Again, course is easy.AGAIN, very boring prof. AGAIN, test mostly evaluates the speed of writing and notes and not the application of knowledge. When doing the midterm do the marginal tax question first it takes 2 pages of copying tax tables and it is30%

this class is a joke, 180 min. class, 10% teaching, 40% break time, 30% rush to blackboard to get "participation" mark, then 20% nothing since he always let us out early. wtf....

Yes he is boring,takes too many breaks, but it's a good class to take to boost your GPA-don't take the class if you want to learn anything because you won't-he reads off his lecture notes AGAIN and AGAIN!!! But gives u help if needed during office hours

Put into perspective my peers. The guy teaches FIN courses to people who, for the most part, didn't know how to spell finance before heading to Ryerson. Come on. If the course was made harder half of you would fail.

This class is easy as long as you have the patience to participate. His classes are longer than they need to be but you will learn a hell of a lot. As boring as he is, sit thru it and bear it, and you'll get a good mark. *HINT* His lectures and assignments MIRROR the exam.

He's a cool prof. Sure he takes 3 breaks per class, but he's easy and his classes will increase your GPA!! Take him when in need (FIN 401, 501, 502, 521, 610)

this prof is boring, rude, ignorant, and if you have enough classes with him you actually get stupider. he's very very very easy, but whenever i asked him a question during his office hours(the few times he was there), he made me feel stupid. I have no respect for him whatsoever.

Keith is a good professor! He is quite laid back and he does not make things too complicated. However, one must be willing to work hard because his test questions can be a little tricky. Overall, though, a fair and nice prof. He is also very helpful if you ask him questions after class. He's very educated and can give you valuable info on finance.

It is great that he takes up homework in class. Even though he posts the solutions on Blackboard, he sometimes does the problems differently that makes more sense so it's very useful to go to class. He gives at least two breaks which is nice. Don't bother asking him questions @ breaks or after class. Ask him in his office. Email is kinda useless!

Keith is Awesome!! Even though he gives way too many breaks, he teaches and takes up the questions in class. Tests are straightforward if you attend class and if he gives you the option of open vs closed book - take the closed book. His open book tests are crazy (way too hard). But he's a cool prof, take him and you'll get at least a B

Keith is a great guy, however when you sit in his class you don't know if he's looking at you or the ceiling? He seems a bit nervous when he presents and at times you can't understand what he's saying. He does his job as a professor and is available for extra help only if you ask him for it. Just sit up front in class and LISTEN HARD.

Very weird presentation style but he is very clear. Just attend and you will understand everything. Very helpful if u have a problem. Loves the Maple Leafs. His exams are pretty tough though. He will take the time and go thru the midterm and tell u exactly what he wanted.

This course is highly recommended to fin major students. The breakdown of this course is: 10% participation and 90% assignment, no midterm no exam! This course is suitable for people who want to learn and want to slack off. if u want to learn, just go to class and do the assignments on ur own. if u just want a free ride, just join a good group.

Ethics could've been a good class, but it was just presentations class. I don't mind presentations but it was the largest finance class that I ever had. Prof is boring and useless. But if you need to get something done go talk to him in his office, he is a different person when you talk to him one on one. Good Luck!!!

This course is not bad, Assignments are easy, but make sure you always do an executive summary in Keith's assignments, it worths 10%. Never underestimate the open-book tests and exams. They are not easy. Make sure you study well.

This course itself is useless. I didn't learn a thing in class. All I did for the course to write a newspaper report, do a group project and make a presentation for each one of them. Keith is a good prof, he's not giving out exceptionally high grades (range: 70 - 80%, ), but i must say he's easier and nicer than Alan Kaplan for sure.

I liked the way he went over problems in class VS pure lecture on theory. Definitely study the CD and past tests for the mid-term. Marks tests and assignments fairly. Never had a problem asking him questions in class - Maybe he came out of his shell...Overall he made FIN401 easy for me.

He is a really good profesoor who teaches well. Although he was absent from four of our classes (due to a broken arm, pneumonia and other things), he did try to keep up. Do his homework and read ahead and go to class you will get an A. He is a really good person.

Macinne is SOOO much easier for FIN 502!!! Once you get into higher finance courses....he is so hard and you will never know what to expect from him...especially his assignments! The midterms are so long that even he admitted it!! The assignments WILL break down your mark. The class is ridiculous.

I liked him, missed out on A lost a lot of marks on the exam but I like his teaching style maybe old school but prof.’s writing out stuff on the board is what I am used to. He always answers questions and you can go and ask him questions even after class.

Sitting front row centre and continuously bored out of my mind. It was mostly the material, but Keith's monotone didn't help, though it was often quite funny. Study and you'll pass...I hear he's better than most.

