His class could be terribly hard if you are not willing to work hard. He is the best English teacher I have ever had. He is fun, knowleadgeable, and very straigh forward. I strongly recommend him only if you are willing to work hard.

He is a great teacher!!! ESL 25 & 26 are criticak thinking classes. You have to work really hard, but your writing will improve A LOT. He is funny, smart and interesting. I really recommend his class. :)

He is a very nice teacher, cares about his students as if they were his babies. Although his class is somehow difficult, he ALWAYS willing to spend times answering to ANY of your questions! Take him if you really want to improve your English writing skill

He is one of the best instructors in Foothill, if not simply the best. I learned so much from him and I enjoyed every second of his class. Very smart, very organized, very efficient, and vey funny!

He understands that you are an ESL person, so he tries to support you. If you work with him, you will improve by the end of the quarter. He is a bit talkative, but do not get fooled! All the importatnt points are among the stories that he tells! Pay attention to him. Yes, I would take him again.

lol. yea it seems that he likes asian guys, especially Japanese ppl. he's very strict on grades. I guess no one got an A in his class, but you'll learn a lot from him

I have benefited greatly from listening to every point in his lectures. He is very well organized. Even though, it is very difficult to get an A from him, you WILL LEARN A LOT! He is a great teacher! I will take his 26 class for sure and highly recommend to take his class for everybody.

You can definately benifit a lot from this class, if you work hard. He is strict, very strict. You feel under extreme pressure in class, however, it hepls with your English writing ability though.I am gald to be in his calss.

The best ever!!! He has a great teaching method. My writing improved so much!! What he says seems off topic, but than, he brings the examples right where he needs to teach you the topic. He is also funny and interesting in class. I saw people crying when leaving his class. We miss him!

A professional teacher...He knows how to make you feel relaxed, even though with in-class essays. All stories he tells, even including his own experiences, attracts us so much. He always encourages thinking more than just stay in the book.

Man, he's great! Awesome teacher! I'm attracted since the very first lecture. Very clear and insightful! He knows how to encourage your critical thinking. Although sometimes, he makes you lost, but that's ok, at leat with me. All of his stories are interesting. He helps me a lot. Highly recommended

He is a really good professor, and you will learn a lot in his class. He is really funny, and also very clear explaining what he expects from you, and how to do every assignment. I use to hate english, but now I find kind of fun.

Keith is one of the best English teachers I've ever met. He's fun and helpful. I took his ESLL 167 class last Spring quarter. Good grades are easy to get if you know how his class works and teaches.

Kieth is a really helpful and interesting teach! hope he could teach ENG 1A sp I could take it!

Recommended. Hard grader, but helps tremendously with your essays. Gives clear feedback and is very fun in his teaching. Don't be afraid to speak up and ask. Go to his office hour and ask questions; he's extremely helpful during one on one talk.

You will not get bored in this class! Keith is a very intelligent and fun professor. If you are not the best essay writer, he will help you tremendously. Take his class! I'm very glad that I took my brother's advice in taking him.

He is really a good teacher, however, he is hard on grading. I spent hours and hours on the essay and finally I got an A for it. Good thing is there are three times for you to revise your essay. One tip for the class is remember keep a good relation with him and always find him in the office hours to dicuss on your essay.

He is fun and kind of sharp, my only complain is that the only Keith's marks on my assignments was remains of the murdered fly(no joking). Though overall, he teaches good, but grades hard. Also be prepare that there is no intrigue about your final grade- the very first grade you get with Keith is going to be the same as your final grade. Good luck!

Wonderful professor. He genuinely cares about you. He might come off as a tough teacher, but he will dedicate his time and give you great advice if you respect him as a teacher (and his boundaries). Although he is an ESL teacher, he doesn't baby you. He surely will be a good English teacher too if not better. Anyways, take him if you want to learn a lot and can bare bad to decent grades.

Despite his tough grade, he is great and helpful. If you are satisfied with a Pass, he would be a great choice since you can learn a lot from him. What's more, his class doesn't require lots of work,just 1-2 paragraphs per week. REMEMBER, you have to work even for a passing grade.

He encourages students to maximize their ability. If you want to improve in writing,he never disappoints you. He values your ideas and clarity and teach you how to write essay to achieve the goal. Once you get his technique, you must become a good writer.

He is a wonderful teacher! I read some negative comments, but I believe he is fare and grades you your ablility. Now I'm taking ENG 1A and I really appreciate him as I would not get through 1A without Keith's lessons. If you really want to be a good writer and improve your skills, then you should take him. It's challenge, but worth it.

It's hard on grading! But don't need to worry, he will help you and he gives long enough time for each essay. Even though I am not good with writing, his purpose is helping you to think WHY. therefore his grading more base on the idea and the argument you have but not grammar and vocabulary. by the way, He is very funny and intellegence.Have fun!

He is one of the most intelligent professors I have ever met in my life. He gives great life lessons, and opens your eyes and your mind to new thoughts. His class is clear if you pay attention. Make sure to take notes and pay attention to his meta-lingual vocabulary terms. He is actually a very lenient grader. I got an A and so can you.

I really like Mr Pratt! He is a unique one at Foothill. His opinions are strong and sometimes he can be too straightforward, but don't mind, he is a cool guy inside. He knows what he teaches. As a result, after taking his class I'm more confident in critical writing and my vocabulary became wider. I strongly recommend him to all smart ESL students

He is so helpful he makes it his mission to help you write a paper or understand the readings. Yes, he can be harsh, but that is his humor. And he doesn't hand out higher grades, but when you get one, you really REALLY appreciate it. And after receiving said grade, you actually remember the material you were taught. Overall, I LOVED HIM!!!

