Though he seems to have the student's interest in mind, he is very confusing and inconsistent. He lacks proper communication skills and changes his mind about assignments and due dates frequently. He is very bad at answering questions and explaining why the answers are correct. Often times office hours are more confusing than helpful at all.
This class was hard to keep track of because his due dates were always changing. The class was not organized well at all. Out of the at least 4 times I attempted to email him I never got a response. I found that I got more confused during lectures so I just read the textbook and got more out of that.
This professor means well but his class is very disorganized. Assignment due dates frequently change and he isn't very accessible outside of lecture. His lectures get a little preachy and he tends to go off topic a lot. The only reason I survived this class was that I read the textbook and I snuck into another professor's lecture.
While Dr. Adepoju is a nice person, he is not a great professor. He tries to be flexible, but that makes the class super unorganized and confusing. Though it got better as the semester went on, he sometimes taught things beyond the course level (which did not appear on exams, making confusions only) and even mistaught some easy concepts.
His lecture is so unorganized and scattered. I recommend you not to go to class saving time to study yourself. that is way better option for the exam. H.W. are usually from other's college's H.W.. you might be able to find them out easily for sure.
Kazeem is intelligent and loves stats, but he lacks all the communication skills necessary to be an adequate teacher. He was very disorganized and changed deadlines and assignments often. He obvi didn't read the syllabus, because a student had to point out what items we could use on the final. Textbook wouldn't have been used had he actually taught
Although it is true that Kazeem is fairly unorganized, his lectures more than make up for this. Kazeem is by far the most caring professor I have ever had. His lectures are incredibly engaging and useful. He is incredibly friendly and caring. It is obvious that he loves teaching. Despite the reviews, I encourage anyone to take a class with Kazeem.
really good professor, esay test
Kazeem is very caring, but that's about it for this class. Lectures are scatter-brained. The TA (Oh-Ran) is awful and doesn't seem like she know anything. Homework is easy. Tests are group tests because a lot of people cheated on the first one.
Kazeem is a great teacher! It honestly is sad to see so many people say negative things about him. He honestly cares about his students and is willing to help you understand the course material. His lecture is very helpful but you have to pay attention to understand what is taught. He is open to feedback and incorporates it in his teaching style.
Kazeem was my favorite professor at the U. His lectures are inspiring and I genuinely enjoyed going to class because he is enthusiastic about his field and teaching. There were times where I struggled to keep up with my classes, and Kazeem worked with me to help me succeed.
Kazeem is one of the kindest professors I have ever had. He loves statistics and teaching and it shows. He is always happy to answer questions and is extremely motivating. His passion for his field is inspiring.
My favorite professor at the U. You can tell he cares about all his students, loves teaching, and loves statistics. I've never seen a more caring, kind, funny, and sweet professor at the U. You also learn a lot as he does most of his work on the board and is open to questions. HWs and Tests are difficult, but I would still take his class again.
Great person to be taught statistics by. He clearly has a passion for statistics and inspiring students in general.
Good sense of humor, very willing to help with questions, and entertaining lectures. He also gave little motivational speeches before each exam, which was neat.
Professor Adepoju was great! The tests were very easy and a note sheet was given. He also would pretty much tell us everything that would be on the exam before. He also was very funny and enthusiastic. He would give us motivational speeches before every exam.
Kazeem is by far the most passionate professor I have ever had. He is very kind, funny, and accommodating which makes his lectures entertaining. As for learning from him, he is hard to follow. He speeds through his proofs and derivations and doesn't quite answer questions fully when asked. It's difficult to separate what matters and what doesn't
He really cares about students. I feel like he wants everyone in our course to get an A (but actually only 2/3 of students get at least A-). Though his accent is a little bit strange, that does not matter. Will take his course again if I have chances.
His accent is little bit strange for me. But his exam and homework is easy. His lecture slides and materials is usefully and strongly related to the exam. Beside the office hour, student can also text him with the questions/concerns. He love to help students with their questions.
