Don't buy the book. His lectures are all online and his tests are based on his lectures. The group project was time consuming but I think it is like that for all MKT 304 classes. I looked forward to going to this class. The only thing that I didn't like is that he wants you to memorize word for word definitions for his tests.

Make sure you have a good group, otherwise you'll mess up. You dont really get a lot of help on the project from him, so make sure you have enough group meetings.

Nice guy. Really cares about his students. Tests are straightforward and relies on the Powerpoint slide notes. A bit of a challenge to get an A but a B is definitely achievable. Recommended.

A wonderful teacher! Summer was a challenge, but he kept it fun and achievable. I highly reccomend! He is extremely good looking, so if you find that distracting you should probably take it into consideration. ;)

Prof. Gosselin is great at teaching students. He gives great real world illustrations and brings current news examples in the lecture. His class is overall easy, his exams are MC, T/F, fill in the blank and short answer. Watch the in class videos since they count as EC on the exams!! You dont need the book-- really. I bought it and wasted money.

Gosselin is amazing! his class isn't as bad as the other mkt classes. There is two midterms with no surpirses. everything he lectures about will be on it. a final and mkt group project and presentation. very fun class. honestly, i think he's better off making more money as a marketer at a big corp, he's got talent.

Very interesting lectures. Exams are based on lectures. Take good notes. Took him for MKT 304 and 441. Never even opened the books, studied from notes and did very well. Some questions on exams are tricky, but there are 3-4 extra credit questions. Doesn't curve. Explains material very well.

Marketing 304 with Professor Gosselin is simply amazing. His lectures are clear, concise, and most importantly, INTERESTING. He is a fair grader and handles a class of 150+ students with ease. The only problem you might encounter is during the group project. With such a high enrollment rate, you are bound to encounter a schlub or two in your group.

Took him for a 6-wk summer session: 3 tests containing m/c, t/f & short answer. Study off his lecture slides & skim thru book. 2 group case studies to complete (presentation-about 30 minutes and paper-approx 10 pages) Get into a hard working team and you'll be fine. He's passionate about his teaching & lectures are very tolerable. Recommended!

Great class! Professor has great notes so you do not need to buy book. Test are based on his notes, which I loved because I did well in his tests. Professor knows his material, is funny, and wants his students to pass.

Took during summer and we had 3 non ****mulative exams and 2 case studies. For the case studies, you need to type a 10 pg paper and present each case studies. Exams are not hard. Tests mainly off his notes but there r a couple of questions on the exam that come directly from the book that he might ask. Skim the chaps. Great professor!! Take him!

I love this professor. He teaches soooo well. He was the reason I became a Marketing major. I wish all professors were like him.

Hands down the best marketing professor at CSUN. His lectures are interesting and informative. His quizes can be a little bit difficult but if you you got to class and study you will be perfectly fine. I highly recommend this him, he is a great professor, you will get a lot out of the class.

doesnt take role, lectures off ppt slides.not too boring,but i never really went to class. Book is useless. DONT BUY. tests are memorizing his slides,certain definitions and videos he shows in class. Only makes one version of test, so know some1 in earlier class and u will know wuts on the test.

I agree with most previous comments. Great prof, knows the material, plenty of real-life examples. 4 exams in the winter semester with multiple choice, fill-in, short answers. If you read the book and study hard you 'might' get an A, without the book probably not higher than a 'B' . Each exam includes 3-4 questions (5 points each) out of the book.

He knows the material and teaches you everyday material. I would recommend him, however, due to him I changed my major from Marketing to Finance. Having to really learn the material made me realize I hated this major. So I would recommend him but I never want to see another marketing class any time soon.

If you do bad in his class you did not study!!! His notes are key in his class. Take notes, study your notes, and you will be fine.

Professor Gosselin is very helpful. Make sure to attend every class & pay real close attention to his multiple choice & T/F questions. Believe it or not, those are the trickiest ones. It is very easy to pass this class. However, if you want an A, you will have to put a lot of effort and TIME into studying. I defenitely recommend this professor.

Awesome teacher! Uses real life examples from his experience and current events. He says he's pessimistic, but you can tell he loves teaching Marketing. Project really pushes your creative thinking, as well as your research skills. Tests are easy if you study the notes. Take good notes, be diligent w/ the project, and you'll do good!

Class is hard but he teaches it very well. Curves grades alot. Many times I failed a test but ended up getting a C because of the curve.

Professor Gosselin definitely takes teaching seriously and wants his students to gain competence in their subject matter. Compared to professors at the Mount, he's not quite as charming as Dr. Antoniou, but close.

