Awsome teacher, the class it self can be hard, but she makes it fun. Def makes you a better speaker and if you try in class and show up, you can defintely get an A. Overall I recommend taking her, she is really nice and cares about her students.

Great Prof! Assignments are off the wall but totally engaging. Very clear about what she expects, yet you are free to choose your own topics. Never a dull moment. Challenging yet enjoyable. Callahan really makes you think outside the box & you never know what to expect walking in the door. Despite taking her @ 8am, it was by far the best course I've taken so far @ UT. You need to put in the effort but I highly recommend taking her. Wish I didn't miss so many classes! Dr. Callahan's has the ability to turn anyone into a great speaker. I hated giving speeches but by the end of her class I gave two speeches for the final when I only needed one. Her classes are extremely fun and you become friends with everyone in the class. Also don't make fun of her hands, I think it gets to her.

Doc Callahan is the best. Take this class if you can...even if its an elective. You will make 20 friends for life in class and overcome any fears of public speaking if you have them. I have two degrees and this is still my favorite class...sorry about the VW Dr C

The things that she makes you do are a little nerve racking at first but you become much more confident. The things that I expect to get out of this class is to gain the ability to be able to express my thoughts in a more clear, specific and confident way in front of a group of people. From the professor I expect guidance and a comfortable enviroment and the ability to inspire me to become a better and more comfortable speaker.

This class may entail a huge sum of writing and speeches. It may also require student to improve on their public speaking skills by practicing or giving speeches in class. Kelly Callahan is known to be a great professor and down to earth but expects your 100 percent in participating in every assignment.

I expect the class to strengthen my public speaking abilities and help me get comfortable with speaking in front of anyone. I hope to receive helpful feedback from Dr. Callahan and use the information later on in the future.
