I took the Humanities 60 class in the fall of 2015. I found the lectures and field trips fascinating. If you study the handouts the tests are easy. If you watch the films he assigns, those tests are easy too. Mr. Kensinger is a really interesting person who sees the world differently than most of us. It's truly an interesting view- JT

He makes it clear to you from the beginning - this is a Mature Adult Class. Not serious about your education, don't waste your time. Lots of "sense-making" and "thought-provoking" lectures. Participation and attendance matters (c'mon, it's once/wk!) He's a great teacher in terms of wanting you to succeed. Challenge your inner warrior!

I never thought an Architecture class would teach me so much about the history of California through buildings! I really enjoyed this class! I always looked forward to the lectures and field trips. Mr K was so helpful and friendly. He really loves what he does and wants you to pass, but you do have to put in the effort, trust me take the class!

Mr. K exceeded my expectations. It was my first college class in a few years so to say I was hesitant is an understatement. However, he helped me find an appreciation for the humanities through the films he assigned, the field trips and even the group projects. I would definitely take a class with him again.

A class first thing Saturday morning is a constant test on your academic goals. Professor Kensinger is well aware of this fact and makes the course material relevant and engaging. Homework volume is more than reasonable but should not be put off until the last minute. Editing a book was much tougher than I initially thought.

When I was having trouble with the class, I would ask him if I could meet with him, he would just change the subject and tell me to " Go study with other people" . Most of the class was having trouble with the subject so either way i couldnt get any help. The most important thing is that he is not specific on what he wanted us to study for quizes

I took Mr K for three classes: Creativity and the Community (HUMN60), California Architecture (ARCH14) and The Artful Life (HUMN50). In each of these classes, he opened my eyes to the unique ways humans make meaning out of their lives. You need to show up and respect the material (look at again and again). I changed my major because of his classes.

Mr. Kensinger is firm but fair. His goal is to have you "take, break and return" the lesson in his class. He wants to know and see you put your best effort in learning, obtaining and even sharing what you've learned. He appreciates participation and honest interest in what he is teaching. I recently took Mr. Kensinger, the class was nothing I expected. Before I write a review on his awesome personality I will say the following: 1. There are field trips so I would advise u to keep this in mind when you create your class schedule. 2. If you miss ANY classes u will fall behind. 3. Be ready to think outside the box. 4. Participate!!!

Tests are NOT multiple choice but if you attend class and pay attention, you'll be fine. He assigns movies to watch for homework, ensure you watch them as there is always a test on it, if you pay attention to the entire movie, the tests will be easy. There is no textbook but there are field trips so attend every class and every field trip!

I think it's comical that people think this guy is difficult. This is College and you have to be present in class instead of constantly texting, missing classes and not accomplishing simple assignments. If you miss class, ensure u get notes and assignments from a fellow student or u may screw yourself. he field trips take a few hours so plan ahead.

I personally believe that, Arch 14, could not be conducted by a more qualified candidate than Professor Kensinger. He is extremely knowledgeable yet open to debate and question, very approachable and a classic old school personality. Aside from the knowledge, it is the some of the best guilt-free/ out of the house/ away from the kids, reason.

Taking his Creativity & the Community class right now. Has lots of passion for what the subject, makes class interesting. Jokes with students. Only real complaint is that grades aren't posted online, can be hard to know how you're doing. I'm probably going to finish the class with a C, but I haven't been studying. There are quizzes every Tuesday.

This is a class that should NEVER leave the school. I've learned so much from my professor and classmates. I hope I will be in contact with all for the rest of my life.

WITH EDUCATION BECOMING MORE AND MORE A PRACTICE OF EMPTY MEMORIZATION AND REGURGITATION OF COURSE MATERIAL, ITS NO WONDER THERE IS AN EVIDENT LACK OF ENTHUSIASM SENSED IN OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. MY HUMANITIES 60 CLASS WAS NOTHING LIKE THAT. NOT ONLY DID I FEEL A SENSE OF INTRIGUE BUT I ALSO EXPERIENCED A DIFFERENT LEVEL OF COMPREHENSION.