By far the BEST Marketing professor at CSUN - not because he's "easy" as some say, but because he teaches the subject so well. I have A.D.D. (diagnosed) and I had his class MWF 9:00AM and he was still able to make the class interesting and keep my attention. Tough grader on the term project but his project is not nearly as demanding as other profs.

Good prof. Encourages class involment. Quizzes can be a bit tricky, though straight forward. Shortest marketing paper of all MKT 304 classes but he is a hard grader. Makes the subject interesting. Try to be on time, he hates tardiness. Best teacher, especially if you are not a marketing major.

Great professor makes learning fun. Great lectures and exams are tricky. Do not buy the book if you want to do well in the class. Make sure you only study his powerpoints. One best classes you will ever take at CSUN. He makes the class very interesting and gives very good examples. Text book is not really needed if you want to pass, but it helps you understand the subject better. He is a great professor. Follow all his instructions, attend all the lectures and do well on the project and you get and A.

He seems easy at first but he takes his class, "Quizzes" and papers very seriously. Have in mind that he is a tough grader and that you should only take this class if your are in it to learn and not get a good grade.

Has lots of real world experience, so his lectures are interesting. Willing to help if you ask. For the term paper, put a source for any statement made. Quizzes are now done in class and very doable if you read the book and study your slides.

this guy has paranoia! he thinks students are cheaters!! he spent more than 10 mins after the 3rd test and another 10min before final going through his test rules, telling us how to act during the test to avoid getting a zero!! 4 tests (including final) and a term paper! his tests are NOT ONLINE anymore cuz he doesn't know how to work with moodle!

One of the best professors at CSUN. I hate going to classes in general, but I loved every one of his lectures because he is hilarious, insightful, and keen on detailing practical, real-life examples. Also a very fair grader with a fun personality. Overall, he is a great professor and I really wish all business classes could be this enjoyable!

Wow, I really don't understand some of these ratings. Took him for Internet Marketing, great teacher, so much to learn and he is just great. Exams are very short, but you have to study since they incorporate lectures & articles with mutiple choice and fill in. Just show up to class and pay attention, then just review the powerpoint slides. NO BOOK.

Top notch professor. Only thing I didn't like was how anal he was when it comes to taking the exams and anti cheating precautions. Other than that, it was one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever taken! Take him.

A good teacher. Gives plenty of examples so the students would understand the concepts. 4 quizzes are 95% from the lectures and slides. I rarely read the book. So attendance is mandatory. Grades hard but if you study the material should be fine. Class in not boring. Absolutely cannot cheat, and follows very strict rules during each quiz. Take him.

First of all, he grades the marketing term paper completely irrational. I thought the best groups would blow me away but they didn't. As a group, we tried our best and it was not good enough. I put way too much time into that paper, and it was upsetting how he picked every little thing out.

My scores on his exams began to improve when I started to focus more on my lecture notes and not so much on the textbook. Be sure to write down everything he says in his lectures.

I studied like crazy and knew all the info and barely got Cs on the test. He grades EXTREMELY difficult on the 25 page paper. Doesn't give extra points if u go to his office hours. Just so weird that I knew all info but got a C in the class. Hmmm..

Yes this prof is very helpful if you want major in Marketing. He gives 4 tests including final. tests are very hard and he grades very hard. If it's not written like he wants but still has the same meaning he takes out points. there is no way he will add even a point. There is one project, which he also grades extremely hard. Do not take this prof.

This guy is a marketing guru, he should be working at a fortune 500 company. He really knows his stuff and his lectures are entertaining. Some people really needed the book but I wasn't one of them. I thought the class was preety easy but SO very interesting. I recommend you go to every lecture and on time! trust! and study the slides.

The book was useless. I studied straight from the class notes and got an A in all my tests. What will make or break your grade will be the pointless/waste-of-time group project. This semester it's been a pleasure to attend MKT 304 with Professor Gosselin. He answers all my questions via email promptly and clearly. I believe he does care about his students. He is also very passionate about the subject, and makes it enjoyable to learn. Also, very easy on the eyes ;o)

Tests are Hard. Must know all material. Group project is a joke. Only extra credit offered are to the groups who already did well on the group project. Knows his stuff and is very helpful, but if you aren't good at memorizing, tests will be difficult.

His tests seem easy at first but they really are more on the difficult side. He always includes questions from the text. Doesn't take roll. Group project isn't hard to do but he grades it hard. Makes the class very interesting. If you're a Marketing major, I'd highly recommend Gosselin.