He is one of the most disorganized professors I've ever had. Gives out a detailed syllabus but then doesn't follow it all, making it very confusing to figure out when things are due. Gives practice exams, but answer keys don't match the exams. Takes a while to respond to e-mails. Class shouldn't be hard, but he makes it stressful.
He is easily the most disorganized and unprofessional instructor I have ever had. He blatantly disregards the course syllabus, as if he he never even looked at it! His lectures are scatterbrained and make straightforward topics confusing. The lecture slides are a total mess, and he frequently wastes time going on pointless tangents.
I do admit that at the begging of the semester my rating would be lower but he really did want you to do well in his class. He ended up grading a lot of things so you would get a better grade and curved really hard at the end of the semester. If you actually pay attention in his lectures you will learn something.
Kazeem was an okay teacher before COVID-19, but after COVID-19, he would answer emails saying stuff was on the canvas page when it wasn't. Lecture slides stopped being uploaded at the beginning of April. He began grading tougher, with no explanation after COVID-19. He is not helpful even if he says he is, DO NOT RECOMMEND!
The curriculum of this class, in theory, shouldn't have been that hard, but he didn't teach barely any of the material well. He stopped uploading old lecture slides halfway through the semester, and never replied to my emails. Things were on the midterms and finals that he never taught, and I learned more from the internet throughout the semester
Kazeem is an overall really nice person who really cares about his teaching and wants his students to succeed. However, he lacks key communication and organizational skills which can make the class pretty difficult even though the content is not very challenging.
Kazeem Adepoju is sweet and has good intentions, and he is an okay lecturer. The exams were mostly fair, but students have to work super hard on the homework because they are both textbook problems and R problems and are graded strictly. Otherwise, this class was mostly manageable.
Professor Adepoju is the most helpful professor I have ever met. He really wants his students to succeed. Additionally he is very flexible and willing to go over concepts again if you are stuck. His grading is also fairly easy and straightforward. By far, my favorite professor at UMN.
Kazeem may not be everyone's cup of tea. He can be disorganized, tangential, and his accent may obscure his lectures to some, but I found him pretty good. The class was easy, he was likable, and though I attended every class, if you just show up to review lectures before exams, you'll do just fine. Also, he gives out extra credit in lectures.
The lectures were quite lengthy (2 hours a day), though that might just be due to it being a summer course. Kazeem gave everyone extra credit for getting through the course online. Some things weren't always clearly communicated in regards to assignments or exams. My group project was easy, in part since my partners did most of the work.
Kazeem is a great person. Very nice to his students and cares about everyone doing well. Ocassionally, goes on little rants about how much he loves when we ask questions and those moments are great. But he gets very pedantic and tangential in his explanations and really makes things unnecessarily abstractive. But he's not IMPOSSIBLE to understand.
Kazeem is a great dude, he hands out extra credit like candy. No real complaints other than that he can get off topic sometimes.
Dr. Adepoju is very kind and caring. Class content is very easy to the point where lectures are optional. His lecture slides were not always the most helpful, I found reading the textbook helped. Hands out lots of extra credit during lecture. Exams were easy and fair.
Class material was pretty easy. Slides not always the best, textbook is very useful sometimes. Homeworks were straightforward and not a challenge, but good practice. Exams were very fair and not bad. Dr Adepoju gives out tons of extra credit during lecture. Great guy, chill attitude, genuinely caring wants his students to succeed. Gonna miss him
Great professor, tries his best for students to succeed.
Ya'll I dropped out of the class just in time. The professor is a nice guy but doesn't try to put any effort into the students. You can email him 10 times and he still wouldn't know your name. I think he is a great person but a very bad teacher. R Studio should be an easy concept but the teaching style made it really hard. Good luck y'all
His most of his slides were pretty helpful. He explains basic concepts well. He is pretty chaotic sometimes but was very flexible for exams and assignments. Tons of extra credit during lectures. Overall pretty easy class.
