Awesome teacher! I was absolutely afraid of making it through this class alive and now i'm actually more confident when I speak in front of crowds now.

This site would not let me put two classes but I had SP 126 and 218 and Dr. Brennan was very helpful. They were both online classes and so I have never actually met him but he has always been very helpful and understanding of time crunches. Also, he is very supportive, and that means a lot. Thank you Dr. Brennan!!!

I took Dr. Brennan's Speech 111 online summer term,and like many was dreading this class. The text was very easy to read and understand. I was terrified about having to put my speeches on youtube and never thought I would be a good speaker yet Dr.Brennan always gave me very positive feedback and it was very encouraging. He was a great teacher!!

I was very nervous coming into this class. Dr Brennan made it very comfortable and wasn't too harsh when grading :-) I would definitely feel comfortable taking a speech class again if I had to. Thanks for a fun term!! (my first term in 8 years)

I loved Dr. Kelly's Public Speaking class. Especially the fact that he gave us points for dressing up when we gave our speech, this helped make up for the low scores on the tests that I recieved. The tests were simple and there was plenty of time to complete them. He made class interesting and less stressful. I would recomend his class to everyone.

I absolutely enjoyed taking this class due to the incredible ability this man has to reach and teach his pupils. It is very obvious he loves his job and chose the right career path.

I have a horrible fear of public speaking like most people do and I can honestly say that I probably wouldn't have made it through this course if I had taken it with another instructor. He was absolutely wonderful to listen to and he broke things down so that there really wasn't a whole lot to fear. He truly took an interest in you improving!

I loved this professor. Though I did not want to take this class and even though I am scared to death to give a speech, I have to say after taking this class with Dr. B. I LOVE giving speeches! Dr. B. helps his students to realize the a lot of public speaking is psychological and if you place your mind in the right place public speaking can be enjoyable. I learned so much from Dr. B. that mow I am a communication major! If you want a great public speaking experience take Dr. Brennan!

He is a great teacher. Very helpful stayed after class almost everyday(IN THE SUMMER!) to help the people with question. Yeah there is somw book work but the majority is notes, he goes at a good steady pase. Strongly recomended. OH and he greats your speaches for you during your speech so you have it right away!!!

Hands down THE BEST college instructor yet. I would never take a communication class from anyone else. In fact, I took other courses for my electives that Dr. Brennan taught because he is so great!

Dr. Brennan is a wonderful instructor! I took the online class and really enjoyed the book and materials we covered over the term. The class consisted of weekly discussions, a couple of quiz's, and about 3 written essays. I would recommend this class to anyone who is interested in improving communication skills. He is very clear and concise on what he requests and is a very charismatic individual! I've had him in another class before, Communication Between Sexes, and he is hilarious and has a very captivating way of teaching. He is always flexible when you need a few extra days with assignments. He is a teacher that really sets himself apart from the rest.

This class was not what I expected. Going into this class I was uneasy because I didn't like talking in front of people. After this class I still don't like giving speeches but I am a better person because of it. Dr. Brennan taught me courage in front of an audience even when I don't feel comfortable, and he taught me how to overcome my worst fear.

Kelly was a great professor. He kept it interesting, never boring. I will take other classes in the future if applicable from him. Wish other professors taught like him.

Great teacher, great class. The assignments are very interesting and educational. Highly recommend this class and teacher.

I loved his class. The fact that I got a B is entirely my own doing. He always spoke clearly about the assignments and would go above and beyond to inform us if class was canceled (happened once). His wife had an emergency and he drove to campus to make sure to post a sign telling us not to show for class later.

He was a very clear teacher on discriptions of assignments. Allowed some flexibility, was able to turn in late stuff for some points. Also was helpful with getting credit for assignments done when there was misunderstandings.

I almost would have liked it better had Kelly used his rubric for grading. The class was almost too easy, slightly taking away from the feeling of accomplishment. That being said, he's a great teacher, and I feel like a better speaker for having taken the class.

I was a little nervous when I began this class online, but Dr. Brennan set my fears to rest. I learned a lot from him and myself in regards to public speaking. Kelly is a great teacher, but I took this class online and he wasn't good at emailing back when I had questions or concerns. That is his only fault that I noticed though.

