This dude is one of the best profs out there!!
anyone who can make the canadian constition interesting is a very sexy man!
Awesome Prof
Canadians aren't so difficult to understand anymore...
A true expert in his field. The school is very lucky to have him

Fantastic Prof, knows his stuff, funny.
This guy is great and knows his stuff and makes Canadian Politics, Canadian Law and Justice and Canadian History interesting!!! Some how over the years Professors have defaced this subject by making it boring, Brownsey doesn't.
great prof
Alberta politics isn't so menially boring when it's taught by Dr. Brownsey.
This guy is irritating and outside a clique of favorite students has no interest in the class as a whole. He wastes entire classes bragging and is usually late. Marco Navarro is much better.
Wouldn't have been able to get through this dry and boring subject without Brownsey! Great prof
He doesn't warn you in advance of canceled classes, he just doesn't show up. One week he didn't show up for 2/3 classes!
late/absent too often
Funny and entertaining prof. Sometimes he rambles so you don't learn as much as you could, and he's a little intimidating to ask for help, but he makes the class fun and interesting. He marks hard.

You need to make a point of getting into his good graces, there would appear to be a lot of favoritism and something of a clique.
Very nice prof and very approachable. Funny as hell, makes very boring subjects very interesting. Pretty hard not to like this prof. He grades fairly easy, if you get on the same page as him.
You learn about the way politics operate in "real life." Thanks to Keiths great connections and life experiences, you get a look at how the system works second hand. Funny as hell, very smart, maybe a little to smart...but very easy to ask for h
The best teacher ive had so far. Very smart and helpful. Always clear in what he says.
This man is the best prof I have ever had. I also credit him with getting me into Grad school!!!!!
great
Knowledgable guy but I think he might be caught up in his own celebrity at the college. There is a certain level of cliqueness when it comes to gaining the good grades. Those that do well like him alot and those that don't probably haven't talked to him.
Often late, often absent. Funny, and maybe nice in a self-centered way. Will like u and give u good grades if you pretend to think like him, ie Liberal-NDP, or u like CBC.

Keith is the man, he inspired me to take a poli sci degree. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Great Prof, easy grading. Knows tons about Canadian/Albertan politics. Often late for lectures. All around great teacher; very spiratic in lecture content, as lectures often trail off into some 30min anecdote. Get in his good books, and do papers on topics he "recommends", and your on easy street.

The guy's money! Although hes a liberal living in a conservative world hes a great prof with the occasional wacky view! I recomend strongly! Pretty good marker to!
Very knowledgable teacher. He knows a ton about what he teaches. He really does his best to make such boring material interesting with the style of his lectures. Also he works on trying to get everyone in the class involved.
Oh, he's a liberal alright. We won't hold that against him though. He's always got great stories about his neighbours.
Brownsey is one of the best profs I've had in my college career. He is extremely knowledgeable and he is effective in getting the class interested and involved.
Great Prof. The class is fun and engaging. Mr. Brownsey is involved in the political world and is quite passionate about it.
Haven't been for Brownsey I would've fallen asleep in just about every class, nothing very interesting but he would bring the mood of the class up with some hilarious stories. Best professor. :-)

