If your looking for some L&L (laughin' and learnin') this is your guy! Professor Keenan is definitely, by far, the best professor I've ever had. He is hilarious so class is never boring. He will send out solutions to unresolved problems in class as soon as class concludes. He also provides his students with a handwritten solution to every problem!
Clear expectations as to what will be covered on quizzes and tests. Lectures are so comprehensive (and entertaining) that the textbook is unnecessary. He's very approachable and will help you out if you ask for it. Quizzes are given at the end of every other TA discussion session, so that's where attendance comes into play. Take him!
For me, this is the math professor that will be a tough act to follow. His lectures are engaging, thorough, and clear enough to the point that textbook use is not necessary. He's entertaining to listen to, and he made me want to come to class every time. His grading and expectations are clear; nothing on quizzes or tests are a surprise. Take him!
Took for Intro to Real Analysis. Hilarious/witty (made every class enjoyable). Clearly cares about students & ensures that we understand material he's lecturing on. Always prepared for class and accessible in office hours/by email. Exams were very fair + he'd send a prep email in advance of each. Wish he'd joined UT sooner before my last semester.
The lectures are very easy to follow so you don't need to read the textbook. Do the recommended textbook HW problems (they show up on the quiz). The tests are taken from the bank of Quest HW problems (same problems with different numbers) and the free response is pulled from past quizzes and examples done in class (also with different numbers). Easy A!
Great communicator on what you are expected to know on the tests, very funny lectures, 10/10 would recommend
He is quality. What you need to know, what you think you should know, he actually TEACHES it. He doesn't have anything up his sleeve. Go to class, do the quest and book work, and that's all the effort that's really needed! He utilizes examples well, which he bases assignments and certain test problems after.
I enjoyed Keenan's class because he made it fun and engaging. I already enjoy math more than most, but Keenan really is hilarious and engaging in lectures. He cares more about students learning the material than he does about the grade itself, and is often accessible over email and in office hours to help. He made me ENJOY waking up for an 8 am.
Made going to class enjoyable, cares a lot about each of his students and wants you to both succeed and genuinely understand the material. Hilarious too, one of my favorite professors.
Keenan is hilarious and really cares about his students. He always sends an email covering the exam a week in advance, and is always willing to put your learning experience (which will be fantastic because his Ph.D is in Number Theory) before your grade, even if it costs him sleep. Also he brought us cookies on the last day.
Kidwell is hands down one of the best professors here at UT. This guy is super entertaining and will keep you looking forward to his lectures. The tests are also extremely straightforward, so as long as you do your Quest homework and do the recommended practice problems, you'll have no trouble doing well on the tests.
Take him!! His lectures were clear, concise, and above all incredibly entertaining. He spends a lot of time on useful practice problems and gives very fair tests based on those problems plus the quest homeworks. On top of all that, though, he's just such a down-to-earth, funny, and genuine guy, I love him and would totally take him again.
If you ever need to take calc, take Kidwell. Lectures were textbook-based so you could just look up the examples if you missed class. Weekly quizzes and 3 midterms were based on Quest HW so practice those problems and you'll be fine! Final exam looked exactly like the problems on the review he provided on Quest. TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT A 4.0
Best math professor at UT, not even close. Since he's young, he can actually communicate with the students and he's very good at making sure everyone is following what he's saying. Also is SO funny. He really is there to help you, but his class isn't even very hard. If you do all the homework and keep up with the quizzes it should be an easy A/A-.
Dr. Kidwell is the best math professor I've had to date. His lectures are clear; he makes complicated concepts easy to understand. He is HILARIOUS. Never a dull lecture. All exams were very fair, and as long as you study the material and attend lecture, you'll do well on them. 11 out of 10 would definitely recommend.
Keenan is an amazing professor and definitely the best calculus professor I've had. The class isn't too bad. 3 midterms (one is dropped), one hmwk and quiz evert week (except on test weeks), and the final. He loves to make jokes in class and loves Rick and Morty references. If I could take him again I would in a heartbeat.
He's probably one of the best math professor I've had. Really weird and funny and his lectures are straight and to the point. I learned a lot in his class. His homework goes off his lectures and his exams are off the hw. If you do the hw and listen in class, you'll do well in the exam. Has weekly quizzes in discussion that also show up on the exam.
Awesome professor. He makes the lectures enjoyable and easy to understand.
