He is straight to the point on what he expects out of his students and he is really clear when giving out assignments. He is hilarious and always willing to stay after class to help out students. His grading is fair and he gives extra credit. I highly recommend taking his class!

Mike is so nice and very helpful when i first took his class i wasn't looking forward to going. He is very funny he talks about the daily news everyday which is very nice. I recommend you all to take his class!!!

Mike is wonderful. He's always willing to help if you ask for it. I had a really bad 101b experience with another teacher last fall and I was not looking forward to take it again but this is so fun! There are lots of assignments and je loves pair works and group works. But he gives a lot of extra credit that pulls up my grade close to 100%!TAKE HIM

Best English teacher I've ever taken in my life! Weekly assignments but they are easy. Must come to class but it will be worth it because it will help you with the homework. One of my favorite teachers at Ohlone. He is very clear and makes everything interesting. It's hard to fall asleep in the class. He isn't like the old fashion teachers that just make you read and write on your own for 2 hours. He interacts with the class and has great enthusiasm. He is also very organized and prepared for each class.

Mike is a nice professor, his classes aren't boring& the workload is rather manageable. However, he is SUPER picky when it comes to grading essays. He will give you tons of points of for seemingly small things. He will meet w you to discuss how you can rewrite it, but even if you do all that he asks he will still not score you that high sometimes

Super straight forward and tells you what is expected for the class. All of his homework assignments were due the following Saturday, allowing ample amount of time to have it completed. Everyone said he was a tough grader, not really. Just don't mess up on the papers and do the extra credit, you'll get an A. Take him for 101C!!

Mike Taguchi is the BEST English teacher I've had thus far. He is extremely helpful. The feedback I've received on my papers and homework has helped me a lot. The lectures are always fun and he makes you think. He works with your schedule too, so if you can't make a deadline let him know & he will work with you. I HIGHLY recommend his class.

He is pretty good at lecturing and his class was relatively easy. The only regret is that I didn't get to practice my writing because he didn't assign many essays. He made it hard to fail the class, giving most of us a bypass on a presentation and research paper. Sometimes he can be confusing as to what he was looking for in some assignments.

He is a great teacher not only teaches you English but life skills. His lectures are interesting and he writes almost everything on broad. Only one in class essay, but multiple at home essays. No actual finals, just a final review. Do all the work with the best you can and he will give you chances to get an A. Definitely recommended.

Hands down the best professor I've ever had. He will do everything to help you with anything , and I really like the way how he started each class with interesting news and announcement . Not your average boring professor.

Although he is a tough grader and allows no grammar mistakes, but he allows you to revise paper with a low grade. He gives many extra credits, it is an easy B.

Best English teacher I have had. The lectures are so well done that I always take notes on what he says. Before he start the lecture, he would tell the class his opinions on the news and current events which I thought was super interesting. We had 8 essays I believe, however he only chooses the top 3. You don't have to do all the essays.

I learned a lot about writing essays and paper from Prof Mike. He is a perfect teacher for those, who want to learn. I am very grateful I chose him. I did 2 classes with him so far. You need to follow what he teaches in class and what he wants in his assignments. He provides good feedback to your writing and let you redo to score more.

Mike is great about answering emails. Teaches a lot about quoting techniques but not much else. The final research paper is a lot of work. Talks about the interesting news (not political) which is nice. Ask a lot of questions cause thats how you will get an A. Tells you what is on the final. Nice guy! You can be very late to class but good luck!

If you want to improve your English, I suggest to better taking his class! He always explains clearly and I learn so much from him. You should take this class!

Professor Mike is really great and he cares about his students. if you go to him and tell him your situation he will give you extensions. He explains everything well and give redo's so you have no excuse to fail, Can be a tough grader sometimes but he gives second chances so works out well. lectures are great as well, a lot of easy assignments too.

Professor Taguchi was one of my FAVORITE professors at Ohlone. Loved going to class & listening to the news. He color codes his notes and is very well organized. He is very precise when it comes to grading essays but b/c of that I am a truly better writer. My advice? Complete all the homework EARLY and don't slack!

Mike is easily my favorite professor this semester. Hes very helpful and cares about his students. Grades a little hard on essays but is reasonable. Work load is mediocre, not too much. Very honest and real w/ his students. He allows redos, even on essays. A few easy quizzes. Final is not too difficult, just time consuming. Def would take again.

Amazing professor. Let's you redo any assignment you receive a low grade on. The textbook is used for reading assignments. Prepare for a lot of classwork. As long as you listen to feedback and turn in your work this is an Easy A.

I am so glad to have taken Taguchi for my first semester of English at Ohlone. He was the funniest lecturer and everything he talked about, he would give a little story about. His grading is hard on essays but don't worry at all because you can redo any of your work if you don't like the grade that you received.

His 101A-07 class was really easy. All you have to do is listen carefully about what he wants during his lectures and meet his criteria when you write essays/do homework. He allows redos and his feedback is very straightforward. Easy A class.

Very good professor. He really wants to students to improve, and he gives detailed feedback on what you can do better. Do expect lots of reading and response questions though. Each paper you are given feedback for each stage of rough drafts. Final exam is fairly easy, he mentions everything to be expected.

Very chill teacher, class consists of simple lectures. Only really have to be there for group assignments. Homework isn't hard at all and only one paper. He will help everyone succeed.

His lectures are absolutely enjoyable and he is an easy grader. There is weekly reading homework where you have to answer questions from the textbook, but that is easy as well. He also goes easy on the APA paper and the final wasn't very difficult either. He uploads the weekly lecture notes, and goes with you step by step how to write your paper.

Prof is great overall. But when it comes to writing essays, he has his own rules. If you don't follow his instructions, he will grade you poorly. But you have multiple attempts to redo them until the deadline. He will literally guide you and give you straight answers if you don't understand the assignment and approach him after class.
