This class is pretty lame! and I never know what he expects us to be working on - ZzZzZzZzZzZzZz
RUN!!!!!!!!!!
If you like teachers who are organized and you like knowing what is expected of you, then this is NOT the professor to have for ENG101!
Lots of confusion in the class. Not clear about what is to be done or when things are due.
He is a nice guy but He's confusing and very difficult to get a good grade in his class.
Prof. A is an excellent professor. He cares deeply about his students and the course content. If you are looking for an fair, intelligent professor who cares about teaching and your learning, and does not make the class very easy just to get good recommendations, then this is the class for you.
He is SO unclear of EVERYTHING. Nothing is ever prepared for us when it is supposed to be. I learned nothing in this class.
I enjoyed Mr. Anderson's online English class. He was clear with his assignments and his lectures were helpful and tied in nicely with the assigned textbook. He replied to every one of my e-mails and took an interest in my writing. I enjoyed him as a teacher.
Funny little man with lots of quirks and throat noises. Seemed uncomfortable in the classroom. He often got off track and seemed to lose his thoughts a lot. I stayed for the whole semester and really didn't learn much of anything. Maybe he is sick--ill?
Took this course online. Teacher never available by e-mail or phone. Had very difficult time figuring out assignments...due dates...etc. If this was the 1st writing course I had taken, I would have quit writing. Try anyone else if you hope to gain knowledge about writing. Assignments are graded months after turning them in.
understanding, fun classes
He is a good teacher; however, he is very unorganized. Gives a lot of assignements at the last minute. Long hard final exam. Walked into final not knowing what my grade is.
I took this class online because I love to write even though english has nothing to do with my major. I liked the class but it was VERY hard to follow. There went a whole month when he didnt contact the class and then all of a sudden we had like 5 assignments due.
Mr. Anderson is an interesting guy who plays music for his class which was different. He's very confusing and vague but if you ask him he'll explain things. he's easy going and we only had to do one essay. I don't think I'd take him again, and i don't feel I learned much but it wasn't that hard and you can pull a fairly grade in his class.
I have had Mr. Anderson for eng 102 in person, and creative writing online. He wasn't the best for english, but it wasn't hard, but he's a ton better for creative writing. I think he's more into that. There were a few porblems getting assignment info up on time, but overall I liked the class. :)
He's just a strange character with lotsa nervous tics. He's often late to class too. He doesn't seem comfortable talking to a group.
This guy was a joke. Always late to class, sometimes didn't show. Has to pressing of political agenda. Prejudice towards military which in my case was hard. Refused to show me grade for projects and final grade. Had to go to administration. This teacher is a waste of money and time. I gotta C for "unknown" reasons. Did every assignment. Don'tbother
He is a horrible teacher. We would have to schedule appointments and wouldn't show up on time. He would tell us to come in to pick stuff up at his office, again not there nor did he leave the stuff there. He doesn't plan very well and i never knew when anything was due so i most stuf would be late for me. which most of the time cost my grade.
It was hard to get into his class. His feedback was very limited and on some instances when military history came up, he seemed to be against it. Prior/current military avoid his classes. He's somewhat lenient if out-of-control situations arise but it takes days for responses. Overall, not the worst professor, but a lot of room for improvement.
This short, rotund man showed up for class late or didn't bother showing up at all. How does he keep his job? No feedback was given on papers until AFTER the course was long over--and that was only when you called or visited his office repeatedly or complained to the department chair about wanting your graded papers. Go somewhere else to learn!
Mr. Anderson regularly called in sick and failed to show up or was late for class. He was very slow giving feedback on papers, too. He also leers at the young women (I'm a male in my twenties), makes some inappropriate comments to them, and comes across as a dirty old man. I just want to learn to write better and go on to English 102!
I took Dr. Anderson for both English 101 and English 102. I thought he was a great professor and a very interesting, and genuine person. Because I always did my homework on time, Dr. Anderson was able to check my work, and hand it back to me before the due date so I could make necessary corrections. Great teacher!
It's like the last comment must have been written by the instructor himself! Mr. Andersen does not show up to class every couple weeks, sometimes with a note about sickness and sometimes not. He is super disorganized, and others say, and he only hands back graded papers near the end of class so can't learn! He leers at the females too.
I didn't experience the negatives that other people did. I took his Creative Writing class online, and I have no problems to report. The class moves fast, and he does take a little long to respond to emails and to grade, but I didn't think he was terrible at all! I learned a lot and felt his grading was fair.
he is a horrible teacher, i do not believe that he could teach himself english if he tried.