This guy is the best. His lectures are hilarious and he teaches the material really well. I always looked forward to going to his class. He clearly tells you what to expect on the tests. There is a weekly quiz and homework, except on test weeks, and doing does will prepare you for the exams. One of the best professors I've ever had.
Kidwell is amazing. The dude roasts himself constantly yet is definitely the best professor I've had at UT. If you have any Calc BC background, this class is an easy A.
Most importantly, if you want/need to learn calculus, DO NOT take him. That being said, the easiest professor ever!!! He gives excellent notes. If you follow those and do the HW, nothing will stop you from making a 100 on every single test. If you are interested in math, he is really chill to talk to about it. Honestly, a great professor!!!!
Keenan taught with a combination of in depth knowledge of the material and humor, which is probably the best way for a college student to learn. He gave you all the tools necessary to succeed and made a class that a lot of professors over complicate enjoyable. Yes he was easy on the eyes also
Without a doubt the best professor so far at UT. He is always making jokes so class is entertaining, and I actually wanted to go to every single lecture. Explains the content very well and the tests are only slightly challenging. But it is very much possible to make any grade with a little effort. Would definitely take him again!!
Class was just challenging enough, not too difficult to where you're overwhelmed but not too easy to where you don't learn anything. Keenan was also hilarious, and genuinely cared about everyone passing. Great guy, highly recommended.
Dr. Kidwell is an amazing professor. He constantly makes some hilarious jokes in class to make the lecture seem more interesting. He teaches every concept well and makes sure everyone understands it before carrying on. Probably the best professor at UT.
Kidwell is the BEST professor I have had thus far. He is so funny and cares about his students. He explains the material in class so well and makes all concepts understandable. You use the book only for homework questions and I have never had to reference it because his lectures are easy to understand. 2 tests, doable quizzes and hw weekly!
Amazing professor! What he presents during lecture actually reflects the homework, quizzes, and exams and he's very accessible outside of class through emails and office hours. He also provides detailed solutions to all homework problems and tells you exactly what will be on the exams. Overall, I highly recommend him; he doesn't try to trick you.
Kidwell is by far the best math professor at UT. His lectures were very entertaining and I actually looked forward to them. We usually knew what would be on the test and his grading was fair and clear. Discussions have a weekly quiz from the HW to keep you on track as well. His office hours were very helpful. Overall he made math enjoyable.
Keenan was truly a gem. I hate math but I loved going to his class. Engaging, funny, caring, and such a great prof. He made the material easy to understand and fun to learn. I really can't say enough good things about him. This was he first time teaching M302, and he had to leave halfway through for personal reasons, but he was amazing. 100/100
I normally don't write reviews on rate my prof but I had to for Keenan; if you get the chance TAKE HIM!! He's funny, super nice, and genuinely cares about his students. He'll give you a good idea of what's on the exams and the work load isn't bad at all.
Keenan has the most amazing soul Ive ever seen. He genuinely cares so much. He covers the concepts with so much depth, and he makes it a fun time as well. Hes extremely funny and not bad on the eyes as well. Going to his class brightened not only my day, but my entire life.
Had him for both M 325K and M 341. Amazing professor who tries really hard to make math both understandable and enjoyable, even if it costs him time and sleep. Two midterms and a final, final replaces lowest of the two midterms. He is extremely fair in grading and as long as you keep up with the course, there is no reason you shouldn't do well .
This man cares immensely; he has an incredibly good heart and I highly recommend anybody take him when they have a chance. Not only that, but he teaches really well and makes class as entertaining as possible. Best professor I've had at UT yet.
Hands down, the best lower-division maths professor at UTA! Lectures are very thorough, so textbook isn't necessary unless you want extra practice problems. There are 3 midterm exams, and the lowest one is dropped. Tests are normally similar to examples from class or hw. Dr. Kidwell will also give a briefing so you know what to expect on exam.
Makes lectures fun and a huge rick and morty fan. Textbook not required unless for practice problems. Quiz in discussion and one homework assignment a week. He tells you exactly how the test is going to go and how to study. Easy to get in contact with and meet outside of class if necessary. One of the best at UT!
