I was dreading the thought of taking this class but it ended up being my favorite class! Dr. Brennan is funny, energetic, and above all very helpful. Dr. Brennan wants his students to succeed and will do anything he can to assist in that endeavor - I highly recommend taking public speaking with him you will very happy you did.

I really didn't want to take this class, but it turned out to be my favorite class this semester. Dr. Brennan is a great professor. He makes it very clear what is expected in each speech, and grades fairly. Unlike most professors, he actually wants you to do well.

This was by far the greatest class i have taken at WSUV. The only difference between his class and others was that he actually wanted each student to do well. All assignments are straight forward, and he helps you with any questions you have. He was super funny and really helped me as a speaker. Take this class you wont regret it!! HE IS AWESOME!

I actually enjoyed this class. It was one of the few classes that i took this year that i had no problem going to, and really had no interest in skipping. I appreciate all that you taught me, and i'll probably take more from this class than i have from any other class i have taken yet. Thank you for everything.

Dr. B is awesome! He is very helpful and is willing to work with you if you are having any trouble. Since ComSt102 is a mandatory class, I would have to recommend that you take this with Dr. Kelly Brennan. Not only is he the nicest/coolest guy ever, but he knows what he's talking about!! 100%

I wasn't expecting much out of this call nor did I get much. His lectures weren't directed and seemed more common sense advice. Terrible class, but that being said the class is easy and he is helpful. I don't think I got anything out of the class. Not that funny. I feel that this class was taught at a challenging level but was not overwhelming. Dr. Brennan was always accessable for quesions and comments.

It became immediately clear to me why Dr. Brennan is a communication professor-he definitely knows what he's doing! I had so much fun in this class and really enjoyed his stories of past speeches. I laughed more in this class than any other!

Dr. Brennan is a wonderful instructor for this course. He is genuine and very successful at helping his students to succeed. The skills I improved in this class apply daily. Fun and entertaining, this class is probably the first I would recommend to everybody.

I was NOT looking foward to taking this class but I am so glad I did and I am sorry I waited until my senior year because Dr. Brennan taught me so much. He cares so much about the students and he is so passionate about what he teaches. WSU-V is lucky to have this prof! If you're looking to become a great speaker and learn alot and overcome any fear of speaking in front of people this is the prof to take, trust me! His lectures are informative and he is funny! Time flies by in his class!

I was NOT looking forward to this required public speaking class, however Dr. Brennan was excellent! He was energetic, opimistic and above all encouraging to me and others about becoming all that we can be. After taking this class, I am no longer fearful of speaking in front of others and in fact, I look forward to speaking now. Take this class!

I really enjoyed how you were able to learn and grow and your own rate, and are not comared to your classmates. He keeps the class fun and engaging and now I am not as afraid to speak infront of people. He gave me many valuable tools to help calm my nerves or as he says help the butterflies fly in formation.

Quite possibly one of greatest professors I have had in awhile. Dr. Brennan is an outstanding teacher and is very understanding. He makes the class so much more enjoyable. I would easily recommend this class to anyone.

Dr. Kelly Brennan really is a great teacher, by far one of my favorites in college. He is helpful, understanding, and outgoing. No "due" dates for assignments, just have to turn them in by the end of the semester. You know your score of your speech literally seconds after, and he is very understanding when you are sick or have an emergency.

Awesome teacher, easy class. For a person who hates speaking in public this class made it super fun and easy.

He is a GREAT teacher. I was so so nervous and he made it bearable. He kept saying "Make sure to write good speeches so I don't have to deduct points, I don't want to do that, it gets tougher from here..." But he graded very kindly, I thought. He was a great teacher.

Dr. Brennan has a great attitude that encourages those who may be nervous and creates an incredibly helpful and friendly atmosphere. Hands Down my favorite class from any of the colleges I've attended.

He's been doing this for awhile, yet I still saw great enthusiasm and patience as he worked with us. He makes one of the most annoying GERs a class that is involving and personalized. So for those of you putting it off, if you have the opportunity to take it with Dr. Brennan, do it! He is set on helping you succeed :)

Amazing teacher

Dr. Brennan did a good job making one of lifes terrible fears manageable (public speaking) very helpful, extremely flexible. If you don't do well in this class it's on you. He makes every effort to help.

