She is a wonderful person, but is a difficult teacher. I learned more from her class than any other english class. However, I pulled a lot of all nighters. She is demanding, but a good teacher and always willing to help. If you want an easy "A" without a lot of homework, do not take this class. It is challenging, but worth it.
Kel is cool, but she makes you do a ton of revisions on your papers. The class is easy as long as you show up and can put in a bit of homework time. Peer review is a big part of the class, easy but time consuming.
She was one of the hardest teachers i have encounter. If you like to have alot of writing homework every night take this class. On the first day of class, when she tell you to expect 3 to 4 hrs of homework every night she is not kidding. She is helpful but strict. If like a challenge when it comes to English then this is class for you
I had Kellie for an Intro to Lit class and I must say I was rather disappointed. I learned very, very little about literature. We read it and wrote about it but I didn't get anything out of it.
Kellie has a tendency to make mistakes on her calenders, so you'll want to ask if you have questions on it and listen to her carefully for instructions as they often change. I think she could go into more detail about things but I understand that she's concentrating on the 101 portion. 201 papers are at least six pages and she wastes paper.

I was magically transported back to remedial english for 6th graders. Many of my classmates were a depressing mixture of baffled and bored at what she wanted us to accomplish.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS EPIC TIME WASTE OF A CLASS! save your green $$$...its kinda like flushing ur money down the drain... 2 thumbs DOWN!
PLEASE do not take her class! First day of class she claims no busy work, she's a hippie who saves paper, and no stupid questions. ALL WRONG. Anyone who asks a question will be verbally beaten about how dumb they are. She didn't even know the class was hybrid, we had to tell her on the first day! She sucks. Take my word for it.
Don't not take this class! I made the mistake of taking a 2 and 1/2 hour class with her and i was tearing my eyes out all class. She's very boring and thinks she's funny (she's not one bit)very unclear about homework and what she wants done. It's her way or it's wrong when it comes to writing. All the essays were about the same issue. Worst class!

I took Kellie for english 101 and 102 as well as a lit class. I am writing this to say the people below me must not have listened. She is a good teacher but will NOT baby you like in high school. She assigns hard work and explains thing throughly. If you don't understand something she is always willing to meet with you outside of class. Good teache
Kellie is okay as a person but as an english teacher shes not that great says she saves paper yea right students end up wasting all their money on the paper because we have to make 3 copies of 6 page papers and dont use them VERY TIME consuming class i advise not to take english with this teacher. She hard to understand!!!!
Unclear in her assignments. She says she's told students things when she hasn't. She at times tells other students one thing while others are told another when it comes to the essays. Sometimes students are told that they are "Way off track" too late in the writing process. i.e. the day before the final is due. A good person, but unorganized.
I've never seen a teacher who claimed that the instructions were clear even without giving any in the first place. I must have gone back ten or twenty times to ask for clarification. Needless to say, I walked away even more confused than ever. This class dropped my GPA simply because she is useless.
She is VERY unclear, not AT ALL what she claims to be (funny, hippie who saves trees) and she is horrible with instructions. When 90% of the class doesn't do the assignments you obviously have a problem. She assigns nothing but busy work (which she claims not to) I would stay FAR AWAY! DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS
She is not exactly clear on her assignments, and sometimes forgets to tell you when the papers are due and what she wants done. She claims to be a tree hugger and wants you to use as little paper as possible, yet she makes you print out like three copies of your essay for no apparent reason. If you can avoid this teacher AT ALL COSTS!!!
Very disorganized but a great person. You can crack jokes at her that she'll never get.
Waste of time, has no clue on what she is talking about. She needs to retire the day before yesterday. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Kellie is an okay professor. Pro: She is helpful and willing to do it if you ask her, she wants us to succeed, and she brings us treat. Con: She is unorganized at times, and she is very strict about the deadlines, so we can pass the class. I would take Kellie again in the summer.
I love Kellie, she has been my favorite instructor so far! I loved her teaching style, she was wonderful. The class was challanging but in a good way. I would take another class with her if I got the chance. She is always willing to help or meet outside of class.
Honestly, she is extremely clear and she explains all of the assignments, writes them on the board, and posts them all online. People who say she doesn't explain things are just sore because she makes you actually do something for a grade. You get out what you put in, if you try, you WILL learn something. Great class!
Kellie is very intelligent and knows her literature. She is a great teacher and expects students to keep up. She is willing to help anyone who needs help. Her personality is a bit high-strung and if your brain isn't geared that way, it may be a bit difficult to follow. However, she communicates via verbal, writing on the board, handouts, & ANGEL.
I do not recommend this "entree level" class to anyone who has a job and or a full time student. She is very unorganized, she is consistantly revolving her schedual around her life and has no consideration for the students outside life. She does not hold the same expectations as she does for her students. She is very deflective and unsupportive.
I love Kellie! She is a wonderful teacher and did everything in her power to help me improve my skills. She has the ability to inspire you to do your best work, and she rewards your efforts with generous grades...that or I worked really hard :)
I was a non-traditional student. I had not been in high school in 25 yrs. Kellie replied to every email I sent her within five or six hours. She gave me office time as needed. She took time to "hold my hand" on an essay that got me way behind. One thing. Do not take this class for an easy A. You will work your behind off and earn what you get.
she often justifies her mistakes. she can be very rude. she tends to single out a small few students. she often cant get our class scheule straight. she was aweful towards me and often put me down. especially if you are one of those people who justs sits and takes (DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!)
Very very VERY awesome instructor! She does a lot of group work and is ALWAYS available to students! She let's you redo your essays if you don't like your grade so you're never stuck with a crappy grade. She is the best instructor EVER and she always has a positive attitude toward students.
Kellie was a fabulous teacher. Despite her very busy schedule, she is always willing to set up time to help students outside of class. Do not expect and easy A; you will EARN whatever grade you get. ALWAYS check Angel for assignments. She tells classes this, but there are always some who forget to check.
She is all over the place, completely unorganized and her class is completely awful. She does not explain anything and then expects her students to understand. People never do anything because the calender is useless and she is 100% unclear. She lets her personal life in with school and we get nowhere. Her class has made me completely hate English.

