The best English teacher I have had so far. He uses movies and the internet a lot in class so it's fun and. Lecture was really interesting too. If your a serious English student take this class!! If you put in the effort he notices and it will show in your grade. Highly Recommended!!

Highly Recommended. since he is an English Lit. Master there was alot of reading on great books (generally postmodern). There are only 4 assignments through the entire semeester which releaves alot of pressure. Very insightful and thought provoking if you participate. This class is great if you want to develop critical thinking skills early.

He is an amazing and really cool teacher. He always finds a way to relate to his students on their level. I was surprised though on how much he does care about his students...usually teachers don't care but he really does. He is also great at helping you if you ask him and doesn't make you feel stupid when you don't understand something.

He was a cool teacher. Hes really good with getting work in,and gives you some extra time if you need it. Even though some of the reading can be boring, he talkes about it in interesting ways, and makes you see it differently. Over all hes relly nice, and funny. oooo-eee-oo he looks just like Buddy Holly.

Amazing! He is so passionate about what he teaches. His main focus is getting you to look at EVERYTHING critically. Unlike my last *unmentioned* english teacher he even cultivates your writing skills. He is one of the teachers you will never forget @ DCC.

Professor O'Neil is the most passionate teacher I've ever had. His method of teaching is fun and interesting. I got a D as my final grade, but it was completely my fault(I didn't submit the final paper). Take his class. He's the best english teacher I've ever had!

keith is the man. lax on due dates (midnight the day its due if not whatever) he classes are fun and interesing, no homework, only gives papers, helped me a lot with my writing, let us leave early, fair grader, funny--wen i thinka about being a teacher, i think about being keith oneill

great, great man. He really does keep the class interesting and he is extremely knowledgeable. He gives great tips on writing essays that have really helped me. He keeps the workload pretty light but it does not compromise the quality of the curriculum at all. I highly recommend taking a class with him.

I took his Eng101 class and Eng209. This guy is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend him for any English class you want or might have to take. He works with you, gives advice. Always willing to help. Very clear with his assignments. Makes class exciting.

Keith is a great teacher and encouraged great discussions in the class. I highly recommend him as a teacher because he helped me bring out the writer inside myself I didn't even know was there. If you are there and make an effort you'll most likely get a good grade.

i took his russian literature course. let me say it is indeed a very demanding course. be prepared to b reading a little bit every single day because if you get behind its very easy to b lost in txt. the books demand a lot of attention and critiquing, but his class is excellent hes a very well spoken teacher. will absolutely never leave you lost.

An amazing prof, doesn't rush through literature and allows you to truly appreciate it. Very easy going especially when it comes to due dates for papers. I would take this class again if i could. This class was enlightening, this prof truly loves what he is teaching and really cares how his students are doing.

I was not looking forward to this class because I hate writing and literature, but he made the class really interesting and I actually enjoyed the class and didn't mind the writing. He answers any questions and if you need help with your papers he offers great suggestions. No actual due dates for papers and doesn't care if you attend.

Took his Russian lit. class & loved it. It is truly such a rewarding class, granted you put the work in. He is really laid back and extremely helpful, but the content is dense and you HAVE to do the reading. He isn't a hard teacher, but the content can be rough. He does work you through it, and makes sure all questions are answered.Take this class!

He is much more concerned with form than with content. You have to follow his form. No real room for creativity, just plug in the required elements. You don't really learn to write; you learn to follow instructions.

Keith was essentially my dream professor. He was so understanding, didn't really have a set date for papers. I dreaded this class and he actually made it interesting! So knowledgeable on everything. He took the pressure off for what was a crazy semester for me. He is a hard grader but fair! Put the effort in and you will do well! Excellent teacher!

I always had great grades in English, nothing lower than a B. This class was very tough. I had to push really hard to get above a C. Every little thing was nitpicked, and his handwriting was impossible to read. This made is so comments on your paper were little to no help at all. The required reading was easy, lots of poems. Seemed like a cool guy.

He is a really nice guy and very smart. Definitely knows what he is talking about. The only assignments were about 4 papers, no HW, and he definitely made the final as easy as possible. I have always been in Honors English, and although I steadily did better on each paper, I felt like it was impossible to do great. I think he is a tough grader.

Overall, I enjoyed Dr. O'Neill's class. The lectures were not so boring, he incorporated historical context to the stories we read allowing for more clarity. He only assigned two papers and gave a midterm and final so you have little wiggle room with your grade. He's willing to see you in office ours though, so get help with your papers!!

He was such a chill professor! He sat on his desk and told us to call him by his first name. Participation is a big factor in his class so if you don't like to talk, this might not be the class for you. You need to read the book to pass. If you love English and want a teacher that will encourage and challenge you, it's perfect!

He insists on determining what the authors really mean rather than what they actually wrote and if you don't agree with him, you're wrong. He says to e-mail him with questions but never answers, A big disappointment!!! He also says that he does not have an attendance policy that it is up to you, however he hates it when you miss, that's a policy.

I love Professor ONeill!! The readings for the class were sometimes boring but he still made sure you understood the history /reason behind the text in a clear entertaining way. Never wanted to miss his class, really such a great man. Hes also very understanding and hilarious. 10/10!!

Mr. o'neill was one of the best english teachers i have ever had. he is so amazing, his lectures are always so much fun especially for this class. he make things so interesting. There was a lot of reading but once you get past the reading it is so fun to be in class and talk. There was a 5-7 pg paper required on anything we wanted that I LOVED DO!

Best professor at DCC! I took creative writing fiction, and he gives the best feedback. The whole class also offers feedback during the workshop. For someone who loves writing and wanted to improve, this was the best class for me. I recommend taking this class, especially if you love writing.

The short story class was a lot of fun. We would read short stories from Edgar Allan Poe to current work today. He gives us a timeline of everything that happens during each literary period. Tests were easy, no quizzes. Just study. He gives an optional creative writing assignment instead of traditional paper. He talks about Bartleby a lot.

I loved this class. I want to be a writer and this was really helpful. He was very understanding of outside issues. This was during Fall 2020, he was understanding and worked with us to help us get the most out of the course. My only complaint was that my peers barely participated so I didn't get as much feedback from them as i wanted.

EXCELLENT professor for Eng Comp II. Gives weekly readings, sometimes long. Has discussion boards weekly that you need to put thought into but when you do, he counts it. A few papers but a pretty lenient grader. Also hated poetry and things like that but he picked good samples that made me appreciate it more and liked short stories he chose

Hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. Made my semester so much easier. His workshop was fun and a wonderful way to get supportive and very helpful feedback on your work. He wants you to succeed, and it shows. He made the workshop such a supportive and honest environment. Take him if you can. I can't recommend him enough.

Had 2 classes with Keith and he's super cool. He makes the stuff we go over interesting even if it isn't. I messed up and didn't do any of my s*it but he let me make it all up at the end of the semester and I ended up with a B+. Even took his creative writing class and really enjoyed that as well. Highly recommend you take a class with him.

Professor O'Neill is a knowledgeable and fair grader. He breaks down short stories, poems, and Shakespeare, offering useful tips for essays. Participation counts, but he doesn't do random readings or group work. Essays are fairly graded. Overall, he's engaging and encourages critical thinking.

Professor Keith makes the material engaging even when it's dry. Attendance is mandatory but worth it - the lectures are informative and the free textbook is useful. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for study prep.

I took his Creative Writing: Fiction class. As long as you submit two writing assignments and participate in the discussion boards, you'll do well. I'd definitely recommend this class if you enjoy writing.