Frequently late for class, or dismissed after 15 min of wasting time.Papers returned late with points removed w/o a reason-even when asked to explain. Required to take 75+ online quizzes but didn't hand out the list until last 2 wks of class. Bought 3 books, barely used. Rarely taught grammar, and was completely disorganized w/unclear assignments
Great teacher! Take his online class, you will not regret it.
I heard a rumor that the instructor wrote the last August 2009 comment. Must have. I took his online composition course and it took him WEEKS to return assignments, and some never got returned. He only answered two of my emails out of eleven. I just counted! One answer didn't even address my question. My advice? Run for the hills!
I have only had him for a few weeks so far, and everybodies comments seem not true in my situation. He was late to class the first couple of days but ever since he has been there before i have, and i get there earlyand he has not taken one sick day.i am expecting some work from him that is one week late, but other than that i have no problem with him
Can be a little aloof at times. Overall nice guy.
Dr. Anderson is a wonderful professor,he was extremely helpful, answered my many emails in a very timely manner and regularly offered feedback. It did take a bit long to get essays back but I would challenge anyone to grade 150+essays in a short amount of time.He doesn't just skim through the essay,it is graded thoroughly so you can actually learn.
The prior comments are exactly what Mr. Andersen said to my class each week! Like another person, I have to bet that he wrote those comments. Okay. He is pervy, gets to class late, has excuses for not having papers graded, claims papers were not submitted when they were (my classmates started keeping extra copies), and he is rarely prepared.
he wasted so much time that could have been spent researching for the paper we have to write at the end of the semester (8-12 pages). He wrote his own text book calle the "Supplemental Reading Packet" a bunch of stories he complied and expects you to complete a summary and in class writing for each,we didn't get it for 3-4 weeks into the semester.
Absolute worst teacher to have ever been licensed. How dare he flaunt his "Dr" title. Students literally don't show up or leave in the middle of his useless class. He NEVER clafifies anything. He thinks he is funny when he shows ridiculous youtube videos its embarassing. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! I don't know how this man was hired as a teacher.
Overall, the class was not that difficult. A little more clarity in the assignment would have been nice but it was simple to figure out what needed to be done. He knows his stuff and makes class more interesting when he shows random youtube clips in class. Pretty fun class and simple to take.
I had I hard time in his class. He was very unclear about assignments. I would not recommend him to anyone
He's a nice guy but could be a lot more clear about the assignments and how he wants them done.
This class was a very easy class if you stayed ahead on your assignments. it was very hard to follow, though I must admit. He was very unclear on some assgnments and they seemed to be different everytime he explained one. He was nice and tried to help you as much as he could, but I was still left a bit confused throughout the semester.
This class was a waste of time, do not take this teacher. He made up his own book called the "Supplemental Reading Pckt" and we did not get it until 4 weeks or so into the semester. The packet was a waste of time. Honestly, I learned nothing in this class. Generally nice guy, completely useless as a teacher. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Very informative class and it was very easy. I learned alot more about writing research papers.
It was a awesome class!!!
This class is easy if you do the work and communicate with the teacher. If you ask him questions after class he will do his best to answer questions, so if you're confused, ASK QUESTIONS. There's only 1 major writing assigment. It was the least stressful English class I have ever taken. There are in-class writing assignments, but nothing terrible.
Dr. Anderson is a very nice, and helpful teacher. The class is interesting because it is based on tricksters and conartits.
i didn't get the point of this class or why it was based on tricksters. kinda pointless, but other than that he's good a teacher who really takes interest in what he teaches.
very good teaching methods and interest in what he does
Mr. Anderson was very useful in class. He was such a great teacher and i learned a lot from him. He really showed up how to do research on the computer and how to put together a research paper. He was overall just such a great teacher.
Dr. Anderson creates unique experiences for each semester, this semester everything related to the archetype of trickster mythology. theres was enough busy work to weed out the lazies, but not too much to overwhelm. the final paper was killer though, but he provides tons of support, feedback and direction so that helped a lot.
the professor is very helpful. has lots of manners, very polite, and not rude when you need help..
Mr. Anderson was very helpful. He offered a variety of activities to teach us different learning methods. He was almost too lenient with people who turned in things that were late, but that is nice.
This course was a very challenging class for me. I learned a lot of new ways to write a research paper and It was very helpful. Anderson was a very good professor.
Mr. Anderson is fun to talk to. He has interesting stories, and he always shows interest on what his students have to say. He wants to hear everybody's opinion. I believe he is a great professor. I recommend to everybody who needs to take Eng102, to take it with him.