I took Dr. Kelly Brennan's interpersonal communications class and it was awesome! My girlfriend and I learned so much about how men and women communicate as well how to work on our relationship. If you want to better understand how heterosexual and same-sex couples function, take this professor and class - you'll be glad you did!

Such a great professor! He made my worst fear of public speaking into one of my favorite classes and helped me to get over my nerves! I would definitely take this class as early as possible because it will help so much with classes later on!

Great Teacher, You will not regret taking this class. Not hard at all (unless you are terrified of giving public speeches). You will learn skills that you will definitely use later in Life.

Truly a great teacher if you are willing to give it your best effort. He is willing to go to help you do great on speech. Before this class I was petrified of speaking in front of an audicene, now I am still nervous but not nearly to the extent.

Mr. Brennan's class is super fun! It is easy, but makes you a much better public speaker due to the fact that you are required to do 4 in front of the class. These are low stress and super fun though! Great professor (funny and relevant), great class, great experience!

I loved this professor! Dr. Brennan is fair, clear, entertaining, and most of all, very knowledgable in his field, wow! You will learn so much in his class and you'll discover you love speaking! Crazy huh?! This is the professor to take.

His lectures actually made me want to go to class at 9 in the morning.

He is a great professor and his lectures are simple. The quizzes follow the book exactly. He grades fairly with lots of extra credit. The only thing that was a downfall was the attendance. Listening to people give bad speeches was almost painful but otherwise it was a good class.

Amazing professor. I am a graduating senior and he is one of the best I have had... his lectures are extremely interesting and memorable. Never thought I would have an interest in Communications, I just took the class as a credit filler, but he sparked interest in the topic for me.

Loved this class! It actually made me a better speaker and allowed me to gain confidence in speaking. And it wasn't horribly difficult after the first speech that was only 1 minute long! :)

I loved this class, it really helped me get over my fear of speaking. It was fun and a great way to get to know your classmates. Just make sure you GO TO CLASS. It's tempting to skip, especially in the morning, but so not worth it.

This course was a great time, definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. I am a pretty out-going person but still had a fear of Public Speaking, this course eliminated that. Very fun, lectures were very helpful. Go to class, put your best effort into the quizzes and speeches and you will be golden. Brennan is great professor.

I thought Dr. Brennan was very charismatic and enjoyable to be around. We mostly listened to other students speeches in my class, but when Dr. Brennan actually got up to teach he was very intriguing and helpful. I almost wish I could take his class again just for fun.

Great Professor. Very good speaker and entertaining to listen to during lectures. Exams were take home. Speeches were timed and he is not a very difficult grader in the beinning speeches. He is more particular with speeches towards the end of term. Clearly explains everything he requires for an A. Losts of extra credit!

Dr. Brennan is the best professor I've ever had! His jokes and humor makes class enjoyable and takes the stress away from being nervous on speeches. He also provides lots of extra credit and grades generously, if you need to take speech for a general education requirement, make sure to take his class!!

I have to admit, I was pretty intimidated by him during the first couple weeks of class. After that I realized he's a really nice and helpful professor. I would definitely take his class again!

Professor Brennan is one of the best professors that I've ever had. His lectures are very interesting and I actually looked forward to going to class each day, even though it was at 9 AM. If you pay attention to the lectures and do as he says you will receive a good grade.

Excellent class that focuses on student skill building. Textbook was used minimally and was allowed for all quizzes. Saw skills improve in many students that desperately needed this help! I will take more of his classes if available.

Dr. Brennan is such a great professor!!! I had a full load of very stressful classes. Coming in with music playing before all of his lectures, they were almost like attending a self help seminar. I could swear the guy is a comedian. What a great class to take in the middle of my day (noon). Bonus-open book tests!

he had no textbook which was a money saver! idk how you cant get an A in this class I didn't put much effort in and got over 100% he likes to tell stories and they are always interesting and have a point, id take another class with him if possible.

Dr. Brennan was an awesome teacher! He was very enthusiastic and made the class really fun to go to. The only things that was bad was we didn't use the textbook that was required. I would say don't buy it if you are taking this class. Also with the majority of the speeches online it was difficult for a few of them.

Clear explanations and engaging stories connected to the course content. An easy A as long as you follow the instructions for each assignment.

Brennan is a good teacher, assignments (5 short speeches) were clearly laid out and explained. It was mostly online during the semester. He changes the syllabubs a ton so just make sure to keep and updated copy handy cause due dates change a lot with him.
