Dr. B is captivating and fun to be around-I actually listen to his whole lecture. He makes it fun, and his personality is inviting.

Dr. Brennan is one of the best professors that I have ever had. I am actually able to listen to his entire lecture. He makes class fun for everyone. Going into this speech class I thought that I would hate it. Now that I am almost done I have to say that I have had lots of fun.

Good instructor. Clearly defines requirements for each type of speech. Easy to understandand and detailed in delivery of key points. Instructor sets good example for class.

Dr. Brennan provided a fun learning environment and always kept lectures interesting. Quizzes and final test was a breeze. Had to make 5 speeches throughout the class and the standards were easy to meet. I would highly recommend his SP111 class if you haven't taken it yet!

Phenomenal class, extremely rewarding if you put in effort and follow directions. Dr. Brennan creates a comfortable learning environment (does a great job at showing he is there to help you). Stories were an awesome part of the class. Lectures entertaining as well. Dr. Brennan was the first teacher I looked forward to truly listening to lectures.

Class Was Interpersonal communication. He has a policy that if you show up every day, and do all your work, you will pass the class with a C. The assignments were interesting and thought provoking. :)

Kelly is super cool, if you hate speaking in public i would take him. Interesting speaker, uses powerpoints that are very helpful. basically tells you exactly what to say.

I took Dr. Brennan for my business and professional comm class and he is the BEST! I took this class before with another professor bit dropped the class because the professor didn't care about her students but Dr. Brennan DOES! This guy will bend over backwards to help students succeed and if you're looking for a prof that cares about studerns, loves what he does, is knowledgable about the subject this is the prof for you! One thing I noticed about Dr. Brennan is his high level of organization and professionalism. He has tons of funny stories to tell and he does kinda like to hear himself talk. Dr. Brennan gives you everything you need to succeed in the class.

If you must take a speech class, take Dr. Brennan. Although a PHD he talks to you as if you are on the same level. He made a class that I did not want to attend fun and interesting. I was pretty terrified to take this class, in fact it was my last requirement needed before entering my major. I'm so glad I took Dr. Brennan's class. He creates a very comfortable and supportive environment, plus he's funny and very helpful. Dr. Brennan almost makes me wish I had to take another speech class. Almost :)

Professor B, was one of the best professors I've had at PCC. He is professional, say's what is expected and means it, but does whatever he can to make sure you succeed in his class. He is obviously a great lecturer since he is teaching public speaking. Making a speech no longer rates above death for me. Wish he had a part 2 for this class.

Very animated lectures and uses very creative assignments to illustrate ideas. Didn't care for the ambiguity of the final group project, but overall the class was pretty painless. I'll be taking classes from him in the future.

Awesome teacher, makes public speaking not so terrifying

I'm not a great speaker, so I am always nervous and scared taking Speech classes. Brennan made it very entertaining! I learned a lot in this small group class. One thing good was that we were forced into our group rather than getting to choose our own group.

Dr. Brennan made the class easy and fun. He had great stories to share and gave a lot of insight on techniques and philosophies behind professional communication. The Legal Brief and the Persuasive Speeches were my favorite of the four.

Great Teacher. Always animated and happy to have you in class. Great stories that keep you entertained and relate to the lesson plans. If you show up and do your work you should have no problem getting an A. Also the two field trips we took were awesome as well. He kind of reminds me of Jon Lovitz a little bit, Bubbly and very comedic.

Good teacher, easy class. Two group presentations and two exams. Exams are done with group and one is open book. Very nice guy, open-minded, and helpful. Would recommend.

Fun class, dreaded going into it but turned out not being that bad, fairly easy, and something that I'll use again in the future.

At first I didn't want to take this class, but afterward I'm glad I did. Dr. Brennan made it easy to learn, and the class was overall very easy. The only thing I would say is that he doesn't remind you of upcoming due dates (like quizzes), but he isn't strict on due dates either. Overall, great class, I would recommend to anyone.

I expected my mandatory speech class to be boring, stressful and tedious, but Dr. Brennan made the class fun and easy with his vivid, entertaining lectures and relaxed demeanor. I ended up loving this class, and I'd recommend this teacher to anyone.

Fantastic teacher! Explains the speeches very well, and tells lots of funny stories and experiences during lecture to make coming to class enjoyable. You will get an A if you simply follow the guidelines, and he will help you get it if you really want it. All in all, very fun & easy class.

