A great professor... would totally recommend to anyone! Very responsive to emails and will work with any student no matter what level of Spanish they are at. The activities in class are engaging and are very helpful in learning the material and practicing putting it to use.

Great teacher, awesome with the students and clearly awesome with the language. Down to earth and understanding, does a great job connecting with students. Awesome sense of humor, fantastic personality. She speaks both languages beautifully, and understand the language beyond the classroom.

Super sweet person and teacher. She is a graduate student at Alabama, so she is very easy to talk to and often feels our pain with classes. She is really easy to work with in class and outside of it. She makes learning Spanish easier and more fun. I would totally recommend taking again. Also you get a drop quiz and project. :)

Professor Yarber was very helpful and made learning Spanish easy and fun. Her lectures were easy to understand and she was always willing to answer any questions you may have. Very good choice!

Very easy class, if you simply show and do the stuff you will easily receive an A, I gave minimal effort but always came to class and didn't use more than the 12 drop grades you get and passed the class with flying colors

Professor Luna is a really caring teacher who is super helpful and instructive. I don't really like Spanish but she made the classes fun and informative. If you have any questions or don't understand a certain concept she's really nice and willing and to help if you just put in the effort. Would definitely recommend!!

The class is fun! You cant skip class because you have to fill out a form of participation and you HAVE to participate. The tests arent that hard as long as you know the vocab and can differentiate and speak simply. I would definitely recommend Señora Luna. You wont regret it, she really knows her stuff!

Mrs. Luna is a fantastic teacher! She really cares about her students. She's not a hard grader, she just wants to help you actually learn the language. She always does activities in class which not only keep your attention, but also REALLY help you learn the subject (for me, anyway). VHL sucks, but she tries to help you out with it.

She is honestly one of my favorite professors that I have ever had. She genuinely cares about the well-being of her students. Professor Yarber continued to go out of her way throughout the semester to make sure she helped everyone that she could. She's also very entertaining and makes class very enjoyable. P.S. VHL sucks but that's not on her.

I had to drop my 103 class because it was too hard and the teacher was ridiculous, so it was very nice to have a teacher that really cared about my grades and my success in not only this class, but all classes I'm taking. She is fantastic with feedback and is very approachable with questions. Take Kelley!!!

Participation matters a lot, but she doesn't care if you say things slightly wrong, just that you give your input! She also lets you have 6 dropped participation grades in case you can't make it to class.

Great professor would take a class with her again. When she first walked in i thought she was one of the students. Fair grader but got harder on us about the use of online translators later in the year. Just do what you know how to do and youll be fine. Online homework was atrocious tho.

An amazing instructor who really genuinely cares about her students. I had this class first thing in the morning and I looked forward to going to class every day. The theme for my section was Spanish music, and the class was extremely interesting and fun. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Would take the same class over again in a heartbeat.

Kelley is dedicated both to making sure you learn Spanish and to giving you every chance to succeed. She is unfortunately the victim of a poorly ran department whose homework system can screw you, but does everything she can to make it fair. Shes also really funny and a total dork, which makes class very fun. Definitely take her!!!!

Prof Luna is amazing! Wish I could take her for every class. Attendance is mandatory but you get to miss 3 classes and still get extra credit added to your final grade at the end. No tests or quizzes, homework is super easy, only 2 debates and a final portfolio. The class is all about music, so it is actually interesting! TAKE HER!

I love her and this class. I took conversation and we focused on Spanish music. It was really fun and easy. We usually had homework twice a week but they were short/easy. There were no tests and the final was a project that we slowly worked on the entire semester. Participation and attendance make up a lot of your grade but the class is fun!

Best Spanish class I've ever taken at this university. Kelley is super funny, caring, and relatable. She is a relaxed but fair grader and doesn't ask for much. Her class is about music, which is interesting and makes you want to speak. This class improved my Spanish immensely and I wish I could take her for every class!

Kelley Luna is not only my favorite professor ever, but maybe my favorite human. She's so sweet and caring, she gives you so much confidence to speak, and she's inspired me to switch from a Spanish minor to a major. In SP353 she grades more on effort and less on accuracy. It's perfect for your first conversation class. Just show up and speak.

Kelley Luna is the best! Such a funny, knowledgeable, and helpful individual. She makes class very interesting and fun and makes you actually want to participate in discussions. There is a decent amount of homework and a couple of presentations, but they are not stressful by any means. I highly recommend her class.

