I suck @ math. I took this class like 3 times @ Mdc and failed. I had no other choice but to take it @ BCC. Then I met Ms Hammer and it was a blessing in the skies. She is very understanding and if you you do your homework, you will almost get a B or better.

One of the few math teachers that you can understand at BCC south. She teaches on a steady pace and with a clear voice. I didn't enjoy math but now I know you must study; thanks to her. Other than that, she always wears joyful outfits that seem to brighten your day. Yay for skirts, shall we?

Very nice, sweet person. She's attractive, but not as much as Prof. Boyers. Speaks clear and concise English (rare for South Campus), moves at a steady, manageable pace and (very important) doesn't clutter the board with lots of numbers before explaning formulas.

Professor Kelly is the best Intermediate Math Professor on both South and Pines Campus. She really looked out for me. I had my doubts for this class. I must say, being in Hammer's class was a worthwhile experience. I suck at math but her notes and MATHXL got me through the class. Lectures are easy and thorough. She gives notes for lessons. She also has a full review for every test. You get homework a few times a week. No labs are required for her class. I got an A

Math is my number one weakness in education but after taking Prof Kelli, it's like number 3 now. She provides you with thorough notes and goes over them with you STEP-BY-STEP. I took 3 of her classes when I was there. She was, still is, my number 1 professor of all time. Her classes were easy to understand, she would go step by step with you. She would teach new material before the test and would use it as extra credit in that test. All you have to do is pay attention. Wish every prof was like her.

She was a really good teacher. I really hate math and she made me hate it a little less. she does give a lot of Aleks but it helped a lot when finals came around. At the end of every class she gives class work. She does drop lowest grade of everything. Such as quiz, classwork and Aleks.

Best math teacher ever! She breaks down the classwork, is very lenient when it comes to tests. She'll give you scrap paper, and you turn that in when you're done. Later she'll go over it to see if you make little mistakes and give you the full credit for the problem. No way to fail her class. ALEKS is a big factor also, so stay on top of that.

I thought this professor would be overrated, she 100 percent isn't. I was nervous about taking a math class, since it I haven't in years. Great notes that are on My d2l. She is such a great teacher. Her practice test are almost the same as her real test. She mostly takes out the hard questions on test too. Her class fills up so fast.

Took her for a 8 week class. The lectures were very helpful BUT she goes in circles to explain certain things which make you end up more confused than before you asked. She gave out a bunch of extra credit but never to put it into my final grade which would have given me an A in the class. She's nice and caring. ALEKS is super time consuming btw.

She always answers all questions. Before the tests and quizzes, she makes sure everyone knows the material. Take her if you are bad at math, her classes will change that.

Ms. Hammer really knows how to break down the information in a way everyone can understand. She always ask if you have any questions and makes herself available to all students during her office hours. I highly recommend this teacher if you struggle with math. You will not only pass, you will retain the information and fully grasp the concepts.

I didn't know about Rate my Professor until halfway through the semester. I've never been too good at math, so I had very low expectations about what this class would be like. Professor Hammer cares about her students, really open to helping you grasp the material, and is just super whimsy/kind. She's really lenient with grading both tests and hw.

One of the best professor's I have ever had. Math used to scare me and make me nervous but she really made it an easy subject for me. I passed with an A in her class when I thought I would be lucky to get a C. One of the best. She is very understanding, fair, and explains everything so well and clearly.

Math is hard but her lectures are easy to understand. She gives practice test which are just like the actual test just numbers switched around. I always just wanted to hug her because of how sweet she is. You study, do the practice tests, pay attention, youre guaranteed to pass. Do all the homework because it helps. I can tell the subject is ambiguous, but she excels. She is patient, clear, Alex instructor, a must take. Not enough words to describe her gift for teaching.