This was my 2nd class in communications with Dr. Brennan. I took this class online, and the amount of things learned was very high. It was well put together, and he is extremely fair when it comes to grading. I don't think I would take any other communication class at CCC unless it was Dr. Brennan instructing it. In class, he is awesome as well

Dr. Brennan is a wonderful teacher. He wants you to succeed and will work with you if you work with him. That being said, I strongly suggest that you check your student email before each and every class, because he is prone to taking a 'personal day' on random occasions and he does communicate class cancellations via email and moodle.

I just finished my summer class with Dr. Kelly Brennan and was relieved by how easy-going and consistent this class was. Dr. Brennan is very competent in many arenas, an excellent teacher, and most important in this scenario, an incredibly effective communicator. Take this class, and put forth some effort and you can gain a lot from it.

This class was really easy to navigate and understand. Directions were clear and we had ample time to finish assignments. Teacher was very understanding, and gave assistance when necessary. If I were to give it a rating out of 1-10, I'd give it a 10. I gained skills I can use for life.

Kelly is a great instructor. In this class he allows you to explore all you ever wanted to know about the opposite sex. As long as you do the work, attend the class and participate, you will get a good grade. If you have questions you can always get a hold of him either by phone, e-mail or text. This is the only instructor I know of who does this.

If you want to learn about communication between the sexes this is the teacher for you! I learned so much about why men and women communicate the way they do. I learned so many skills and tools to help me be a better communicator with the sexes. The class was fun, he kept people laughing and I love how we could ask the other sex any questions.

This class was very insightful into how the genders communicate differently.

I had Dr. Brennan for Communication Between Sexes and it is hands down the best class I have ever taken. He is a great teacher and he is entertaining to listen to. We had 3 papers which were not difficult and we had 2 take home quizzes. The final in the class was just asking how we liked the class. I recommend everyone to take this class!

Dr. Brennan was helpful, empathetic, caring and kind. Dr. Brennan is not a lenient teacher who lets things slide; he does have rules and expects you to follow them! But he makes it easy to follow his rules because he wants you to succeed. He limits the amount of homework he gives because he wants quality more than quantity. He helps you succeed!!

I took this class online, very easy, the projects were fun and entertaining. There is not a whole lot of work, mostly discussions and lots of reading, 2 big projects, which really took less than 2 days to complete, a weekly quiz, and the easiest final I have ever had. Dr Brennan is also a great instructor, I have had him in class as well.

Dr.Brennan's class was fun, fast paced, and on point! I took his class on Saturday mornings and though it was early the lecture was always energetic and easy to follow. I enjoyed this class very much.

Both COM 215 Small Group Communication: Process and Theory and SP 130 Business & Professional Speech COM. I attend with Dr. Brennan, was extremely fun, which made the material easier to learn. I really like his stories he shared. Very approachable when you need help. I would recommend Dr. Brennan if anyone is uncomfortable with speech giving.

I am not the public speaking type, but Kelly made it insanely easy and laid out in the very beginning what everyone was going to be thinking while they were "up there" or in the audience, which eased most tension. A little humor goes a long way, and Kelly uses quite a bit to help people survive this course :)

Class was very interesting and I learned a lot. The collage project was fun. He was fairly busy with other classes and I had to see him personally a couple times for questions, but he was very helpful and cleared things up. His Comm-111 class is great too!

If you get nervous speaking in front of an audience this is the professor for you. He has techniques for coping with stage freight and you end of loving the class! I did!

Dr. Brennan is a very professional and organized professor with a great teaching style. His lectures are easy to follow and tied to the real world. They even include some humor or a story along the way for fun. I definitely would recommend Dr. Brennan for COMM-111, he makes public speaking an enjoyable class.

Brennan's class was a breeze. He likes to have fun and make sure you get the points he is trying to make. Which isn't hard for him, he is very easy to understand. If you take his Comm-111, DO NOT buy the text book. I used it only on the quizzes (which are online,I attended WNTR '13 term). Save your money and use the one on hold in the library!

He is an excellent communications professor. He can be a little easy but you have to be a good student to get the easiness from him. I will take another class from him in the future.