He didn't go over the topics very well. We always had very limited time to do the assignments.
I really enjoyed this class and I thought the professor was very helpful in every way. He made things clear and easy for us ti understand and if we didnt understand he would help us through it. I would recommend anyone who needs this class to take it.
This class wasn't hard at all, but if you don't keep up with the in class writings and summaries at the beginning of the semester, it's a pain to do at the last minute. Mr. Anderson is pretty cool but sometimes isn't totally clear on what he wants done but as long as you ask questions to clarify it'll all make sense.
Overall I was pleased with the class, however there were some assignements that I didn't feel were necessary. For example, I didn't think it was necessary to present our research topic to the rest of the class, no one really cared what I was writing about. I do appreciate how you helped me find my topic and again, I enjoyed taking your class.
He was lenient when we had a hard time finishing our work.
Keith is a great professor. He sometimes doesn't explain things clearly at first, but he'll clarify if you just ask. His assignments aren't difficult and anyone with the intelligence of a 12-year-old could easily pass his class. He's also a decent dulcimer player.
great teacher!
great teacher, great class, lotta fun, great time, pizza was awesome!
This class was very light hearted and fun. I enjoyed taking this course. Professor Anderson is very easy going and full of fun facts. He also engages the students in every lesson.
It seems like the latest comments had to be written by Mr. Anderson himself because he was consistently unprepared, late for class, took up to three weeks to return papers (some he lost!), and he had difficulty communicating main ideas to the class on a weekly basis. I encourage you to take a class with someone else!
Mr. Kieth Anderson just shouldn't be a teacher, especially at the college level. He seems to try really hard but flounders. His explanations fall short and he continually gets confused about what he assigns and when he assigns it. I felt sorry for him and I felt sorry for me for having him as a teacher of such an important composition class.
Stated simply, I wasted my money and my time! I look an online modern fiction class and got two papers returned--by US MAIL!! One did not even have any grade! I never got my five other assignments returned. I also never got my emails answered but twice he said he'd get back to me--and never did. Mesa CC's online classes are horrible.
Mr. Anderson or "Dr.K" as he likes to call himself was possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. My class was online and yet for some reason he only sent out maybe 5 emails the whole class, and the majority of them were to tell us he had not yet completed his end of the work. He was rude and pretentious. If you want to learn don't take his class
I loathed this class and i like english! He gave us our assignments late because he was behind on his wrk but didn't change the due date so we had a week to complete a month long assignment. However if u talk to him and ask ?'s he'll love you and if you ask to push an assignment due date back he will. He's a push over and SO unorganized. DONT TAKE!
Took class online. He seems nice enough at first but he was very slow at grading assignments. We did 5 essays and I only had 1 back when I was wrote final essay. He is unorganized but at the same time willing to accomidate you if you are the same way. It makes it tough to learn from your mistakes when you don't know about them until class is over!
Keith was amazing. He was fair on his grading and 40% of the grade is on a board game which was simple. He offers two tries on the test and its the same exact test so just writ the answers down the first time on a separate paper. He offers 50pts extra credit and if you do the extra credit you can skip the final. It was an easy class and I got an A
Assignment instructions were ambiguous at best. Questions per email (only available contact method) were answered well after assignments were due even if questions were asked weeks in advance. Assignment instructions would even be posted after due dates in some cases. Completely disorganized. This online class was an easy but frustrating A.
Took the class online was breeze, not sure what others are complaining about. Each assignment was clearly laid out, if you do the work there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get an A. Only word of advice is if you take the online class make sure you respond to at least two other students discussion posts or you will get docked points.
I don't understand why there are so many negative comments. His class was fun -even though it was online- and he was more than willing to help out with deadlines and kept in constant contact with his students. If you want a class that requires a riding crop and an extremely tense setting, this is not for you. This class is fun SO APPRECIATE IT!
I loved this teacher. I learned so much from his class. The topics we researched and wrote about were so thought provoking and helped me learn so much. Fair grader, straight forward assignments, helpful, insightful and best of all no book for the class. :-)
Keith is a genuinely nice guy. He is very understanding and realistic. However, the class was not organized, the assignments were unclear/ unavailable on Canvas, and he focused on games. You heard right... we did not write one paper. This sounds all good and fun, until you realize how hard/irrelevant it is. I wouldn't recommend this class.
Prof Anderson was nice and understood that life happens. My problem was there was a lack of communication w/ the class. Several assignments had NO directions to them or were irrelevent. By the time he would respond to your questions, the assignment was late. 75% of them weren't graded until the semester was over so I had no clue what my grade was!
