this guy knows his stuff. good teaching style; fun and informative. very clear.
Informative, but 90 mins of lecture for 4 months is BORING
He is an awesome teacher! His class is very entertaining and to the point!
I really enjoy going to his class every day. His tests can be hard, but he gives you lots of notes to study from. He is a good professor.

He could be a better teacher. He definately knows his stuff but personally, i don't think he explains it well enough for people to understand. He has a tendancy to move through things a little too slowly. To the point where you just want to sleep
I am more interested in government because of him. His tests were multiple choice with one essay question, every question is from the notes in class it is easy if you go to every class. GOOD TEACHER!
Intersting and organized lectures. Tests are 20 questions + essay, from the notes. He lets his class get loud and out of control though...
What can I say? He knows his stuff, but the thing that really makes him shine is that he knows how to say what he knows in PLAIN ENGLISH so everyone can understand what he's saying. If you have a dispute on a test question, he lets you rewrite it for
Very good teacher. Very clear on what is expected of you. Gets the whole class involved in discussion.
I got in a car accident on the day of an exam, this instructor did not let me retake the test because I didn't call him on the day of the accident. I got a D in the class because I missed a test. He was very rude, I wish I could get my money back.
this guy is killing my semester...all the other comments on him are a lie...dont believe them..hes a choch
Great teacher! My class had great participation which made it even funner. I learned a lot!
HORRIBLE....DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR THIS CLASS
Very good teacher. I didnt like gov. before this class but some how I paid some attention. Great guy to get along with. But you have to make the best of all of the situations.
Dr. St. Clair is a awesome teacher. I absolutely had a blast in his International Relations class. He loves student input very much. Very, very highly reccomended!
BEWARE OF STATE & lOCAL POLITICS WITH HIM.We did a service learning project and he expected everything to be perfect according to journalism standards because HE used to write for a newspaper. We are political science students not journalism students. He can talk about nothing forever, its boring!!!!
he spent the first 6 weeks of class going over the first section and left only a week for the last test then the class period after the last test we had to take our final exam No matter how well you know the matterial you will still get a B+ at most don't take him at all costs he's is no help at al
He is not very helpful, but he knows his stuff. If you can keep up with his boring style than you will do okay. He can be rude, he is not a nice guy when you are one-to-one, so whatever you got to say, might as well be in the class, you will get a better answer.
He was really difficult to have as a teacher.
I dropped his class after the first day! If you don't need the class DON'T take it, he assigns a service learning project that will take up alot of time outside the class.
Haven't had a test yet, but this guy is hilarious. I have so much fun in his class. He is funny and interesting and makes political science fun. He teaches you the interesting stuff and doesn't get upset when people ask crazy questions or go off on wacky tangents. So far this class is great!
I can't even think of a word to describe this man. Kinda weird. Class was alright and the tests weren't too hard. The magazine quizes were stupid and he made you feel stupid in front of everyone if you dont know the answer. Just stay on his good side.
He is a big jerk. He always thinks he is right about everything even when he is not. He deff. picks favorites and they are the only ones who will do good.
he sucks!
Great guy! Annoying that people don't do the work and then complain about their grades. :P Really, really good prof.
AWEFUL. I got a good grade in his class, but I hated every minute of his pointless lectures, and wondered why I even went. Tests were hard, but ok if you are self motivated. He offers no help, and is an opinionated jerk. He doesnt even know that much about the subject matter, but won't listen to input from the class that knows more than he does
HORRIBLE CLASS. BORING. RIDICULOUS. POINTLESS. HES A HUGE JERK. STAY AWAY. TRY AS HARD AS YOU CAN NOT TO TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM. IT COULD HAVE BEEN INTERESTING, HE RUINED IT!

I took this class with no knowledge of the world but he helped explain things clearly. After the semester we all went out for beer! (I am 25)
Very good instructor for any political science question. He's competent, organized, and most of all, he's FAIR. If you get a question wrong on a test and you feel the question isn't clear, he'll give you credit if you re-word the question to make it clearer. He explains things well and is flexible about meeting with students to help them understand
He really knows the subject matter. Unlike popular opinion, he does not pick favorites, he is quite fair, and you will do well if you know your stuff. Ps- be sure to read the text. He does not have great classroom control, though, so just pray you get a good class.
