OMG she was SUCH a great teacher... a lot of work but not stupid busy work. will really prepare you for ENC 1102 just dont take laskowski. kellen has a great sense of humor and is very patient. i would LOVE to have taken her for ENC 1102. :-)

I love Ms. Kellen! She is halarious!! She does give a lot of work and you do have to keep up, but if you need help she'll go out of her way to make sure you get it. She makes her class so much fun. It's not just a boring lecture day after day. She keeps it real!

Mrs. Kellen is a friendly woman who is passionate about teaching and writing. Funny and detailed, she will not hesitate to stop class to answer any questions. My advice is to stay true to lab handouts and use WebCT to prepare for tests. Although creativity in writing is great in her eyes, her focus is truly the fundamentals and basics.

I have always disliked English, but I really enjoyed this class. Mrs. Kellen is a wonderful teacher. Her assignments are reasonable, there is a research paper but if you follow step by step it isn't a big deal. She is extremely helpful. I would recommend her to everybody, and if I have a chance I would take her again for a different class.

I had her online English 1 class. I think she's a great professor and is willing to help you as much as possible. I'm a little disappointed with my grade because I felt I did a substantial job on quizzes, tests, and assignments but...life goes on I guess. Mrs Kellen is the bestest. If you have a question, it gets answered that same day (depending on what time you ask). She grades fair, if your paper deserves an A or an F, that's what you shall get. She will help you however she can. If you want a professor that enjoys her work and doesn't mind using 'sentence enhancers' then she's a great pick.

I loved her! She's a fantastic teacher. I took this class online and she was so helpful all the time. The quizzes are easy and the timed writings are very doable. She helped me gain so much confidence in my writing. Take this class, you won't regret it at all. while the online one requires a good amount of work it's totally worth it!

Ms Kellen was a good teacher if you like English. If you aren't a fan then you shouldn't take her class, she'll find out that you don't appreciate her passion for a boring class and fail you!

Great class, easy to understand and fun

I have never enjoyed writing, and was dreading taking this class. This ended up being my favorite class of the semester. She is a great teacher, the deadlines are reasonable, and the grading is acceptable. I would recommend taking her class.

Very good teacher. Highly recommend. I had no confidence in my writing or grammar skills and she really helped me to excel. She walks you through everything and answers questions quickly. Her elluminate sessions were very helpful. She really wants her students to succeed but she does not coddle her students.

She is an amazing teacher! If you don't enjoy writing/English, you will love it after having her as a teacher. she is extremely funny, she should be on Americas funniest moms, and is a big help. if you do your work, study, and pay attention in class, you'll be fine and pay with an A. The BEST instructor I have EVER had in my life! Even online, Ms. K was very involved and didn't leave you out to figure it on your own. Full-time student..no issue with work load. Always there..supportive...encouraging...feedback. SCC instructors can learn a lot from her-especially online resources....so beneficial!

Ms. K is by far the best! I took her class online and she was more helpful than many teachers that have a live class. Her course was easy...as long as you did what you were asked to do. She is sweet and did everything she could to stay involved and make sure you understood her assignment. I highly recommend her...even online!!

I just finished taking an online class and I have to say that she is a great teacher. She is extremely helpful and makes herself completely available to her students. She also provided quick turnarounds with grades. She does expect you to follow directions so if you don't, expect it to be reflected in your grade. Extremely fair.

Ms.K is truly an excellent teacher. Hilarious lectures. Provides tons of information and willing to assist and take time with her students individually. She is a person that is described as "take it or leave it" kind of person. You like her or you don't. Her class is pretty easy if you want a good grade!

Ms. K is the BEST teacher I can ever remember having. Took her class online and she is 150% there with you, every single question answered although she literally has EVERYTHING ready! Minimal reading, assignments and tests are a breeze, but you have to keep up. A lot of work but it's SO EASY! Extremely fair grading and very helpful! A+ for Ms. K!

They've got it right...Ms. K is the best! I wish she taught English II. She's very helpful, and quick to respond to emails. She was definitely born to teach. She's one of those teachers that really helps you do your best, whatever that is. Book her classes asap, they fill up fast! You won't regret it!

