Awesome teacher. Very passionate about the subject. It's definitely not an easy A, but it's worth the work. He's got an odd sense of humor but class is always interesting. I highly recommend his classes.

I had him for English lit. He was extremely helpful and kind. He is a hoot in class! He does a thorough job when correcting your essays. Just make sure your quotes support the ideas you discuss. Overall, had a blast in his night class.

Not the easiest class, but he is fair with his grades. Entertaining in class. He goes over all material and will answer questions. I'd take his class again.

I loved his class when I took it a few years ago. Never boring! I liked the fact that his class was entertaining and he encouraged creativity.

He has a twisted sense of humor that will make you love his class. He's really hard to please when it comes to the essays, but he is also very helpful with telling you what he wants out of your work. Great teacher!

What an interesting man! I throughly enjoyed his class. He encourages independent thought, and believes that everyone is entitled to their own perspective. It was a time-consuming class as far as writing and studying, but definitely worth it!

Had the Kiethster for Comp I. Great teacher, but expects everyone to improve(ie...it's college). You can't submit the same effort each time and expect a high grade. Does not care if you pass or fail, thats your decision. If you need help he is ALWAYS available to give you that help. If you want an easy passing grade, don't take him!!

He takes info that is normally boring and brings it to life. I really enjoyed his class. Just don't go in there thinking it will be a breeze. He is difficult, but its worth it.

If some people don't like a lot of cussing, or want to take a easy class...this ain't for you. He will challenge your logical thinking. He is hard, but for some odd reason he is a very good teacher. You might fail, I almost did, but I learned so much that I'm now using it in all my other classes.

he is very humorous! and u really learn how to think and expand your horizons in his class. by far the best instructor ive ever had.

If you are trying to maintain that President´s List GPA, I would suggest looking elsewhere. He grades at LEAST 1-2 to one full letter grade harder than any other PJC teacher I have experience with. On the other hand if you want to, you can learn something from this guy. Very helpful and very available but you will work very hard for that A.

Keith was by far one of the hardest teachers that I have ever had, but I would take him again for any class he offers! Not only was he always available for any questions pertaining to assignmentsm he also helped me with numerous other classes. He is always willing to meet with students. If you have a sense of humor, you will love this class!

Mr. Prendergast is a great teacher! He's always available to help students outside of class. He met me at Hardees one Saturday morning to discuss my paper! Keith is definitely a difficult teacher, but as long as you follow his directions and keep an open mind, you'll pass. He's great!

I love this guy! he is so funny and is such a jerk but he is a great teacher! he tells you exactly what he wants in the papers and grades them accordingly! he keeps you entertained and tells stories and you can never be sure if they are the truth or not! lol! but he is very helpful and straightforward!

This instructor is very provocative, sarcastic, and intelligent. He does not hand out easy grades, but that isn't the point of college, now is it? He is a harsh grader, but the time and effort is worth it. I would recommend this instructor to students who are actually adults and not little children.

I didn't want to take this teacher after reading the previous comments. But I had a great time. Everyone in my class seemed to enjoy him also. He's very sarcastic & funny. He's helpful if you ask. He'll meet w/ you somewhere if needed. If you have no sense of humor then don't take him. He's not a hard grader just knows this is college. Do the work!

If you: Take everything personally, do not have half a working brain, are easily offended, lack a personality, & are not a serious student then do NOT take this teacher. He is sarcastic, funny, & expects COLLEGE level work. He's helpful & entertaining. Not conventional, boring, or conservative.

If you are pompous and you think you're a great writer, Mr. Prendergast with break you down and destroy everything you know about writing. This is how English and Literature professors should be. It's good to have teachers like him.

Stories were somewhat boring at times. He has a dry or dark sense of humor. Very funny if you don't take things literally or seriously. Fair but hard grader at times. Lets you know what he expects upfront. Pay attention to checklist and read. He's a great teacher. I would highly recommend him! Out of the norm

STRANGE. First impression was that he hadn't gotten past the 60s, judged by his appearance. Lots of good stories. Put the information out, but graded essays as if we were all documented nevelists...VERY HARD. But he is fair. You have to respect him for his knowledge. Always available to help after hours.

DO NOT take this class if you don't like swearing- when I left him a note asking him to stop, he just made fun of it in front of the whole class. We picked our own topics for some of the papers, and he would read our ideas to the class and make rude comments if he didn't like them

It's not impossible to make an A in his class. I did and I hated/feared writing. If you think at least and a lot are one word, can't use spell check, or have a closed mind you won't like him. If you actually want to learn something he's an incredible teacher. Notice how most of the people complaining have little to no grammar or spelling skills?