He's really nice but his lecture slides (at least at the beginning of the course, they're better now) were too cluttered to be useful and I ended up just skipping lecture and reading the textbook. The canvas site is really hard to navigate. Things arent in places that make sense and it's hard to find things like practice exams.
I want SO badly to give Dr. Kazeem a 5/5. He's a sweet guy who genuinely cares about his students, but I just think that online classes have screwed him over. He's very disorganized, and the practical assignment has unclear grading criteria (and it's genuinely impossible to meet the rubric requirements). He also isn't great at responding to emails.
The contents of this class are very easy. It consisted of linear regression, anova, and logistic regression. The professor is very sweet and tries his best, but he is slightly disorganized. However, It's very easy to just learn the material by yourself and so you don't really need to pay attention during lecture
Kazeem is a great person, he cares about you. I cannot say he's a great professor. He tries very hard but the way the class is taught and the labs (by TA) are taught are very different so is the material. Kazeem needs more help TA wise. He is very late to respond and fulfill student needs. It felt like Kazeem checked his RMP more than his emails.
It is not our jobs to teach ourselves like the other reviews and that is what it felt like the entire semester. The class was disorganized and being online made the class 1000 times more challenging. Kazeem cares so much and it really sucks having to say this. There was no procession and the tests were so much harder than what we were taught.
Dr. Kazeem is sweet and an amazing professor. I wish the U had many professors like him. Will miss him for sure.
This was the worst, most disorganized course I have ever taken. Emails were not returned or followed up on half the time, broken quiz questions weren't fixed or clarified. Dr. Adepoju very clearly couldn't use canvas. The entire course was added to one group for 3 weeks and expected to submit assignments together, grading standards were unclear.
I did this class for Spring of 2021 and Dr. Kazeem was one of the most considerate people when it came to online classes. Simply unmatched with his kindness. Concepts might've been hard but a little extra effort and office hour visits should def do the trick. The only unfortunate outcome is knowing I won't have him for my future stats classes.
He is so, so bad when it comes to exams. There's no proofreading to the point where some multiple choice questions have an X next to the correct answer and some questions have no correct answer. There's no clear instruction on what we're allowed to use too, which can leave you crippled in case you didn't bring a PC or distribution table.
Nice guy, but completely inaccessible. Expect a solid 5 business days for your concerns to be addressed. Lectures are alright, cant say he added much value to what already was on the slides.
Professor Adepoju is seriously a great guy and truly cares for his students. However, he is also very scatterbrained and made straightforward topics very complicated. Assignment grades averaged C/D's. You will need to put in extra work to get a good grade. Super nice guy, not a good teacher. Also, VERY hard to access outside of class.
Professor was extremely kind and flexible. He gave lots of opportunities for extra credit. However, the class was sometimes messy and assignments were unclear. Don't take his class if you aren't willing to take time to clear these things up. The textbook wasn't used at all.
Professor Adepoju was very sweet and always willing to help. Many students found his lectures super confusing and messy. The textbook was optional, but I relied on it to understand what was going on and how to do practice problems. This class definitely shouldn't have been as hard as it was. He is a very easy grader though. Very few extra credit.
I enjoyed Kazeem's lectures. You can tell he is passionate about the material and cares about his students' success. He's an energetic lecturer and very approachable. He's was sometimes hard to reach by email, but I was able to talk to him after class, and he gave the class his phone number to call him. He was pretty flexible and a fair grader.
This is the first time I've rated a professor so early into the semester because he has been the WORST professor I've had the displeasure of having. The level of instruction and guidance is beyond pathetic, homework is graded harshly despite him not knowing how to teach, and the labs are off pace. Expect to be frustrated and miserable having him.
