He made the class very interesting by discussing diseases and many related health problems. Keep you awake but do not let his severity to scare you away. He is easy to talk to and very helpful.

I had Dr Kebede for Bio 223 and 224 and it was all fun all the way! He is a great teacher and funny! He helps prepare you for the test by going through a review of the chapters for that test and that helps it sink in! And i didn't even take a Bio 189/190/130 class before I took 223 and 224 what you study is whats on the test!!!

Dr. Kebede is a great teacher if you really want to learn. Granted the labs were not as I would have wanted, but the school is just starting out. His lectures made up for what the labs lacked. He is able to answer any questions and provides real life application to every topic covered. His knowledge of this topic makes up for his disorganization.

Although he is very vague about what he wants from the class, he is a great instructor and is very knowledgable in this field since he is an Orthopaedic Surgeon in his spare time. The human cadaver part of the class was different and very interesting by the way.

A wonderful professor, lectures were interesting. He is very knowledgeable. He does have a lot of assignments due, however they help to boost your exam grades at the end of the semester. Could improve his organizational skills, syllabus was a little off but other than that i strongly recommended taking his class!

He is very unorganized, he suggested smaller projects than what was on the syllabus, but gave A LOT more! The first quiz that we had, he did not explain, never went over all the types of cells and expected us to be able to identify them through the microscope. he needs to LEARN to BE organized!!!

He is very knowledgable and a great teacher. Does need a little more organization, I don't think he even knows how or when he wants things to be done. Many assignments, but the aren't hard and will boost your grade. Can't be lazy in this class.

If you're on a tight schedule, don't take this professor. If you're impatient, don't take this professor. He often goes over time on his lectures, and doesn't move fast. We ALWAYS ran out of time on our labs. Cadaver Lab is COOL but we only went in there 2 times. Passable with mediocre effort.

Follow the review read the chapters and just do the journals/papers in the first few weeks of school. Majority of the students don't talk in class....be the one that talks and he'll take a shine to you. Don't and leave during class and expect a C.

Dr. K is a great teacher I think. He does give alot of assignments tho which sucks if your taking alot of other classes. His lectures cover everything you need to know for the tests and he gives study guides for his tests. This is a hard class. If you don't miss a day, pay attention, take notes and do your work you will do well. So far I have an A. I suggest you get an old Seeley book because his lectures have followed it a little more than the required text (they just switched). I got one for ten dollars, book & shipping. I still bought the required materials.

He is an awesome professor. I hate biology but he makes us learn. I love A&P now and I didn't think I would like it. He made me like it because of the way he teaches. Lots of assignments but only made grade better if didn't do good on exams. Got a B.

Kebede is an excellent teacher. He does require a LOT of homework (papers, quiz, etc.) but they are worth it as they help YOU learn. I DEFINITELY recommend not buying the new book that they "require". The tests and lectures are off of the old Seeley book. I bought the new one and NEVER cracked it open, used the Seeley book and review & got a 4.0.

If you want to learn from somebody passionate....take Dr. Kebede...it is that simple. Is there a lot of work? yes. Will you have a laugh or two while covering subjects that tend to be taught statically? For sure. He has so much real-world experience...and will answer all questions in a way you can understand. Dr Kebede loves medicine and students. He is passionate about learning and utilizes technology well. His MD background is invaluable as a pre med student. He literally digs into the Cadaver Lab, other NSC professors do not. I learned a great deal from Dr Kebede and got an A. Exactly what a class should be! Take him.

I took Professor Kebede this previous semester (Spring 2013). At moments he was very confusing at was he was expecting with assignments. His exam reviews are very helpful with his exams. I plan on taking him for 224 now that I know what to expect. Just take any extra credit given!!!

Dr. Kebede is very sharp and also sweet/funny. But the workload in this class is INSANE and a ton of material gets covered very quickly and it doesn't always feel organized. I'd really like him to be my doctor but don't think I'd take another of his classes!

Kebede is a man that some people will like and some people will not. He treats his students as adults, so don't act like a child. There is a lot of busy work, but it is not that time consuming. He gives study guides to each exam and he reads from the actual exam as he gives the questions. The busy work/extra credit will raise your grade by 10%.

This class is not easy at all but if you you put in the time and the effort to study really hard and do all the assignments given to you, you will do good in his class. I never had a problem with Dr. Kebede, as his class is taught at a college level and is highly informative. This professor can be confusing at times. Study guides are given for exams and lots of assignments/ EC opportunities are available. You must apply yourself and STUDY if you want a good grade- they're not just given out.

There are not many opportunities to bring grades up besides the exam either. Exams ultimately determine your final grade in this course.

He provides sustained guidance and shows you how to solve cases through rational thinking rather than memorization. However, his exams are challenging.

This is not an easy class, regardless of which prof will teach it. You HAVE to work for your grade and study. Dr. Kebede provides study guides for his exams that help so much, so work hard on those and study study study. Ask questions, attend class, and take notes. If you are not committed to studying for bio, you will not pass. His exams are about 250 questions. 200 lec questions and 50 lab. It is A LOT of content. If you put your all, you will pass.