Very cool class! As a management major, I found this class to be very fun. 4 Quizzes, 1:3 is dropped, the 4th is mandatory. Term paper was not difficult, at least not for my company. His lecture's are fun, cool tips are given throughout the semester... Highlight: How to negotiate the purchase of a new car. :)

He's a good teacher. Clear with material. Dry but funny sense of humor. Uses lots of video examples. Uses PPT Slides but you have to take good notes. Get a GOOD Group. Our term paper was hard because we couldn't find current information regarding "Charlie" and he wouldn't let us change. But Individual assignment is easier. He drops one quiz.

Professor explains information clearly and I always enjoyed attending his class. There's 4 exams and you can drop your lowest score. As long as you study his slides, that he has for each class, watch the online videos, and read some of the book you should be fine.

Lectures are fun and informative. Grading is top 3 out of four tests, 25% each; remaining 25% is a group paper. Tests are straightforward, just review the lectures and skim the book. He knows what he is doing and has a lot of experience to back it up.

Took this as a hybrid summer course. He explained everything in detail over lectures and provided supplemental materials online. He's really clear with what he expects & makes the class interesting. I found this class stressful. I got an A, but I worked for it. Each test has some material covered only in the book. The bad part, is that these questions only make up 15% of the test. So if you want an A/B, you better read. Pick your group wisely for the research project! Overall, a lot of work, but I'd take him again.

His lectures are very interesting/fun. He's very good at what he does. His class, however, is hard! 4 quizzes with 20-25 questions so each is worth 4 points. One of the best professors for MKT 304. His lectures are entertaining and actually gives you information about stuff that affects our daily lives. Class is made up of 3 midterm exams and one final. He drops the lowest of your 3 midterms. One group project that is around 25 pages but there are 5 people in each group. Would love to take again.

Absolutely adore Professor Gosselin. One of the best professors, hands down. He truely knows his stuff and he knows how to teach it! The group research project is a pain in the ass but a word or advice: get the project done ASAP! Do not wait last minute! Also his exams are basically half from the in-class lecture and half from the book. Not bad.

He gives interesting lectures. Fantastic. However, he isn't easy and it is very hard to get an A. It is very hard to ace his class. I always received Bs on tests no matter how much effort I put into studying everything. He doesn't curve at all. B or C is doable. It is a trade off. Want to learn and get a B? Take him. Want an A? Take someone else.

The quizzes are quite difficult. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to read and memorize every chapter, read all the articles, and write down notes for every little thing he says during lectures, so I didn't get an A.

His lectures are interesting. Tests have weird questions, especially the first one. Which asks what he specifically said in class. And the writing assignment is a pain because its hard to find and learn about non-existent info. he grades tough on it. Just an unfair division of grading. His center is grades, not learning.

He's my favorite professor so far at CSUN. His class is very interesting and to the point. The online lectures really help. Make sure to at least skim the chapters and pay attention for a good grade.

Professor Gosselin is an excellent instructor. His knowledge of sales and marketing is top notch. You will enjoy his class. His tests are reasonable, the project is fun to do, and over all the class is a lot of fun. I HIGHLY recomend taking this course.

All of his tests (specially the 1st one) have a lot of "the instructor said in class" questions which were detailed. Make sure to take notes and even record him. His research paper was basically useless to add to knowledge and took a lot of unnecessary time. Otherwise his tests aren't too difficult just take notes and study pps and book.

Such a great professor. He keeps you interested in the subject and really teaches with passion. He is very prepared and well versed in the marketing subject. He motivates you to learn and provides great marketing strategies and examples. He is up front and clear about what he expects. Hard class but well worth it for the long term knowledge.

Keith is a very intelligent guy. He knows his stuff and the class is very interesting and you learn a lot. There are 4 quizzes and one group paper. The quizzes are not so hard but you have to study for them. He drops the lowest of your first 3 quizzes and the final one is mandatory. Group paper is hardeasy depending on the topiccompany you get.

You will learn Marketing well. This is a college course and not easy but he teaches it with passion

Gosselin is an exceptional instructor! He discusses marketing in today's world, and references his experiences working in the field as well. Which helps to be better understand Marketing, and the major itself. Make sure to get a good group, and proof read, he is a tough grader in regards to the report. He was great! Very up to date and modern, knew how to teach and how to make it interesting to the class. He teaches on powerpoint, but you have to listen to him speak and also read and listen to his moodle posts. Great professor. 3 Tests, drops lowest. Final Test mandatory.