This guy just sucks, he picks favorites and is very intimidating. i liked the material, but he made it so bad because of his oppinions... and how WRONG your oppinions are. he belittles you in class and treats you like crap
His test are tough, but he will offer you help and his grading scale is lower than the average which makes up for it. 86-90% is an A- and 90% and up is an A. His class is really intresting but frusturating at times beacuse he lets the class conversation get way of topic. He likes to play devil's advocate. He is fair and presents both sides.
Rude and insulting. He attempted to proof one of my papers only to make a fool out of himself since he apparently has no clue how to conjugate. Furthermore, the class is totally subjective. All of his grades are based on whether he agrees with you or not. More than half my class dropped him in the first month. He's a Liberal and Pro-Choice advocate
I had Mr St Clair my freshman year, he was awesome. A little intimidating at first, but once I got used to him and his sense of humor I enjoyed his class. Very helpful, if you want the help. Awesome professor.
I had him for Comp Gov - and he is very keen in the area he teaches. My entire class loved him. As for the commenters who have a beef with him being liberal - He never once was rude to a person in my class, however he would debate with us, devels advocate for both sides. You will get upeset if you cant handle someone smart ripping on your debates.
He was boring at times, but a decent professor. The tests were based on his lecture notes and I only used to book to look up key words or topics. Unfortunately if you were not one of the smartest in class he would definately continue to make you feel that way.
My first impression was, "Oh man, this guy is going to be an ****," but soon enough, he proved my assumption to be wrong. He lays out course information point for point, and doesn't test you on things that are not included in the notes taken. Also, he is intelligent, experienced, witty, and has one wicked cool sense of humor.
I liked comparative gov't class a lot. I've taken all of his classes except PS 110. He is a great teacher and is always willing to help you if you are willing to ask. Funny at times. I recommend the class because it is interesting.
I enjoyed this class. He has a good sense of humor, as long as he's not laughing at you. Make sure you read the articles, somehow he can read your mind if you didn't. Buying the textbook wasn't necessary, all the notes needed were given in class. I would take one of his classes again.
Gheesh. Unwilling to work with students. Arrogant. Very poor communication skills. Students talked bad about him behind his back. None were willing to confront.
Easy class. I've never had a problem with passing government classes at all.
knowlegable and easy going
He pontificates constantly, likes to hear his own voice. He tries to be funny, fails. Doesn't get tests graded in a timely manner. I loved poly sci prior to his class, now I find it distasteful. Really easy though.
Doesnt use the book much, but his lectures are pretty solid, especially because he puts an outline up on the board. You could not pay attention at all and just write down whats on the board and study that, and probably get at least a B.
Standard teacher, never uses the book.
Definitely have to attend lectures to pass the class. Most tests are over the notes he gives in class. A lot of people failed the class... but if you study and pay attention, you should do okay.
The biggest thing I hated was the short answer portion of the tests. He wants what he wants and he doesn't settle for less. It was next to impossible to get full points on that stupid thing.
Great teacher! Easy to get along with. Made learning a breeze.
I loved this teacher. I'm conservative but i loved interacting with him and he was interesting. If you went to class and didn't get an A you're a moron. i missed maybe 3 classes and didnt get lower than a 96 on any test. no point in getting the book really though.
Good teacher
do NOT get the textbook you will never use it! he lectures the whole time and the notes is all you will need to pass the tests. the only thing i didn't like was the short answer question...it's either all or nothing
The text book is not needed to get an A in this class. Just take notes.
I think he is a great professor. Everything that's on his tests he has gone over and gives you great notes to study from. I liked this class so much that I'm taking another class of his.
I expected to be in constant debate in this class but surprisingly he put very little liberal bias into his lectures. He's a nice laid back guy who teaches exactly whats on the tests. You don't need the book for this so dont bother.
Do not buy the book, LISTEN to him talk and take notes. The tests are somewhat hard so be prepared. He's a cool dude, you'll enjoy his enthusiasm.