Best professor I've ever had. My lecture was at 8am but he always was engaging even though it was so early. Extremely funny and easy-going. I'm biased with my grade because I took calculus AB/BC in high school so material was easy for me, but even so, assignments were exactly like test questions. Just study the types of questions he gives out
Keenan is a great professor who loves to teach math and knows how to be very entertaining while doing so. We took 3 mid-terms (1 dropped) about 5 quizzes (2 dropped) and the rest of the grade was made up by HW and final. He never surprises you on the exams and always makes sure you prepared for them (the HW questions were a always harder than exam)
The class was extremely fair. He made it clear what the tests would cover and the material we'd need to know to do well. Besides that, grading was fairly lenient and he drops plenty of grades. But the best of Kidwell's class was how down to earth and funny he was. He's incredibly approachable and compassionate. Best class I've taken yet.
Dr. Kidwell is considerate as he does his best to make lectures informative yet entertaining and is always willing to answer questions. He's very responsive when it comes to emails, and about every weekend before an exam, he'll advise the class on how to prepare for the test. If you ever have him as a professor, you're both lucky and in good hands.
As someone who generally dislikes math, Dr. Kidwell made me love going to class and learning calculus. He is the best professor I've ever had at UT and I would take him every semester if I had the chance to. He's hilarious and has lectures that are pretty easy to understand. He genuinely cares about his students and isn't hard to look at either!
Keenan is a great guy and an amazing professor. Makes sure to answer all questions and has light homeworks. Exams are medium and short with free response only and partial credit. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU GET THE CHANCE, HILARIOUS GUY.
My calculus placement test predicted I would have a hard time in M408C but I got an A! Weekly HW, 5 quizzes, 3 midterms (1 drop) and a final. I didn't even take the 3rd test. He makes "reviews" for tests and they're pretty helpful and reflective of what's on the exam. He tells you exactly what you need to know to succeed! He's a funny guy too!
Hands down, the BEST professor I've ever had. Not only does he genuinely care about each student, he also makes sure that he is accessible to all his students to provide help navigating his course. He is a genius and a down-to-earth person who doesn't belittle anyone for asking simple questions. Third time taking calc, finally will pass the class!
An amazing professor overall! His lectures are very organized and he explains the concepts well so its easy to understand. We had weekly quizzes but if you did the homework, then you'll be prepared. His exams are fair and he gives sufficient time for them. He's actually invested in his students and wants them to do well!
Best professor. He teaches the material very well and the tests are really similar to problems he works out in class.
I cannot recommend him enough! He is so genuine and caring and wants all his students to succeed. He answers ALL questions very well; all quizzes, HW, and exams are very reasonable and similar to class material and reviews. He is very knowledgeable and teaches very clearly and is the best math instructor I've ever had. Would take again!
Great professor, I took him for both M408C and M408D. Tests are straightforward and very similar to homework/quiz problems. Weekly quiz in discussion. Very funny professor who clearly cares about the success of his students.
Keenan is an awesome professor!! Just a super funny, sweet, patient, and understanding guy. He genuinely cares about all of his students. If you want the best Calc professor, this is the guy to take. His lectures are very entertaining, engaging, and hilarious. If you do the weekly HW, you'll do absolutely fine on the quizzes and tests.
You won't find a better calculus professor at UT. He is super funny and makes lectures interesting. He is super understanding. The homework prepares you for the straight forward quizzes and exams. You can tell that he puts a lot of effort into teaching.
This man is just amazing, if you couldn't already tell from his 5 stars. He has amazing lectures and is always available for help. He will literally jump through hoops to make sure you understand. Best UT calc professor by far, I went from barely passing calc 1 to an A in calc 2 and also understanding the material.
He was one of the best professors Ive ever had. He will make sure everyone in the class understand the lecture before moving on. He cares a lot about his students and will help you succeed if you put in the effort. No matter how hard class material, the way he teaches it and presents it helps everyone understand if. Awesome professor & he is funny
Keenan will probably be the best professor I will ever take. He cares so much about his students. Calculus is a tough subject but he is very clear and teaches extremely well. The homeworks are reasonable, and the TA would answer any questions in discussion. Attendance is optional. I rarely needed extra help, such a good and funny prof!!
If you get a chance to take him, I highly recommend it. He cares tremendously about his students and is very funny. The class is straight forward, just attend class and do the homework. The weekly quizzes are not difficult just know what is going on in the course.
Hands down the best math professor at UT. Keenan cares about his students and their success. His lectures are interesting & tests are always fair. If you can take a class with him, absolutely go for it.
