really nice, great guy. makes the subject interesting and he remains politically neutral which is really nice. weekly quizzes: often group and/or open-book but dont always count on it. covers what you need to know in lecture so go and pay attention. gives questions that will be on midterm and final 2 weeks in advance so you know what to expect.

He was the reason I became a political science major. I love this teacher. He makes politics simple and fun to discuss in class. He has a quiz once a week and it is open book and note. He is very enjoyable to be around and he actaully made me want to attend every class.

Very enthusiastic and easy going. You have to come to class to take the quizzes, but they're very easy and straight out of the book, a chapter of which I never read. The bigger tests are very straightforward and he'll tell you exactly what will be on them.

He is such a cool teacher! I was nervous going into a Political Science class with a teacher being one sided but he is totally cool and makes fun of both Democrats and Republicans! So he is totally laid back. Not much homework, easy in class quizzes if you do the reading and midterm and final are the same, both are easy if you go to class and read!

Very easy class to pass. Always go to the 2nd class of the week because he gives out quizes each week. Subject matter is easy and the tests are even easier - 10 matching and 3 short essays. He is helpful during office hours (gives answers to tests ahead of time) and explains things well. Pretty funny and makes it easy to stay awake during class.

Professor Gouveia is one of the best guys I knew! His quizzes are all with groups and open book, and he is a comedian himself! But one of the things that sort of irk me is his tests. They're all essays, but he gives the prompt to you before tests and allows you check with him what you plan to write as your answer. Take him, you'll learn and laugh!

GOUVEIA is the best POLS teacher around. All in class quizzes are with a group every week and his one midterm and one final for the whole semester he gives you the essay questions he will ask so if you don't how to answer it you can go to his office hours he is super helpful. You write one paper and he will grade it before you turn it in. Take him!

Keith is a legit professor He has the background of a lawyer and can move a crowd of students (at least those who actually care). He believes that you take what you can get out of college, those of you who say he is easy are the same people who need mommy and daddy to get mad at them when they get bad grades otherwise they don't try. If you have him once a week, lectures can eventually get boring. Overall really chill and funny guy though, plus all the quizzes are done in a group so you can get all the help you want. If he asks a question and you randomly bark he will probably give you participation points. Allowed to miss up to 2 classes and drops lowest quizzes. Take him!

He is looks for participation, yet he won't force you to speak in class, he gives you the option of seeing him beforeafter his class or his office hours. His tests are the same as the study guide and the quizzes are done in groups and with open notes. There are two article write ups but if you follow the format it should be an easy A.

What can I say about Prof. Gouveia? He's hilarious, that's for sure. He does balance humor with serious stuff and wants to make sure people know their stuff when it comes to American Government. So he gives weekly quizzes that you should study for. He loves for people to participate and part of your grade is based on that.

Really laid back professor, and even has a ponytail. Super nice, easy to talk to and the class wasn't too challenging. Do be prepared to study for the midterm and final though, he gives out a study guide that prepares you for every question so as long as you do that you're good to go! Not only the easiest A at SSU, but you also learn so much! Always starts with "What's news?": Just say one current event you saw on the news for extra credit. I went from 91% - 100+% from talking every day. Group quiz at the end of class; you get to use your phone for it. 1 Midterm & 1 Final. The study guide is a replica of both exams. Study it A

Keith is such a chill guy. It wasn't a very formal class but that's what made me come to class. His non pretentious approach gave us a good platform to speak on. Weekly quizzes, open note, from chapters in book. Does slide on them but not entirely clear. I'm a 4.0 student and he just made my life so much easier by being understanding! Surfs too!

Online Pols200 is really easy, quiz every week & an assignment. All on topics that are easy to talk about/learn. I recommend taking this class if you want credit for something that isn't going to overload you.

Really nice guy. He never really lectures on what is going to be on the exam but his study guide is really straight forward. Participation is mandatory. You have to speak up because it's worth 100 points throughout the semester. There are weekly quizzes but you can use technology. Very interesting, real-life topics discussed.

Keith was an amazing professor! Took it last semester and was honestly an easy A. Participation is marked, so going to his office hours for a news-piece will give you participation. Weekly quizzes on what is being taught. Midterm and final same format and pretty easy if you know the vocab well enough. Highly suggest taking it!