Great professor. Taken 3 communication classes from him. His lectures and information are interesting. Public speaking class was really helpful; comm between the sexes and interpersonal comm were both interesting as well. Homework and tests are reasonable!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I had him for comm-111 and comm-218 and I received an A in both classes. He made comm-111 easy considering I am deathly afraid of public speaking. His syllabus contains all the assignments and the due dates so you never have any surprises. The quizes are all online but you get 2 attempts and have over an hour for each quiz.

A sincerely awesome teacher. If you want to learn communication this is your guy , the material is dense and could of been a yawn of a class, but the Doc makes it entertaining and enjoyable, highly recommend, even if you don't like communications.

Out of the teachers at clack, I would definitely recommend Brennan. He is really helpful and makes class and presentations comfortable.

Kelly is warm, affable and knowledgeable. Dress up and or memorize your speeches for extra credit. He does his damndest to help you get a good grade. I know it's possible, but I can't really imagine what you would have to do fail this class. If you want to be a better public speaker, and you don't want to get hung up on theory, take his class!

Professor Brennan is the man! He is one of the most naturally gifted speakers I've ever met. He keeps his material engaging and he'll add comedy in to his lessons whenever he can. I was able to give more risky speeches just because I knew he would appreciate them... And he did! He's a great teacher and he really lets you, be you.

Brennan is very nice, really wants you to succeed, and grades so that it's really easy for students to pass the class - even if they only put in the base amount of effort, so long as they speak fairly well they'll do fine. He grades more on your personal ability than perfection. I didn't really need the class, but I still enjoyed it.

Kelly is an awesome teacher!! I only took public speaking because it's required, but he made it so fun and I was completely comfortable with giving speeches. He is an awesome person, and if you give your speeches and listen to his feedback, you will pass no problem! Would definitely recommend him to every student that has to take this class!!

This class was fabulous. If you're going to take public speaking, take it with Brennan. He makes it easy to understand, and you will pass if you participate. Show up to classes, do your speeches, take the quizzes, and you'll get a passing grade. Quizzes are a bit hard to understand, but if you take notes you should be fine.

I had the pleasure of having Brennan as an instructor for COMM-111, 218, and 126. I learned a TON in each course, enjoyed them all, and recommend anyone who is at CCC to take a class with him. You will not regret it, he cares about your learning and makes things like public speaking a breeze.

Communication between the sexes is a very intriguing class you learn the do's and don'ts of talking with the opposite sexes the why's and reasons why. Plus every Wednesday there is a gender debate, where girls and guys ask any question they have always wanted to ask, it gets pretty heated

Good instructor! Dr. Kelly Brennan defiantly has the appropriate credentials to teach this topic. However, the subject matter of the class was not exactly what I was expecting when reading the course description. Therefore, be prepared for a bit of a twist.

Great class. The speeches can be hard to get started, but for a required class I would not take it from anyone other than Kelly!

It's an online class but you need to do reading so you can do the weekly discussions

I feel Dr Brennan did a great job of teaching this class. Lectures and powerpoints were very clear and easy to understand.

He gives great feedback. The class is fun and engaging. He makes it a fun course considering its public speaking. Only had 5 Speeches and they were clearly outlined and what the expectations were. Lectures were short and we often got out early. Some extra credit given. He wants you to succeed and it shows! Great teacher!! Great class!!

Dr. Brennan is a great instructor if you need Public Speaking. The course objectives were clear from the beginning. My piece of advise to future students would be to prepare, but not panic. There are plenty of opportunities to get a good grade. He's also very nice with some interesting stories.

I felt that Dr. Brennan was very understanding of people who dislike public speaking. While I don't believe I am the best speech giver, I did gain confidence and helpful tools for the future. Extra credit if you dress up and the lectures were awesome!

Kelly gives a lot of extra credit and his lectures clearly define everything he expects. Not only has this class prepared me for public speaking but I also feel a lot more confident for speaking professional settings. This class is what you make of it, make it worth your time and money!

Dr. Brennan is an amazing professor. He is almost always available to talk to. His lectures were filled with lots of funny stories and great advice. He makes public speaking doable for people with fears of making speeches. I enjoyed this class immensely and am planning to take two more of his classes. I highly recommend him as a professor!

If you have to take a public speaking class, then take Kelly Brennan! He's very encouraging and I felt well-equipped to give my speeches, even though I usually hate public speaking. He's a very merciful grader as well. Another bonus is that he gives his students pizza on the last day instead of a final exam!