Not an English class, is an Environmental class. Fischer is all over the place and frazzled, never grades work, and is ‘sick’ very often. Unclear directions on all assignments. Only write 4 essays 3 of 4 about pro-environment and final project is an environmental commercial.Will dislike you if you do not have the same views as her. Worse class ever
She was always getting off subject with some irrelevant story. The time she was supposed to be teaching and explaining assignments, time I PAID FOR, she spent babbling! Then at the end of the class she would cram all the information into ten minutes and expect us to do fine. When I asked questions she was rude. I learned nothing from this class.
She was all over the place doesnt know how to run a classroom. Too much stuff on her personal level to be teaching. Don't take her, she also makes you late for your next class most of the time.
Kellie is one of my favorite teachers ever. She is very understanding as willing to help. You must work for your grade. As long as you do the required work you will pass the class.
She is all over the place and wastes time babbling about nonsense. She is not very helpful, and she speaks very condescendingly to students. If you do not have the same views or writing style as hers, she will make you change it. I would not recommend her to anyone.
Is very confusing, not clear. Talks rudely to those who seek clarity. Will help if you beg for it and she likes you. Tough grader but mostly fair, you get what you work for. But she does a terrible job explaining things to the class.

Kellie is very rude and by far my least favorite teacher here at the Falls. She makes a big deal out of nothing, and even freaked out the first day of the quarter. She always will give you drafts back for editing after you already turned in for grading. I would never take another class with her, and wouldn't wish this class on my worst enemies.....
Just pay attention to her calendar and you will do fine. Don't miss class. She is always available if you need help. Expect to do double the amount of work compared to other English 102 instructors.
She was never prepared for class, and whenever we had an assignment she was never clear about it. She was very rude and inconsiderate. Kellie was "sick" very often and she was always behind on grading. Expected you do have all your work done on time but she never had anything done on time.
Absolutely terrible teacher. She's all over the place and expects you to write essays her way. Very opinionated and rude. She calls people out if they're doing bad and makes jokes about them. Expect TONS of homework. We had to write essays every single night... no fun at all.
Kellie Fischer as an Instructor is decent. She knows her trade and teaches people well, yet she lacks organization in this area. She has a very clear and concise homework plan, yet she can be very scatter brained and teach you something that would've been nice to know at the beginning of the essay. Overall, she is an alright instructor.
I barely passed this course. I was in a class with many failures. The online experiment she tried really didn't work that well. Peer feedback on essays is where I lost some points. Make sure you have all the copies of the essays she wants also. If you're looking for a simpler experience, don't take her class. She makes you really analyze EVERYTHING
Didn't care if you miss class, makes you discuss the reading with fellow students and is not happy if you do not have the correct text book. Not helpful on papers both verbally and written comments
Grades very harshly, very nitpicky about papers, how they are uploaded, etc. Very unorganized Not clear about due dates. Gives no grace, gives a lot of busy work. She is not exaggerating when she says 4 hours of homework every night. Although she seems to be a funny, outgoing person outside of class, she is a difficult professor to have.
She is extremely disorganized and expects you to understand whats going on, even when she does not explain it OR specify the assignments on the calendar. Very opinionated and rude, and often calls students out in front of the class. Her homework load is absolutely ridiculous and consists of unreasonable due dates. Also way too nit-picky.
Hardest prof I have had. She is too picky with what she wants from you and can be rude if you do not do it the exact way she wants. A lot of homework, a lot of essays, fast pace. I would not take this professor again.
Avoid this class at all lengths. She is disorganized, and rude. I never missed a deadline (because in this class you must have the online calendar basically memorized) and still did not do great. I made meeting with her too I could get extra help, but they never helped.