Professor Gouveia's online class is very straight forward; he lays out what we need to do each week and typically gives us a quiz and a writing assignment based on the weekly reading. He is slow to respond to emails.

Keith is a really good professor. There is a midterm, final, and presidential campaign video( that seems daunting but is actually fun). Participation is a must wit him so get ready to. talk, talk, talk. But he does gives a lot of chances in different ways for participation so that's a plus! If you're taking pols, you have to do it with Keith!

Keith's online POLS 200 class was set up very well. One assignment and one quiz a week, sometimes only one or the other. Everything he has you do is very straightford, if you do what you assigned you pass easily. One midterm and one final. I highly recommend taking this class.

Even though I only spent half the time in class face to face because of COVID-19, his enthusiasm for this course is amazing. There is only one midterm and one final. Homework is every week, which consists of a quiz and sometimes a discussion. The project he assigned was so fun to make. I would recommend taking this class!

Keith is a really hilarious, down-to-earth guy. He is able to work with you if you need to move a test or have questions about lectures. All his quizzes are given online and the answers are easy to find. When we moved to online learning, he began to assign an essay a week. Took the class during Fall 2019. He was super easy. Did count if you participated to get points. There were group quizzes and some extra credit points. And one group project that was a video and paper, you could work with people from other sections. Super easy prerequisite! Easy A w/o a doubt!

I took his asynchronous online course so I never had much contact with him. But from all the comments he left on my work I knew he actually spent time grading our work and now just randomly giving grades. One quiz every week that is very easy to pass, and a discussion about every other week. Do the work on time and you'll pass easily.

The course I took was asynchronous. I would have a quiz one week and a paper the next, pretty straightforward and doable. You get a whole week to take the quiz or to do the paper.

I would say POLS with Gouveia is easy. Discussion post/essay are weekly. A quiz is weekly (20pts on Quizlet)! Discussions are (20pts) its a prompt a week & comment on 2 of your peers post. Do them on time & respond to classmates and you will get an A. I never used the textbook & passed, make sure you answer all qs for discussion prompts. Easy A!

He engages with students. We talk about current events at the beginning of class and he relates it to the lecture usually. There's weekly quizzes based on the textbook but they are not bad at all. The class is a long class but he makes it very interesting and has a good personality. He cares about his students and encourages participation.

This is an excellent class. Professor Gouveia gives good feedback, grades fairly, replies quickly, and grades assignments in a timely manner. He has some creative activities that foster understanding of the topics and makes you research both sides. I've enjoyed this semester and I'm on track to get an A. If you put in the time you can pass.

I really liked him. There were online quizzes once a week that were all in the textbook. The midterms and final were like 90% questions that were on past quizzes. Some little group projects but he makes his lectures interactive and are pretty fun. My class was once a week and let us out like a half hour early every time

I took POL200 online, asynchronous. It was definitely an easy A+ as long as you do all of the assignments, no extra credit offered from what I could see and the "lectures" were entirely reading, which was kind of a bummer. He can ben a little touchy on grading and the quizzes had some "gotchya" questions. The final signature assignment was fun!

This was an online course which I found very enjoyable. There was always an assigned reading and a quiz that went along with it as the weekly assignment. It was very straightforward and not too overwhelming of a workload. Sometimes you would write papers but it wasn't test heavy at all. The professor was fast to respond to emails too.

Don't bother reading the textbook, just use it to answer the quiz questions. His lectures do not go over the material on the exam or quizzes. Participation is required, but easy. Class is a breeze if you are careful on the quiz.

I cannot understate how easy POLS 200 was with Keith, especially for a class that counts for three different GE reqs (LD D, CA Gov, & US Constitution). He is funny, knows what he's talking about, and makes the subject matter interesting by engaging with the class. Literally zero homework other than the Signature Assignment which was crazy easy.

Would take this class again. He is very clear and understanding. Makes long lectures interesting. Makes topics easy to understand. Take it if you need it 100%. If you go to class you will pass.

Really great guy who is definitely an entertaining lecturer and is a pleasure to have a class with. The only thing I didn't like about this class is that it was at least 60% focused on the news, discussions at the beginning of every class. It seemed like we were talking about current events more than anything and I was looking to learn more.