He is a pretty good professor, he can be a jerk sometimes but I really enjoyed the class! As long as you show up and take notes there is no reason you shouldn't get an A! His class was very interesting and you can learn a lot from him.
He is a very good professor. The only grades in the class are the tests, which are NOT hard if you actually listen to his lectures and take good notes. His tests are EXACTLY what he lectures on. If you study well, you WILL do just fine. He is always willing to help if you need it. He's nice and laid back. I didn't think I would like the class, but
good prof.test are kind of hard if you don't know whats going on in the class
he is an ok teacher not bad funny knows a lot but he does put people on the spot if you dont what your doing
You don't use the book. He is boring, nothing but notes. If you miss a day, good luck. The articles are unnecessary but they are on the test. Just for fun, he needs some fashion sense.
Overall I can't say he's a horrible teacher, but I learned very little in the class. I only took the class to fulfill my credits requirement, but if you need to take the class make sure you follow the syllabus exactly.
He works hard to broaden your perspective and provides his students with an educated lens through which to view the world of politics; very engaging if you can handle his "abruptness"(He will ask you to back up what you have to say). I loved this class. Pay attention in his courses and you will learn something!!
I've had him for 2 classes and he is great! Everything he goes over in class is on his tests so take good notes! He's always willing to tutor/help you all you have to do is ask! I would definitely recommend him!
Great teacher! I really thought I hate this class because gov was such a drag in high school. He made it very interesting though, i learned so much and accualy find politics interesting now. But dont buy the text book, he never uses it, all al that is on the testis what he says in class.
Dont get the text book. Read every article and make sure you understand it! he is always willing to help! Over all its an easy class as long as you pay attention! I hate a lot of fun!
I would like this guy if he wasn't a poli-sci teacher. Everything we read, watch, or talk about is one sided. Left winger, and the content in the class is very bias. He's a pretty cool guy though. (looks just like the 40 year old virgin)
Take Him! There are no suprises, notes are structured the same every day, it can get boring now and then but its CC pretty much every class is somewhat, but the readings can be actually interesting. Takes attendance every day so show up. But youll be happy that this is a MACRO that doesnt need worrying. Dont buy book we never used it.
He is an awful prof! If he asks you a question, and you don't understand it, he looks at you like you are an idiot! He is very boring and an overall awful prof!
DO NOT BUY THIS TEXTBOOK! He clearly stated on our first day of class that he doesn't even like the textbook the department head chose. All material on the test is taken directly from the notes he gives in class. Make sure you pick someone to cover for you if you miss class because he will not email them to you.
Really nice prof. He makes gov fun and rather interesting. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. WASTE OF MONEY. I haven't opened it once this semester and am doing fine. Show up to class and pay attention and you will pass. Gets off topic sometimes and will have random conversations about unrelated topics. Fun guy! I highly recommend him!
Really easy class if you show up and take notes. All tests are based off your notes. Never used the book. Makes you read articles every week but you can find them for free on economist website. Pretty interesting guy. If you don't know what your talking about then don't speak up or else you will get thrashed.
Professor St. Clair really makes the topics interesting and easy to learn. Class is very structured (which I like because the tests and assignments are predictable)but there is room for discussion. Both I.R. and Comparative Government were similarly structured, but I liked I.R. better for some reason, though both were interesting.
Great teacher! He really knows his stuff! Very interesting. It is really easy to pay attention in his class. Just make sure you take great notes and study for the exams and you should be fine. A total of 4 exams in the class. They aren't that hard. No homework ever. No need for your textbook.
he is not the best teacher ever. first day of class he was close to an hour late. we bought the book and we dont even use it. if he asks you a question and you dont know it he gives you a dumb deer look and ask another person
he's alright. i have the same political views as him, but honestly cannot stand the way he talks sometimes. you need to either agree with him or you wont do well. also - make sure you read, if you don't he will know and will call you out on the spot and make you feel stupid. overall, the class was fine. do your work and youll pass.
I did not like this class AT ALL. He grades super harsh and the tests are hard. He never lets you out early not even a minute. Be prepared to read articles every week and discuss them. Makes you feel dumb if you don't know answers. Opinions are bias. Don't buy the book, never used it.