EASILY my favorite math professor ever and one of my favorite professors, period. 6/5.
Spring 2018. Dr. Kidwell is an amazing teacher. Always keeps you engaged and teaches the dense calculus as best as he can. Takes questions frequently, and has 3 midterms with a final, along with recitation quizzes and QUEST homework (this is painful). One midterm dropped, two quizzes dropped. Worth it if you have to take this class.
Very entertaining and engaging lectures, especially for a difficult/dry subject (Number theory). Also a very nice guy, genuinely cares a whole lot about all of his students. Office hours are extremely helpful. Phenomenal professor all-around, definitely take a class with him!
I took this class in the Spring of 2020 and Professor Kidwell's lecture style was one of the first times where I could easily pay attention during class. He clearly explains the content then walks you through multiple practice exams. After everything went online, he continued to give live lectures and was always open for questions. Highly recommend
Professor Kidwell is one of the best professors I've ever had. He was hilarious and very easy to listen to. I took him Spring 2020 and he handled the move to online class much better than most other professors because he truly cares about his students. I would advise watching Rick and Morty before hand so you can understand some of his references.
Love love love Keenan. Took Business Calc Fall 2020 over Zoom. Prof is so funny and makes sure that all students understand the concept before moving on. Enjoyed the class, easy if you've already taken calc.
Keenan is so quirky and funny. He's a guy anyone would want to be friends with. He loves making jokes and making fun of himself in lecture. The content of the course is pretty simple and easy overall. Just put in effort and review your work before submitting and you will be fine. Lot's of time to complete assignments.
TAKE KIDWELL FOR M408Q. I had heard horror stories about taking Calculus at UT and was so nervous, but this class was not hard at all if you've taken any calculus before (seriously). Keenan is also the nicest, funniest, most caring professor and his lectures are actually fun. As long as you put in work and do stuff on time you will be fine!
I hate calculus. Keenan made it worth it. He is the kindest, funniest, most caring professor out there and I'm so thankful I got to take his class. Always sent the nicest announcements on Canvas and attempted to connect with his students despite being virtual.
PLEASE TAKE THIS PROFESSOR FOR MATH. HE IS PHENOMENAL. PHENOMENAL, PEOPLE!!! He is quirky, funny, kind, and make sure that you understand the material. There are 3 exams and 1 final, and he gives you plenty of time to do them. This class is easy if you've taken calc and gets a little harder at the end of the semester.
Keenan is a super hilarious and nice guy!!! especially during the pandemic, his online lectures were the only course I wanted to join, he's like a twitch streamer lol! just can't miss any Rick and Morty references lol. for the hw &exam, you can tell that he put a lot of effort into them, they are really well-designed and self-generated problems!
Keenan is amazing. He cares about the students and takes a lot of feedback. Tests are easy if you watch the lectures and they are take home so you have 3 days to do them. Amazing class
Keenan is one of the best lecturers that Ive had and does such a great job of keeping his students engaged. He was very understanding during COVID and is one of the best profs that Ive had. You should take this class.
Keenan is the best professor I had in my first semester. His lectures were engaging, it was clear he put a lot of effort into planning them. He made jokes throughout the lectures, and took breaks where he just asked students questions about themselves where they could answer in the chat. Tests are take home, and you have three days to complete them
KEENAN IS INCREDIBLE. Calculus has always been my least favorite math by far, but this class made me excited to actually learn it. He really puts in the effort to engage with students and incorporates humor into each one of his lectures. I haven't met a single person who's taken him that didn't love him. Please PLEASE take him if given the chance!
TAKE HIS CLASS I PROMISE YOU IT IS THE BEST CLASS AT UT. I have so much fun in his class and he is so entertaining. Very flexible with students and always asks for our feedback on hw assignments (also always pushes back the deadline too lol), just take it
Keenan is one of the few gems who seems to be born to teach. He is so clearly passionate about what he teaches and it makes the somewhat difficult content so much easier. He is open with all of his students and makes the classroom feel so interesting. Keenan is truly one of the greatest teachers I have ever encountered, anyone is lucky to have him.
Prof Kidwell is by far the best math professor I've had at UT (and I'm almost finished with my math major). I can't recommend him enough!
