I took Linwood over the summer and being his first semester at UNCC he was AWESOME! His class was straight forward, if you go to class you will do good. He goes over similar homework problems in class so you are given the opportunity to really learn the material with practice. He truly does care that his students learn and succeed.

He's the most caring teacher I've ever had at UNCC. He emails non-stop and even provides his own personal phone number in case you can't reach him. He emails atleast once a day to remind you of homework, quizzes, exams, etc. The conceptual questions on his exams are a little hard and you definitely have to study for his exams. Great teacher overall

His teaching style is a little off however he has seemed to be the best acct professor at UNCC. Attendance isn't mandatory and I personally did not like his teaching style. I don't go to class instead teach myself out of the book and then go to SI sessions. I have a 96 in the class because he curves all of his tests by almost 10 points!!!!

He's a mix of Flanders from the Simpsons and Marty Huggins from The Campaign. Curves. Every. Test. nuff said

Genuinely wants everyone to do well. Most exams are difficult but if you study and ask questions you will do really well. Most likely getting an A. The curves on the tests help A LOT. Definitely take him over any other accounting teacher.

He's a good professor and all but he speeds through the material and gets off track often. If you take him you will have to either read the book or learn the material on your own. He just reads straight from the powerpoint and hardly ever explains things, other than when he goes over the homework in class.

Kearney is a very nice and caring man. However, he's not the best teacher. I think that his class lacks in-class examples and problems that you can do together. He pretty much just reads the slides and tells you the answers to the problems, but doesn't really do a good job teaching you how to find the answer yourself.

Professor Kearney is a great professor. He is truly caring about his students. He referred to us so many times as his children. If you ever need help, you can always email him or call him. He is working here for you! Go to the tutoring sessions and the lectures and you will not fail!

Professor Kearney is a great man that makes accounting as easy as he possibly can. He does everything he can do to help you and I guarantee he cares more about his students than 99% of other professors. I am taking him again next semester for ACCT 2122. Bottom line, you can't do much better than him for an accounting professor.

Kearney is a great professor and he does care about the students. Go to class everyday and read the book and you will do fine in the class. ACCT 2121 is tough as it is already but Prof. Kearney does the best he can to make it simple for the students.

Highly recommend him for ACCT 1 and 2. He really cares about his students and wants to see them do good. Assigns tons of HW but it is to make sure you learn the material. Attendance is NOT required but if you skip, you will not understand the material. 3 tests and a final plus open note quizzes for each chapter.

He is the nicest teacher or professor I've encountered up to this point. Including kindergarten to 12th grades and now college. I swear this man would give up a kidney for one of his students if he had to. even if you don't like his teaching style, his generosity makes it enough to take him

I took his course after getting a D in the class with a different professor. from my experience, he is by far the best choice at UNCC!!

By far one of the most caring professors I have had. Accounting is a challenging subject but do the practice tests and really study the material and you will do fine. He will always look for ways to help you and work with you in your favor.

The nicest professor at UNCC. I have never met a professor that cares more about his students. I didn't deserve to pass this class but thanks to him I actually did. He does poll everywhere in class for attendance and counts how many people are in class so you can't get attendance points if you don't actually go

Awesome professor. He does lecture pretty quickly and goes over slides fast but he is the most helpful professor i have met so far. He is so easy to reach and cares about all his students. Homework is easy just got to do it there is a lot. Very prepared and makes class understandable and not dreadful.

My adopted grandpa. Calls us his kids. Sweetest man ever but not my learning style at all. Class is pointlessI only go for attendance. He goes super fast, doesnt teach it. Do the practice exams (PAL, SI, tutoring etc) basically teach yourself the material. Hes the best youre gonna get so.. try to get him. Taught us a bomb mac&cheese recipe tho

Probably the nicest and most caring teacher I've ever had. It's pretty useless to go to class though, outside of the attendance points, he just teaches so fast and skims over the material, meaning you have to do most of learning yourself. It's not too difficult of a class though.

He contacts his students to let them know if he is in his office or if he has to step out of it during his office hours. Understanding of those with disabilities. During major lectures, he sometimes starts a discussion on an accounting related topic. Goes over questions in textbook that are on or similar to those on the homework.

Being in this mans class is like being in a class with a family member. He cares so much about his students and exceeds in his efforts to be accessible. The course content is dry, but this teacher is a real gem. You need to do the work, read, and practice but be assured that this professor is rooting all the way for you in your college career.