I am a typical ESL student from Asian. He didn't give me any fancy grade. But I still want to say something on him.If you have been this country for a while and rally do understand the meaning of high ESL level composition, choose him. Trust me, you may feel special connection from his lecture.

Yes! Professor Pratt can be harsh, but you will learn a lot. I like his humor and wisdom. He is pretty easy on our essays and allowed us to revised them three times before you turn it in for final grading. Take him, you will definitely learn in his class, and prepare you for your next ESLL level and beyond.

If you decided to learn real English writing and you want to be good at it just take his class. You will face by several hard step the he will put for you but by end of the class you will find out how much you get better at writing. I enjoyed his class. Bless him.

Prof. Pratt is very strict and a hard grader, but you can tell that he really wants you to think critically in a way where you actually have to look beyond each topic and think for yourselves! He tends to talk a lot about his own experiences and jokes around, which is fun, and he let you rewrite your essays 3 times to make them "perfect"!

His class is hard but he teaches you what you need to learn in order to write a good academic essay. Plus, he is a one of those professors who actually grades you and cares about students. Even though he is a harsh grader, it's worth taking his class.

Mr. Pratt is not a harsh grader nor an easy A teacher. Just pay attention to his lectures, do what he wants you to do and you'll easily get a good grade. If you don't do your part, don't complain about the teacher. Mr. Pratt is actually a great experienced teacher that cares about teaching. I recommend taking his class.

Keith is great! He is the best prof I've ever had! He is a smart guy, and he views things differently, which is inspiring when he discusses his view with us in class. Not a harsh grader at all, but you gotta work hard for that A. He's an extremely intelligent man albeit sarcastic (very funny sarcasm), took him for my first quarter.

At first I thought he was a little bit weird, but indeed he is a very fantastic teacher. I get a lot of improvements from his class. If you really need to prepare a good foundation for English 1A, take his class and you'll never regret it.

He's just amazing and inspirational. He really teaches how to read (and write) and gives you a whole different perspective. Tests are tough, and he got high standard, make sure to answer clearly. Tbh his class helps more than my other esl class.

Keith is funny, talkative and inspirational. Class isn't really that difficult as long as you put in a decent amount of time to your work. Choose this guy if you want to have fun while building a good foundation in english.

He is one of the stone that broken the dream of English students I recommended for high level not for ESL. He tuff with grading . Don't Don't take him if you want just to pass or you want to get A+. It is impossible to get A+ with him.

Keith is amazing! He's inspiring and you can learn a lot from him. I have never had any teacher that make me feel my improvement this clearly before. Just after 3 weeks, I became more confident and know what I were doing. Everything he taught is very helpful and gives you a strong basic. He might be sassy but no one can say complain about his work

Take note of the terms. It will be on your test. His tests is totally skill tests(even finals), which you don't even have to study, just take a look at what he has taught. 2midterms+ 1finals. Homework throughout the course are mainly 4 summaries (only haft page to one page, double space, he will teach you everything you need to do it).

He is the best teacher I have ever met in Foothill. He is very straightforward, critical and some kinds of humor; but he really knows Languages and the way how to teach,which is quite different from other ordinary ESL teachers. If you work hard, you will win the grade you should have. Hope he can teach more classes like spoken English and writing.

I took 2 of his class, 237 & 249. He grades severely but his lecture is awsome! In the class, he talks abstractly and most of students may not cleary understand his real intention during a quater, but what we learn from him affcts throughout our lives. I recomend taking his class to those who really want to improve writing skills.

Of all the ESL English courses, Keith's class is the most satisfying, intellectually challenging at Foothill College. I still benefit a lot from his teaching after 14 years later. No other ESL26 teacher inquires this much intellectual intensity in student's intelligence to spark ideas of intrinsic depth and beauty.

Although I only got an A- due to procrastination, Keith's class is just more than memorable, of humor and intellectual curiosity. I never regret. I just love this course! :D One of the toughest course that shaped me of whom I am today, and leads me to the key element of American higher education. Am so thankful to him, as an international student.

By far one of my best English teachers. He is super funny and laid back. His class is simple and he teaches you material that is beneficial. There hasn't been a day where he doesn't crack a joke or make the laugh class! He gives light homework and rarely any quizzes or tests. Show up to class, put in effort and participation and you should do fine

He is an amazing teacher. I got ESL 249 and it was the first ESL class that I get. He is knowledgeable and he really did his best to teach us something. He really helps students to learn something. Happy to have class with him :)

I'm quite straightforward and I prefer lectures that are precise and organized. Keith's teaching style was sometimes too abstract and stubborn, however, mostly the content and the knowledge that he tried to deliver to students were reasonable and logical. He is a tough grader, but if you understand what he's talking about, then don't worry!

Keith is very passionate about English, but sometimes he might go a little bit off topic in order to state his personal opinion about things. He is one of the best English teachers in College. You will learn a lot if you take his class.

He is actually genius and unique. One of the smartert professors at Foothill, and it's smarter than many of other academic professors (non-ESL professors).

He teaches us so many things which other professors dont teach! As some students comments.. yes, his class is not easy. You may need certain time to work on his assignments, but it is the WAY you learn and all of the class have to be like him! He organized his class very well and gives us detailed feedback.
