Class meets once per week, so you need to study and do the homework on your own time and stay organized. In class Professor Boswell focuses on practicing what we have learned, and mostly has people work in groups which makes it easier. His grading is very fair, and has a great teaching style. He is funny and very helpful. Great teacher!

Bobswell is a great professor and his class is fairly simple, expect to spend 4 hours a week on online work.

Great professor. He teaches a difficult subject (foreign language) and still manages to make it fun. Very funny and goes out of his way to explain something when you don't understand. Really cares about his students and wants them to grasp the material. You will have to study hard and work for a good grade. I learned a lot from his class!

One of the best Professor's I've had in college. He is clear on expectations, fast to respond to questions (even on Sunday afternoon!), fair and really want's you to succeed. The material is hard but a core requirement, so glad I took that class with Professor Boswell.

A lot of homework, but helps you when you're stuck. Do the discussions and read the textbook. Use outside resources as well. Keep notes for each lesson and write down the subtitles for the videos to understand them. Two presentations in Spanish that aren't too hard. All in all, easy in places hard in others.

Good professor. You will have to do 2 videos (1 min long each) in Spanish - but he is very generous when grading these.

Profe Keith is a great instructor. If you are having trouble he is easy to get in touch with and gives you suggestions on resources to help you through his class. You must complete the assigned work for your grade. He is very helpful and accommodating. I'm glad I signed up with him for my Spanish Summer term.

As an online student, it is important to me that my professors have clear expectations, outline the requirements in orderly ways, are available when I need help, and make me feel as if I am truly part of their class as opposed just another person behind a computer. Professor Boswell goes out of his way to help his students. Not going to lie, online Spanish is hard. The VHL Central homework takes a lot of time and the chapter tests are difficult. But if you show Professor Boswell that you are trying, he will do everything he can to get you through the class. Don't give up and you should do okay.

Spanish is a difficult course to take online, you must learn to practice a lot on your own. Professor Boswell gives good feedback and provides many resources to help you better understand the material.

I took this professor for both Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 online. He wants you to do well in the class and even has study sessions and class tutors to reach out to. There is a lot of reading and several hours of homework, but you are learning a language so it's to be expected. If you don't study you won't do well but if you do you will do great!

Great professor. Very helpful and takes his job seriously. This will be a hard class. languages take a lot more effort. but its nice to know that you have a professor that is there to help you. For online students, he has office hours that you can meet with him virtually (for online students). Students that don't succeed don't put effort in.

Great class and grate professor. Everything is explained in depth and you are never weary of what to do or study. This is a language so it will be harder than most of your other intro classes. Do the work and you'll get a good grade. keith is very helpful.

I am a non traditional student taking classes because I lost my job because of Covid. I took spanish two a decade after spanish one and was pretty nervous about that fact. Professor Keith always responded to my e-mails and questions immediately, going above and beyond his job requirements to encourage me and make me laugh. Thanks man!

He's a great professor! I'd definitely take him for another course. He responded to all my questions faster than any other professor I've had, which I think is really important for an online class.

Professor Boswell is another speedy Gonzalez, he's really great at responding real time which was very helpful throughout the online course. All I will say is you put in what you get, learning a new language will require a lot of time and dedication. The course itself through the online portal is straight forward and easy to understand.

I feel Professor Boswell understands that it is difficult to learn a different language. I feel he knows that students who really focus on the material and utilize the different tools to learn, that learning another language doesn't have to be so overwhelming. I appreciate the realism.

Profe Keith is a gem! He's super accomodating with me (a nonbinary disabled student) and being in class with him twice a week was a highlight of my summer. His flipped classroom model is PERFECT for language & his teaching style helps you feel that much more comfortable asking questions in class. You get what you put into it, so study hard! 10/10!

He always welcome feedbacks and opinions. I still could hardly believe that I learned (got) way too much from his class within one short summer SPAI&II. And this is THE MOST AMAZING part.

Mr. Boswells class is worth taking, especially if you are looking to really learn and speak. I took his class in the summer online and it went by quickly. The most challenging was having all VHL Homework and tests done every week while balancing another class and work. Overall very good class, you just have to do the work.