Easy class and great teacher. If you do the homework and study for the quizzes and tests, you should be able to walk out with a good grade. Dr. Kearney allows for a relaxed class, as long as youre not talking when hes talking.

One of the kindest professors at UNCC. Takes breaks in the middle of lectures because it's accounting- the material is dry. Best option for any of the accounting classes. He does go over the slides pretty fast but like pretty much every class you take if you go home and study the material; you will do fine.

Super nice guy, average teacher. He will go through 45-90+ slides in one class period. He just sits through the slides, talks, and takes poll everywhere for attendance. Practice makes perfect with accounting so you have homework and quizzes on every chapter. But he does upload his homework solutions. Hes probably your best bet for acct 2122.

I am a person who never writes these things, however Professor Kearney is an exception. Never have I ever had a professor at UNCC that cares for the well being of his students as much as Professor Kearney. He gives great feedback, and is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Yes Accounting is difficult, however he wants you to learn.

I have taken ACCT 2121 and 2122 from Professor Kearney. The lectures are super boring which is to be expected with accounting. He is super sweet and cares so much about his students. He takes attendance for a grade so plan to be there! The material is hard but he posts homeworks worked out and will curve exams if need be. Would recommend him!

If you're a business student at UNC-Charlotte, you HAVE to take Kearney. He is amazing and as long as you apply yourself to his courses, you'll JUST fine. I got an A in his ACCT 2121 class but a B in 2122 because of personal reasons but he has been one of the most amazing and memorable professors I've had during my time as a student. MUST TAKE!

Alright, Mr. Linwood isn't a bad professor at all, I feel like I would of did better if the class was in person. If u dont pay attention in this class its goina suck when its Time to take the test. none of the test questions are online either. He uses lockdown web cam for test too.

I had the absolute best experience with Mr. Linwood, had him during a summer semester, and while it was fast-paced and tons of work (department things) Mr. Linwood taught me so well during the lectures the HW and tests were SUPER easy. Professor Kearney is by far one of the most helpful professors you can take. I am an accounting major and this was my first acct course, he went out of his way to answer additional questions and he gives tons of opportunities to boost your grade for extra credit. He can go a bit fast but just read the book before the lectures and it will make sense

Decent prof, was accommodating in the virtual semester. I got a low grade because of poor time management and overall laziness, so as long as you put in some work you'll be okay.

To admit, it was a pretty difficult class, as probably most accounting 2 classes are. I feel like I did learn things in this class, but my one piece of advice is to STUDY all material that is given including PAL resources. Overall good experience.

My boyfriend & his friends (who are alumni) all took and recommended Kearney. The test screwed me over (lockdown browser cam), and at the end of the semester I had a 68. I needed a C and he rounded up my final grade. He really cares about his students and if you show effort, he will round up, give extra credit, and do whatever he can to help you.

Linwood was a very kind professor and really cares about his students. If you have questions he will answer them to the best of his ability. I will say the exams are weighted VERY heavily and very hard. You definitely should study and show up to class. Not an easy class whatsoever, but Linwood is a pretty good professor!

Dr Kearney's ACCT 2121 is lecture heavy but he covers the topics well and goes over the homework's and sometimes quizzes. The tests have full study guides and are overall pretty similar to the questions in class. As long as you are attentive, there is no reason not to get an A in this class.

If you show up and pay attention to lectures you will do fine on test. Attendance is taken at random so it helps to show up. Extra credit quizzes are given sometimes unannounced. Homework is not difficult and he goes over it in class and provides solutions on canvas. He also provides plenty of study material including practice test and study guides

does not teach very well but expects you to know everything because it's "easy". tests make up 65% of the final grade. The class average on tests is 55%-65%. Fair teacher/ relatively understand but very sassy.

He was really excellent. He treats his students in a very fatherly way. If you take notes in class and pay attention to the lectures (and do the homeworks in class!) then you will be fine. I have read maybe 1 or 2 of the 15 chapters we have covered because I get everything I need to know from the lectures. He is patient and wants us to do well.

Mr. Linwood is a fantastic professor. He cares about his students and this is easily evident in how he structures his course. He has lectures available online so that you can review, catch-up, or learn ahead. He loves answering questions and loves feedback. It's very hard to fail this course. I teaches incredibly well, thoroughly, and at good pace.