Professor Gosselin's an amazing instructor. Go to class, follow lectures, takes notes, do online homework assignments, read the book, and you will have no problem passing the class. By far one of the best teachers I have had ever. Idk why people say that his lectures are pointless. All of his test have questions from his lectures you can't get from the book or hw. To be honest I never read the book and I still passed. The only thing is the group paper, he grades it very tough, choose your group wisely.

You have one group project (you pick the group) and 4 "quizzes" (exams) he drops the lowest quiz grade of the first 3 quizzes. Choose reliable people to be in your group, he grades very tough on the group project. Lectures are not mandatory but there might be 2-3 questions on test based on his lecture. Overall a great professor!

NIce guy. Was an accounting major so did not try as hard as I should in this class. His exams consist of book questions, in class lectures examples, and a few vocab. Take good notes during lectures, which is not on his slides

Professor lectures are interesting and some topics are on exams. Exams are based on book, lectures, and recordings found on moodle page. Do homework on connect and get a good group for project to pass class.

Took the class last semester his class is AMAZING!! You get to learn so much if you pay attention and if you're interesting in marketing. I would highly recommend his class. Don't miss class and make sure to keep up with the readings to do well in quizzes.

Tests are worth 70% of the grade. He is lecture heavy but the lectures are pretty entertaining. The only set back is the group paper, it's a pain to get done and he nitpicks the hell out of it, the only good thing about it is that it is 15% of the grade. The hw is simple and it is easy to study for the exams. Read the articles and watch the vids.

Good class, BUT don't be late to the tests, you will not be allowed to take them! Easy enough class to get a B in, but to get an A: study his videos and lectures for the midterms/finals, try to get the best possible group for the term paper and follow his grading rubric for that. Will be taking again cause I was 25 mins late to the final...

He's a really chill professor. You have to do a lot of reading in order to pass this class with a high grade. Make sure to pick a solid group for your paper!

In order to do well on the quizes make sure to read the text (mostly main definitions), watch his online videos (if a hybrid class), and be present in the class, some of his questions are based on what he said during the lecture. The most difficult is the group research paper, so choose your group carefully.

Do not underestimate this class. He drops the lowest quiz but study hard and use all the materials in canvas for each quiz; WATCH the MP4 videos he posts! Get a good group for your paper and start EARLY. His lectures are super-interesting but he's not really accessible outside class. Again may seem easy at first but for an A you gotta do it all

Hes an incredible professor! He knows what hes talking about as he worked as a marketer himself for many years, and he just keeps the classes so interesting. Some of my friends took this class with other professors and hated it, which was totally bizarre in my opinion. Plus, it doesnt hurt that he looks like this other famous Gosselin guy hah

I really enjoyed this class. He teaches you like we are his audience and he is the salesman, selling the subject of marketing. He talks about important things in real life and teaches us more than any other teacher. His class could be challenging because the test and term paper are hard, but I still recommend taking his class.

It was a good thing I had a really good group for the paper otherwise I wouldn't walk away with the grade I have now because its weighted so heavily. But he was really easy to get a hold of for online classes and his tests were pretty easy, just read key components and listen to his lectures. Drops lowest score.

Excellent orator. Lectures nearly always feel like entertainment. This guy's knowledge of marketing is evidenced by the way he markets his class to the students. Everything is in bite-sized chunks and designed to be enjoyable and (relatively) hassle free. Group paper is a stack of work, but not too excessive for 300 level class Would recommend.

Professor Gosselin shows he is knowledgeable in the subject. Makes lectures interesting and fun. His test consists of video he creates personally as well as some things he talks about in class. He gives 4 quizzes, the 4th one is the final, and he drops your lowest score out of the first three. HW easy weekly online assignments.

Great professor who engages his students in his lectures. He presents the material in a way that is both easy to understand and memorable. Four quizzes (lowest one dropped) and one group paper. The quizzes cover material from the lecture, ebook, and videos he puts up on Canvas. Final is just a quiz covering the last chapters. Highly recommend!

Great professor! I was scared to take him due to the comments below, but did well overall! His in class lectures are as energetic as his mp4s. The exams are derived from the inclass lectures, mp4s, and in text readings. Drops one of the first three quizes. Final is not cumulative. The group paper wasn't that bad. Do NOT underestimate this class!

He's great at giving lectures and is also entertaining. Group project could make or break your grade. Choose your group wisely. Don't just choose the idiots around you. I would've gotten an 'A' in this class had I chosen a group where people actually tried. Exams are half based on lectures so take notes and watch the mp4 videos on canvas.