I did not like this class AT ALL. He grades super harsh and the tests are hard. He never lets you out early not even a minute. Be prepared to read articles every week and discuss them. Opinions are bias. Don't buy the book, never used it.
Questions for his test are worded carefully, and he is very intelligent. Slightly arrogant but I found it humorous. Pay attention in class, and you won't need the textbook.
He is not a bad professor but his test are hard to understand. If you meet with him which he is very flexible then he will break everything down and it then all makes sense. You will not be allowed to miss class at all if you do you won't do well on the 4 test he gives. He does not give homework just lecture them tests. You must be a good note take
This was the worst professor that I have ever taken at GRCC. His lectures are extremely boring, and his notes are long and pointless. He makes you feel dumb when you don't have an answer to his biased questions. When he asks you questions you're put on the spot, and removes points for not having the answer that he's looking for infront of everyone.
I had a lot of fun in this class. some people think he's a jerk, but I think he's easy to get along with. be prepared to read quite a few articles from The Economist. I'm not a fan of the new way of using the book(online). you WILL NEED the book in order to pass the class, but you'll never need to bring it to class. you just need the code for the hw.
The worst professor I have had in the three years that I have been at CC. He is very rude and makes you feel stupid if you don't answer all of his oral quizzes correct. The book was pointless to buy, never used it. Way too much homework every single weekend. Overall, terrible teacher.
Absolute worst teacher I have had yet at GRCC. Honestly, I can say I learned nothing from Prof. St. Clair. Don't get me wrong, he is a very very smart guy, but teaching really isn't his gig. If you are looking for an easy A take this class, also if he doesn't change the online part of this class you can find all over your test answers online.
I had Professor St. Clair this past semester and he is amazing. Even though I felt like I learned more from the book, his lectures and overall class time was entertaining. You can tell that he really loves the subject he is teaching. I recommend him for any Government classes. I would take his class again.
Professor St. Clair was a decent professor. Very intelligent and knowledgeable in his subjects, but can be very condescending in expressing it. Class is simple; read Economist articles ( which you must subscribe to) and discuss them, take notes, and have tests. Study because the tests are not as easy a described. Textbook was never used, FYI.
Honestly, this was a super easy class. If you study, read the book, pay attention in class, and take careful notes, you'll be fine. The tests are super easy and not as complicated as you'd guess from the lecture material. He knew his stuff, but was very arrogant and always had to argue with students, which is why I didn't talk much--he got annoying
He lectured his opinion, online homework had nothing to do with tests, went into them blind. Weekly essays, no extra credit ever
If you pay attention in lectures you'll be fine. He has interesting stories and teaches very clearly. His essay questions on exams are graded really tough. I've taken him for three different PS classes.
He decided to try REVEL and hardly taught anything. We learned 90% of the information on REVEL. There was a quiz and essay for every chapter. One project that was fairly easy, and he makes you read Economist articles to discuss in class. I don't suggest taking this class unless you wish to be bored and really irritated with your professor.
Although he had a good sense of humor, he was trying a new program that made it nearly impossible for any of his students to connect. He could have been a decent prof but because of all the changes, I hardly learned anything.
Unstructured, no syllabus for the class so i had no idea what we were going to be doing each class. Lectures were confusing, and unclear what their focus was. Hard to follow, boring.
You are way better off taking the class online and NOT having him as a teacher period!!! Even if you work your butt off in the class, which I did because I like to be an A student all of the time, you won't get any reward!!
For PS201 (Comparative Governments), if you want an easy A, this is the professor to take. If you want to actually learn something comprehensive instead of remembering Wikipedia-level facts about countries, I would suggest finding a different professor for this course (if there is one). Don't buy the book if you take this class; never used it!
He is condescending. The online textbook (Pearson Revel) used in class is a joke. The material you hear him lecture will not help you with revel chapter assignments, don't bother taking notes. Also be prepared to have tech issues with revel program loading, and grades not posting. He will tell you he can't do anything about it and to call Pearson.