Material is straightforward. His study guides & practice tests are very similar to the exam. He usually responds by the end of the night and genuinely wants his students to pass. Gives you participations points for showing up to class. He basically does homework with the class in class as well. Can come off rude sometimes but he is actually sweet

Linwood is literally the best professor/teacher I have ever had if you have the opportunity to take his class the definitely do it! He very much cares for his students as long as you show effort. The course material is very easy and the textbook is very helpful. Linwood also doe a very good job of explaining course content during class!

This professor knows how to teach! He offers his lectures online and they are almost identical to his in-person lectures. He also offers additional practice material. Preparing and studying for his class is made incredibly easy. He cares deeply about his students and it clearly shows.

One of the best professors I have had! He is very understanding and greatly cares about his students doing well in this class! He provides a lot of helpful material for this course. The exams are hard, but he provides study guides and video lectures that make the exams easier if you study them.

Lectures were sometimes boring as it was all based on powerpoint slides. But, he did go over the homework in class before it was due. Extra credit was easily obtained for a final project in this class and he was always available for office hours. Tests are on paper but all based on the homework and quizzes taken.

Genuinely the best professor I have had in my college career so far. Breaks down every single homework question, posts all lectures and study guides online, etc. My best advice is to just make flashcards based on the study guides he posts. His tests always match up with the study guide so as long as you're familiar with the concepts you'll be fine.

lectures can be boring, attendance is taken for credit, homework answers are posted online so you should get a 100% class can be hard if u dont like acct, what helped me is making a practice test of the EOC questions from the book and quizzes. also when he goes over a problem in class and says "good question" it will more than likely be on the test

Kearney is such a good professor, he always makes sure to allow questions if you're confused. Mostly a lecture class. There is a homework and quiz for each unit, but the homework is explained by him in class so you should always get 100. Quizzes are open notes and they are very useful for the tests. I enjoyed his class and would take it again.

The organization of the class is simply amazing. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Show up and do the work and you will do well. By far the best professor I've had at UNCC so far. He's the GOAT.

He is a really great professor and I highly recommend taking his class. His class is as difficult as you make it, but he gives you all the tools to succeed and learn. Overall, I enjoyed his class while also learning a lot. I am looking forward to taking Professor Kearney again over the summer for ACCT 2122.

Very fair class, overall if you show up you will get a passing grade. Plentiful of freebies and extra credit. Kearney is an accountant so he may seem cold but was very caring and accommodating.

One of my favorite professors at UNCC, I took accounting 2121 with him and then 2122 the first summer session. He is very nice and welcoming to all students. He puts the time in to make sure all of his students understand the material. He has a way with teaching that makes you want to come to class and engage in class as well. 10/10

Great Accounting Professor. He has a clear structure with how he grades. He's alway offering extra credit, and is always encouraging students to meet up with him during office hours if they have questions. Teaches this class very well.

Professor Kearney is a genuine and caring professor who wants his students to succeed and will go to great lengths to make sure he runs his class with integrity. He helped me fix a misaligned scantron on the final exam, and is happy to individually assist students. Lectures are a bit redundant, though, and cover little new ground.

Kearney is a great professor. Encourages questions and always puts the students first. Offers lots of extra credit, gives bonus points on every test and overall a nice guy. Gives answers to hw and quizzes in class. He runs through the slides pretty quickly, so I'd download them and take notes on the slides as he speaks, that helped me a lot.

The class is not that hard and the professor seems to actually care about the students. You have all the resources that you need to complete this class and he gives in depth reviews for the quizzes.

Had a great time with this Professor. Accounting II can be pretty difficult at times, but this Professor does a great job at telling you what to expect/study for on his exams. He is also great at communicating with his students which is something that most professors are not great at these days. Would definitely take again.

The best accounting professor at UNC Charlotte! He really cares about his students and is willing to do anything for his students to succeed in his class. When I took him, there were couple of really fun projects and tests that weren't that hard as long as you studied and attended all the lectures. On some tests, he would curve very generously.

Cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. Material is all online in the textbook, but he goes over every single homework and quiz prior to the due date, so that each student is able to fully grasp each concept. Very understanding, difficult subject but he will work with you if you need extra help!

This professor was pretty good. You learn most of the material through connect although I would definitely take his class again if I had the opportunity. You will get as much from the class as you put into it.

Native English speaker, genuinely cares about the class and well being of everyone. Goes over broad strokes, but requires some reading outside of class to not waste precious lecture time. Gives good life advice as well. Very down to earth person. Very difficult to fail this class if you show up and read at least a little bit of the textbook.
