Mrs McCoy is a good teacher, very passionate about the subject. Be sure to read the eText and do the assignments on time. There is a paper due at the end of the course, dont procrastinate. Professor McCoy is very passionate about what she does. Her lectures aren't boring at all since she has a great sense of humor. As long as you do what you're suppose to do, you'll be fine.

Expect a decent amount of homework. McCoy strictly adheres to her syllabus schedule. She will not remind you of due dates. It is up to you to adhere to due dates, rubrics, and papers. She is very energetic but this at times can be an annoyance. Look out for yourself and stay on top of you due dates and you'll pass.

She is an awesome teacher! Really passionate about her class and will do anything to make it fun but doesn't accept full points for late work. She gives you a lot of work but if you do it all its an easy A. You don't have any final exams in her class.

Her class is very interesting, and you learn a lot of information about the history of African Americans. The course does not just focus on African American, but it discusses other races who have gone through struggles for freedom also.

The test is pretty according to me. A lot of writing for the test, and you need to put a lot of effort to get a good mark in the test. You dont need to study for it. It is open book. And a lot reading; I find the book quite boring. Other than that, show up to class and you will get a reasonable grade

Keira McCoy was a great teacher who understands the student life. She is a hilarious teacher that made learning American History fun. I took a 7 week Summer term with her and I was nervous, because its's a 7 week class. But I was pleasantly surprised when a fun, gregarious teacher showed up, who was all for helping you succeed. She's is very high energy, expect to see coffee in her hand. Attendance isn't necessary but she gives extra content in class that makes it easier to remember. Has exit slips for attendance but they aren't hard at all.

Hands the best professor Ive ever had, Im currently looking for more classes to take with her. It was a 7 week course online and a lecture once a week. We had 2-3 quizzes and a discussion w/ 2 peer responses due each week. One research paper due at the end of the course. Easiest A Ive ever received! She really is caring and understanding.

I took this class as part of my dual enrollment, as an intro to college classes. McCoy was probably the best teacher from that whole year. We did very little work and mostly we talked through what was stressing us with school and different ways to work through it and improve in our other classes. She would show us funny videos and her cats. 10/10.

There is a lot of work to be done and you will have to read, but it's more about the completion of the task than about it being perfect.

She is a good professor, but she is very, very demanding. it leaves a looot of homework, I have assignments almost daily with long text, articles, and research involved.

Professor McCoy's class is your typical college class. Be ready to do a lot of reading and a lot of writing. She has assignments due during different days of the week so be sure to be organized on due dates. . She grades in attendance so attend all of them. Pay attention to the quiz questions so know what to study for on the 2 term tests she has.

Professor McCoy was an amazing teacher. She made learning fun and the activities helped me with memorization of her homework assignments (which aren't many) and her quizzes. I learned a lot about history and also about FSCJ. I learned how to utilize the Library Commons to assist with finding research material and how to utilize the campus tutors.

Even it was a online class she made it very fun when we met once a week, I actually learned and enjoyed this history class.

Going back to school was rough for me even with one class. Because my lifestyle is so busy, I work full time, am a mother of three boys, and am a wife. I couldn't get into doing a good paper, my test taking and I feel bad for that. Trying to stay focused was hard at one point, but I push through. Because Ms. McCoy is an outstanding teacher.

She know her work and very well. If you pay attention and do the assignment also got to class you will be successful in her class. She is a great teacher.

I love the use of diverse tools and assignments to help neurodivergent thinkers learn and demonstrate knowledge. Packback is interesting and tough. I would encourage the use of this but clarify due dates and enable more response time.

This class was really easy to take as long as you participated and turned in your assignments on time! Truth be told I've had professors who don't care if you pass the course or not, so taking this course was a breath of fresh air in terms of feeling cared for and respected by the professor.

Even if it is explained under the assignment posting. She does have two test in her class that are important which are, the mid term and the final exam, but they are not proctored.

I took this class at 6 am and the professor was always so energetic and happy which made the class so much more enjoyable. Also has a lot of extra credit so passing this class is more than possible, only thing I would make sure of is to read over the assignments before they are due so you can ask questions because they are a bit vague. She will not give you any "favor" if you don't have any proper documents, even if you beg her or email her a thousand times, don't you worry, she WILL NOT. It was a very fast moving online C course but Ms. McCoy is fun, understanding and eager to answer any questions. There are quite a few projects, but they are quite fun and informative. This is a class that you will truly learn something. Plenty of opportunities for extra credit if you are willing to put in the time.

She warned us that it would be a lot to cover in a short time, which helped set our expectations. While she did well overall, I think she could have explained the assignments a bit better. Attendance is not mandatory but it is helpful in getting insight into deliverables since many had typos or were vague in the instructions. There are MANY assignments and also heavy readings. Felt I had to prioritize the assignments because so many were due/wk. For example the Mid term week had about 4 due &a quiz related to readings+ midterm.

This professor places a high value on time, so any extra credit is based on your ability to spend time doing something. Her lectures are very interaction based. Although her content is not always the clearest, if you pay attention in class it is a hard class to fail.

Expect assignments on two texts simultaneously, as well as other unrelated assignments. Attendance is mandatory and graded. Lectures are very interactive and you can tell she is passionate about what she teaches. I enjoyed the class, but the amount of homework and the little points each was worth was frustrating due to it being so time-consuming.

Ms.McCoy is a great professor and an amazing person with a real out-of-this-world personality. She doesn't waste time with boring lectures and gets straight to the point with the main topics you'll need to succeed. She gives simple assignments and her essays are straight forward and not at all complicated. I wish I could have her for every class.