I really enjoyed his class, and that means a lot since it started at 8am. The professor is very knowledgable on the subject and shows that he as a passion for the subject. To do well-just be disciplined. Show up to class, take notes, do the homework and take notes from the reading. 304 is a gatekeeper class, so of course its a challenge...

Has really fun and intersting lectures! 4 exams (one of them is the final) and they are pretty straight forward. Group paper which determines a big chunk of your grade. He is a tough grader!! A good 8am class because his lectures are fun

TAKE HIM!! His lectures were great (the ones I went to) and his class structure was very simple. 4 'quizzes', a group term paper, and online homework. The exams were all multiple choice and are very straightforward if you study and the homework is a joke. Pick your group carefully! Easy A if you study!

Prof. Gosselin is hands down one of the best marketing professor's CSUN has to offer. If you want a robotic professor who reads off of PPT slides, he isn't for you. If you want real-world examples and to actually learn, he's the one. The people leaving bad reviews are the ones who never show up to class and get mad when they fail.

1 group project he graded tough but told you what he was expecting, & try and turn it in early for extra credit pt. HW was weekly & really easy, it just took 1 hr per chapter. For the exams: Study the textbook definitions ( it will help for tricky questions), attend lectures-most Q are from lecture, & WATCH THE VIDEOS he sends-lots of exam Q

Nice man! Start your group project early! My group and I did a chunk a week and got an A. It is manageable if you do it this way. The quizzes were easy if you attend lecture. Pay attention to the modules he posts. Watch all videos and read all the articles because they will be on the quizzes. Homework was easy b/c you can retake until you get an A.

Weekly readings and online activities. 4 quizzes with the lowest score dropped from the first 3. Final term paper on a company/brand - done with a team. Sends helpful weekly emails that contain that week's activities and next week's agenda.

This prof is so amazing. I had him virtually because of covid and his lectures were by far the most interesting online class I had. There are easy hw and quizzes that answers are found online. You do a group term paper which is a little lengthy. He makes the class so interesting and fun its a breeze. Just try a little and you will do well. 10/10

The most entertaining Professor I had this semester. Fun lectures and easy homework. Quizzes arent too hard if you take notes during class and read. The term paper takes awhile so I recommend starting early and geting into a good group.

Amazing professor who really knows what he is talking about. Big group paper. My only complaint is that the professor uses Mcgraw Hill connect which I have enjoyed using in other classes but just not this one. You have to read 1-3 chapters a week and do the corresponding 100-250 questions. It takes time.

Love his lectures. You will learn so much from him; things that actually matter and would be helpful in your life. Lots of online HW every week. But if you are even slightly interested in marketing, this guy will teach you so much. Cool guy, I wish he could be my mentor :-D

Great guy and hilarious. Lectures were interesting and very relatable in terms of applying concepts to the real world and showing examples. However, quizzes are 22 questions of MC and he only gives 28 minutes. Caught myself spreading myself thin in the quizzes. Quiz questions RELY on listening to the lecture. Lecture will not be posted after.

I feel like his bad ratings are students who dont want to learn or put in the effort. His lectures are a interesting as they can be considering you are online staring at a computer. He does have lots of homework questions, but they arent difficult. The quizzes are lecture heavy, but I didnt attend a handful of lectures and still did well on them

I took this for summer, so it is a normal class condensed into 7 weeks. The HW is NOT HARD lol. It should take 45 - 75 mins each chapter. Just click the help button each Q and the answer is there in the text. Quizzes aren't hard either Just take notes of the powerpoint in his lectures and make sure you know the supplemental stuff. Very nice guy too

Great prof. 1 super easy paper thats only 4 paragraphs. Weekly online homework that takes a good 2-3 hrs. The book is interesting and not boring. 4 quizzes and he drops one. No attendance taken. Great lectures and cool class. Barely studied for the quizzes - just pay attention in class, study your notes, and pay attention when doing the readings.

He was a good guy. He has real world experience and is young and relatable. Clear grading criteria and the tests are easy. However, the homework is annoying and tedious.

You have to pay attention to his lectures because most of his quizzes are based on what the lecture says, sometimes is contrary to the textbook. There are only 4 quizzes, and he drops your lowest score of the first 3. One simple, short writing assignment and you get bonus points if you submit one of the first two. Homework is online and pretty easy

if you want to learn and know about real life Marketing, or you want to become a Marketer, please take Professor Gosselin class, hes one of a kind and genius and very knowledgeable person. as i know hes close to being retired so if you want to learn something , take him!