Dr. Brennan is one of the best professors I have ever had. I had a lot of anxiety about public speaking, and through his lectures, 24/7 support, and his belief in his students I ended up being very comfortable with public speaking. He used funny stories in every lecture that made me look forward to coming to class. Honestly he and David were great!

This teacher was the first teacher to lecture for 2 hours and not put me to sleep. He is a real straight shooter without coming off like a jerk, very nice quality if you ask me. If you participate and do your part of the work i don't see how you couldn't pass.

Kelly is one of the best professors at CCC! He really cares about what he teaches and he gives everyone a fair shot to do their best. Part of your grade weighs heavily on attendance so make sure you show up. Lecture is entertaining and I've never felt more comfortable speaking in public than I have after taking this class.

Dr. Brennan's class was so much fun that I was sad when it ended. His lectures were so amazing and entertaining that it made sitting through class fun. He also made it easier to relax when we did our speeches by being super supportive and confident in his students. Take this class! You will not regret it. I would defiantly take it again!

Dr. Kelly Brennan is an amazing public speaker teacher, when I went into this class I was so wanting it over already but I tried it out and I learned so much from kelly and what he taught us was something I can use in the future or at the moment. He doesn't make you feel pressured & he knows most of us are scared to do this(5 speeches and a few quizzes) I did so much better than I thought I would, and I do not like talking in front of people.I am sad the class is over and would definitely take him again for another course :)

Dr. Kelly Brennan is a great professor because he believes in family first and cares about his students. I had child care issues and he worked with me with that. I felt surprisingly comfortable while speaking in his class and the structure was orderly. This has been my favorite and most memorable class during my two years at CCC.

I HATE arts/letters classes, but I LOVED this one. Dr. B is, without doubt, one of the best instructors I've ever had. It's rare to find a teacher who cares so much about not only teaching, but also imparting knowledge and insight that have true real world application. I would take any of his other courses in a heartbeat.

I was initially dreading this class (mandatory course), but I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Brennan's class is not only educational but also enjoyable and engaging... and those are two words that I never expected to use in relation to public speaking! I would highly recommend his course.

Excellent instructor. Even though I took this as an online class he was always extremely helpful. The workload is a perfect amount of keeping one interested and active in the class but not enough to be overwhelming.

He makes public speaking feel comfortable. With all his funny stories. He also gives a lot of opprtunity for extra credit. Do the work, show up and you will be able to pass with no problem.

He's amazing. Honestly one of the best instructors I have ever had. I took public speaking with him and he understands that it's hard for people and if you at least try and show up to class to support you classmates you will get an A or B.

Absolutely loved being in Dr. Brennan's class this term for COMM 126-01. Fun teacher, not very hard assignments, watched movies in class, AND every Wednesday, had a Q&A that got quite interesting at times. Would take the class again for the fun of it.

I love professor Brennan. He makes learning interesting and fun. I have taken multiple communication classes from him and I will take his classes in the future. Decent amount of reading but no busy work. Discussion Questions, quizzes, and a few short papers. Easy class but I felt like I actually learned a lot.

Dr. Brennan was my COMM-111 professor for Fall term 2016. This was by far my favorite professor I've ever had. Super cool guy with a lot of great insight on things. Very knowledgeable and I enjoyed his lectures. He took something that most people fear, Public Speaking, and made it a good time. I highly recommend taking his course(s).

I was terrified to take a communications class because I have major stage fright. But Kelly makes everyone feel good about themselves with his encouraging feedback. Love classes with him, he's a great teacher. I had him for comm 111 and he made public speaking great. But this term I took comm 126 with him and we had like 5 four page papers which isn't a lot, but piled on with my other 3 classes was hard. So don't take this class if you are taking other hard classes. Definitely fun though!

I'm two classes in and the caliber of learning has far surpassed what any processor has given me in a full term. Dr. Brennan knows what he's talking about - and he does it very well. Full disclosure: I've never rated a professor until now. He's THAT good.

Kelly is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's very understanding and has everything posted that you need from the very beginning of the term. I'm going to make an effort to take as many future classes with him because he's just that great of a professor.