Semester is done and 34 aren't graded. Asked 2 questions during the semester. 1 ignored completely. 2 responded after the assignment was due. Over 12 the points for the class: 2 1500 word research papers due in one weekend. For the final 1500 wasn't even unlocked to decifer the confusing directions until the day before
If I could drop now, I would! There is no communication at all, he does not explain any of the assignments in class, we are expected to take quizzes on canvas about topics we have not even learned or discussed. Even if you directly ask him for help or when an assignment is due, he changes the subject and ignores you. Least favorite class by far.
Professor did not grade papers until end (about two thirds were graded in last week) . Little to no feedback to improve. Half of the class points were due with the final-two 1500 page papers-- on weekend right before Thanksgiving. When asked questions via email, he did not respond. Don't expect ANY feedback. You are on your own!
Easy work just alot, laid back , takes forever to grade assingments. Overall not a hard class just show up.
This instructor was great, he gave clear expectations, was funny and helpful with feedback, very laid back class and I enjoyed the study material. Definitely one of my favorite instructors so far.
I really enjoyed Professor Anderson's class! I had him this semester for Humanities through the Arts. I learned many new things about art and culture, and it was very interesting. Professor Anderson is always there if you have questions, is a fair grader, and his assignments were relevant and clear cut. Would take again, and definitely recommend!
Good guy, horrible teacher. Nothing was ever up to date, he was very unclear on ALL work we had to complete. You are required to watch plays go to museums. Terrible first year of college because of him.
He is a very good guy, a bit corky, but very friendly. His assignments are easy but he takes forever to grade anything. The way he presents assignments is confusing (how and when he wants them) but he'll always help if you have questions. He mostly allows late work, overall an easy A if you do all of the assignments.
As a student it disappoints me to be in this class. Professor is chronically late and it is difficult to tell whether I am in ENG102 or a humanities class. There is little to know actually teaching going on. Assignments are vague and disorganized. Grading is slow. Professor is a nice man, but not an effective teacher for those who want to learn.
Great humanities teacher, not the best ENG 102 teacher. Assignments were unorganized and sometimes unclear. One of those classes where its hard to bring yourself to do the assignments. Kind of assigned a lot of home work. Although, he is an awesome, friendly guy and very knowledgeable.
Taken Spring 2016. He is very organized but is late to his morning class. He is a very kind teacher (on antidepressants). But he extremely knowledgeable about storytelling and makes it look easy. Must attend his lectures to find out when due date are and instructions on homework.
GOOD TEACHER BUT BORING
I believe Mr. Anderson has the best intentions, but he easily sidetracks himself. Beware, he does take a long time to grade your work, but to talk to in class, he is a very nice guy.
Professor Anderson was very laid back. The assignments were made to challenge you and make you really think. Attendance really didn't affect anything as long as you submitted your assignments. Overall his class was fun and interesting.
material is interesting & videos and books he has you read are cool but quizzes are horrible it is deceiving b/c he says it is open book & no time limit but answers are nearly impossible to find It seems like he gives two correct answers b/c text or video mentions both but you have to guess it comes down to a guess there is some extra credit though
I took Mr. Anderson's HUM 211 online class and really enjoyed it! Be prepared to rent/watch alot of foreign films BUT most of them were really good. The assignments are straight forward and you're able to work ahead. Easy A if you complete all assignments. Only downside he's very slow to responding to emails and takes a while to post grades.
I do not exaggerate to any degree when I say he has been 15 minutes late to every single class. Nothing gets done and everything is very vague. Wish he would show respect for our time, feels like he is just coming for a paycheck. Sitting in his class makes you rethink how youre wasting your time and money on it
I would say the worst thing about him is he's always late to class, takes forever to grade things and can be spacey. Otherwise, he is not a bad teacher, he's fair about things, if you need help he will gladly assist. Extremely nice.
I liked Keith Andersen's class, his passion for the material, and his feedback on writing assignments. Some negatives were it took a long time to get graded on work, and some of the test questions felt like trick questions aimed at getting you to miss them intentionally.
To quote this professor, "The zero is to get your attention". My class was English 102: We made board games and learned nothing about English, he was consistently late to class, and conducted himself supremely unprofessionally online. There was no book, no syllabus, and no teaching. Class time became designated "free time" to develop our game.
Unorganized, he doesn't grade anything till the end of the semester so you never know your current grade. You have very few things you have to do in the class but there worth a ton of points which again sucks when you dont know your grade. Hes AWFUL!The english 102 class before mine hes 15-30mins late EVERY DAY and it's only an hour long class .
