. TAKE HER CLASS you will not be disappointed.

Professor Baucom was very present in my remote learning class and provided great feedback on discussions and essays. The resources she provided to explain the assignments and how to revise were extremely helpful as well. I definitely recommend her class and would take another of her classes if given the opportunity.

Amazing professor. I did a summer course which consisted of one discussion per week, and 4 major essays with clear criteria. She gives great feedback, offers regular extra credit, and incredibly helpful. I would take her classes again.

She is not a hard grader, doesn't make you waste your time with textbooks, and she actually teaches you new stuff. She is helpful and really engages with her students. PLEASE TAKE HER CLASS!

If you need to take an Eng101 class this is the one!This was my 2nd eng101 class at csn, i failed my first one because the prof was actually horrible but Professor Baucom was wonderful! She cares and gives good feedback! She responds to messages in a timely manner. There are 4 essays the entire semester, no hw, few discussions! Highly recommend!

Exellent in person lecture class. Would take her for every single english course if possible. Her absolute mastery and love for the english language is at the forfront of every lecture. Regardless of wanting to major in english she will show you how to love writing.

Professor Baucom definitely takes the time to give good feedback. I have a math degree so English courses are always a dread to me. However, this class is very doable and the topics for the discussion posts help us with our essay writing. There are 4 essays and discussion posts every two weeks. We turn in a rough draft then a final draft.

Hands down the best professor I've ever had! Her class is very easy, she gives back good detailed feedback, and she also gives out extra credit. Also, no midterms & no textbook!! Not only is she a great informative prof, but she's super funny and caring. She always makes lectures so fun and comfortable bc she's so bubbly and funny!!

She was an amazing teacher! I was scared for college English but she made it so clear and doable. Her energy is so inspiring and made me want to write and go to class. She only had 4 essays, 3-4 pages through the semester. Lectures were about the essays and they were so useful for the essays. Sweet woman with so much enthusiasm.

Took her spring 23 and she was amazing. Yes, her personality is like a firework for first thing in the morning but she is so passionate about writing and all english subjects, it's refreshing to have a teacher who truly loves what they do. She'll make jokes that r kinda cringey at times, but still fake laugh because she's really trying, you know?

Honestly super light. I took it online, and I'm a junior in high school. You have to do a rough draft on Sunday night, and then the final draft is due the next week, only like 4 essays total. I would've gotten an easy A but my computer was bugging and didn't turn in one of my final drafts so my grade went down a ton (97 to a 75) just be on time.

Best english 101 class you could take. There is only 4 essays during the semester and no final exam. The rubrics for the essays were very straight forward and easy to comprehend. Her lectures were super entertaining and fun. She's such a great professor and truly cares about her student. I definitely recommend taking her class.

She gave good feedback on writing. You write 4 essays and for each one you do a rough draft. She gives you resources and PowerPoints to help. She lets you pick the topics so you can write about what you like as long as it fits criteria. You also do discussions. Easy class if you do the work and try to improve.

She has been by far one of the best professors I have had. Took English 101 during the summer. It was very manageable and such an easy A. First day we went over what we were learning, second day we did a rough draft, third day our final rough draft, and last day was our final with a quiz. 4 weeks long. Extra credit was also offered. SHES THE BEST!