Fun class. Lots of learning games.

I took this class face to face and was glad I did. Profe (what he goes by) used different modalities, including songs, stories, and puzzles, to help us understand the content. He made sure everyone participated (in a non-threatening way) by putting you in groups or pairs to do activities. The VHL homework (a lot) prepares you for the unit tests.

The accelerated hybrid class was a challenge. The professor created fun participating class activities. Was serious and engaging in the material and supportive.

He really gets how to teach language, and has the experience to back it up. I really enjoyed and felt inspired by his teaching, and feel like even though the class I'm taking is accelerated, I will be leaving the class more capable of understanding and speaking Spanish. Gracias, profe!

This is my favorite class and professor thus far! It is a lot of work, but that is expected when your learning a language. Its not something you can read once and be done. A few classmates and I made a study group to practice more. Profe Boswell makes this class so much fun. He uses games and fun and engaging tactics that make this fun memorable!

Professor Boswell is truly a gem! He really cares about his students and is personable but still knowledgeable. The course load can be heavy if you have other responsibilities and it is primarily based online, but if you put in the work you are guaranteed to succeed.

Professor Boswell is amazing he understands that language is hard to learn and try's his hardest to help you understand the content. His classes are helpful and he makes learning fun by creating games using content from the chapters. Attendance is worth 25% of your grade so make sure to attend class.

Fantastic professor, very fun class. He makes learning Spanish understandable and interesting. I liked his class a lot and was not expecting to enjoy a Spanish class. The class is about as difficult as you'd expect from a foreign language class, but he focuses on keeping the students from getting behind and making sure they will pass.

Its not an easy class in my opinion. You are required to do all work assigned and submit on time. It requires effort to pass but he is there to help when needed. He is fair. He makes sure you are aware of the requirements for the course and there are quite a bit! He is professional and very knowledgeable.

I'd give Prof. Boswells class a difficulty level of 3.75/5. Any foreign language class you take, isn't going to be easy or average. It will be a little hard because you are learning a whole diff. language so expect a little challenge if you want to learn it and pass. But Prof. did keep class interesting + provides a variety of study resources.

Profe Keith has made my online Spanish course a lot less stressful than I anticipated. He has a very fast email reply rate, his instructions are printed clearly in multiple places, and is very organized. I am online only but he has made it clear to his online course that he is available on campus during his listed hours.

Professor Keith was great. I took the 8 week Spanish 101 course. It is a lot of homework because it is a flip course but I liked it. I was able to learn on my own then we do homework in class together. If you don't like to teach yourself and have a lot to do when you get home. I wouldn't take this class. But I really enjoyed it.

There is a lot of information to learn in this course I would recommend taking the full-term class. This professor makes the class fun and welcoming. Within 2 weeks you will know everyone in the class by name. He does fun activities to help you better understand the material and works with you to help you through the course.

I took his online Term A Intermediate Spanish class. Everything is accesible from the beginning. A clump of assignments are due for the midterm and final, along side discussions. The work can be difficult at times but he adds videos to help understand. I got injured, stopping me from doing hw for a sec. He understood and worked with me throughout.

Profe Keith has probably been my favorite instructor in all my time at DSC. He cares about his students and takes time to explain things. I'm hoping I can take as many Spanish courses with him as I can.

Professor Boswell made learning Spanish fun and engaging. There is a lot of practice involved and a lot of cultural insight gained in the book that is used.

I love Professor Keith. His classes arent lecture-heavy because his class is hybrid so we do the reading at home and come to class and review. I love how he puts us in partners because it gives us time to actually try and engage in conversation. Downside is VHL. It can get lengthy if you do not keep up. He responds to emails almost immediately too.

As long as you apply yourself and use time management to get your work done this class is great. Easy to navigate work and clear instructions. Boswell always answers questions on time and I have never had to wait long for a reply. He offers a variety of materials to help you understand and learn.