Mr. Adepoju is an awesome prof! He has very clear grading criteria. Homework clearly prepares you for exams. There are pretty much no surprises. Your level of study will show in the exams. Don't listen to the jerks down below. This prof is S-tier. His accent is not a problem since you can clearly tell what he is saying by what he is doing.
I am so surprise that some jerks are putting down this professor. Professor Adepoju is the best professor I have ever had in my college years. Professor Adepoju is so inspirational. He even gives extra credit during class time which I like. I am loving this class so far and I am looking forward to learn more from him.
This is the best professor I have ever had.
Usually this class used to be hard for me but professor Adepoju had made it better for me.
Good so far
Love this class
Professor Adepoju is a very kind person who really cares for his students. He grades easily, but his lectures are impossible to understand as he explains things in a lengthy and complicated way. He is a very nice guy, not a good teacher at all. Also, it is very difficult to get ahold of him outside of class.
Dr Kazeem is my favorite teacher at the U of M. I love how he checks during class to make sure we understand his lectures. I also like how he gives us extra credit. So far I am loving this class.
Professor Kazeem is one of the inspiring professors at UMN ,He teaches well and motivate students by giving extra credits. You will not regret taking his class.
I've never seen such a disparity in the kindness and respect a teacher gives and the quality of their teaching. His lectures were...disorganized, and labs didn't always match up which made homework a head-scratcher sometimes. It's easy to get an A, but it's hard for me to rate his teaching well despite him always trying his best.
This rating is a hard one. On one hand, Dr. Adepoju's lectures can be a bit unorganized. On the other hand, he is one of the most kind and inspirational professors that I've ever had. He has a moderate accent but I found it to be no issue. Getting an A isn't difficult, and extra credit opportunities were offered. He really cares about his students.
He is a kindhearted professor and very passionate about teaching. He motivates students with extra credit points which go a long way.
Professor Kazeem is an amazing and a great teacher. He cares much about his students
Kazeem's humor and enthusiasm in class deeply interested me in studying statistics. I've always been inspired by what Kazeem said about "treating statistics class as a party", which I always think of whenever I encounter difficult knowledge points and restart to overcome it. Great professor.
He is a very friendly person and motivate students a lot.
Yes, you are right I enjoyed his class when I took some years back.
While professor Adepoju is extremely friendly and passionate he may be one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I'm a graduate student and needed some extra statistics courses for my degree. His lectures are nearly impossible to follow, it feels like a waste of time attending these lectures. You are better off with the textbook for the course.
I found this professor amazing in all ramifications. I believe the last speaker was very harsh and may not be telling the real truth.
Professor Kazeem is one of the inspiring professors at UMN. I gained a lot attending his lectures.
Professor Kazeem is very outstanding when it comes to teaching and inspiring students for academic excellence.
Kazeem teaches so good and care more about his students. I will take his class again and again.
Kazeem was an AMAZING professor, probably one of the best I've ever had! It is extremely clear that he cares deeply about teaching, his students, and statistics. His passion for the subject made every class a statistical party! My one complaint is that sometimes he was hard to get ahold of outside of class, but other than that he is awesome.
Infectious energy in lecture, but he isn't the best at explaining topics. Exams also have just a bit of bullshittery to them, but the class overall was not bad.
This Professor stands out tall among professors I have had at UMN. He cares a lot for his students and took time to explain concepts.
Professor Kazeem is an hardworking instructor. I like the way he relates rigorous mathematical or statistical concept to real life situations.
Terrible professor. When explaining stuff, constantly repeats the question and irrelevant concepts without actually solving the question, then suddenly gives the answer. Spend 50 minutes explaining something that takes 10 minutes. Very bad accent, difficult to understand. Do not accept any sort of feedback either. Just don't take his class.
his passion is what sets him apart from the rest. super caring for students and thats what gets him 4. he was very tough to reach via email, and is pretty disorganized. i didnt learn the most but his flexibility and enjoyment is something why he needs to stay.