Good teacher. He made speech class fun. The take home quizzes were easy and his lectures were entertaining. I actually got a lot out of this class and I highly recommend this teacher.

Very sweet guy. I HATE public speaking and he made it as comfortable as it could have been for me. I tried taking it before with someone else and dropped because of my anxiety but I was able to get through it with him. He also said to us on the first day that if we needed, we could bring our child to class. Never heard that before. Very sweet guy.

Keeps class entertaining and informative. Provides a calm and relaxed public speaking environment. Great teacher to learn from and you get your results right away. Plenty of extra credit available but you won't need it. Definitely a professor who should be nominated at "Teacher of the Year" or something.

Fun class! Kelly is highly intelligent and his lectures are never boring. But this class is NOT an easy A. I was nervous when I first started this class, but Kelly had a way of making everyone feel comfortable. As long as the student is attending class, doing their homework, and doing the best they can on their speeches, there shouldn’t be a problem pulling an “A” in this class. Kelly is one of my favorite teachers yet!

Great instructor! If you do what you're suppose to do, you'll get an easy A. You get plenty of time to complete you assignments, just dont slack because I did but I still got a B in the class.

Dr. Brennan is an expert in public speaking. He is also very intelligent, positive, supportive, well organized, and very clear with expectations. In the class, he managed to create encouraging and stimulating atmosphere which promoted learning. Class was challenging not because of a stress level, but because everyone strived for the excellence.

I took this professor for SP215 as well as COMM130 and both classes were awesome. He provides everything a student needs in order to succeed and goes the extra mile to help anybody who needs it. His stories not only give good examples of speech topics but also provide some humor in what would otherwise be a dry boring lecture. Highly recommended!!!

To be honest by far the best teacher! He helps you and wants you to pass. I was very afraid of taking this class and i felt comfortable. Dress up is extra credit! If you attend and try you'll pass! So glad I took his course:) tells great stories too! Highly recommend!!.

For someone with high anxiety and never wanting to speak in public, but it's a required course. Kelly is the best, you can choose your own topics for speeches and everything is well paced and he generates a comfortable environment to reduce anyone's anxiety for public speaking. By the end of the course I was much more comfortable speaking.

I believe most of the reviews on here are fake. I mean just look at them. So here's a real one: Lecture one week then speech the next (5 speeches total, 1st one you get full points on). You can find examples of students speeches on Youtube (type comm 111 Brennan). You WON'T NEED THE BOOK! All tests (4) are Take-Home, no other hwk. Sounds easy?

This is a great class. Really helps with public speaking, as well as just day to day conversations. I really enjoyed this class, which I never thought Id say about a public speaking class.

He has many connections in the local area that could greatly help anyone who is trying to get into the communications field. Dr. Kelly Brennan from the first day of class made me feel very welcome. Everyone was a little nervous to speak in front of the class but he made it manageable. Show up to class, do your work and you will be good to go. Great overall guy and honestly a fair grader. Helped me get over my public speaking fear.

He is a good instructor with great lectures, but when you try to contact him via email, his responses are very sporadic. I tried emailing him a handful of times before and during the term I had with him, and he only responded to maybe 1/4 of them. He does give you his cell phone number, as well, but emailing is a more professional in this situation

Dr. Brennen is very helpful. although it was a easy class for me doesn't mean its easy for everyone. the class i took only had 10 people so it seemed to be really laid back and you could get more out of the lessons. Dr. Brennen seems to really like his job and if easy to learn from. :)

Mr. Brennan was exceedingly welcoming, helpful, and friendly. His classes were relaxed, and made you feel at ease with getting up in front and delivering a speech. The requirements were known, and meeting them was simple, but not easy.

The lectures were all really interesting, and the information learned can be applied to encounters outside of class as well.

Amazing teacher and amazing class! He was very encouraging, and I definitely learned a lot! It was a smooth transition into public speaking. He also has countless hilarious stories he shares during class!

He was an amazing teachers. Allows groups to manage their own time and projects. Exams are pretty much group work. As long as you work well as part of your group, you will definitely get an A.

He is the best instructor at PCC, I'm so happy that I took his class, I recommend everyone to take his class of they want to success.

Kelly Brennan was overall a great teacher, which really helped with all of the jitters that normally accompany a speech class. The grading sheets are very concise and it's easy to see what you're doing well, and what you need to improve.

He has fun assignments, his lectures are informative but not boring, and his classes are long but for half of it. He lets you take control of the time.