Kelley is hands down the best professor I've ever had. I hadnt taken spanish since my freshman year of high school, and she was very understanding. She is a phenomenal teacher, and does her best to help you learn the language. The online homework sight was awful, but she accepted all complaints and did her best to help you with any/every thing.

Senora Luna is very understanding and lenient grader. It's okay if you suck at Spanish. As long as she sees you putting in the effort, you'll get a good grade. Participation matters and VHL isn't too hard. For people that had trouble understanding Spanish, she would also repeat some of it in English.

My favorite professor at UA. So funny and warm and kept class as interesting as possible. This course is conversational Spanish, so she made out theme for the whole semester to be music in Latin America. Couldnt recommend more!

Prof Luna's class was my favorite of the semester! The class is set up so you have the chance to talk a lot in Spanish and even though this class wasn't about grammar, I did end up learning a lot just by talking more in class! Cares a lot about her students and wants to see you succeed. 10/10 one of my favorite classes at UA.

Luna is truly the BEST Spanish instructor you will have. She's so kind, passionate, and knowledgeable. Above all, she's super fair. She makes you work for and earn your grade but will reward you for your work. She offers enough extra credit to boost your grade without making it an easy A. Love her so much!!

Luna is one of my favorite professors I've had at UA. She is super nice and caring, and always makes sure you are learning and doing well in her class. She grades easy and the tests aren't hard (i got a 100 on every test). She mentioned that for upper level courses, they are even easier since she has more control over the syllabus.

One of the best instructors Ive seen at this university in general. Taken during the covid-online class fiasco and she worked hard to make class very engaging with Spanish games just like youd have in a normal in-person classroom. The instructors in the Spanish program are almost all fantastic from what Ive seen, but she is exceptional.

Literally the best Spanish teacher at UA! She is always accessible outside of class and is the most outgoing and personable teacher I have ever had. She does want everyone to participate every class and is so understanding when students may not know or mess up a sentence in Spanish. The classes are so fun and she is just the best person! LOVE HER!

Im so grateful for her gentle grading because I didnt deserve it. I learned absolutely nothing in this class. The online Spanish program at UA is dismal at best. There is absolutely no instruction involved, so I dont feel that I can even comment on this professors teaching style. I gained nothing but frustration and tears from this course.

Super interesting class, you learn conversational Spanish through music and projects you do on music so there's no textbook and not a ton of homework. Professor Luna is very relatable and funny and still understands what it's like to be in college so she's pretty sympathetic to most things. Her class is a very stress free learning environment.

Attendance is mandatory, but participation as well.I looked forward to going to class and tried not to miss because of the conversations we had in class you are able to apply to real life. She's the best, everyone loves her, TAKE HER FOR 353. You work on the final throughout the semester and you have opportunities to get feedback before you turn it in. She cares about her students and is always willing to help you out - attendence/participation is mandatory (with 3 allowed absences) but I always enjoyed going to class with her!

SP 356 is not an easy class but Professor Luna made it easy to understand. Her class projects were very fun to do and she although she was tough on homework, it helped you prepare well for the exam. She is very understanding and helpful in office hours. I highly recommend her for any class!

This teacher and class were the best parts of my semester. Yes, you have to go to every class but going to class is so enjoyable! It was Spanish Conversations and the topic is music so basically the class is a way to get good song recommendations. She's super sweet and funny and makes great connections with her students! Love her! This is my second time taking her and wish I could again next semester! I had her for Spanish conversations and that has been my favorite Spanish class. I also have her for 356 now and she makes this class enjoyable. Participation matters you have to go to class and take notes for 356. But is very accessible to students and understanding.

I've had Profe Luna twice now and she really is awesome. Caring, approachable, and really explains things well. She also really cares about her job, which to me, as a student, is very admirable. If she is on the schedule for any class, 100% take her.

I have never loved a Spanish professor more! She cares so much about her students and how they do in her class. She is available almost every day for office hours and answers emails quickly. Her tests were difficult at first, but the option for test corrections helped me greatly! I couldn't recommend anyone more for SP 356!

Professor Luna was great at teaching a difficult subject. Spanish grammar is very meticulous, but she explained the topics very well. Make sure to attend class and take notes. Our section had quizzes every other day. As long as you study your notes you will do just fine.

Kelley Luna is actually so amazing. She cares so much about her students and is actually learning the material. We have to go through stuff pretty quickly in class but she answers questions so well and patiently. She also always available if you need more help on stuff!