Keeps your attention...he's funny. Like that we talk about current events, keeps you informed. Open to all questions and lets students have an opinion. I would choose him first in any poli sci course. Gives good grades if you put in effort.
I loved his classes! He likes to talk with students about current events! Very cool, I totally recommend taking his class!
Keith is very informed about everything relating to Poli Sci. He is a very engaged instructor and makes an effort to know every one of his students. He is also a fair marker, bias does not enter the equation.
Such a good prof! He is absolutely hilarious, but still manages to teach you something!
Awesome prof, still one of my favourites!
HE's the best prof i ever had. He's very knowledgeable. He remembers the names of his students. He talks about his neighbor Earls a lot tho lol But awesome prof. Highly recomended.
McCarthy would consider him a threat. He teaches you to examine and consider institutions and political cycles. If you have a chance to take a class from this Prof, "Just do it!".
awesome
A lefty for sure. Unprofessional at times in his comments about Harper. But awesome guy!
Worth attending class just for the entertainment. Super smart guy who knows his stuff. If you can get over the fact that you had to take this class to get your degree, you might actually learn something.
One of the best profs i have had at mru. Highly recommend him if you are going to take Political Science.
Yep, one of the best profs) Engaging, funny, and wants you to succeeed.
Keith Brownsey is among the best professors I've ever had. If he has a weakness, it might be that his lectures can be a bit unstructured and repetitive. Still, he makes the important points super clear and manages to make the dullest topics really interesting with his stories and sense of humor. Highly recommeneded.
Truly a joy to be able to take a class with Brownsey. One of my favorite professors, extremely knowledgeable and makes lectures enjoyable. What a treat to take a class with this guy....
Awesome Prof, GREAT sense of humor Definitely enjoy his class!! One of the best profs at MRU. Pay attention when he says "May I Have a Personal Moment"
Awesome prof, nothing to say but really funny...always keeps students on their toes and his exams are adequately passable...anyone who has a "C" in his class should just drop out right now and just enroll in SAIT or UofC.
One of the best profs I've seen so far. Does his best to use humour and to keep the class engaged. Textbook readings aren't needed for the classes themselves, but do them anyways; they'll be very useful for the midterm and final.
I can't give Mr. Brownsey a more positive review. His intro poli-sci class was the beginning of my overwhelmingly positive college experience. His sense of humour makes even the most dreary course content seem interesting. If students drift off he brings them back by addressing us by name or launching into a story about so-called 'uncle Swifty.' A+
Best prof ever!
I was very disappointed with Brownsey's class. Despite his painfully repetition, he was very hard to follow. His humour was nice at the start of the semester, but it became culturally racially insensitive. I found Brownsey to be quite rude when I asked for help. Overall, not the most interesting or professional teacher.
Really good prof. He is very understanding when it comes to assignments and lectures. He makes the class interesting even on an 8 am lecture on a Friday. He is very helpful and provides a lot of office hours. With a solid amount of effort, attendance, and reading the textbook succeeding in this class shouldn't be a problem.
Brownsey is great professor and his lectures are always interesting, class is often interactive.
Keith's lectures can be long at times, but he loves to make jokes which makes them worth coming to! He's very understanding - he offered our class a rewrite of the midterm and was flexible on the due date of our paper. Tests are easy as long as you read the text and he gave good feedback on our papers. If you can take him, do it!
Great Prof. His lectures can be a little boring, but it is political science. He is extremely understanding. If you need more time or help with an assignment he will accommodate your needs. Just make sure you go to class & read the textbook and you will do great. Gives very good and helpful feedback on assignments. Key thing is to go to class.
I hated the man. Made horrible jokes. Wasted half the class talking about stuff that was non-relevant. Way too many personal stories. If you can plough through the jargon though and follow in class, it's honestly an easy A. I never even opened the textbook once, but I attended every class
Probably the worst prof I have ever had the misfortune of taking. His jokes became repetitive after two classes. His personal stories, which half the time sound made up, take up most of class and offer nothing about the content. I had him for two classes and each time, I dreaded going because it was a waste of time.
Keith is a super funny and caring guy that gets to really know you (calls you Mr/Ms. *Your Last Name*). His personal moments are super touching and funny. Do take notes in his class as everything he says is oral. Would defs take again for any class if given the choice. Fun class full of discussion and participation of current events and Canada.
Keith Brownsey is hands down the best prof at MRU. I have taken 3 classes with him and wish i could take more. He is extremely understanding of personal circumstances and is one of the most intelligent and funny people i have ever met. He keeps class interesting by telling stories and is hilarious. Highly recommended.