Best professor ever! He is so funny and makes an effort to make class fun and interesting. He really cares about his students. Will push back due dates to be nice and all assignments are super manageable. Definitely recommend.
I hate math with everything I have but Keenan was the best professor I could possibly imagine. I looked forward to doing my math homework because of him. The only professor I've ever had where I looked forward to going to every math class, office hours, everything. 12/10 would recommend to anyone. One of the most genuine, caring, funny professors.
My favorite professor of all time. Very funny but teaches in an effective way. You need to have him as your calc professor!
Well-respected professor. He's really as good as the reviews suggest, and is great at teaching! Very understanding of situations and will regularly push back deadlines. His humor and care make the class interactive and entertaining, even through Zoom. There are many assignments, but he's willing to help out, and drops a bunch. Not hard to get an A.
Keenan is an amazing professor. His lectures are clear and, if you have questions, he always makes sure you understand before moving on or makes sure that he's available in office hours to help. I've had multiple classes with him and loved all of them. You do have to do the work to pass, but he makes sure to help if you're stuck.
Keenan is the ideal professor. He's funny, cares about math as well as his students, and is really really smart. Whether I came into office hours with specific questions or just to hang out it was always fun and productive for me. Regardless of what you want to take from a class (credit, an A, knowledge), there is literally no better choice.
Kidwell has been my favorite professor I have had by a landslide during my first year at UT. He is so engaging, caring, and funny and deserves every last 5-star rating. I would take another course by him in a heartbeat. He teaches everything in an easy and accessible way and is always on standby to help outside of class, loved this guy.
The class atmosphere was very relaxed due to Dr Kidwell's chill nature. Content was explained well. HWs focus on application rather than mere computation which makes them fulfilling to complete. Dr Kidwell was very helpful in answering questions related to content and HW. Posted daily class notes on Canvas + provided generous curves on exams.
The only professor I have felt compelled to rate so far at UT. He is a great teacher, quite funny, and incredibly caring. Very reasonable grader and he gave us plenty of extra credit/grade bumps.
If you took AB or BC Calc in high school you will be completely fine. Discussion sections are just homework help and lectures are not really necessary to attend either because barely any material is even covered (he doesn't take attendance in either). The grading is pretty picky on worksheets but an adequate amount of work. Overall, easy A
Professor Kidwell takes a challenging subject and makes it enjoyable on many levels. The lectures felt like an inspirational part of my day, he was always encouraging students to attend office hours and ask questions, and his feedback on exams was exceptional. This really is a professor that goes above and beyond to see his students succeed.
I had such a great experience in this class. Overall, the content was very simple; mostly a review of basic calculus and algebra fundamentals with some straightforward applications. The professor is so great as he always aims to make his lectures interesting (through humor) and prioritizes students understanding of the material.
Dr. Kidwell is so funny and makes his lectures engaging. He brought cookies (he baked them!) and donuts to class from time to time. If that doesn't sound good enough, he provides extra credit opportunities for exams. He's very caring and accommodating to students. If you ever get stuck or just want to hang out, go to office hours!! A real gem.
I honestly don't think I would've passed differential calculus if I took it with anyone else. Keenan was so nice, and very understanding. This is what I'd wish all my professors were like! When I had it, it was online. You get just the right amount of work too.
Calculus in of itself is a very challenging course, but Professor Kidwell makes a lot easier compared to other teachers. Not only is he very lenient and will help you whenever, but his lectures are interesting and he aims at making them entertaining. Best teach overall.
As a senior math major at UT, I can easily say Dr. Kidwell is the best professor I've ever had. He really cares about his students, is well-versed in the material, and gives very entertaining lectures! Consider yourself extremely fortunate if you ever have the opportunity to take a class with him.
Keenan is my favorite professor ever at UT. I have had him as a professor two times now, and if there was another class I could take from him I would. I definitely struggle with proofs and theory in general, but he has been super willing to help me and other students understand the material. Definition of stellar. 10000+/10
Kidwell is an amazing professor, one of the best professors I've ever had. He cares about his students, he is passionate about math, and puts in the effort to make sure that his students both have a great time and learn a lot. He gives options for extra credit, is clear about his grading criteria, and is helpful on Piazza. His lectures are great.
Keenan (or as he likes to be called- KeeKee) is probably the best math teacher I've ever had. I've struggled in math courses in the past and would never have guessed I would have business calc as my favorite class this semester. His lectures were engaging, the workload was fair, and he genuinely cares about his students' success.