Prof. Anderson is okay. He's nice enough... but he doesn't really teach too much. He plugs in movies and gives random unorganized assignments that usually take forever to complete. He's honestly a nice guy, but he doesn't respond quick or grade fast. Slow... boring.. always late to class... mediocre teacher.
He is horrible at communicating especially now that we are online. I liked a zoom meeting but we only had one and he never replies to emails or canvas comments. Slow to grade. If you miss class it is hard to do his weekly reflections. ALWAYS TALKING about war and non english stuff and plays random movies/films. Confusing unclear assignments
He takes forever to respond to you. I will email him in regards to an assignment and he wont respond until the day before its due which is not helpful at all. Very bad at communicating, especially now online.
With this class being online, it made it extra hard. He was horrible at responding, didnt have clear instructions, and made things way more difficult than needed. I worked my butt off and finished with an A but you really need to try in order to succeed it felt like. Textbook was required but only used it once so dont waste your money.
This was hands down the worst professor I have ever had. He never actually held class. We would be there conversing with each other until deciding to call it quits on waiting for him to show up. He chose war history as the theme for this English class and unless you are a history buff.. good luck. He was very sarcastic and rude the entire semester.
Please don't take his class. I had to contact the director of humanities and dean in order for him to get his ass in gear. His online course was riddled with technological problems, and he took 2 months to grade anything. I haven't learned anything in this class. His assignments are A LOT for just a humanities class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!
I took the videogame class he offers and read the comments on here before taking the class. Wanted to give him the benefit of doubt but honestly he is THAT bad. Unorganized, information overload, takes forever to grade, didn't give assignments for almost two months and then dropped it all on us 2 weeks before the semester ended. No structure at all
This is the worst teacher I ever took. I sent a lot message, emails but NON OF THEM was responded. Late assignments were given. He graded all the assignment in the last week of the semester. I did not know what to improve during the course. Wonder how he's still allowed to teach. WORST OF THE WORST.
Easy going in a bad way. Literally no assignments for weeks, just sitting in class hearing him talk about subjects. I had to stop myself from falling asleep, as well as the fact that he was almost always late. Please don't take this class unless you are ready to be bored out of your mind. Ps. He's kind but a bit too soft to actually listen to...
* Very hard to get ahold of. * Very opinionated and passionate, which is fine if not expressed in class. * Requires a lot of assignments with writing, but doesn't always have clear grading criteria. * Doesn't always provide good or useful feedback, if at all. * Condensending at times...
3 weeks in and every night I contemplate dropping this class but the amount of work I've done already makes me feel like it would be a complete waste to do that. I take adderall and I can't even keep up with this singular class, every single night i've done at least 3 assignments (that include MULTIPLE BIG PARTS in each one). I want to end it all.
Takes a VERY long time to grade and give you feedback. I didn't care much to know for my grade, but I really value feedback and I didn't receive any until weeks and weeks later. &, response time is slow - email him 3-4 days before. Difficult class. Wouldn't take again. (or any other of his classes) He was very respectful, however.
This teacher is the worst teacher I ever I have sent him 5 emails and he has not responded to nothing he give a zero on a assessment and he never sayed that we needed to buy a book I would not take a class with this teacher I would also tell mcc that he is not responding to no one
Honestly, he is very unprofessional and doesn't provide rubrics. Additionally, he waited until the last week of class to grade assignments from week one. Moreover, he overcomplicates every assignment. Overall, I would never retake it.
Professor Anderson's class was a mixed bag. The lectures were often disorganized, and he could be unpredictable. However, the assignments were manageable, and Unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool. Overall, it's a passable class if you stay engaged.
He would cancel classes often & on days we actually had class, he was usually late. However, he was a super nice guy and the assignments were a breeze. If you're looking for some easy credits, take this class.
He's not a great professor, takes MONTHS to grade things. I have assignments from February that have not been graded. He taught a disabilities course and I felt like I learned nothing from him, I was hoping to gain more knowledge and it was mostly just movies. He also disappeared for 4 weeks with no communication. I'd avoid his class at all costs.
Contemplated dropping this class due to most of the assignments being worth half your grade. One bad assignment will drop you a whole letter grade, takes forever to grade. The elective was harder than all of my core classes expect to read a lot! He posts assignments, threatens to ding you on your final if you complete before he wants it completed.
While he did cancel classes and was late often, he made up for it through his easy assignments. The class is an easy A, if you're fine with it being primarily online, take Keith.
