Great teacher, made everything so much easier, highly recommend you take his class

Great Professor!!

Mr. Kawamoto is my favorite professor at College of the Canyons. He makes a huge effort to get to know his students and help them in anyway he can. I would take all of the Fire Tech courses from him if I could! He is a fair grader and does not have too many assignments. He gives extra credit too!

gets to know his students & makes every effort to help students succeed. Lectures are fun- anecdotes are told. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class. He practically tells you what to highlight for the test. Great teacher- interested in your life & helping you succeed (interview help coaching etc.)

Took his Fire course this past fall semester at coc, great instructor learned a lot from his lectures and you can always go to him with a problem. Very understanding. Just pay attention and take good notes and you'll be fine.

I DO NOT regret taking his classes ! Kawamoto is one of the coolest teachers I've had at COC . Passed both class with an A (fire technology 103 & 104) , great lectures (print out the handouts and it will be easier), and also a fun class. DEFINITELY recommend , without a doubt !

he also gives extra credit, funny sometimes ha, participation matters because not everything he posts up is not gonna be on the tests and some of it he just tells you in class, inspirational and also good stories of being on the fireground, his lectures are a little long but informative, he is definately THERE FOR HIS STUDENTS!

Such an awesome teacher. If I was ever doubting on being a firefighter he made me change my mind and really inspired and taught me on what the fire service is all about. I'm definitely taking more fire classes with him. One of the best teachers I've had at COC no doubt.

The formula for success in his class is simple, print out all the lecture outlines that he posts online and come to the lectures to take any extra notes. The test aren't difficult if you study the material and the assignments aren't difficult either, just get 'em done! He's very knowledgeable about the fire service and has a good sense of humor.

10/10 Professor definitely gets to the point without adding useless info. you don't need the textbook, take lots of notes, you will pass without breaking a sweat.

Awesome Professor. I never bought the textbook, because his lectures are so informative. He goes over what will be on each test, so there is no question what will be on the tests. Only slight downside is there is a term project which is a 5 paper essay. It is easy though because there is a guideline and rubric he gives out. Kawamoto is the homie.

Kawamoto is a great teacher who clearly cares about his students and educating them. He was very understanding and willing to work with my busy work schedule. He went above and beyond to help me with my attendance in class as long as I got my work done and learned the marerial that was covered. He is a great teacher and I highly suggest taking him.

Great Professor!! I took his summer class and even though it was sped up he was very clear and specific on the material and helped us get a better understand on why the fire department does what they do and give specific video examples. Amazing teacher

Proffesor Kawamoto is by far the best professor I have had. He is very clear and concies about all assignments and is fair to all his students. He goes above and beyond to ensure students are learning inside and outside the classroom. Most inportantly he supports and helps his students achieve a career even if it is outside of the Fire Service.

I've taken him for ft101 ft 102 and ft104 and got an A in all the classes. He explains the material very well and always does great reviews before exams. Super cool professor would definitely recommend him for anyone.

Professor Kawamoto is the best! I wasn't sure if I wanted to be in the fire service but after taking both of his classes fire protection organization and fire protection equipment and systems, I am sure now that someday I want to be a firefighter. I highly recommend him.

Awesome professor. Stays up with the most current information in regards to fire departments and genuinely cares for his students. Information is ridiculously clear pay attention in class and you won't need to do too much studying for tests. Material is clearly stated, whats gone over in class is always on tests. Funny, and extremely nice.

Instructor Kawamoto is the most organized professor Ive ever had. Hes clear about what he wants and the information he gives out. You have to take the work seriously, but it can be easy because of how helpful he is. He cares about all students in all aspects of their lives. If you see his name when looking for classes, TAKE HIM. Hes the best!

I have/have had Professor Kawamoto for 4 classes and decided that I will be having him for 2 more classes in the fall. He is my favorite instructor as he is very clear and organized with the material he teaches. His content and method he teaches leaves students interested in every class. Highly relatable and someone I personally look up to.

I took FireTech101 to see if fire fighting is really what I want to do. Professor Kawamoto was the only teacher in class so I kind of just enrolled and hoped he was good. The class wasnt tough if you payed attention and he graded fairly. I enjoyed every lecture and know that Im in the right field now. He helped me a ton.