Keenan is a great professor, and is very open to questions and feedback. If you attend office hours you will get all the help you need to achieve that A. Don't get behind in this class, but don't worry if some units are harder than others.
Keenan is a great professor. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches, and he is accessible outside of class. Do not fall behind on lectures, and you should be fine.
Professor Kidwell is actually THE best professor that I've ever taken. Extremely passionate about his subject and what he does (I mean, look at the papers he's written, it's crazy) and also cares for all of his students. His office hours are great, and he loves Rick and Morty! Best learning environment I've ever been put in. TAKE HIS CLASS!!
One of the best professors and teachers there is. Highly recommend his class. I was terrible at math, he made me have confidence in myself and thoroughly explained all the steps and I never got lost. He loves what he does and cares about his students. The best math class you will take.
Kidwell was incredible. He encourages everyone in the class and office hours really helps.
Keenan is awesome. Lectures are straightforward, coursework isn't light, but manageable, and he is probably the most hilarious teacher/professor I've had. Sometimes he goes off on tangents in lectures but I've never felt like it's taken away from the material. Super accessible, lots of opportunity for extra credit. Easy A if you work for it.
This class is pretty easy. Topics are not hard and tests and quizzes are all open-note and take home. Make sure you do your best on the homework assignments because they are graded pretty strictly. Lots of EC opportunities. I ended up with 100%+ in this class. Keenan is such a kind, wonderful person and is so funny.
Professor Kidwell is super sweet and truly wants you to do your best! He gives great feedback and is almost always available for extra help
Professor Kidwell is a gem. I learned a lot, and he made class very enjoyable. Tests are open note and if you take decent notes youll get a good grade. There is a decent amount of work but it is manageable. He offers copious extra credit for anyone willing to put in the effort. Great class, take him if you can.
Keenan Kidwell is hands down the best professor you can get. If you are lucky enough to get in his class he will not fail to make you laugh while you learn. His office hours are amazing and he goes over problems from worksheets and homeworks when you ask.
Keenan is a very casual professor and makes it fun to come to class. Exams are take home and he offers plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Anyone who does their work and extra credit should comfortably get an A. The material was harder than I expected it to be, but he was available in office hours and his explanations were amazing.
Good professor
Keenan is the best professor known to man. He teaches the course thoroughly while making lectures interesting. He cares about his students so much and never fails to make us laugh. He is transparent with his grading and I would even argue that he is generous when it comes to scores. I 100% recommend Keenan!!!
Took a half-summer term of number theory with Kidwell in 2020. Although Dr. Kidwell makes teaching a somewhat terse subject effortless, it's clear he goes to great lengths to create an open, inviting, and stimulating classroom environment. By far the most personable math professor at UT, and he has the pedagogical chops to boot.
Kidwell is such an amazing professor and person. He is truly there to help you learn and be the best you can be. The class is pretty easy if you listen to lectures and do the homework. He is always willing to work with you!
Easily the best professor at UT. Extremely passionate about teaching and never fails to make the class laugh. Teaches calculus so well that even elementary school students can learn calculus from him. Also, he gives you 1 midterm drop and 6 homework drops in total. Highly recommend taking ANY class with Kidwell. Your future self will thank you.
This is the best math proffesor I have ever had! I learned so much this semster!
Keenan. Kidwell. Is the sweetest man on the PLANET. I took calculus in high school which is why I thought his class was so easy, but I think others w/ no previous experience felt the same way. He is so kind and genuine and truly deserves the whole world. Please please find a way to take his class, even if it doesn't count for your degree - he rocks
Please just take him, best 408D professor out there. Exams are take home, he drops 3 quest homeworks and 3 written homeworks. Class is pretty manageable, he is very passionate about the subject, and has engaging lectures.
Really amazing prof! Super funny, understanding, and really cares about his students. Exams were take home, and he drops 3 quest hws, 3 written hws, and 1 exam. He really does live up the rmp hype and I couldn't recommend him enough :)
All the reviews are true!!! Take Kidwell by any means necessary. The homework and test are challenging, but there is plenty of time to complete them, and they are rewarding in the end.