I appreciate Dr. Kebede giving clear direction from day one, just read the syllabus, it details what is required for each assignment. Some due dates may change, but that is a part of life, we must all bob and weave obstacles all the time. He is very fair and pulls no surprises. I hope to take him again.

A&P is not an easy class at all. It's definitely A LOT of information you have to remember and retain since the final is cumulative. Honestly, great professor but you will work for that A. we turned in Lab Exercises, Lab reports, Case studies, Journals on topics and presentation on a disease related to subject at hand. He was intimidating at the beginning of the semester, and showed his humorous side towards the middle til the end of the semester. He does wants the class to be involved in activities and participates at all times. I will recommend dr. Kebede though he's a challenging professor.

I recently just took his class and this was the first class I have taken at NSC. Hands down the best professor I have ever had. He made this six-week class possible. Dr. Kebede made sure to only teach the big ideas. I have never had such a passionate professor. If you study the notes and record his lecture, then you will pass this class.

Dr. Kebede was a great instructor once you get to know him. At first I thought he was mean and sarcastic. Later I learned he likes to smile and help everyone be successful. This was my first hard Bio class, but he supported us and made it berrible. I really enjoyed the quiz at the Bodies Exhibit. A lot of work, but worth it. I learned a lot!

his lectures focus on big, main concepts of the course, and he explains these really well with real-world applications. You'll have to read, but not so much. His ECQ homework is based on a separate book, which is easily found online if you google for it. Its more helpful than the main book occasionally and isn't listed in syllabus for some reason.

Dr. Kebede (& you better call him that) is a real gem. I came from another school where I was struggling in A&P, & now I am passing this class with an A. Just like most biology's your grade rides primarily on test. However, Dr. Kebede sets you up for success unlike the first professor I failed 223 with. I took Dr. Kebede for A&P I, A&P II, and micro he is an amazing all around professor. When lecturing he will give you real world comparison so it will be better understood & remembered.

Can be intense and sometimes borderline mean. But, he is one of the most caring professors i have come across. He will take time to answer questions and truly cares about the students learning. Just be prepared to answer a question with a statement not a question. He is a great professor.

Dr. Kebede is a really straightforward professor. There are no surprises on his exams (usually) and the study guides/review he provides beforehand basically gives you the answers if you study them and pay attention. In my opinion he sets you up for success much more than the other NSC A&P professor Dr. Duong (I've taken classes with both.)

Dr. Kebede is one of the most outstanding professors at NSC. His lectures are engaging and he uses his Medical/Surgical experience to explain the importance of concepts. If you work hard and follow his instructions you will succeed. He doesn't like excuses for sloppy work. He is a surgeon, very organized and demands proper orderliness during labs.

Dr. Kebede has been my favorite professor, and sadly his was my last class taken before the nursing program. Breaks down concepts and makes sure that you understand everything. Lectures are thorough and memorable. He is so kind hearted. I wish I had been able to take him for all of my Bios. SI sessions help a ton! If you study, you will succeed.

Professor Kebede has to be one of my favorite professors. I took him over the summer & it was a six week course. 3 exams were 100 questions worth 150 points & the final was 200 questions worth 300 points. He reviews before each exam exactly what material you need to know. He comes off stern at first, but he is really amazing. Take him if you can!

Yes, Dr. Kebede's stern. You will have to work HARD, to excel. However, we will be working with doctors and their expectations, so the expectations are par for the course. He IS caring, even if his reviews are like boot camps, as far as intimidation. It's just another lesson besides the content however, to work hard, and have tough skin.

Dr. Kebede can be tough but he genuinely wants his students to succeed. 6 exams in total, including a 200 question comprehensive final exam. Not a hard class, but you have to work for your grade. No surprises on the exams; he tells you all the information that you need to pass. He assigns a few case studies which are fun and interesting! TAKE HIM!!

I took Gross anatomy which was a great class. I learned a lot. One of the things that I enjoyed about the class was that it gave the opportunity to dissect the human body in smaller groups, providing a closer look on how the anatomy of the body works. I like that the class was hybrd lecture was online and all of lab dissections where in person.

I absolutely love Dr. Kebede I have been super blessed to have him and He has inspired me ! You have to work for this class he provides the resource to succeed and it up to you to make that happen ! If you dont definitely wont dont well. He will provide extra credit and youll really know if your ready to love medicine because Im beyond inspire

Easily the best A&P professor! His tests reflect the material, if you pay attention in class and study as it flows you will do great. His PowerPoints are long but you do not need to read all of the slides to pass, he talks about what he wants you to know in class. He cares about his students, if u need help he's there! Taking him again for 224 (:

I took Dr Kebede in Summer 2022. He explains the lecture well and he expects you to take the class seriously. He often says that he will set you up for success and best believe that he will. All you gotta do is study the material well and youll ace the exams. He can be intimidating at times but just keep in mind that you're studying for yourself

The course I took was BIOL 428 Global Health. This class was the best class I have taken at NSC. It was a class I felt mattered the most, in my educational history. If you really want to appreciate a class and not feel like your time was wasted, take this class! I only wish I could've taken all my classes with Dr. Kebede. He is the best!