Very clear about expectations. Works well with both students who have little experience in public speaking/communications as well as students who have experience. Willing to work with students. Actually cares about student improvement throughout the class.

This professor was one of my favorites. He cares about his students greatly and is extremely flexible. His ultimate goal is to help you pass and succeed.

I went into the class thinking I was going to hate public speaking, but by the third speech I didn't really mind it. Getting an A isn't very hard in this class if you try your best to meet all the marks.

Dr. Brennan is wonderful, I thoroughly enjoyed his class. Getting an A in this class is easy as long as you try. I liked that he recorded our speeches for us so we can go back and see what we could improve on. Hardly any notes, lectures were all available online to go back to. You won't regret taking his class.

Stop avoiding your public speaking pre-req and take this class! Dr. Brennan is great. 5 speeches throughout the term. He makes them no big deal. Plenty of chances for extra credit. I would take from him again in a heart beat! Highly recommend.

Dr. Brennan was a great professor. He had clear guidelines and a solid schedule from the beginning, but was also very flexible when it came to changes. Follow his direction and you can't fail.

DR. B is amazing! I hate public speaking and fear for this class but he actually made it exciting for everyone. The topics were super simple to talk about and in every speech you can obtain extra credit. He is also really funny with his lectures and his stories are very interesting! I would always get excited to for class

Dr Brennan is great. I loved the class and really enjoy his teaching. I wish he would teach more at PCC. I would take his class again. If you are shy or not good at speaking/communicate, this is a must class to take. Dr. Brennan is easy going and upfront. His lecture was great and on point. I learn a lot of about myself through his class.

A solid choice professor. He was very clear on everything and I felt I learned a lot. He also gave instant feedback on all speeches which was great. I spent a few hours on each speech of which there were five and I felt prepared for all of them. He also gave credit for dressing up on speech days.

Kelly is amazing. I was terrified about having to take public speaking, but he really calms your nerves and makes you feel confident. There are 5 speeches but as long as you follow the requirements (time length, sources, visual aid etc) this class is very easy. Wish I could have him for every class!

He is an amazing professor and makes public speaking extremely easy. I didn't have any difficulty with his class and he lets you bring your notes up which was extremely helpful. He gives good feedback and is clear about what he wants. As long as you follow the guidelines you are good to go.

If you need to take a speech class, this teacher is the one to take it with. He does not require you to buy a book and best of all, all the quiz/exams are take homes. He accepts late work within reasonable time and if you miss a speech, you can do it the next class. What more can you ask for?

Great teacher, easy class

Dr. B is great!! this was my 1st quarter back in school in 5 years and i as nervous as heck. Learning that his degree was in communication (one of my interests) i picked his brain and he offered to advise me. i have never felt so heard or understood by someone working in the educationi system.

He has a lot of personal experience in communication. He not only show this, but he uses techniques that are taught in public speeking. He also makes sure to grade on you personally and not just the group in general. You can see that he wants you to succeed.

I originally was not looking forward to taking a public speaking course but Dr. Brennan made it so easy to overcome that fear. He is wonderful and was very understanding when it came to students who were also parents. I recommend his class to everyone.

Dr. Brennan is a great educator. He covered the subject matter well and gave good feedback on presentations.

Dr. Brennan makes things very simple and straight forward. Show-up to class and be respectful and participate in the activities, you will pass. No doubt about it. However, show no respect for your fellow classmates or instructor, you can be penalized. Just know that Dr. Brennan wants you to succeed, but success must start with you.

Professor Brennan is great. I would highly recommend Kelly, as he is knowledgeable, caring, and has tons of experience in his field.

Very good teacher and makes you feel comfortable while giving speeches. Just do the best you can and follow the guidelines he gives and it's an easy A. He's lecture heavy but they're interesting and he gives you breaks. He grades attendance as well. Definitely would recommend.

He gives very informative videos and written slides to reach every type of learning style.

Professor Brennan makes this speech class a breeze. With helpful feedback, no textbook required, and easy grading, the class is a great choice. I found unstuck ai a useful study tool alongside the lecture materials.

Would have been so sick in the 80s

Kelly is a phenomenal instructor, and was very accommodating and accepting. His class is mainly lectures, and a few large speeches, but most of them are easy if you take the time to practice. My only qualm, is that his syllabus is extremely outdated, and makes the class look more intense than it actually is.