Could not recommend Dr. Kidwell enough!! He does assign a good amount of HW, but he gives take-home exams and extra credit. He is so caring and funny. I definitely enjoyed going to his class. As long as you put in a good amount of work, this class should be a (relatively) easy A.
One of the best professors I have had at UT. Prof. Kidwell does everything to make sure you understand the concepts and puts in all his energy into lectures. I've never seen a professor care so much about his students and try to learn everyone's name in class. GO TO LECTURES!! Cannot recommend a professor enough.
K^2 is the best professor by far. How that's possible as a calculus professor? I have no idea but he made me not hate it. I highly recommend taking KeeKee's course, he's definitely not a scary harsh professor and is definitely one you can easily become friends with and go to for help if you ever need it. Class was as easy as it can get for Calc 2.
Luv tha dude
K^2 is amazing! While the business calc class (M408Q) that I'm in is not easy, he gives his students the resources to succeed. Hilarious guy who knows his stuff and loves Rick and Morty, skateboarding, and hedgehogs. In the past, I absolutely hated math and did not understand calc, but not anymore. Take his class!
Best professor known to man. So caring and considerate of his students. Super helpful in office hours, lectures are engaging and understandable.
I love Keenan! He is very friendly and makes his lectures entertaining! He really cares about his students and is more than happy to help during his office hours! As someone who had never taken calculus before, Keenan goes into great detail about the fundamentals. I cannot recommend his class enough, but you do have to work a good grade!
such an amazing prof. which i showed up to class more to appreciate it lol. funny asf. loves rick n morty btw. AND HE'S A RADIOHEAD FAN!!!!!!!!!! ask to see his skating vids. goes in depth in notes to explain stuff, has examples, office hours. slow grader but I don't mind.
Best Professor at UT
If every class was taught by Keenan, I think I would be a math major instead of an engineer. Truly the best professor I've had for math at UT. He was so good in lectures that the textbook wasn't necessary. If you were confused, his office hours were the only ones I consistently attended just to learn more. Pop culture references in lecture. 10/10
Honestly did not know what to expect when switching to his class but Kidwell is literally one of the best teachers I have had. He is very passionate and funny about everything he does. As for the class I highly recommend you take it with him. You do not have to show up to lectures but discussions are mandatory. Super great professor!
Dr. Kidwell was a great professor! He was hilarious, making every class lots of fun. He's also very passionate about teaching! The class was manageable, and office hours are accessible if there are any questions you have (if you can't make office hours, he's great about answering emails). Definitely take him as a professor if you have the option!
Fantastic professor! Very accessible if a student needs help during office hours and even provides Piazza as an option if students don't want to ask questions in class (ie. me). Utilizes pop culture references (particularly Rick and Morty) and finds a way to make math engaging. Couldn't recommend him more - even if you don't like calculus! :)
I LOVED THIS PROF. He genuinely is very caring and considerate of his students. He is willing to make changes in deadlines and drop assignments if enough students express they need more time and preparation. Lecture wasn't mandatory but discussion lowk was, but I felt like doing the worksheet with other people was helpful. Best professor.
Great professor, easy class as long as you study. Definitely take.
One of the funniest teachers I've ever had. The class itself was super easy. If you need to take business calc, he is the best teacher by far. Really fun to converse with, can't recommend him enough.
Professor KeeKi is fantastic!! This class is very informative, I have no prior calc knowledge and have learned so much. He keeps his lectures engaging by cracking jokes and continuously asking his students questions. He is very accommodating and does what he can to help his students. If you can, I highly recommend Kidwell!
He is the best professor I have had. Please take him. I have a 102 in this class because there is so much extra credit, tests are based on what we learn in class/discussion worksheets, and he drops 3 worksheets, 1 HW, 2 learning modules and 1 exam. He is also hilarious and makes lectures so interesting.
Professor Kidwell was the best math teacher/professor I have ever had. The course was extremely manageable and he is always accessible for help on any assignment. The tests are moderately difficult, but again, manageable. Kidwell is a MUST take for this course.
Dr. KeeKee is an amazing professor. Despite this being his first time teaching 365C, it was a great experience and he made a challenging subject approachable. Go to his office hours, they're super helpful and fun as well. Sometimes I feel bad for how much self deprecating he does. Please, one year y'all need to pool some money to get him therapy.
He is the best , nicest, kind, knowledgeable, and amazing professor you could EVER ASK for in UT, Show your dedication, work, attitude, and go to the office hour you will be all set.