I took BIOL 461 - Global Health. I got to admit that it was a fun and memorable class to take. It is advisable to get the textbooks & read the assigned chapters in order to understand what is going over during lectures. Discussions in class was great. There are quizzes and exams to take, but you will get study guides to review in class.

I took Biol 461- Global Health and it was a very interesting class to be a part of, the professor made the class enjoyable and gave clear grading criteria. He was very helpful throughout the course and very understanding. This class was actually fun to learn and the way it was set up was great!

This rating is for BIOL 461. I have taken this professor 3 times and I would take him for the rest of my Classes if I could. He is absolutely amazing. Disregard all the other bad comments. The only way you would fail his class is if don't study. Complete the study guide, study and you pass, thats it! This class is very engaging 13/10!

Come to class prepared! I regret not spending the time to read over the lecture to at least know what I'm getting into. He gives study questions that are useful but don't solely rely on them, know the material to. But with just the study questions and reading over the lectures you should be able to pass. Also attendance is mandatory.

This class was really fascinating and instructive thanks to Dr. Kebede. Even if some of the tasks were difficult, Dr. Kebede always responded to my queries right away. I advise people to take this course!

Global health was a good class overall! There are a lot of group discussions, which are nice. Dr. Kebede is respectful and kind, and he responds quick to emails. The study guides for exams are really helpful and reflective of the exam. I would recommend this class!

Dr. Kebede really cares for his student's success, he may be misunderstood by the way that he challenges you. A+P is information heavy, so in order to pass you'll have to study! His lectures and labs are very organized, which I appreciate. If you have any questions he's always there to help. Awesome professor. I would take his 224 class as well!

Dr Kebede is a great professor. He will push you so that you can learn and improve and develop critical thinking, which I think is vital in the medical filed. If your major is in nursing, you will definitely benefit from having him as your biology professor as his way of teaching has a professional medical physician (general surgeon) background.

This class was a challenge but a rewarding one! You can tell he only wants to see you exceed so he will push you. I learned a lot in a very short amount of time.

The content of this class is hard regardless of who you take, but Professor Kebede gives you all the resources you need to suceed and very clearly cares about the success of students. The powerpoints are srsly overwhelming but he will take his time to answer any doubts you may have. His tone throws people off, but you won't regret taking him (:

Dr. Kebede is a great, light-hearted, and fun professor! Do what he says and you won't see the strict and stern side of him. Do the review questions for the review games, quiz, and test and you'll pass! The poster conference presentations are a lot of work but tolerable and a great experience opportunity! Work hard and it'll be worth it in the end!

Attendance is required. There were extra credit opportunity available, a final group project, an independent presentation on a country of your choosing, and he also provided exam review. I would highly recommend taking Global Health as an elective, and they will also be adding a course spring 2024 about history of medicine and surgery.

I highly recommend this course because of professor Kebede. I truly couldn't imagine it being taught by anyone else. During labs, professor Kebede is extremely respectful and professional working with the cadavers. He is always very willing to help anyone who needs extra guidance. This course may seem intimidating but is extremely beneficial!

Dr. Kebede is an awesome professor! When he says he "set you up for success" he means it and wants you to succeed in his class! His lecture slides, study guides, and review questions reflect the material on the exams! Take him! Take him!

Dr. Kebede is one of the best professors I have ever had. He always wants all his students to succeed... he takes that seriously!! lecture slides were long, but he kept things short and straightforward. Anatomy has a lot of memorization, but Dr. Kebede ensured that we understood the material too. I would take this professor again 100%!!

Dr. Kebret Kebede is hands down the best professor I have had the pleasure of learning from. Show up, spend a little time studying and you will have an A.

The professor expects nothing but the best from his students. He expects participation in class and retention of all information taught. He seems tough at first but then you see that he wants us just to do well and succeed. He provides study guides and reviews day before major exams. Pay attention, show up and do the work and you will pass!

Dr. Kebede will seem tough at first, but will then lighten up to the class. His main goal is to have all his students pass. Very little homework, but long lectures that cover everything. Exams aren't too hard as long as you study the study guide and review game. He integrates medical clinical cases that you'll see in the medical field very well :)

This is my second time taking Dr. Kebede for 224. Having him for 2 semesters, I'm truly grateful to him and all the stuff he has taught! Class was super straightforward, show up to lectures and complete the review material, and you will pass the exams. 224 was harder than 223, but the lectures and all the material correlate! Thank you, Dr. Kebede!

This is my second semester with Dr. Kebede—he's the best A&P professor in Nevada! If you are a student planning on going into any medical profession, you need to take him. All of his medical background takes his class to an entirely different level. I took his classes for post-bac work—best professor I've had during my entire college career.

One of the best instructors I have ever had, very knowledgeable and respectful. He seems really passionate about what he teaches and is usually very nice with students as long as no one makes him angry.