The last respondent may have a personal issue with the Professor in terms of the accent, but as for me Professor Kazeem remain the best Professor in terms of explaining concepts. In addition, he cares more about his students.
I was highly surprised about the comment of a student complaining about the accent of the erudite Professor. and the that he does not explain concept, what does he always do on the board then? This Professor normally took his time and efforts to explain very difficult concept. He also make sure he records and share lecture's recording.
Nice guy, full of enthusiasm, and gives extra credit to students who answer questions in class. It teaches well at 3000level and below, but not so well at 4051. The difficulty of the exam is average, it is not easy to get an A, but it is easy to get a B+ or A-. If you want to get easy A, don't use him at 4051, try to take him at 3000level.
Kazeem is an excellent and very caring Professor out there. He cares so much about his students. You will not regret having him.
This Professor teaches nicely, even though the exams are a little bit technical, but the practice questions before exam helped me a lot.
Lectures are pretty important and extra credit is offered for students who participate. Exams are okay, he usually tells students what will be on them during the review sessions. Very passionate and caring teacher, always encouraged students to ask questions. He will repeat "We live in a stochastic world" a lot. Overall great person and teacher.
Professor Kazeem is incredibly passionate and exceptional in teaching statistics, undoubtedly the best professor I've ever had.
Professor Kazeem's passion and excellence in teaching statistics make him one of my favorites professors around.
Professor Kazeem prioritizes students and consistently seeks the best for them through excellent lecture delivery. I thoroughly enjoyed his class.
Incredibly passionate about statistics, student's experience, and teaching as a whole--and it shows. Lectures are a nice blend of practical examples and clearly explained concepts. Lectures help students really understand statistics; I not once had to self-teach. Best professor out there. I can't think of even one bad thing about him.
he is very engaging and always wants us to ask quesitons. he wants to make sure we truly understand what he is teaching and always has time for questions and encourages them. he did get pretty fast paced near the end of the semester tho. he also gives extra credit for answering questions and asking them, and is really lenient on makeups and exams.
this prof is super good at teaching &&& he's hawt which can be a lil distracting
this was so hard
Kazeem is an extremely passionate and lively instructor. He never refuses any questions, in fact, he encourages you to ask questions. He talks after class and answers students questions, and has a reasonable office hour schedule. I would definitely take him again. He's one of the best statistic professors I've taken at this school if not the best.
Literally saved my college career. This isn't hyperbole or sarcasm. I genuinely can't say thank you enough.
Professor Adepoju is enthusiastic and qualified, but his accent and confusing lectures make this class unenjoyable. The main issue I had was his lack of communication. He is literally impossible to reach via email and his office hours are inconvenient to attend. This actual content of this course is very easy and the homework was graded leniently.
Kazeem is a highly passionate and energetic professor who explains complex statistical concepts with clarity. I'm looking forward to having him as a professor again!
In my experience, Professor Kazeem is the most exceptional professor I've had throughout my college career. He takes the time to thoroughly explain concepts, and as long as you're punctual to his class, you'll gain a lot from his teaching.
I absolutely love Professor Kazeem's approach to teaching! He brings so much energy to the classroom and explains complex statistical methods in a way that makes sense. His passion for the subject is contagious, and he's always willing to help.
I've never had a professor as engaging as Professor Kazeem. His energy makes learning Statistics enjoyable, and his clear explanations help me understand even the most complicated material. He's truly passionate about helping students succeed.
I've never had a professor as engaging as Kazeem. His energy makes learning Statistics enjoyable, and his clear explanations help me understand even the most complicated material. He's truly passionate about helping students succeed
Has a thick accent but if you can get past that you should be just fine
Kazeem had super clear lectures and told you exactly what you need to know for exams. There are two midterms, and you get a full sheet of paper for the front and back of notes. For the final, you get two. He offered makeup midterms to boost your grade and gave extra credit for answering questions in class. Thick accent, but made stats easy.