Most exams have very little to do with review worksheets or previous work. The class also feels very unorganized, worksheets and lecture often feel unconnected with little carryover.
What is annoying is that students rate him based on his personality. Don't get me wrong he is a nice person but teaching wise his material isn't helpful for tests which are worth 20%. Looking at the tests other professors have given for this course, his was 10x harder. Take Bill if you can.
He's a great professor. Super funny, understanding (esp if you don't have a calc background, which I didn't), and willing to help. However, the tests were hard and didn't exactly match what we did in class. I feel like he prepped us well for the third exam, but I really wish he did the same for the other 2. HWs are not often but are very long.
Grades consist of weekly group worksheets, some online homework modules, and exams. Lectures are somewhat boring but he tries to make them engaging. Should be an easy A.
Dr. Kidwell is a good guy and clearly knowledgeable, but his lectures were hard to understand and he barely covered the syllabus.
Kidwell is incredible. He genuinely cares about every student and is dedicated to your success. Lectures are not mandatory but very engaging/funny. However, they can get sidetracked. Do not buy the textbook, we never use it! He is readily available to help with questions. Best professor I've had.
Kidwell was amazing! I had no prior calc knowledge and I made an A+! he explains everything well and on top of that his lectures are funny and engaging! he will even listen to feedback/extend deadlines/ cancel exams if the class expresses issues to him. Genuinely the best calc professor ever!! Attendance isn't mandatory but lectures aren't recorded
Great class, it's manageable and relatively easy. Great professor, explains content very well, and is a great lecturer overall.
keenan's awesome! his 408q tests are significantly easier than the other professors from what i hear. he makes an effort to make classes engaging, and is extremely understanding for his students. best professor i had this semester!
This guy is awesome. I went to lecture like 3 times but every time he was such a cool guy. Very easy tests.
Kidwell is the best teacher ever!! He is so kind and caring! His class is easy and his tests are much easier than the other M408Q teachers. Take him.
Keenan is the best professor I've ever had. He's hilarious and cares deeply about his students. He is very accessible during office hours, by email, etc. He goes out of the way to learn students names and will happily offer extra credit or extend deadlines. I will miss his lectures! His next students are very lucky
Keenan is the best professor/teacher I have ever had. He genuinely cares so much for his students. He offers extra credit, will extend deadlines and has multiple office hours a week that are very helpful. His lectures are engaging, useful and he makes lots of jokes that keeps the class fun. The tests are not bad if you do the review & go to class
Kidwell will be moving to another school for next Fall's semester, but while at UT he was an amazing professor. Considering M408Q, or Business Calc, is a stupidly easy course, it's to be expected that the class would be easy. However, Prof. Kidwell really is a great guy, and hilarious to boot. Taking any of his math courses will be of great aid.
I loved Professor Kidwell, one of the best professors I have ever had and I was happy to finish my second semester out with him. His final is optional and tests are almost exactly like the reviews. Does a great job at covering the material and he does it while being hilarious, something most professors can't do. Loved his class.
Such a nice guy who wants everyone to get an A. Easy class. Also super knowledgeable and smart.
It's a super easy class, especially if you took Calculus (I did AP Calc BC) in high school. Otherwise, you may have difficulty and would be better off but if you know calculus, this is an insanely easy A+.
Kidwell is an amazing professor. He was really entertaining and did a great job of answering questions. The work itself is not difficult especially if you are already familiar with basic calculus - but there is a really high volume of it. The TA graders can be a bit picky though- just go to Kidwell to resolve that where necessary.
Easiest BCalc prof imo. Super chill. I never went to class and still learned everything. He's lectures are great too if you need them. Test arent hard and lots of extra credit. Pretty funny guy too. Only bad part was 8am discussions if you end up getting that but you work with your group to work at a different time.
Keenan is HILARIOUS and knows how to get a class engaged. However, his class is fast-paced and the time he spends engaging with the class can get in the way of learning. His class is enjoyable, but make sure to pay close attention to the teaching portion - the homework can be harsh, so you'll need to know your stuff.
Dr Kidwell is so caring, funny, and helpful. He's the best math professor I've ever had!
Professor Kidwell is a hilarious and caring instructor who makes even the easiest math course engaging. Use unstuck study alongside the free textbook to ace this class with minimal effort.