Keith Prendergast is an OK teacher. If you've got a good sense of humor you'll be fine in the class. definitely NOT an easy A, he grades hard on the papers, but i found out all you have to do is write very plain and simple, and you'll get A's. Came out of the class with a B. Be there at class, if lots of people dont show up he'll give a quiz.

Good teacher. Wants you to think critically about your topics. Just write your essay like he says, have good ideas, explain them properly Then you'll get good grades on your essays. Does Very Simple pop quizes when few people show to class.

Very good teacher, does not show any favorites in class, and grades show no mercy. The grade you EARN is the grade you will get.

He seems hard at first. He will help you if you want it. He is very helpful and he is funny.

Overall, Mr. P is a good teacher. On the bad side, he can be profane and is very opinionated-especially about politics and religion (of course). On the good side, he explains well and makes himself available to review papers and when you otherwise need help. Not an easy A; but his writing assignments will definitely help you in other classes.

If you're a good writer you MAY get an A. This the only class in 9 classes that I've gotten a B in. Several of the students failed this full term class. He talks about most controversial subjects and makes you write papers on the subjects. He likes to give easy quizzes if people are late. I DO NOT recommend this class.

If you are a decent writer, you shouldn't have a problem. However, if you have trouble writing or dislike profanity, I wouldn't take his classes. He will provide help and he explains test material. My issue with him was that I had two female classmates that were attractive and "buddy-buddy" with him that received A's on everything, I was suspicious

He's an amazing teacher. He's very funny and makes going to class worthwhile. He helps you understand the stories you read by thoroughly discussing them during class. His quizzes are easy. His essays are a little difficult, but he gives good advice to help you start out. I'm definitely going to miss this class!

GREAT teacher.He is very interesting,witty, intelligent,and nice.He will help you improve your writing and grammar skills.VERY EASY CLASS.VERY COOL TEACHER.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.Just do a small amount of studying, write your essays, listen to his advice on your writing, and bring him a black coffee with some cream and sugar and you will pass. :)

he's an okay teacher, uses a lot of examples and makes essay topics clear. DO NOT buy the textbook, you NEVER use it. he's really sarcastic and is semi fair on grading. easy quizzes and tests..don't think too hard about the questions. overall he was a decent english teacher.

K.P. knows how to take a difficult subject and make it interesting. For that he, must be given credit. His character goes a long way, and this guy has it. He presses for critical thinking. I would definitely take his class again -- but I'd definitely try to be prepared. If you're keen, take his class. If you're a hobby student, don't.

BEST TEACHER EVER!!

I'm in the middle of the semester and I think he is great. I use the book because I CARE about learning and CARE about getting it right. He doesn't give busy work, and why should he? Maybe some people are stuck writing middle school essays, but I'm in college here. He gives plenty of help when you seek it.

Prendergast's class is enjoyable. He chooses topics that make the class think critically. Have a sense of humor, lighten-up and if you want an A, then take the steps he gives you and ask questions along the way. Great teacher, I recommend him to anyone who enjoys a straight-to-the-point lecture and who can laugh a little.

He is a great teacher with a snarky attitude; I absolutely loved him. If you know how to write, or meet him outside of class for help, you will pass. I have earned A's on every paper. He is perfectly clear when explaining what needs to be in each essay. If you show up for class, you will not only laugh at subtle jokes, but learn something each day.

He's a tough teacher with a cunning sense of humor. His class isn't drawn on a boring. He grades hard because he actually wants his students to learn. GREAT TEACHER. Funny guy.

He's a funny guy and he had my interest. He is a harsh grader and essays are hard. It's hard to pass the class with an A. I made a C and I took this class under dual enrollment. His lectures are clear and I learned a lot. You really need to pay attention in class and write down as many notes as you can. Pay attention and ask questions!

Mr. Prendergast is a brilliant, outstanding teacher who expects excellence and helps students who need it. He spends every Saturday at Barnes and Noble helping students. I had him in the spring and hope to have him in the fall. Because of his high standards, you should bring your "A" game.

Mr. P is smart, knows his stuff. Pretty arrogant. Dear Lord don't let him know that you hold any religious beliefs or are anything but a liberal. A fair amount of innuendo. Told me that I should become a college professor bc I look like I would get a lot of girls. TL;DR: Smart guy, inappropriate. I wrote at a higher level than he taught.