This man is amazing. He truly cares for his students and does what he can to help them succeed. He gives out extra credit for answering questions throughout the class, walks students through what each question holds on exams, and even allows retakes on exams if overall student performance is poor. Lecture-heavy class, but everything is recorded.
I am a freshman taking this class, all I have to say is that Kazeem gave me confidence to try and be the best. This class depends on 3 tests basically so as long as you ask questions in class about topics you dont understand everything will be fine in the end. He also gave out a couple extra credit points for answering questions in class.
He was a super good professor and made stats easy. He offered easy makeup exams when the averages were low, and outlined which content would be on each question of the exam. Overall super clear teacher, recorded lectures, and explained and taught content very well. He is bad at emails, expect to follow up many times for a response.
Thick accent to get used to but very nice
Dr. Adepoju is an understanding & passionate teacher. His accent makes it a bit hard for me to lock in (I have short attention span though) but I was still able to learn and do my work. < That would be my only reason for the 4 instead of a 5. He tells you the topics on the final and midterms which is really nice.
Kazeem just talks about a lot of random stuff a lot. He is clearly very passionate, but what he says often doesn't really make sense or seem to connect to statistics. Can be hard to understand
Kazeem is so amazing in teaching this course. His ability to relate statistical concepts to reality is stunning.
Kazeem is a passionate professor who makes stats engaging. The lectures are informative, but can get a bit rambling at times. Use unstuck ai and the free textbook to prep - that combo worked well for me.
oh my goooooooooooooooood
The Professor teaches well and I benefited from his teachings, given a recap reviewing what has been done previously before starting a new topic helps a lot.
The way he teaches is quite disorganized, and I struggle to gain meaningful knowledge from his class.
Kazeem is honestly a great professor and genuinely wants to ensure that everyone in his class passes. Kazeem provides materials to help you ace the exams. The weekly Homework assignments are also relatively easy. If your thinking about taking stats, I definitely recommend you take it with him!
Kazeem fakes his rate my professor reviews, but absolutely does not need to lol
Kazeem is one of the most passionate Professors in UMN. He wants his students to succeed. He likes emphasizing the clause to the students “ You pay for the service, please ask questions “.
Really nice guy, kind of fun to listen to. This class totally brutalized me and I was super depressed when I took it, so I would have failed had he not let me pass on a technicality. Having said that, I still don't feel that content was explained very clearly
Dr. Adepoju is a very kind and supportive professor. He provides thorough reviews before exams, and the homework is straightforward. Grading is generous, and the class is manageable if you keep up.
I enjoyed taking class with Dr. Adepoju, he always made sure that his students succeeded and ensured that they never left class confused. He is exceptional at explaining abstract, difficult concepts. Additionally, he was easy to reach out of class via his office hours and he was quite flexible with students if any emergency medical or not came up.
Good lecture slides, but Prof was very under prepared for the final. He recycled an older exam, which was riddled with out of syllabus material (odd-functions?) and typos. He interrupted the final 5 times to correct a typo or seating arrangement. The final was NOT doable in 1 hour. Besides that, he is a good teacher, always willing to help.
Kazeem was a really hard professor and never answered questions well
Kazeem teaches good and like relating complex concepts into real life thereby simplifies learning process.
He explains the concepts very clearly and demonstrates genuine passion for the subject. He is also flexible with deadlines and fair in his grading
kazeem is very good at what he does, just give him a chance. his motivational speeches set him apart from any other professor at the u.
He is very good at giving advice and very inspirational and giving a lot of chances to make up your grade.
goated professor! if you see that he's teaching the class you need to take, just know your prayers have been answered. he has clear lecture slides and offers extra credit in lecture!
What I loved mostly was that he gave us practice exams that were very similar to our actual tests and that helped me study and eased my anxiety. Lectures were okay, I didn't really pay attention to lectures. He was a pretty nice dude and gave us some inspirational quotes.
