Best teacher that I have ever had including high school, saddleback, and the university. He is very smart and knowlegeable. His lectures are clear and interesting. He is an interesting guy and the class is very intriguing. Math was boring until this.

I took him in the summer and got a B. That says something. He basically tells you what will be on the test and gives great notes. Take him! He knows what he's doing.

This guy is very clear at delivering math to the students. He gives great advice, does tons of problems, will help you any way he can. You just have to put in the work. Best teacher I've had.

This is the sort of professor that holds your hand from point a to point b to ensure you can get to c without killing yourself. If your looking for little homework (he collects it)and a class that finishes early, this is NOT the teacher for you.

He is the best teacher. he loves what he does, and enjoy teaching and talking about history of the mathematicians. he is very clear, very very organized and neat. not an easy teacher, but he doesn't surprise you, you'd know what's gonna be on the test.

Kaz is a super teacher but if you are not good at taking math tests (No Scantron)this is not the class for you. He does give you points for homework but it is not a huge amount of points so wont make a huge difference in your grade if you complete all of it. Had to drop class.

very serious class. no student interaction, that means 1 hour and 15 mins of math lecture. if you can concentrate that long, you will learn. he is good at explaining, always answers questions, gives back tests quickly.

Although I got a C in the class but I suggest you take him.He's so knowledgeable that he sometimes goes further in the subject he's teaching.He's by far the most incredible math teacher I have ever had & I will never forget his awesome ability to teach & draw perfect circles!!!

Kaz is the man, He knows his math like kelly slater knows waves. He will most definitely take time out of his schedule to help anyone. Lectures can be monotonous, take a red bull! Overall he is great if you want to learn the material.

What I needed, he collects homework so you stay on track and the problems in the homework and reviews are EXACTLY what is on the test. He'll help you out, plus he makes up extra credit assignments whenever something interesting comes into his head. He really loves this stuff and gets everyone interested. Students were more involved than a PE class

Prepared me for the rigors of Stats...a wonderful professor. A clear and commanding voice explains everything you would ever want to know about the lessons. Do the work and ask questions...This was my one class that didn't transfer, but it was with the best professor. He's the reason I eventually passed Stats and got into UCI.

Its hard to find such a good professor. I cant tell you how good he is in words. Learning math sucks, his illustrations are so perfect his hand could be my computers printer. If you take him you may still hate math, but you will leave knowing the material, period.

amazing teacher. i came into this class honestly knowing everything he was talking about, but if i didnt already know the stuff, his ways of teaching would have made everything clear. honestly, his lessons are color coordinated to help u see what he did, and he really wants u to understand what he is talking about. great great great!!!

Teaches as if you are totally clueless about the subject. Review if you have taken Algebra 1 and 2 in HS. Tests are not too hard if you know the material. No midterm or final just tests. Homework helps determine grade if you are borderline. Okay teacher but does not have decent office hours.

Kaz is a very thorough teacher and very clear. He's definitely worth taking, I learned a lot and got an A. Quizzes every other day and tests directly reflect the quizzes. He goes over homework problems if you have questions and he makes sure you understand the material before moving on.

Wonderful teacher! He actually helped me like math a lot, because his lectures are explained thoroughly and gives real life examples and can draw out pictures to mathematical problems. Kaz loves Math! He is very dedicated to it. This is a great class for anyone who shares his love of numbers, who excels at Math and who wants a challenge. If you struggle with Math, you may find him too fast-paced. Although he's very approachable and tutors during office hours, class discussion is limited. He keeps his back to the class.

He is honestly the best teacher, i have trouble with math and i did fairly well in his class. he explains mathin a very easy to grasp way. he gives great review worksheets before tests, and is very helpful. i absolutly loved him! i wish i could take him again :(

Kaz Tarui is the best math teacher I have ever had. His teaching inspired me to become a math major where before I had no interest in it whatsoever. If you stay caught up with the homework week by week and pay attention during lecture you will pass the class.

Professor Kaz is an amazing math teacher...goes over everything in detail and step by step, but you have to go to class,do the homework and if your having trouble go to LAP they are brilliant in there. A little hint if you have a question don't wait for him to call on you just yell out his name "KAZ!" and he will answer..

I have tremendous respect for Mr. Tarui. He loves math and is very good at teaching it. I failed his first test and for most of the class had a D, I went and talked to him, got extra help, and got an A on the final. Even though I should have gotten a C, he gave me a B because he knew I studied my butt off. Take his class!

I personally hate and try to avoid taking math, but he is one of the best math teachers i have ever had. He always ends the class with a few problems u have to finish and as soon as u r done u can leave. The person below must have been slow at figuring out those problems, which r never hard. If u take notes and stay awake in class u will do fine.

AWESOME PROFESSOR. Take this professor if your are not good in Math, I assure you that you will like math after taking his class. He'll give you step by step process to solve the problem, and you won't get lost. His examples are very clear, and his practice tests are similar to the actual test. He is very patient. I took his summer class and it was awesome. I am sooo horrible at math & have the attention span of a two-year-old but he made it seem easy ! He is really nice, too.

I loathe math. I absolutely hate it. That was before Prof "Kaz" Tarui. He's out of this world. I mean it. I am understanding every concept and am well on my way to College Algebra. After every lesson he gives a little 3 question quiz and has a 5 question quiz each Friday. 5 exams total and he passes out sample exams before each one. TAKE HIM! :)

Kaz is an awesome professor. If you like Math or you don't get it, Kaz is the guy. He is helpful and can instruct at a level that works for all. I pulled an A in his Math 253 course and Math is not my strong suit. Keep in mind, you will need to do work however and it really pays off to do the assigned homework.

This teacher is very good. He is clear, straight forward and very helpful. You learn a lot of concepts and he reintroduces the subject of math to so many people who did not have such a good experience with math in previous years. Whoever isn't in this class is really missing out

There are many "Tarui Groupies." Pictures can be useful (outside of French math). That being said, he may be misplaced; he's not a mathematician, philosopher, or physicist -- but a graphic artist. If you're trying to be challenged, his classes may fall short. If you're an average student at Saddleback seeking an "A," he'll give clear expectations.

Helpful, patient and clear, assignments and other deadlines are organized systematically. If you want higher than a C in this course, I suggest studying for every test as if they were the final exam.

Pay attention in class, take good notes, do the hw, study for the tests, and you should be fine. Overall, Professor Tarui is a nice guy. Sometimes he moves quickly though, so be sure to ask for help if you're confused.

Great teacher and one of the easiest classes I've ever had; as long as you pay attention and study, you should be able to get an A. Those that state his class isn't easy are probably the students who didn't put that much of an effort to study and/or pay attention. He's a nice guy and willing to help if you have any questions.

Great professor! He puts a great deal of effort into making all of the material understandable and he is always VERY willing to help. He takes time to review homework in class which is very helpful. Not a huge amount of homework but enough to make sure you stick to it. Exams are not easy but pay attention and you'll pass. Attendance is important!

Seriously the BEST MATH TEACHER! I always struggled with math and i passed his class with an A and got an A on all my test! His study guides are really helpful almost identical to the test just different numbers! if math is not your subject take him! He is very helpful and goes into detail to make sure his students understand.