Make sure you do the online tests and quizes. Don't rely on him to help you at all.
He can be very condescending, and his lectures never pertain to anything on the tests or in the homework. You will have to do all of the learning yourself online. On the bright side, his absence penalty is low, and you'll never miss anything in class anyway, so it never hurts to skip.
Doesn't always stick to his word, says he's willing to work with you if you have to miss class, That's a lie. Get ready to read a lot of material including revel, and economist (oh yea they don't tell you that prior to class). He's very opinionated and isn't excepting to life experiences or others opinions.
Absolutely worst teacher in the world. He doesn't do anything that relates to the class. On mondays all we do is go over the economist that has nothing to do with the exams. If you don't answer his questions he makes you feel like you are stupid. On wednesdays their is a group project, which takes up most of the hour. Better off teaching yourself.
All of the work is done online, with very few actual assignments that relate to test material. Take this professor if you want an online class that makes you show up to hear lectures that don't help. On the bright side, his attendance punishment is very low, so you can skip a lot.
I think people don't like this class because he spends a lot of time going over articles from the Economist, but I think these articles are interesting. Although they are rarely tested over it helps your understanding of global issues. I also think he covers the important things in class and gives you a study guide. Overall easy class if you try.
Great professor. Not a tough grader, but will let you know if something is wrong. Participation is huge in the class. As long as you know what you're talking about, you will succeed in this class with St. Clair.
Terrible textbook, terrible grading system, terrible at being an instructor. I filed multiple complaints about him with the school regarding his behavior. Normally I consider tenure to be a good thing, but not in this case.
St. Clair is a good professor if you love lectures and a sense of humor. He will focus on Economist articles that pertain to a topic you talked about in class, and you better hope you read them or he doesn't call on you. If you don't give a sufficient answer he will drill you until you do. He is a very knowledgeable man, but not much of a people person
This was the worst class I have ever taken at GRCC. There is no homework besides the Economist articles, and there are 4 tests that cover material you don't learn. The study guides aren't helpful, the textbook wasn't used; I even failed all 4 tests. I have taken plenty of hard classes at CC and still received at least a 'B'. I wouldn't recommened
At first this professor seemed like he hated the clsss but as time passed and we interacted more with him he seemed more lovely. One group presentation, one in class essay, 3-4 tests all online(can find answers easy), and economist articles. These articles are every Tuesday things sometimes we would spend the whole hour on these. Class was easy tho
This guy is funny and a pleasure to have as a professor. Weird group assignments but he will always keep you entertained
St. Clair is a funny guy, but say the wrong thing and he will make you look stupid. The class is entertaining, you won't be bored. He is a tough grader. I really can't tell if I love or hate this guy.
The professor was very demeaning if you said something incorrect. The class requires a Revel book reading with quizzes that don't help towards anything in the class. There are also economist articles, and he will pick on you if you do not get the correct answer. By far the worst prof i've had at GRCC and this is my third year.
Absolutely everything you do in this class doesn't even relate to the overall class or exams. Everything you do is online, he's rude, and says he will work with you; that's a lie. He makes you feel stupid and look stupid in front of the class if you answer a question incorrectly. Wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone.
He's very opinionated and isn't excepting to life experiences or others opinions. He can be very condescending, and his lectures never pertain to anything on the tests or the homework. You will have to do all of the learning yourself online. He's very sarcastic and rude.
I do not understand why people do not enjoy this class. This was one of the easiest A's you can obtain (PS110). 3 of the 4 tests are online (hard not to get an A). The one difficult thing is the written essay and if you put some effort into it you'll be fine. Only reason don't pass is from lack of effort.
He likes to keep the class involved and doesn't ask a ridiculous amount of work from you. Make sure to read the assigned articles for easy points. Online Revel textbook and quizzes are easy to do. Definitely recommend
Online class is very tough. You must participate in discussions 4 days each week or you get deducted. You also have to take chapter quizzes each week on Pearson 4 hours reading and a 15 question test for each chapter. You'll spend at least 10 hour each week reading, discussing, and quizzing. Not a class to take if you work full-time!