Kelly Brennan is an amazing teacher, I have no doubt that this class would have been much harder if taken with another professor but he makes such a good effort to make sure people understand what he is teaching and if you put in the effort, he'll put it right back in for you.

Attendance isn't mandatory and you can make up speeches on the final day, but it's really not a class to skip or at least if you do send him a text. HE DOES take attendance, but since he's such an easy grader I don't think it really affects you much.

Some students think he is an easy grader but I have found getting good grades in this class isnt because hes an easy grade but more that he explains the assignments so clear that if you follow his directions you can do well. Fair teacher. He knows his material.

Kelly Brennan is a great instructor for helping you get over your fears of public speaking. He makes the environment very welcoming and is very non-judgmental. Your speeches don't have to be memorized; you can type up your speeches and just read it in front of the class and you'll still get a good grade. I wouldn't take Com111 with anyone else!

Kelly is a very good teacher. I had him in an online class, and his Moodle was clear and organized. Very helpful. He offered a lot of extra credit too. He explained his grading criteria well. Unfortunately, I had trouble contacting him throughout the term, but COVID was hard on everybody, so I understand. Would take from him again!

Brennan was a great teacher, and has a well organized syllabus. He is difficult to get a hold of, but his assignments are so easy that there almost wasnt anything you couldnt figure out on your own. If you have public speaking fears, take him. Hes an easy grader, and is genuinely caring. Overall, nice teacher, and you should succeed!

Taking this class online was a breeze. You record speeches and post them to youtube so you can revideo as much as you want. You have four quizzes during the term that are retake-able and you are told what was wrong. He also canceled our last speech because the term was shortened and because of COVID. Reading the texbook is not necessary.

Dr. Brennan is a great teacher. You do have to work hard to get a good grade, but he lines everything out for you in a very structured and understandable way. Due to the class being all online, we didn't have any meeting times but if we did, I'm sure attendance would be important. He's very accommodating and just wants his students to succeed!

If I could give him 10 stars I would. He is an absolutely great teacher. Very chill and teaches to the point. Very easy class too. Just listen and follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

Hes one of the best teachers CCC has to offer. Ive had him for 2 different classes, both of them were online due to the pandemic. He always leaves helpful feedback and is a really nice guy. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone! The homework load is super easy, just do your work! Kelly is the best 100/100.

This class was straightforwards and followed a simple schedule with recorded PowerPoints, forum discussions, and reading quizzes like your typical online class. He's a little old school, is an easy grader (no detailed feedback, just "Nice work!"), and the quizzes are open-book with questions right out of the lectures. Overall very pleasant. :)

Professor is a clear communicator that has a clean syllabus, easy to understand what is needed for the class, and focuses on what learning is really about - so nice!!! Details: Online, recorded speeches, quizzes from textbook, graded with an excel matrix that was included on the assignment submission as well as moodle feedback.

Dr. Kelly Brennan is very good at what he does. The lectures are spot on and easy to follow. You might need to pause the power points to catch up but that is it. Dr. Brennan has a clear grading structure. Stick to it and you'll be fine.

I took this online and wow, what a great instructor. Kelly makes the criteria simple to understand and is straight to the point. He always gave great feedback. Coming from someone who had to retake speech--if you complete his assignments, you'll pass with an A. He did not make this class complicated or confusing.

Reading analysis paper, self-concept picture collage, weekly discussion posts, & weekly quizzes. Quizzes are all due at the end of the term but I do not suggest putting it off. This was one of the easiest courses I've ever taken. Requires minimal effort or time on your behalf & it's extremely easy to pass. The prof is understanding & so kind.

This class was super easy. Hardly felt like I was even taking it. I turned a speech in once every other week and had a few quizes that can be retaken with the same exact questions. And the speeches are prerecorded videos you can redo as many times as you want. Take it if you need the credit, but not if you really want to become a better speaker.

Doctor Brenna was a good professor. His class was easy, but I did learn a lot. Not a lot of course work but it was very hands which made me feel like I learned more than other classes. He is very kind and accessible.

Kelly is a great teacher that seems to truly love his job, it's a shame he's going to retire soon! The classroom environment was very chill, and relaxing to be in. Assignments are fun, and he's a really easy grader. Take his classes before you miss out!