Without a doubt, one of the best instructors for this course. He is not flashy, however, if you pay attention to handouts and homework problems on the board during class, you will be successful. Always responds to email questions in a very prompt manner. Compared to other instructors who teach this course, he is the best.

Don't let your first impression of him fool you. He will seem to be totally incomprehensible, and he is if you sit in the back (even the middle, sometimes) Attendance makes a huge difference because midterms are from in-class material. A long question will be exactly like an in-class problem. Pop-quizes will mean you will have to attend most classe

Advanced Portfolio management was actually difficult. I've had Keith before, but his tests were very tricky vs fin 610 which he was a lot nicer. Also hes very vague in what expects keith has changed from previous years he was great in fin 401/502/610. But for portfolio management class average was very low even for him.

I found Keith okay but his midterms and final were tricky. I studied hard for his course and only managed a D+. Keith once again is a good guy but this course really hurt my gpa. I found him a lot easier in fin 502 and fin 610, but not for fin 521. Good luck to new students Keith is a lot harder then before.

Had Keith for 401/502 but his tests for 521 and 610 were killer hes a smart guy but in senior level finance courses he can be very tough. The open book midterms are long and very difficult. Also hard to understand even if you sit close. Keith is great for lower finance but tough and a gpa killer in fin 521 and 610

If you are taking this class FIN610 you need to be committed b/c this class is really hard. Avoid this class at all cost if you do not need to take it because the course load is really heavy. Drop it at quickly as you can or it might be to late!!!!!!!!!!!

Great professor. If you sit at the front and pay close attention and do the work he does in class you will do well... you just gotta pay really close attention because his voice isnt clear sometimes. Definately recommend for 401

keith is a lot harder in 610 than in 401. Becarful he'll screw you over, I wouldn't take another higher-level course w/ keith he doesnt use the text and is extremely nit-piky on test/exams

it's not keith who's difficult; the nature of the class is why some people find it challenging. i mean, it is based on level-3 CFA content after all. still, it ain't so bad; tests are just long and you have to read the questions very carefully. there are no complex calculations. pretty straightforward class and recommended if you wanna get your CFA

Not recommended for FIN 610 and 521. He teaches 1 thing and on tests he puts things he didn't teach and didn't focus on. some groups got zero on their group assignments, and class average was 60. He misses a lot of classes.

Incomprehensible, hand writing is awful. Midterms are easy, somebody else wrote that exam but it wasn't too bad. Two 25% midterms, one 10% assignment, 40% exam with 50 m/c marks, 50 problem solving marks. Yes there is written answers in this course, so you can't use the heuristic of guessing "C". Take Keith to ensure a high mark going into the exam

Get used to the monotone, and you'll find his random jokes hilarious! Most of the class was just him going through textbook problems. He needs to update his handouts, instead of writing over them with a thick marker and distributing that. Final was tricky, but not too bad. I'd take another course with him.

too many health issues. He missed 3 classes. Despite classes ending early, the material he tells you not to worry about ends up on midterms and exams. He doesn't explain things clearly and will not adjust grades. He is terrible.

You only need to come to class for participation marks!!! Other than that you're better off at home memorizing! Keith is pretty monotone and is ideal as a bed time storyteller because you'll be asleep before you know it, but he does post last year's midterms and exams for you to practice.

Easier to take this class online, however it wasn't too painful taking it in-class. Expect for classes to be cancelled last min. In class back of the chapter Q's are taken up and contribution marks are given out. EASY CLASS/PROF. Just try not to fall asleep in class.

He is boring and monotone and mumbles. There is no need to come to class unless you want the contribution marks worth 5%. (This actually helped me in the end). Thought I wouldn't do well but did okay in the end. He is very fair in marking- gives easy marks. make sure you know your sections inside out!! MEMORIZE

Keith's a nice prof that doesn't make the course seem too hard. It was nice that he kept the material on the exam strictly to the problems worked on in class. That made it easy to study for. Overall a great prof that made my summer course a lot simpler.

Great prof, use his sample past tests he posts on bb. very easy to get a high mark. he's clarity sucks but the best part is if you read and do problems frm textbook n review his handouts you'll do good. alan kaplan's midterms r soo hard n tricky but macinnes is knowing the concepts. :)

easy..go to class take notes...copy the questions he does from the text because thats what you see on the midterm and final and nothing else... only negative..is that he takes the whole 3 hrs

This prof teaches through examples so attend class. Definitely read the textbook and understand the lyryx. The midterm had questions taken straight from the practice midterm that he posted. Classes ended early almost every week (2 hours only). He isn't very good at teaching theory but overall, really easy.

Finally a Prof that does not use ppt to teach FIN. You have to attend class his class to work through the problems with him but you actually learn something. He is very straight forward and lets you know axactly what you need to know to do well. I thought his class would be dry but his nerdy jokes make it fun. Great Prof