But she only assigns homework that will be on the test, she literally removed questions/assignments that would not be on the tests to help us out. She was my FAVORITE professor I ever had. I took her last fall, and I realized I should give her a review. She is the most understanding, and genuinely kind teacher ever. When I didn't understand something and couldn't come to her office hours, she figured out how to help me, and she makes everything very easy to understand. I would take her again!

Professor Kelly was particularly kind and understanding when students had their own personal issues occurring which made her class more bearable. Each chapter had homework, a quiz, and a test which was consistent and made the class easy to become accustomed to. Though, I found that the lectures did not really help with the homework or tests.

She has great lectures and she's willing to answer questions and go in-depth into problems that you may struggle with. Her tests give opportunities for extra credit and don't contain content that she didn't have time to teach you properly. Overall a great professor and I would take her again.

I took statistics and got an "A", thinking it'd be the hardest math class I'd ever take. Boy was I wrong. This class is something else, and you will NEED to spend ~20 hours a week on this class if you want to pass. Class is mostly all through ALEKS. Professor is accessible through office hours and is a great resource. Should've taken her in person.

She is a fantastic professor very caring and wants you to succeed. The course is not so difficult but it is mostly you teaching yourself the material. Uses ALEKS and all quizzes and tests are proctored. Quizzes are 4-5 questions with examples so they aren't so hard. Definitely would take her again!

TAKE HER CLASS! you won't regret it. She made her lectures so easy to follow that you can't go wrong. If you have any questions she will answer and will go at your pace. There are 4 test with "allowed notes" that have important formulas that you don't need to memorize. Homework was done online and you can do it as many times until you get 100%.

I took her math class over a 6 week summer semester so it was kind of an intense class.She is super helpful though and really makes sure people understand the material so you can pass the tests.This was a blended class so some learning we had to do on our own at home,she always responded to email questions. I highly recommend her!!

10/10 recommend taking her if you struggle with math. She breaks everything down and answers any questions students have. There's 4 exams, a final, hw all online, and no pop quizzes! As long as you study what's taught you'll get the A. She grades extremely fair, it's super easy to pass her class with how understanding she is. No textbook needed.

Make sure you complete all your online assignments because it will really help in the end with your final grade. Professor Hammer is amazing! Took her for a session 2 class and it was extremely manageable because of her. She is so sweet and helpful and wants to see all of her students succeed. Make sure to do the homework's because it really helps you in the long run for the tests. There were 4 tests including the final!

Prof Hammer is amazing! She is clear with her expectations and posts all notes from class on D2L. For tests, she allows a 1 page cheat sheet that you can add anything to, and for the final she allowed a front and back sheet. She's extremely nice and isn't harsh with grades either. She'll give all tests / quizzes back for you to keep for review.

Professor Hammer is the best math teacher I've ever took, She's kind, she works with you when you don't understand something, she's always available when you need extra help. If you want to understand Trig i suggest you take her. Class is easy and homework is on My math lab and theres only 3 exams and one finial.

we used Aleks and it was very easy to follow. the final was fairly easy and it was multiple choice.

Great professor, super kind and cares about her students. She doesn't use textbooks, but she uses the handbook for the class. Lectures are always informational and if you need help don't hesitate to ask her. her final was worth a lot compared to the rest of her assignments, but it isn't anything outlandish.

PROFESSOR HAMMER WAS LITERALLY THE BEST! She always gives great lectures with plenty of examples and practice problems to work on both with groups and individually. She is very helpful during office hours. I would always stay after class to go over different hw questions. MAC1147 is not an easy subject but she was the best at teaching it!

Professor Hammer is wonderful. She cares about every student and is willing to explain anything as in-depth as any student needs. She will lecture the whole 2.5 hours, so bring breakfast if it's an early class. She is lovely to work with and I would taker her for every class if I could. There are study guides for the 3 proctored tests and the final exam which I believe single handedly was the key to me passing this course. As long as you try and follow guidelines during the proctored tests she'll go back and offer you partial credit on problems you got wrong. She also offers several extra credit opportunities.