A LOT OF WORK!!!! Took her class online and this class requires a lot of work. The quizes are easy but there are a lot of them. Dont take this class with a full schedule!

She id very clear and organized with what she wants. Gives you a couple of chances to take her quizzes so you can get 100% each time. Really important to have proper grammar to get an A. I don't like english and just took it because I had to and I got a 95%! overall great teacher

Ms. K is the best...You do have to work hard and allot enough time to write the essays and research paper, but you couldn't ask for anyone better to lead the way. Take her class online and sign up early...ASAP, I got the last spot in the class this past semester summer term. It'll help improve your writing and your GPA if you are fortuitous.

I was not enthused at all by this teacher. She has a dull sense of humor, and requires way too many essays. She will let you revise them, but overall I would not recommend her at all!

Really enjoyed the class and learned a lot. I felt challenged in a good way. Ms. Kellen is very organized and lets u know what she expects. Seems overwhelming at first but do-able. Just stay on top of it. Papers due throughout and research in the end but gives plenty of opportunity to do well.

Great teacher. Online class was easy. Had 3 "major" papers to write, peer reviews, 3 timed writings and various small assignments. If you read the textbooks and follow her directions you will have no problem. I skimmed the books and was fine.

As long as you follow her instrunctions Ms. K was amazing! she answered any questions I had and helped me a lot. 3 Major papers were due the whole summer and a few assignments. Great participation online and gave 3 online instrunction live for the hard assignments. She explained everything very well and made all assignments easy!

I took this class online and it was very time consuming but, she's a helpful teacher. The last four weeks were very intense. Have to have your A game on when you take this class online.

Ms. Kellen is the sweetest teacher! I was nervous about English because even she said about half pass the first time. She walks you through what she expects from you and is very helpful and involved. My husband took a class from another teacher and said it was awful, but Ms. K is the opposite of that. Definitely recommend!!

Professor Kellen is great! I was terrified coming into this class, but passed with an A. She makes all expectations very clear, and walks you through everything. She's super nice and helpful and answers emails right away. If you do something wrong she lets you fix it rather than giving you a bad grade. And the work load lightens halfway through.

Awesome instructor. Really knows her stuff. Basically, all the online tests are extra credit because most of them you can take up to three times until you get 100%. She answers questions via email and forums quickly, even on weekends. Went in a little nervous, left much more confident. Looking forward to taking English II with her.

Professor Kellen, was hard yet fair. School has required assignments, and Professor Kellen gave rewrites on all except the one that had to be turned into the English department. Every assignment has clear due date.

She was very helpful and always replied to emails within a few hours (except in the middle of the night of course!) I could tell she was making a great effort to make sure each student did as well as possible.

If you are not good in English you need to take her! Responds back quick. You do have to work in order to get a good grade. She's very passionate about English... when you leave her class you will be prepared for ENC1102. Quizzes and group discussions help boost your grade. Make sure to do all your asssignments.

Dr Kellen shows great care in making sure her students succeed. She provides clear and concise feedback on assignments and she is readily available to answer any question you have. Turn in the assignments on time, participate in group discussions, and apply her recommendations before submitting your final work and you should ace this class.

Dr. Kellen is an amazing teacher who cares about her student's success. She is an excellent online instructor who lists clear and direct grading criteria. Pay close attention to the grading rubric before submitting your work. I really enjoyed the optional class zoom meetings before certain assignments, it was really nice to put faces to names.

Professor Kellen was a great Professor. She was so much fun and I also took her for ENC 1102 as well. I took ENC 1102 remotely and Her zoom meeting is the reason I got out of bed on Monday Mornings. Professor Kellen always responded to e-mails quickly, within a few hours. She was also very helpful and patient when I asked questions.

The class does require effort and participation but Dr. Kellen is incredibly accomodating and is willing to help where she can, just pay attention and reach out.

Such an amazing teacher. I had her for A session and because of how organized her canvas is, the 6 weeks flew by. The only comment I have is make sure to read all the instructions carefully because she's not forgiving in terms of redoing assignments or making them up. Overall, the grade you get depends on how much work you're willing to put in.