St. Clair really isn't as bad as many of these reviews make him out to be. He can be a bit snarky, yeah, but he was clear on homework guidelines and also pretty entertaining. The homework consisted of Revel chapters, Economist articles, 1 group project, and a few tests. It's an easy A if you do your homework and participate in class.
Very condescending, rude, lectures don't add up to what's in the homework, he assigns to read the economist articles, and then asks questions that aren't even about the article. Definitely wouldn't recommend to any of my peers.
Was super snarky to students and made you look stupid in front of the whole class if you didn't know something.
I accidentally spilled water all over my laptop during one of the tests and he refused to let me retake it. just don't see that as a prof that wants his students to do well.
Prof. St. Clair overall is an alright teacher, but he can be quite condescending. Some may be put off but to those who can see past it will do fine. You have to read Economist Articles for each class and discuss them at random for points which is annoying. Tests are multiple choice (gives study guide) and a short answer. Textbook is useless.
Was a nice teacher until the last few weeks. Mother passed away and wasnt very lenient on my grade and failed my by .2 percentages over missing 10 points on something that happened the week of the death. All other professors have a little more heart in a situation like this. Educated teacher, was nice all the way til the end. Very disappointed.
He tells things exactly how he sees them but as long that won't offend you then you'll be fine. 3 online tests, one essay style. Economist magazine readings weekly. Take good notes on the readings as he will grill you pretty hard to make sure you understood what you read. Don't use textbook except to log in for online quizzes.
St. Clair is a narcissist that cares more about the sanctity of his precious syllabus than he does about his students. However he noticeably has 'favorite' students that are awarded special consideration. Class itself isn't difficult, just busy work; no extra credit, no late assignments.
Great professor
I took this class online over the summer and it was the easiest thing you could possibly do. every quiz has the answers online where their are quizlets made every test with all the answers. With it being online that is the most of your grade and you dont need to do a single thing, just google the quiz and you will pass with an "A"
By far the worst teacher I've had at GRCC. He is so rude and demanding to every student he speaks with. The most biased person i've ever met. All quizzes are online and your final is an essay question that he grades very hard. He makes you feel stupid and calls every student out in class. I would not take this class with him again!!
Most class periods are spent discussing economist articles or taking notes. Tests are the majority of your grade. Textbook not used at all. Professor can be funny at times and will give extra help to studying for the exams upon request!
He goes exactly by the book and is not lenient for anyone, no matter the circumstances. His only offer is to meet with him before tests or whenever needed to help go over information. He will make you feel dumb, even if you did the assigned reading or have been paying attention and you just genuinely don't understand it. Can be insensitive.
One of the easiest if not the easiest class Ive taken in college. No papers, no group projects. The class requirements are clearly described in the syllabus. 10 short article readings, 5 graded articles that you turn in, and 3 tests. Attendance is important for articles. If you show up,do the homework, and pay attention in class youll pass easily.
In American Government, he will assign you to read The Economist and discuss it in class. It's not that hard, and he will help you understand the big topics clearly. Online textbook, Quiz, and Test (very easy) Tons of experience abroad and shows you different world views.
I took American Government with St. Clair. It was easy test are online and there is 1 group project. Article readings once a week, the articles are fairly short and he gives you a chance to answer the questions he is asking. Very dry sense of humor, but that is what makes him funny and he enjoys laughing in the class. Easily would take him again!
Hes a good professor, the class isnt really hard as long as you put effort into. There is a lot of awkwardness when no one knows the answer and hes not a professor to give you the answer right away he will ask other questions to get you to answer the first one.
He was disrespectful didn't know how to teach will argue with anyone about anything so you won't get anything done study guides never helped with tests he paid attention to like 3 students our first test no one passed
These ratings are funny. I have taken 2 classes with Prof. St. Clair and he is great. Most of the students dont pay attention, dont do the readings, or participate in the discussion and then complain about the professor. Read the chapters and show up to class and you will learn a lot.