Great professor, I had him for Spanish I and II. He really helps with providing great examples for speaking assignments and helping you prepare for future tests. I wish I had him for all subjects, definitely recommend you enroll in a course of his!

I am an older student and I thought taking a language would be difficult, but Profe has made learning Spanish enjoyable. We interact with each other (students) during class to practice speaking and have the option to ask questions if we do not understand. I stress the importance of doing your homework and practice, practice, practice.

Great professor and course

As an adult taking this course, I thought I was going to have a hard time grasping it. I definitely need to work on my pronunciation and grammar I love forward to take Spanish 2 with Professor Boswell. He is very helpful, and the construction criticizing is very helpful for myself as that is how I learn.

I highly recommend professor Keith. He is strict in some aspects as far as no makeup work besides in class quizzes and being at every class and especially on time. These things are good and I think helps contribute to success in this class. He is pretty reasonable and if there truly was an emergency I think would be lenient. Overall amazing.

If you take hybrid class write down questions during your coursework to ask professor Keith during in person class. His explanations help with getting through the class and gain understanding of basics of spanish.

My names Matthew Malott. I am taking Spanish 1 Summer A term with only the final to go. I can say that Prof Boswell is very straightforward and helpful. He has a very straightforward assignment schedule as well that has made taking two half semesters of Spanish 1 and 2 as much of a breeze as could be. This class requires your full attention.

This was an online course and it was not difficult at all. Assignments are completed through VHL and he has video speaking assignments and discussion posts. He is not a hard grader at all and his expectations are stated clearly. I wish I could have taken him for Spanish I too. I definitely recommend his class.

For an online class, he was the most thorough teacher I had. He always posted feedback and summary videos after major tests and chapters, and gave lots of feedback and help with what will be on tests etc. He also graded the final more for fluency than gramatic accuracy. Which i appreciated a lot.

Profe has all the tools you need to succeed, from videos to textbook, everything is there. If you ever have any questions shoot him an email, his response time is great! If I ever felt like the load was too much, I expressed it to my Profe and we figured out what to do to get on track! Take this class, it's worth it!

He is a native Spanish speaking, so he is very knowledgeable about the subject he teaches. Allows students to retake tests they score lower than a C-. Participation will count for 25% of your final grade if you take the in person class. You will be paired with another student each class to work on assignments that reinforce the lessons. Very nice.

Great professor! The class is extremely well organized with all material and supplementary material in both FOL and VHL. Currently taking a Summer class with him and it's a lot of homework, but I think that's just Summer. Even still, it is very manageable like this and he ensures that he is there to support you and help you pass.

As an accelerated course,was heavy in assignments as well as homeworks. But,being organized and keep spreading the work,you will succeed!! Also,you have many practical tools,like VHL videos,flascards,or ASC !!!

Yes, this course has a heavy load with assignments, class and video discussions, but that's expected in a six-week accelerated format. I chose to take Spanish during A & B Summer sessions since these are my final two classes. It's intense but worth it—Professor Boswell is fantastic and truly supports our success.

Profe Keith is a great teacher. He cares about his students and is honest when there are problems with a grade. You can tell he loves teaching, and that's important because it makes him even better at his job. He even has a tutor who comes to class, which is really helpful. If you are falling behind he will let you know before it is to late.

This professor is hands down the best Spanish teacher. He is very lenient with homework assignments when it's due and his grading is fair.

This course was intense due to it being a condensed summer course, (16 weeks compacted into 6) but he made it easy to follow. He was very easy to get in touch with, communicated well and often with the class and offered tutoring. He was an excellent online professor and would probably be an entertaining and engaging professor to take in person.

Professor Keith was a great professor! There was a lot of coursework in VHL, but it was manageable. In class, we did lots of activities that really helped me memorize the things we were learning. Great two semesters and understanding professor, not a fan of partner assignments as not everyone is available at the same times.

Very good and very understanding

The class started off rocky with group assignments but Prof. Boswell surveyed his students and removed the partner assignments which boosted everyone's grades. Not many professors would do this. He is very fair with grading test and does well to implement lectures into his online course. I will be taking him again for SPA II.