I believe that Kellie Fischer is absolutely crazy. She's psychotic, she rambles her fat mouth all the time and she makes up ALOT of excuses. She doesn't do her job she says we can come in and get help but she doesn't help at all she continues to ramble off over irrelevant things. When you try ask for help she forces you to go back to the assignment
I think it must be difficult to ask young people to be accountable and communicate if they are simply not paying attention, or working. Kellie Fischer was one of the most thorough and kind professors I had. I liked her so much, I took both 101 and 102 from het with great success. If you try, you will pass. I admire her caring nature alot.
Very writing intensive class, but completely worth it to my overall education! I'm a better writer because of Kellie and looking back I'm glad I didn't switch to an easier teacher. Gives you chances to improve your grade by improving your writing. Tough about technology during lectures. Respect is essential! P.S. She brings candy to class ALOT!
I have her in my second quarter she's good in what she does but with my disabilities i have difficult time understanding somethings and when i want to write about something she says its " TOO Broad" and she very opinionated and its little frustrating when she has to put in her two cents about her own political opinion I'm here to learn to write.
Biggest stickler as far as what she wants. Always has to be her way. The class is not fun at all. Way to many essays, all you do is write essays. She will give feedback on essays then you fix it and it still doesnt pass in portfolio. Never take this class I promise you you will regret it. There are way better profs to take English from.
She was insane. She made us right essay after essay and she graded tough as heck. If you even talk to anyone while she is talking, get ready to be called out. Her feedback on essays werent helpful. She has a huge amount of work for essays including 50 things you need to turn in along with the essays. A lot of work and busy work. Wouldnt recommend
I had mixed feelings about this teacher. Although , this class was difficult to understand what was due, and how to do it and when, I do think part of it was because it was a hybrid class and her first time teaching it. She was very accessible if I had questions. If you have time and are willing to work hard, this class could be recommended.
This was the most intense college class I have taken. Kellie's class is for a select few people who thrive under the immense pressure that comes with it. There is a huge work load, and if you do not stay on top of it you will drown. If you like to be challenged and are very good at following directions, this class is for you. If not, steer clear!
Probably the toughest grader I have ever experienced. She gave us a group project for our last essay and she picked our partners. One person in my group decided to not post anything in our discussion on canvas so Kellie gave us all a 0. She also told my friend she should go to the disability room to get help because she's not good at English.
She is a nice person but she has so much busy work. She claims its not but I dont see the importance of printing and annotating EVERYTHING you read.
As a teacher, she is average. As a normal person though, she is a nice person. Get ready to do a lot of printing, reading, annotating, etc in her class though. There is lots of homework in her class, and if you don't stay on top of it all, everything will basically just go downhill from there. She claims that she is "sick" from time to time.