Highly recommend this professor. He will help you, if you want to help yourself. I found taking multiple classes with him during the semester helped because it covers some of the same material. He wants you to become the best and you leave class feeling inspired!!

Awesome and funny professor, always looked forward to going to class.

He is an amazing teacher. He explains in detail and will make sure you understand it. All his notes are canvas which I highly recommend printing out. Only had 6 assignments total and they were all super easy. He is an easy grader, do what the instructions as for and you won't have a problem. If you skip class a lot you will not pass. I got a 98%.

I have taken several class with professor Kawamoto and I enjoy showing up to each class because all the information is relevant and well articulated in his lectures. He makes it easy to understand how to apply it in my career and daily life. The information, if applied properly, will assist me in getting a job, keeping the job, and promoting.

Kawamoto is a very detailed instructor that inspires while he educates. Unlike other professors that teach, just to do their job, get their paycheck and go home, professor K truly cares and goes above and beyond to mentor and help his students in any possibly way he can.

Professor is professional at all times and respects every student equally. His teaching method is great and youll easily learn and retain the material he is teaching. Attention to detail is number 1 in his class and all homework assignments. He prepares you very well.

he's the type of professor that makes things stick, going to class was more like hanging in a sense. that's not to say that you won't be taking note but he makes everything simple. word of advice if you're a bad test taker he definitely the professor for you

My first semester as a Fire Tech student, I took Professor Kawamoto for both FT101 and 102. Hes an excellent teacher who dedicates his time to his students, who he truly cares about and wants to see succeed. Lectures are never boring and tests are extremely easy. I now view him as a mentor and a friend. Going to take him again next semester.

As a Junior in high school, and this class being my first fire tech class in a class room, Professor Kawamoto made the class really fun and easy to learn. Would greatly recommend him.

Gives you clear hand out of when everything is due and when tests are. If you show up and take notes, come to every class, and turn in everything on time, you will be fine. He even tells you what stuff is gonna be on the test. You can tell he really cares about his students and for them to succeed. Everything he does, he does it for a reason.

My experience with professor Kawamoto was great, he is a very respectful man who cares for each and every single one of his students no matter who they are or what they look like. He's a jokester which is a definite plus in any professor, he'll for sure make you laugh at least once. overall he is by far one of the greatest professors I've ever had.

Starting off my first year of college with, professor Kawamoto. He is honestly a great professor. You have to show up so you could pass, but his lectures are always entertaining. He always finds a way to make you laugh.

Highly recommend professor. Easy to understand and the workload is not heavy at all. In my opinion, you don't really need the book and all of his notes are on canvas. His humor is a bonus.

Best fire technology teacher there is. He's the head of the department for a reason. Show up on time and participate and you'll do fine. He goes over quiz/test questions after chapters so if you can't get an A thats all on you. He wants you to succeed and he shows it. Very nice and reasonable. Hope to take him again in the furure!

Prof. Kawamoto is a wonderful teacher. His lectures are straightforward and to the point and the way he has notes set up is very helpful in his tests and quizzes, I believe I got 100% on all my exam/quizzes but 2, where I missed 1 question. His class is definitely note-taking focused, but it's in such a way that it's all memorable. 10/10 teacher!

Professor Kawamoto was great and I enjoyed his class much more then I originally expected to. He can come off a bit overly official, reminds me of a military dad. He cares deeply about his students more then any other professor I've taken. He really wants to see his students pass and be successful in their coming career.

I have had professor Kawamoto for three classes now- 101, 102, and 103. I love this guy so much I'm going to be taking his 104 class as well. Super funny. Genuinely cares. Lectures are very thorough, and does not just read off of a slideshow. He shows images to show exactly what he's talking about, which is great for visual learners like myself.

I started college at 23 this being my very first class and I was nervous after not going to school for 5 years. I can not explain how easy it was to learn and how much respect and admiration I have for Professor Keith Kawamoto. One of the best professors I have had at college. He really cares about his class and gives a lot of effort to see you succeed. Make sure to do your homework on time and you should be good. The tests are not that hard if you study for like 30 minutes for it.

The class is not difficult, since the work itself demands a disciplined response and fact extraction rather than checking off boxes. Some of the 'How we got here' videos were hard but the quizzes and tests were well supported. Conducts the class like he's watching out for fire crew members and will mention extracurricular citizenship opportunities.