St. Claire is rude but its pretty frickin funny when it's not aimed at you. He does make you get a subscription to the Economist, make sure you do those readings, he will grill you on those, but I never used the textbook in his class. Solid Bill Clinton style democrat, not a socialist but def not Conservative. Don't take his course if u won't talk
I took PS110 (American Gov) during COVID in person. He is very knowledgeable about this course & is very good at engaging students. Sometimes can get off topic during lectures about current events, but always responds to student's questions well. Only 4 tests total & 1-2 chapter readings every week. You need to study hard for tests & pay attention
Very great at keeping lectures interesting, learned a lot of the basics. Test every Monday on Cengage, gives okay study guides. Pay attention and take notes in class, like take notes other than the notes on the board. Very thorough, he's somewhat passive aggressive. Very understanding if you email him about absences before hand.
Mr. Keith often showed up late to class.. he argued with everyone was nasty and got off topic a lot. there was a immigrant from another country and I think the kid wasn't quite sure about the point he was making but Keith treated him in such a disrespectful manner that if it was me i would of walked out of class. the dude is tired and burned out.
He is not it yall, argues with everyone. Kind of a jerk. Not cool. Class is easy tho.
I took Prof St. Clair for American Gov in person. If it wasnt in-person, I sure would have a worse grade because its all lectures every day. You are graded on easy quizzes online, and 4 tests so if you dont study you will fail. Only study his lecture notes for tests, because the book is only for the quizzes. His lectures were engaging.
Professor St. Clair may come off as daunting at first, but if you know what you're talking about and can support it with facts, then you'll be fine. Very limited homework, just articles from The Economist. The tests on each country are very easy as well! Do the readings/homework and take notes and you'll be fine.
The good: gives awesome in person lectures. He will teach you the information. He gives a clear outline for tests. Tests are based solely on his lectures, so don't miss class. The bad: very narrow grading window. The whole class grade is 4 major tests and a weekly online quiz. He gives no redoes for any reason at all. So don't mess up ever.
Very rude to students, misogynistic, and biased against other opinions. His American politics course involved lectures that are extremely off-topic and not always on the test. You have to read the textbook in your own time to know what's going on. If you miss a test, there are no retakes. Mandatory attendance and no leniency.
He isn't a good professor. His tests are extremely hard and the tests are based on lectures only. He makes students feel dumb if they don't know the answer to a question. He brings up his divorce a lot and gives creepy vibes. He isn't understanding and will never respect you.
Don't miss class as his tests are purely on his lectures. Very tough grader, grade consists of tests and quizzes, no extra credit or redo's on anything. Write everything down! He may seem condescending at first but he isn't such a bad person or professor, just tough and wants you to pay attention/learn.
Professor St Clair gives awesome in person lectures. He gives a clear study guide for tests. Tests are based solely on his lectures, so don't miss class. The whole class grade is 4 major tests and a weekly online quiz.
Attend class and take detailed notes - the tests are solely based on lectures. Challenging but engaging professor, so stay focused. Unstuck AI proved helpful for test prep.
Take good notes, you are expected to type notes as he speaks and also record the notes he displays. Also, we didn't cover everything we were tested on.
The teacher loves to go on political rants and bash the political right. he also loves to insult ideas he disagrees with and can be quite rude to students. If you want a non biased teacher don't take him.
St. Clair is very outgoing/ entertaining. He is strongly opinionated and engages in intense debates with students. He is very strict about due dates with no exceptions. He is democratic, yet shows examples of microaggressions. He refers to black people as "blacks," and he implies that the Chris Rock and Will Smith fight happened because of race.
The guy has a bad attitude that's all
Discussed readings and he harasses, not afraid to put a student on the spot and bother them to get an answer. Students will not know answer but will continue to intimidate the student. He views these students as not reading articles but in reality they may not have the reading skills to understand. His teaching methods can create a timid students.
Very passionate about the American Government and knowledgeable on current political issues. I assume that many of my peers hesitated to speak up because if you made a claim or gave an opinion on something, Mr. St Clair made sure you were able to substantiate that with either evidence or reasoning. Book is solely for quiz, lecture for tests.
st clair a very chill person. likes to debate students and gives out not that many assignments. he usually ends class early. he may not assign a lot of work but they are a huge portion of your grade
He is a good teacher but he is very test heavy.