Sometimes when Im driving to school I unbuckle my seat belt in hopes of getting in a car crash, so then I dont have to attend such a frustrating class. But in all seriousness..... IF YOUR ENROLLED IN THIS CLASS, GET OUT! Be prepared for loads of busy work and a TON of annotating. Ive never experienced such harsh grading!
This class makes me want to drop out. There are constant assignments without even a day of break. Multiple assignments will be due on the same day or one will begin the same day one ends. Don't expect a grade for 2+ weeks. When she does grade her feedback comes off as passive aggressive and completely crushes any confidence you had in your writing.
Kellie seemed cool the first few days of cool but after the first week though she became extremely tough and began assigning paper after paper. She's by far the toughest grader I have ever experienced. If it's not done to her standard it will be docked points. She usually brings up her politics in class, which in my opinion do not belong in English
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. For some ODD reason, I thought she had good ratings so I signed up for her class. but the ratings on here make sense. Expect at least 2 hours of hw m-f and on weekends sometimes too. Sometimes she doesnt post assignments until almost 2 pm when they are due at 12am.I promise you will be much happier w/a different instructor
Kellie Fischer is a truly horrible teacher and I highly recommend you choose someone else. She tries to make herself seem nice by sending smiley face emojis all the time. The only plus is that she responds via text very quickly; however, I swear she tries her hardest to make you feel dumb in her replies.
I wish I chose a better instructor. This instructor is so all over the place and she constantly have excuses for not posting assignments on time and she expects you to be on time. She's rude and she wants everything her way. She'll makes you annotate every single thing! Avoid choosing her as an instructor. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR MONEY!
This was a very disappointing English class. Kellie is extremely unorganized and makes mistakes in her instructions every time she assigns something. If you ask questions (which you will need to since everything is a confusing mess), be prepared for passive aggressiveness and needless comments. If you value your money, do not take this course.
I loved her, she is very personable and aproachable. She cares about her students and it shows. Her lectures are fun. I remember her calling this site "RapemyProf" bc she feels only unhappy students make reviews. I'm here to help her score because she deserves better. Her essay grading tends to lean heavily on grammar and sentence structure.
Do not take this class if you suffer from anxiety or are not prepared to be called out for every little thing. I have a disability and my phone accidentally went off in class on the first day by accident (on vibrate) and then she asked me what was so important and then demanded that I bring food for the class the next day because of the disruption.
I have been taking Kellie's ENG102 class this quarter and so far I have mostly positive things to say about it. I do think that Kellie at times can get off topic and be a little disorganized, but I think she handles those situations very well and is very fair when she makes a mistake. Kellie is helping me succeed in this class so just utilize her!
Such a nice prof! Cares about you, works with you to achieve. Only drawback is she is a slow grader, as in not giving feedback on first drafts until after your final draft is due. Group feedback means you do get feedback, though. Drawer of snacks in her office if you make the hike to the third floor, and extra credit summary+response of plays, etc.
Be prepared. There is lots of research papers to write. It is a very difficult class. I failed her class the first time, but I took her class again and passed. She was very encouraging even after I failed and does seem very caring and will work with you outside of class. She has snacks if you make it to her office.
Best English teacher I've ever had. Clear guidelines, and lots of examples. After this class I felt prepared for English 201.
This class is a perfect example of getting out what you put into it. As it is a pre requisite for many degrees, most students will treat it as a just a small hurdle to get into the field for which they are pursuing and as a result find that Mrs. Fischer's workload too much. It's by no means an easy class, but if you are proficient then youll be ok
Nice person, awful teacher. Always off topic, tells personal stories that are clearly not true, instructions never clear, & her example essays aren't helpful & full of things that she tells the class not to do in their essays. Don't count on the in class work/research days, she spends the whole time talking & you'll get 5-10 min at the end if lucky
She was amazing. I learned more in her English class than in any other English class I've taken combined. She gives out her phone number too which is great and is always willing to work with you. She's very funny and will talk about random things, but who doesn't love that sometimes. I would love to have her again! (English is my worst subject too)
She is a great teacher her writing plan template she teaches helps so much would definitely recommend taking her class.
She is a nice person, but she's a horrible teacher. She goes on about personal stories unrelated to what she's teaching; they are unbelievable. She talks herself in circles, and by the end of the class, you have no idea what you're supposed to be doing. She has no respect for her students and has yelled at students in class.
Kellie is THE best! I love her and her course. It may be overwhelming at first, but you pick it up quick and she's so helpful. Very understanding and caring. Gives her personal cell and is very available. Apply yourself and you'll do great. She doesn't believe in busy work; everything has a purpose. One textbook you'll use the rest of your career.

Kellie is a nice woman one-on-one, but other wise she is not a good teacher. She is extremely passive aggressive, and any other college student I've talked to about her and her teaching styles have said no other professor acts like that. As a first year college student taking ENG99, her class was not my favorite and I cant wait to leave her class.