The professor is amazing; however, this class was definitely not what I expected out of a history class. The class seemed more like an English class. I'm glad that I took it easy my first semester because I would have freaked out if I had a heavier courseload. All in all, the class is fun, you will LEARN, but you will do a lot of WRITING papers.

This professor was very good in giving feedback on homework and other stuff. Also she really nice person and a down the earth persson as well. There is a lot of extra credit opportunities in the course. A lot of reading involved in the course. But in all a really great course and a great professor would recommed taking this course.

Proffessor McCoy is a very engaging teacher. She also goes out of her way to make sure you have all of the information you would need to earn a passing grade in her class. She was very understanding that as students we have Many other classes, and let us take final exams and upload course assignmetns early on finals week! Overall Great Proffessor!!

Professor McCoy is extremely funny she's always open to help with things that you need help on. She is by the book when it comes to late assignments and grading which makes you wanna push yourself to get the work done. Didn't cover a lot of material during lectures, but did go over some. A lot of it is self guided and taught through reading and lots of assignments. She did offer a lot of extra credit and each class went over upcoming assignments and helped with any questions or concerns. Always fun and in a great mood.

History is usually boring to hear, but the professor made lectures fun and the assigments had very flexible due dates and quizzes and tests are rather easy. There are not a lot of assigment and the professor offers a lot of extra credit.

Professor McCoy has been my favorite professor at FSCJ. She is hilarious and makes the class enjoyable. She also breaks down all of the work to make it easy to understand and you will not be bored, trust me. I did take her 7 week course so if you are not able to keep up do not take the short course! Prof McCoy is engaging and passionate about her subject during online class time. Her assignments are not mundane or repetitive and allow for creativity. She also has a fun sense of humor. However, she can be difficult to follow, and the workload is dense.

Professor McCoy you can tell really cares about her craft and is passionate about teaching. Follow the rules and adhere to her grading criteria and you will do great in this class. DO NOT turn in after due date! The online meetings are full of energy and she is very knowledgeable about Florida's history and has a ton of patience.

I would recommend Professor McCoy, but keep in mind that this class (History of Florida, AMH 2070) requires a physical textbook, a novel, and her workbook that you must buy. I took this class in 7 weeks, but I'd suggest avoiding this if possible. There were about 2-5 assignments per week in addition to mandatory lectures. Final research paper

Super fun teacher. Most of the work is easy. I was able to use my notes on both exams. I took this course completely online & every Friday Professor McCoy was thorough & explained everything on point in my opinion. & she gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Awesome professor.

Professor McCoy was excellent as a professor! She's engaged with the class and made it entertaining while learning about American History. I recommend attending all the lectures and rewatching them for little nuggets of information. There's quite a bit of reading to do, and lots of extra credit offered.

Professor McCoy was extremely respectful when I suddenly lost my grandfather during spring break. She checked in on me and gave kind words to me and my family. She is also very good at keeping your attention during lectures, even if you find History boring I recommend taking her.

Prof. McCoy is one of a kind. She's caring, straight forward, enthusiastic, energetic, understanding and so much more. Taken a 7 week course is always difficult. She makes it easy for you to track and get it done. She also puts in extra credit just in case you miss an assignment, there is an opportunity to make it up with the extra credit.

Ms mccoy, allows students to make up some work, and even offers extra credit opportunities. She makes class time fun and engaging, which really helps with learning. The only challenge for me was the 9 p.m. end time—by the last 30 minutes, I'd start feeling tired—so I'll definitely schedule earlier classes next time. Overall, a great professor!

Professor McCoy is a wonderfully down to Earth teacher. She makes the material easy to understand by explaining it in simple terms without dumbing it down too severely and leaving out crucial information. Attendance is a must as you are graded for it and be prepared to always turn your assignments in on time because she does not accept late work.

This professor does teach history, so be prepared for plenty of work. Overall, she is fair in her grading and is charismatic towards her students.

She is very nice, but the course does require a huge amount of time reading between three separate textbooks. In the beginning, the homework may seem overwhelming, because she loads it on. She offers multiple opportunities for extra credit throughout the course which is nice. Please note she requires every assignment have detailed citations.

Professor McCoy is a great professor, she has a big personality. It can be a lot over an online call, I wish I had taken the class in person instead. She is very forgiving and understanding if you talk to her privately. Try to complete assignments before the due date because there is much to do.

She has a very bubbly personality which shows in her lectures. In turn her teaching style allows space for ideas to be voiced as long as you participate and ask questions. Overall the work may be a lot but a quarter you'll do in class, the rest is doable in 40 minutes on average. Tests are short but require you to read considerably.

Professor McCoy had an entertaining and unique class in teaching AMH2070, The History of Florida. She was funny, likable, and caring. She's great at giving extra credit, and her work is generally easy as long as you pace yourself.

Professor McCoy is the best!! Her class requires a lot of homework/ research but her instructions are clear and she's a very fair grader, no surprise deductions. Her lectures are amazing- yes, she is hilarious but she's very engaging with class. Not a dry online lecture like you get with most. I wish she could teach all my classes.

Ms. McCoy is a great teacher. The same can't be said for the class I took, AMH 2070, which is the main problem. This course was extremely difficult, even for a history-minded person like myself. It's easily the most difficult course I've ever taken, but I'm not sure how much of that rests on Ms. McCoy, as she's helpful and can be reached anytime.

However, it's important to be mindful that when grading, you will not receive full credit unless you've answered every question or done exactly what the project requires.