He is absolutely amazing, he was really supportive to me when I was dealing with familial issues, he is incredibly brilliant, I don't know why anyone is saying that he is rude or not helpful, because if you really need help he is there to assist! He does talk about his personal stories which I found awesome! I had him for 2 classes, he's awesome!
He is a nice person, but most of us in the class would use multiple resources such as textbooks, in class lectures, PP's provided by him, and collaborating with our peers to study for the midterm and final and he would still only give out grades in the 70% range. It was kind of annoying because of that.
One of my favourite profs at MRU! Keith is such a caring and sweet person who truly understands students and recognizes not everyone is the same or learns the same way. He not only provides rewrites of papers if you ask, but takes the time to provide feedback. You'll get the best out of any course you take with him! Oh and he's hilarious!
Brownsey is one of the smartest, most knowledgable, kindest, most genuinely caring, and charismatic people I've ever met in my life. If you put in even a little effort, and contribute to class conversation, he will make sure you get a good grade, and have fun in the process. If you skip a chance to take a class with him, you're making a mistake.
Dr. Brownsey is a great prof. He comes from a lot of real word experience and is not shy about sharing his stories with the class. If you have an issue, he is very understanding about it and attempts to accommodate. His assignments are fair and if you follow his instructions you'll do fine. One thing, he does get carried away in stories at times.
I took a Canadian Polysci course from Keith back in the 90's and it was one of the most memorable courses I can recall. Canadian politics I find quite boring, but Keith was able to bring it some well needed energy, but his approach and interaction with the class was what was the real gem.
Brownsey is awesome. 10% of the grade is participation, so show up and offer a current event now and then to get full marks here. He is funny, but sometimes goes off on a tangent or an anecdotal life story that doesn't have anything to do with the material. He tries hard to explain things so that they are understood by all. Take him if you can!
He is a very funny prof but I don't like the way he teaches bc he doesn't use slides in the lecture. It's mainly a sit and listen class and writing ur own notes on which is important. He does provide slides but puts on bb very late. He does assign a $130 txtbook which u absolutely need when u didn't understand the lecture.
I loved Brownsey! He is very caring and intelligent, but he's not for everyone. At times he will go off on a tangent or tell a story, but I usually found those interesting. I loved having his class and I think if you don't take one of his classes you're missing out.
Dr. Brownsey is the best professor I have had in university. He cares a lot about each student individually and is very respectful to everybody. He's about as approachable as a professor can be, and supplies you with excellent feedback when the opportunity presents itself. I don't particularly enjoy school, but I loved his class.
I think Keith is a really good guy but he obviously has favourites. Speak up, but don't over do it. He's actually quite funny and I appreciated his live lectures, but not the prof for me.
Brownsey is a certified beauty.
Keith is overall a good guy. Although you can hardly ever reach him out of class. He does not follow the slides when he teaches or posts them online when he says he will. He is very bias and somewhat disrespectful of opposing opinions. He's not the best prof, although he's not the worst.
Keith is an extremely biased professor who will grade you based on his political beliefs. Despite using scholarly articles & always providing facts, Keith will give you a bad mark if it doesn't align with his views. If you disagree with others ( like most of us do from time to time), I wouldn't recommend taking any class with him.
Brownsey is great.
All you get marked on is participation (talk every class so he knows your name, turn camera on here and there), midterm (4 sections pic a question write about 250 words), final (same as midterm), and essay based on one of the selection of books he states. Bought 2 textbooks never used them and then had to buy the novel for the essay. Just don't.
Definitely one of the best professors I've ever had. Very understanding and easy to understand material. Repeats what he says somewhat often and definitely goes off on tangents, but he is very nice and will recognize when we have deadlines in other classes.
Full service class. Knowledgeable and experienced with anecdotes about every facet of Canadian politics. Keith's lectures are engaging and insightful, and his assignments are fair and productive. Great practice for writing briefing notes. Two names to know in his class about Alberta politics: Dave "The Hammer" Schultz, and Vern "Dryhole" Hunter.
Keith honestly has to be the funniest professor I've had at MRU so far, every class he will bring up one of the funny shenanigans that he has done in the world of political science. He always addresses his student using Mr. or Ms. followed by their surname, a very interesting way of doing so. That being said, Keith is a great prof to have overall.
Keith is Hilarious, if you end up taking his class honestly you'll listen to his funny stories/rants instead of actually having a proper lecture, which I didn't mind. He's a fair marker for all the stuff that's being tested.
Bad professor. Shows clear political bias.
BEST PROF AT MRU !!!!!!!!!!!!! MRU IS VERY LUCKY TO HAVE HIM !!!!!
Terrible professor. Disorganized and badly run classes that barely cover the lecture topic. Extreme political bias. This professor constantly makes uncomfortable jokes that no one finds funny.
